We're touring Disney like a 3 year old (2TRs in 1!)- UPDATE 5/18 pg. 46

I don't know about the Beast, but I may have heard that Gaston will definitely be featured? or maybe that was just a rumor. I can't remember. That would be fun to see, though.

She loves her poses. :rotfl:

I think Gaston should be featured! I mean, he's a big part of their story. I just love this show. :)
Also, I somehow missed the post where you asked if you should do a mini-TR and I think you definitely should, that would be a lot of fun to see!

I am always wondering it they will stick strictly to the Disney version of the fairy tales, or if they will go on a more general theme. Also, just read that they are thinking of casting an Ariel too! Yay!

Yes, I am working on getting this trip wrapped up so that I can add on the mini-TR just so I can post about some experiences and WWoHP. I am obsessed with Harry Potter, too, so I was so excited to go there.

Yeah, good point. If they stick to Disney they won't have AS much to go from. BUT, Rumpelstiltskin and Red Riding Hood are both not Disney, and I'm pretty sure I heard they were doing something related to Hansel and Gretel... but I guess we'll find out as it comes along! I LOVE ARIEL, that would be awesome!!!

Fun! I've never gotten into Harry Potter, but I have nothing against it, and I always enjoy reading about people's experiences at Universal as well as Disney. So I'll look forward to it! :)

This installment is going to have a slightly different vibe. I decided I was going to sprinkle in some flashback photos from previous Disney trips to compare. I have been feeling a little nostalgic, must be the holiday season. I hope you guys don’t mind. Readers of my previous TR will recognize most of the photos. When I last left off, we had just completed our walk back along this path

ry%3D400

the International Gateway. Also known as the pathway to heaven according to my husband. He would make that little side trip to the Beach Club every day if he could. Actually his ideal little walk? Probably from the Beach Club to France to get a napolean from the boulangerie. One of his favorite Disney desserts.

However, he napolean was not the main reason we were stopping off in France. Of course we were going to say hi to a furry friend. And when I said “say hi” I meant “rush headlong into open arms.”

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

You would think that the Aristocats was her favorite movie. She has never seen the movie or read the book. She just knows of Marie from Disney World. I guess she is a pretty adorable little feline. And who can resist a fluffy white cat with a pretty pink bow? Not this girl.

ry%3D400

It’s like she went in for the hug and never let go.

ry%3D400

Here is our first flashback photo from our 2010 trip. Apparently she was enjoying the hugs from Marie even back then.

ry%3D400

We did manage to convince her relax her hold and let someone else have a turn at saying hi to Marie. We had some more countries to visit.

Anyone thirsty? Hello lovely slushies.

ry%3D400

I have read and heard so much talk of the fantastic grey goose slushies, but I have also enjoyed this little number. A pomegranate and champagne cocktail. Pretty yummy. Here is a photo of me enjoying the drink and my sister-in-law enjoying the slushie from a trip we took together a few years back. Not the best photo of us, but you can see we are quite excited to dig into our French cocktails.

ry%3D400

Another favorite snack of my husband’s comes from this other stand in France.

ry%3D400

Crepes anyone? Looks like we caught this lady in mid hair flip. Whoops.

Looks like my husband was on a bit of a photographic journey of our typical snacking spots. We always enjoy stopping off for a meal in Morocco.

ry%3D400

It has become one of our go-to places to grab lunch, especially if we are craving a bit of rice.

ry%3D400

We usually get the combo chicken and lamb shawarma platter and a side of extra rice and it tends to feed all three of us easily. Also, keep in mind when I say it feeds all three of us easily, I am also taking into account all the many snacks that we eat around Epcot. I mean, it’s not like we are only eating at one country. Where is the fun in that?

