We're touring Disney like a 3 year old (2TRs in 1!)- UPDATE 5/18 pg. 46

That is too cute about the Jasmine and Aladdin meet! I wonder if the character duos get that a lot - I can see this happening with Belle and the Beast - he's a bit of a big and scary looking character.

Isn't it a bit disconcerting when you go into a meal or a ride and the weather or day-to-night totally changes? You're just like "I could have sworn there was a sun there..."

I think your DD looks adorable, even without the fancy homemade outfits :goodvibes I know I'll have to wish for a grandaughter to someday be able to enjoy the princess meals, so I'm glad I have you to live vicariously through! :thumbsup2

Too funny that she didn't want to meet Aladdin! Well, he is a street rat, she must just be a good judge of character

Aw, thanks. I did like her outfit too, just got a bit envious when I saw all the mini princesses walking around. Maybe you can go to Disney with your niece one day! Having a little girl there is so much fun!

Aladdin - I know! It was too funny once we got it all situated. I'm glad they went along with it for us.

Wait. Hold up. Have I not bee on this thread yet? Did I not comment yet? I was sure that I had (I recognize the first few updates), so I was searching for the page on my User CP, but in a search, I got your old TR instead of this one! WHERE HAVE I BEEN?!? Oh, crafting ... haha.

How cute that your DD squeezed her legs around you while under the umbrella! I saw it last time, but I didn't get a chance to try it because there were so many people around. We were going to go back at night, but we forgot.

I love the interaction with big Annie and little Annie! I like that there are so many pictures so we can pretend we were all there watching!

EW EW EW to that kid who rummaged in the garbage! EW EW EW! I mean, I get so scared of all those stories where people get sick in Disney probably because of like, ride bars and all that. But that is just NASTY! BLECH.

I'm glad you still had DD meet Aladdin (from afar!) and Jasmine! Why does she not like Aladdin? Would that happen with all the princes?

Hi Rachel! I am glad you are here! I was going to mention it to one of your TRs once I saw you posting again. You have been busy with your awesome crafts though. Besides, you saw the best parts via the blog and I plan on posting the video here, too.

I love the Annie interaction too! It was more than I had hoped for when we were talking about it. :lovestruc

Yes, the garbage kid still haunts me. Blech!

She seemed to be afraid of most of the guy face characters. She didn't want to meet Tiana either if Prince Naveen was in the gazebo. And we came across Ariel and Prince Eric in the MK one day with barely a line and I was so excited, and she was too, until she saw Prince Eric. I don't know what it is. :confused3

I love the Duffy area! He is so cute I had to have my own

Your little one looks like she had so much fun with the princesses! The smile on her face in the parade picture is adorable :)

Your night shots came out really well! :thumbsup2

Duffy is pretty cuddly looking.

Oh my gosh - she was in heaven in the parade. She was so happy!

Thanks, Dawn. I never know how my night shots will come out and like to play around when I am at Disney. Perfect place to try!

That was such a sweet update. I love your "little one's" outfit. I think its every bit as cute as a costume and it looks a heck of a lot more comfortable. She looks so happy with all the princesses. Wonderful pictures!

Too, too funny about Aladdin!!!! :rotfl: And, yes, it is good that she won't give up a hug to a strange man!

Haha, yes, I think the outfit my daughter was wearing must have been more comfortable than the typical princess outfit. She was just happy to be wearing Belle on her shirt when she met her.

I'm glad she won't go to strange men, too!

I'm not sure what your towel art is supposed to be, but it reminds me of the Hamburger Helper commercial:rotfl2:

how sweet of Jasmine and Aladdin to appease your DD.

I love your dd's poses! She's such a cutie!

I thought the interaction was pretty quick at Akershus too. Thanks for mentioning the photos going on your PP. I have to figure out to add mine.

I still have no idea what the towel thing is. I was hoping someone here would know.

Jasmine and Aladdin were very sweet about the whole thing. Aladdin didn't seem to take it personally and Jasmine was so sweet to her.

I can't even handle her poses sometimes. She is too much ....and I love it!

I think with the Belle pic at Akerhus, the number is on the bottom of the pic receipt. A code to enter onto the PP site.

I just found your TR. I'm a little late, but I'm here!

I'm from the Northeast, too, and this winter was so cold and snowy. Glad you got to get away from it for a little bit! I actually remember this period of time. I had a friend in Virginia, who said the weather was warm there. Meanwhile, it was freezing and snowy by me!

I can't believe you had to rent a car and drive to a different airport. You are a great problem solver! :thumbsup2

Your daughter is so adorable. She looks so happy and excited in every picture.:) I especially loved the Big Annie/Little Annie interaction! What a great memory!

Looking forward to reading the rest!

Hi and welcome! Are you from CT (just guessing based on your name). Winter was awful and it seemed to rain all through spring. We are finally getting warm weather!

