We're Staying OFFSITE! An October '14 PTR!

Ooooo---I want to try San angel inn sometime too! I think the menu looks yummy, but I'd pretty much eat Mexican food all day, every day from anywhere if I could!

I love all your purses! So much pretty-ness! I have my first Vera Mickey bag (midnight with Mickey) that I finally started using (didn't want anything to happen to it!) and am LOVING it! Aahhhh, purses and shoes.....:cloud9:

I had a reservation there only once and I cancelled it. I couldn't help it, but I've wanted to get there ever since, if only for the atmosphere! Here's hoping you get a good seat!

I hope so too, but I really do love the ambiance of the Mexico pavilion so I think it will be cool just to be sitting down at a table eating in there. If it wasn't going to be lunchtime I'd have a margarita, but even one of those would be too much for me at lunch. I've never been a daytime drinker.

Thank you! I like the Veras too - I kept picking one up and putting it back down on my May trip. I had pretty much talked myself into it but then just decided against it for some reason - probably just because it was raining so much I was afraid it would get wet or something stupid. I'm sure I'll be looking at them closely again on this trip! Especially if I can't get my HM bag. I hope the HM bags come out early enough that there's time to restock before my trip; I expect they'll be out mid-September like the HM Smith bag was!

I'm glad you're using your purse. That's what we buy them for! I'm seeing some bleeding on my Charms purse, but I bought it to use it and I'm going to USE it! :thumbsup2

Yay! I hope you get a seat where you can see the river (but I'm sure you'll enjoy it either way - it looks like a really nice atmosphere). The whole pavillion really is very nice ... I could just sit there and look around, I wouldn't even need food...

Yay for San Angel resturant I have always wanted to try it but all of us are not real adventures eaters.

I love all your Dooneys! I love Dooneys but I have still yet to get a Disney one yet.

Ooooh! San Angel! Yay! Totally understand where you are coming from, less for the food more for the ambiance(kind of like Scifi!). When I asked the DBF where he wanted to eat this trip that was the first one he mentioned as it looked so neat on our last trip(The second one he said was Scifi! lol). So we're going for lunch, although the dinner looks more appealing to me but lunch works out better time wise.

And you could totally just order dessert! When I worked in a restaurant I had a woman order the creme brûlée for an appetizer as she wanted to make sure she had room for it! lol.

I love that pavilion too; I agree that I could just sit there and look around, but not even eat food. I may be doing this myself; I don't eat Mexican food, but we've always wanted to sit there and relax. :)

I'm not an adventurous eater myself, so I'll be having maybe some ice cream or something. But we've always said we wanted to eat there, so we're GOING TO.

Thanks for the Dooney compliment! I LOVE the DDBs! But I use a pretty small purse, so it's slim pickins' for me. When I find one I like, I LOVE it.

We're going for lunch too! I went to SciFi once but I had a terrible experience - something broke in their audio and there was a high screeching sound for about 5-10 minutes straight. I was about to leave when my food came - and instead of it being just turkey and bacon, it was just bacon. Yes, just a bacon sandwich.

Yes, I will definitely order a dessert if I can! I like the idea of it being an appetizer to "make sure there's room". HA!

Hi!
Just caught up on your PTR! Your plans look great! :) I really like the idea of your 1900 Park Fare surprise, glad you were able to get the reservation!!

I would LOVE to go to Disney with my Mom, she hasn't been since I was probably 3 years old! I think we should change that.

:goodvibes

Thanks so much for commenting! The 1900 PF is no longer a surprise - I figured if I was going to take up our time I should verify Mom even wanted to do it first. She's also excited after I told her about the stepsisters. Hope it's a good time.

My mom loves Disney; I'm so glad we travel well together! :) Mom/daughter trips are great, especially as adults!

Just some rambling.

Has anyone seen the new paint scheme for TTA? Here's my picture from 2012:

Here's the current color scheme after the refurb, compliments of ******** blog; I couldn't put the image here because it violates forum rules (i.e., it wouldn't allow me). Man, ORANGE???

I'm thinking of the possibility of renting points for my extended trip, and it reminded me of this picture:

These are the curtains in AKL. Aren't they amazing? I would stay at AKL again, I'm just not sure if I'd do it without a car. But I think that I might try to stay there this trip...?? I can't decide! I changed my airfare, so I'm definitely staying the extra three days. I guess I can look into points and see what's out there now that I have a decision made.

If I change from Pop to AKL, will I lose my FP+ when I make them? Probably, huh?