Here is a flashback photo from a previous trip of our little girl enjoying the rice there.

ry%3D400

I also happen to love the courtyard in Morocco. It’s so pretty.

ry%3D400

Up next was a stop in Italy. My husband needed to get a photo of our little girl in front of one of the columns. And our little diva was happy to oblige.

ry%3D400

The reason for this shot? To see how much she has grown since her first trip. Here is the comparison photo of her from her very first trip in 2009 when she was 22 months old. That is a look of absolute pure joy on her face.

ry%3D400

We both totally loved that photo. So that was her then, and this is her now.

ry%3D400

Again, pure joy.

We breezed past the next country in the showcase. For some reason, we usually just skip this pavilion, unless we are in the mood for some funnel cake.

ry%3D400

Doesn’t this area look so sad all empty?

ry%3D400

Here is what it looked like when it was all lit up with the magic of Davy Jones.

ry%3D400

I do enjoy a nice solid brick house though.

ry%3D400

Makes me miss Virginia. You rarely see a full brick house up here in the northeast.

Then we skipped on over to Japan.

ry%3D400

Another favorite standby of ours in the counter service lineup.

ry%3D400

Whenever we needed a rice or noodle fix, we would head to the Yakitori House. While it may not be the most delicious, it would definitely satisfy our cravings.

cont. in next post

At this point, we took a look at the time and saw that a certain princess would be out meeting people soon. And we figured that if we could get in early in the line, we would be able to fit the meet in before our dinner ADR. So here I am reversing direction and booking it to our destination.

ry%3D400

It was definitely getting more crowded in the World Showcase.

ry%3D400

The belly dancer was out doing a show in Morocco, so I had to maneuver my way through that crowd.

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

Pretty, pretty ball.

ry%3D400

As we got closer to the line, we could tell that no one had arrived yet, so we would easily be first in line. I slowed my pace down a bit, but apparently our little girl had to make sure that she was first in line. See the blur?

ry%3D400

She was determined to be meet one of her other favorite princesses.

ry%3D400

I am sure that you can tell by our location that we were waiting for Belle. Why did we have to haul our butts over for this particular meet time, you ask? Because Belle would be out greeting people by herself, without the Beast. Remember our little girl’s aversion to Aladdin? Will it encompassed all the princes. So we knew that she would not go anywhere near the Beast.

The Photopass photographer came out a few minutes before Belle and succeeded in entertaining all of us. You could tell how great he was because he managed to get our little girl involved. At one point, he saw that our little girl was hopping around out of her stroller and took advantage of the empty stroller, claiming that he was exhausted.

ry%3D400

She is trying so hard to push the stroller, and the whole time he was egging her on. It was hilarious. Alas it had to end as Belle made her appearance, and just like Alice, she also had a fabulous cape.

ry%3D400

Our little princess needed to show Belle that she had collected a toddler Belle pin.

ry%3D400

Of course it ends with a princess pose

ry%3D400

and a hug.

ry%3D400

And here is a flashback with Belle a year prior.

ry%3D400

The hugs are always the same.

ry%3D400

Princess meet done with, it was time for dinner. And in case you can’t wait to find out where we ate, here is a hint:

ry%3D400

I love your flashback photos! How fun to see your little girl enjoying Epcot through the years! :goodvibes

That CM sounds hilarious, hopping into the stroller! I love hearing stories of great CM's like that!

I love flashback photos! So cute. Marie and Belle are two characters I have yet to meet but I REALLY want to! I bet your daughter would LOVE The Aristocats! :)

Well, I would recognize that dessert and its origin anywhere. :thumbsup2

Love your flash back pictures, especially the ones with your daughter and the characters. Was she ever afraid? It sure doesn't look like it. They are all adorable. It's fun to see how much she's grown.

Aw, thanks! I think I will try to incorporate some others if they work out. I never did a TR for her very first trip to Disney.

I really do think the CMs at Disney are fantastic for the most part. He was pretty funny and helped pass the time.

Thanks! Marie and Belle are out pretty often in Epcot and the times are now on the Times Guide, so it makes it so much easier to find them. I feel like they are always out.

Oh, and what did you think of this week's Once? I feel like they are definitely building up to something. Did you catch what was in the mine?! I don't know what that means!! Trying to be cryptic in case you didn't see it yet.