I have to say the rental car and drive to VA was my husband's idea. He was determined to get us out of here before the storm hit. He was not missing out on any Florida time.

Thank you! She loved the Annie interaction and still talks about it. It was a definite highlight of the trip.

Yes, she didn't want to go near the Beast when we saw them out and about. We had to check the times to see when Belle would be out alone, because meeting ehr twice during the trip wasn't enough. :rotfl:

I forgot how short the days are in the winter because I am so used to doing Disney in the warmer months when the days are longer. It was so wierd for us also to have the parks closing so early!

I live in NY now, but lived in MA outside of Boston for many years! As crazy as the weather was in NY, my MA friends got a few more storms than we did! Glad it is over (until next year)...

Yes, we definitely got tons of storms this year. I hope next winter won't be as bad. My parents couldn't believe how much snow we kept getting up here. Now I'm just trying to enjoy summer weather while we have it!

Agreed!

I think the towel creation is supposed to be a crown and the red dots are jewels?? :confused3

How funny she made you wipe off the kiss on her forehead before Ariel saw it.

Aw..poor Aladdin.

Although today I wa complaining about being too hot during my niece's elementary school graduation. I can't win with my weather comfort level. :rotfl:

Hi Tink! I was so confused on that towel creation. I was like.....:confused3 Maybe your guess is right?

She loved the kiss, but she needed to be perfect before the next princess came by. She talked about the kiss for a while too.

I know, poor Aladdin. He was banished to the exit walkway while the girls hugged it out. At least he was totally shunned by her, she did give him a hi-five. Maybe she'll actually be willing to pose with him next time.

We bid goodnight to Jasmine and Aladdin in Morocco, and continued along our journey around the world. We were debating whether we wanted to stay near the World Showcase to wait for Illuminations or go on some attractions. Being February, it was pretty dark out, even though it was only 7 something. Our little one had other ideas. She wanted to meet more friends.

Lucky for us, the UK was right nearby and there were some friendly animals just hanging out waiting to meet us – Pooh and Tigger! It didn’t matter to her that she had just met them a few hours earlier. There was only one couple in line and she practically ran to Pooh for her hug. There was no autograph book to slow her down this time.

ry%3D400

Tigger got his hug too.

ry%3D400

I feel like she is starting to look so big in this picture – not like my little toddler anymore, but a little girl.

ry%3D400

Time just flies by so fast! After saying goodnight to Pooh and Tigger, what do you think our little girl had in mind? Do you think she was done with characters by this point? Ha, of course not. She wanted to meet more friends. So we decided to head over to the Character Spot to see if it was still open and if there was a long line. We’ve never actually tried this area out before so we weren’t sure what to expect. I was always scared away by the long lines inside.

I peeked in and saw that there looked like a formidable line. However, the castmember at the front said it should only be about 20-30 minutes. Plus our little one had gotten a glimpse at who was inside and had decided that she could wait. So inside we went! I have to say that the line wasn’t that bad. I can always amuse myself by people watching and the little tv screens helped amuse our little one. She also loved the decorations and guessing which character held up which tv screen. For those of you who haven’t been inside the Character Spot, this is who we were waiting to meet.

ry%3D400

The fab Five! :thumbsup2

I think it was getting close to 8 o’clock by this point and our little one is usually in bed around 8/8:30. So seeing as how she had only gotten a tiny nap in, she was starting to look tired while we were waiting line. She was starting to get that glazed look in her eyes. However, she perked right up when she got up to the front of the line because who was she meeting first? The big cheese himself, Mickey!

ry%3D400

She was wide awake now and loving every second of meeting Mickey Mouse.

ry%3D400

Always interested in how they sign their names.

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

Then she tried to copy Mickey’s pose, but it didn’t work out quite so well since she still wanted to hug him at the same time.

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

On a side note, what’s with the backdrops here in the Character spot?

ry%3D400

Are they supposed to be in a futuristic type setting because they are in Epcot? Actually, as I look longer at this photo and the next ones, maybe they are all supposed to be images of areas within Epcot? Because in Mickey’s, I see the monorail, Test Track and segways. I get it now!

Then we popped over to say hi to Mickey’s doggie, Pluto.

ry%3D400

He does look like a cuddly puppy.

ry%3D400

I was wondering why Pluto is in a garden, but maybe that is supposed to represent the Land?

ry%3D400

And Minnie Mouse is in some sort of high tech room? Not too sure about this one.

ry%3D400

Once again, watching her sign the book.

ry%3D400

She LOVES Minnie Mouse as well, can you tell?

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

cont. in next post

Up next was Donald, and now I have no idea what the backdrops correlate to.

ry%3D400

Donald was looking extra fluffy today as our little girl watched him sign her book.

ry%3D400

Donald apparently decided that our little girl was wearing a skirt that was perfect for twirling and dancing in. Our little girl was more than happy to oblige.