Yes, that is a pretty well known dessert pic! It was a yummy meal.

So, you were thinking that my daughter might not have been afraid of characters? Take a look at this bad boy from a trip to Sesame Place before her first trip to Disney. She was about a year and a half then.
ry%3D400

And look how cute Bert and Ernie are! That is pure terror on her face. So glad she outgrew that!

Oh awesome! I'll definitely look for them! :thumbsup2

I saw it! I thought it was a pretty good one. The whole back story behind Jiminy Cricket was really interesting but the puppet thing was CREEPY. If my parents were turned into wooden puppets, I don't think I'd want to start making them for a living! And no, I didn't quite get what was supposed to be in the mine... it looked like some kind of cut glass or something? It's definitely making me curious, though!

Yes, I hope you find them, and like I said, definitely check out the Times Guide at Epcot!

Those puppets were sooo creepy! But I loved how they came up with that backstory to Jiminy Cricket and how he ended up with Gepetto. And the glass that they kept finding/throwing back into the mine? Part of Snow White's glass casket!!! See? Here's a pic from the end of the episode.....
53484f3d787068d223a41d0e53af159b.jpg

What does that mean????????

OH!!!!! Wow, okay I feel so stupid now because I somehow COMPLETELY missed that when I watched the episode! That is interesting... and a little spooky... and I have no clue what it means but I'm sure we'll get another clue on Sunday! Thanks for showing me that!

What did you think of this week's episode? I thought it was sooooooo good! I cannot wait for Sunday's episode!

I was reading a theory that maybe the fairytale world is underneath the real world?! That could make sense, right? I don't even know. Those puppet dolls are so creepy though. Oh, and they already cast a Gaston!

I know I loved it too! Poor Mary Margaret. :( I'm glad they showed us why James would be married to that other girl though, because I was wondering why he would even like her. Good to know he doesn't really...

That sounds about right! That will be so awesome to see Belle's story! So much fun. I love this show. ALSO you were totally spot on about the sheriff! VERY GOOD GUESS! :worship:

Um, did you watch last nights?!?!

We bid adieu to Belle and skipped off to the neighboring country of Canada for our dinner ADR. Yes, we were eating at Le Cellier. We got really lucky with this reservation since we had to make many changes to our plans with the changes to our trip with the shower and all. And yes, we had dinner ADR to Le Cellier during the weekend of the shower. Of course. We really wanted to eat here for dinner one last time before it became a signature restaurant. So when this time opened up, I jumped on the chance and did some more rearranging to our other ADRs.

The pathway leading to the restaurant is just so beautiful.

ry%3D400

I couldn’t resist a photo myself, don’t mind the awkward angle.

ry%3D400

We checked in at the entrance and only had to wait a few minutes before we were shown to our table. Our little girl got straight to work on her coloring activity.

ry%3D400

Now I know everyone who eats here raves about the filet and their steaks, but I have a confession. I don’t eat beef. Yup, true story. I had planned on just ordering the salmon again, but then I saw a new addition to the menu. I’m sorry, I can’t remember exactly what it was, but it was a fish dish and it sounded so good, I immediately ordered that.

Doesn’t it look delicious?

ry%3D400

Of course, this is what the hubby ordered.

ry%3D400

now back to me.

ry%3D400

I totally cleaned my plate, much to my husband’s chagrin. He had taken a few bites of my dish and had also fallen for it. He was wishing he had ordered my dish. That’s how good it was! Our waiter asked me for my thoughts on the dish because I guess they were debating adding it to the new signature menu. And I told him it was divine. Sadly, I don’t see it on the current permanent menu, but maybe it will be a seasonal item. I would have gladly gone back there for that dish alone.

No meal is ever complete without dessert, right?

ry%3D400

At this point, we were stuffed and it was pretty late, so we rolled ourselves out of Le Cellier and slowly made our way out of the park. We figured we should get our little one to bed relatively close to her normal bedtime so she wouldn’t be too cranky for her last days on vacation. We wanted to pack a few more park hours into our last day.

Yes, sadly Sunday morning came and we all (my husband and I) got out of bed with those awful bittersweet emotions running through us. It was our last park day. Our little girl hopped out of bed eagerly because to her, we were still in Disney. She was getting used to being there in Florida. We had a lot planned for today, so we busted a move and got ourselves to our first stop…..

ry%3D400

awww, yeah. Time for some Toy Story madness. We grabbed FPs and hopped right into the standby line. This was a ride request from our little girl. She wanted to ride it one last time so we made the trip over to Hollywood Studios just for her. Plus, her favorite board game is Candyland so how could she not be happy in line?

ry%3D400

Her typical game piece is the red one, so she found it fitting that she had on a red skirt.

ry%3D400

Baby Simba and the alien rocket wanted to take a closer look at those crazy monkeys.

ry%3D400

Hi Mr. PotatoHead!

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

We soon hopped into our ride vehicle and whizzed off into the world of arcade games.

Since some of you liked the flashback photos, here is a photo of our little girl standing before Toy Story Midway Mania for the first time in 2009.

ry%3D400

And some photos from her first ride on TSMM soon after.

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

Then it was time to wander about the park as we waited for our FP time to come about. What else were we going to do except stop off and take cheesy pictures?

We stopped to get out of the passing rain shower.

ry%3D400

Our little girl wanted to practice her driving.

ry%3D400

Apparently she is learing to drive overseas.

Then what was it time for? Oh yeah, meet some characters. First up – Quincy.

ry%3D400

As you can see, Annie and baby Simba were also along for the meet.

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

Then what do you know? As luck would have it, out walked June! So we hung around to give that little ballerina a hug as well.

ry%3D400

And Quincy got another hug so he wouldn’t feel left out.

ry%3D400

Our little girl found that it was a little hard to strike a pose when her hands were full.

ry%3D400

continued in next post

Do you think we were able to leave that meet and greet area? Of course not because you know the main reason we were there was to say hello to big Annie again.

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

They shared another private little moment with little Annie.

ry%3D400

Remember this photo from earlier in the trip?

ry%3D400

Then they posed for one last photo together.

ry%3D400

Here is another flashback photo of her first meeting with Annie and Leo.

ry%3D400

It was at this point that we started to hear some loud music coming our way…..you know what that means? Yup, a parade/show time. My husband and I just looked at each other because we knew how this was going to end up. Readers of my TRs will also know where this is going……our little girl gravitating towards the show like a moth to a flame.

ry%3D400

See her in the crowd of kids? Of course she ran straight to a girl cast member to dance around. She was also one of the last ones off the “stage.”

ry%3D400

She isn’t one to turn down the chance to dance in a parade or show. Once the show was done, we headed back to Pixar Place. It was time for our second ride on Toy Story Midway Mania. This was our ride vehicle (with some random people’s bottoms exiting it).

ry%3D400

After our second ride, we decided that we were done with Hollywood Studios. Our main objective had been accomplished, so we hopped across the pond to Epcot. Our tummies were rumbly and we needed to get a little lunch in. I think we ended up grabbing some food at Yakitori house, but I am not positive. Seems like the likely culprit, knowing our food preferences. What I do know is what we had for dessert….

ry%3D400

I love me some Kaki Gori! The sun had finally started to come out so I figured we could eat a nice cold dessert.

What do you think this look is telling us?

ry%3D400

I think she is saying “What? You want to try some of my shaved ice? Pshhhh, don’t think so.”

Up next: the rest of our last park day :guilty:

Boo for the last park day! That day is always so bittersweet but it looks like the little one was having a great time. When I recently read that the Little Einsteins were leaving DHS, I couldn't help but think of all the fun she had with them and hoped there will be new friends she'll enjoy just as much!

I think she is saying “What? You want to try some of my shaved ice? Pshhhh, don’t think so.”

I think that's exactly what she's saying! :rotfl:

And yum! Le Cellier! I'm drooling at the food pictures!