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

Then it was off to Goofy for one last hug.

ry%3D400

Our little poser is loving all of these little photos.

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

And then after the excitement of meeting her friends was done with, someone was back to looking tired again.

ry%3D400

So we decided to say goodnight to Epcot and head back to our room.

ry%3D400

We even got a chance to see some fireworks from Illuminations as we walked out to the car.

ry%3D400

Up next: quick trip to Miami for some pre flower girl duties

We had a chance to do the Character Connection when there was NO LINE, I kid you not, Mickey was standing out in front of the entrance waiting for visitors. Unfortunately my boys were past the age of getting excited about characters, they were more interested in getting to the Land asap for a ride on Soarin'

Donald does kinda look like he just got out of the bath and went a little nuts with the towel drying doesn't he, lol!

As always, super cute pics!!

Time does fly by too fast but all these beautiful pictures will capture those moments and help you remember when :goodvibes

What a fun night!

Just now joining in and love your TR!! Your DD is Beautiful and you really got some GREAT pictures!!! Do you remember what you ate at Akershus? I didn't make and ADR there for our upcoming trip because I had heard the food/choices weren't that great...but it makes me sad we don't have a princess meal for my DD :( Oh well. Last year we ate at CRT and while the experience, princesses, castle was AMAZING...the food left much to be desired.

Such adorable pictures with the characters! It looks like she had some great interactions with them! :)
Seeing Mickey would be enough to wake me up, too!

No line?! I would have sent the boys on ahead to get in line for Soarin' while I said hello to some friends. I have been known to knock people out of my way in my younger days to get to Mickey. Yes, probably not something I should be proud of. :rotfl:

Thanks! Glad you are enjoying the pics.

What a fun night!

i think that all fo the photos and videos are actually helping my daughter remember everything too. She loves flipping through her autograph book and looking at pictures.

By the way, when are you guys headed back to Disney? We may be heading to Orlando in Aug. and I am trying to convince DH to a day at Disney if we end up going. I can't be in the same city and NOT bring my daughter there!

Hi and Welcome! I am glad to have you on board! I don' totally recall what we ate at Akershus, but I remember that we looked into the menu on the Allears website before booking it. I am the pickier eater of the two of us and I was okay with the meal. I just like that we had a princess meal and it was only 1 TS credit. But you can always try 1900 Park Fare too if your DD likes Cinderella. There aren't otehr princesses but I hear the interaction is fabulous and the food is good. We actually had that booked and then changed because we weren't sure our daughter would like the stepsisters and stepmother.

Such adorable pictures with the characters! It looks like she had some great interactions with them! :)

Thanks! Like I have been saying all along, there are a ton of character pics. Maybe that should have been my title instead - something about how we saw more characters than anything else.

Seeing Mickey always gets me excited. My daughter would get mad at me if i tried to get in the photo with her.

We will be there Aug.29- Sept. 2nd. Just a quick trip before Caitlin's classes start back up :)

There is no way you could be in Orlando and skip WDW! I'm sure you'd convince him! :)

The character spot backgrounds have always befuddled me too. Why are they so busy? Why are there so many cell phones floating around in there? I guess just a plain background was too boring...

I am all caught up finally! We have never gone to the Character Spot. Not because I don't want to, but because the line is always incredibly long! Do you just keep moving to each character when you get to the front of the line or do you have to wait in a line for each one? It would be a great way to get in a lot of them in one short time, but the line would be 45 minutes and Todd would not wait for that.

The pictures are adorable. I was cracking up with the inappropriate picture with Tigger. I can see how hugging can be difficult for a small child if they don't squat down to her height. Hilarious!!

Awe, more sweet interactions with your cutie and the characters. I agree, I'd rather have simple backgrounds. Especially I'd I'm going to add a border. Most of those are busy too and it's too much with crazy backgrounds.

A suggestion: On the day you want pictures, open Epcot, and after they lower the rope, go straight to Character Spot. You can go through all 5 characters in just a few minutes. You move down the line from character to character, and sometimes there is another character, Belle or Alice for instance, right outside the door in the hallway before you go back outside.

LilAnn - I'm enjoying seeing your precious little girl soaking up all of the Disney fun. Brooklynn (almost 5 year old granddaughter) is a champ at going up to hug characters and pose for pictures, but Bella (just turned 2) wants little to nothing to do with them. She likes to watch from afar. We're hoping that when we go this time (Friday! :cool1:) she'll have watched enough to be comfortable enough to join in herself.

:thumbsup2 to Aladdin and Jasmine for handling things so nicely for you guys.

I'm also in the camp of those Character Spot backgrounds being a little too busy.