Here's my favorite picture I have ever taken at WDW:

I love the lone person in the middle of the screen, walking towards MK. I love the CR in the background. And I love the suggestion of the monorail. It's truly my very favorite picture, even more than pics of me with family or even alone.

Also, did you hear that they extended the Frozen stuff at DHS through September? Man, I REALLY hope they don't have that when we get there. I am NOT interested in the extra crowds, and the way I have our schedule we wouldn't get to ever see the fireworks anyway, so...

I love this picture! It's so peaceful, and it has elements of Disney without being obviously Disney.

I saw the pictures of the new color scheme, I am hoping it looks better in person.

Such a beautiful photo!

Thanks; it's definitely a favorite. I always just really liked the guy walking alone in the middle of the picture. It was SUCH an early morning (as you can tell by the sun!).

I hope it looks better in person too; I think it very well might! I liked the greens and blues together but I'm going to withhold judgment until I see it in person in October!

Thanks! :goodvibes

I am all caught up!

How fun that you get to do all this traveling with your mom! I love that! I really hope to take my mom with us on our next trip, but we shall see, she is always working. Boooo work.

Plans look good, and I think we will probably be crossing paths. As my family will be in matching clothes and a lot easier to spot with the giant stroller and all you MUST look out for us! I have a feeling you two will be moving at a much faster pace and a little harder to spot! But it would be so fun to say hi!!!

So you have 1900 PF & San Angel Inn booked, right? And then your Ultimate tour that looks AMAZING (Im jealous) too! Sounds like a fun trip!! And then a little solo time at the end, can't beat that!

Oh wow, that is quite the difference on the paint scheme there at the TTA! Oh well, as long as its up and going by the time we go, I could care less what the color is, but I am bummed they changed the voice overs again. Sigh...

Subbing now so I don't miss any more plans! :cool1: popcorn::

I do NOT like the new colour scheme. Orange? The blue was tranquil and soothing and nice. Orange is jolting and contrasting and juvenile. Not a fan in this context.
Love that picture! It feels exciting, like you know it's early morning and you know what's to come!

Thanks for coming over! Yes, Mom and I travel together when we can, especially to Disney, but we've been other places together too (Ft. Lauderdale, Miami, San Fran, Chicago). My mom is definitely one of my very best friends and I'm so looking forward to our trip.

I think we might cross paths too! I will let you know when I'm able to tack down everything on my end and compare it to your plans!

Yes, we're going to 1900 PF and San Angel Inn at the Mexico pavilion; I hadn't even stopped to think if we need to make some sort of ADR at US/IOA on our fourth day! I'm also trying to get Tomorrowland Terrace Firework Party tickets for "our" last night, but so far no dice. I have a feeling I'm out of luck there. Just waited too long.

Yes, I need to see this TTA color scheme change in person; I am hoping the change to the voice overs was just a glitch on the first couple of days back and it will be back in its' entirety... We'll see soon enough!!

I'm not a fan either but I have a feeling when we see it altogether it might be good. It might look like the orange parts are the flames from Astro Orbiter; that COULD be cool. I want to see it in person before I get too disappointed. And we both will be seeing it in person soon enough!

Thanks for also liking my picture. Something about it makes me happy. I had it as the wallpaper on my phone for a long time.

First obviously I want to say = rest in peace, Robin Williams. Such a talented man, and such a good reminder to be very kind to everyone you meet, because we're all facing a hard battle.

Ok, so my FP+ 60 day window opened recently for my onsite stay, and for fun I decided to try setting up FP+ for my mom and I. What could it hurt? And WHAT DO YOU KNOW?! IT LET ME!!

Our offsite trip isn't supposed to show up until 30 days ahead of time, but it let me add both my mom and I to FP+ for the days leading up to my onsite stay.

At best, we keep these FP+; at worst, they see what happened and strip us of them 30 days out (which would be sad, but I know it may happen).

So here's the FP+ for my trip!

1) Arrival Day: MK: PP at 4 p.m., HM at 5 p.m., BTMRR at 6 p.m. This is a MNSSHP night that we are not attending, so we need to be out by 7 p.m. I think we will make it in time to hit PP! I am trying to get 7DMT here, but that will be VERY unlikely with our abbreviated time availability. After this we're going to DTD to SHOP.

2) We're going to Epcot in the morning and don't have to ride Soarin', so I didn't make Epcot FP+. Instead, I made HS FP+ for that night. We have Muppet Vision (a favorite), then TSMM, and TOT rounding out the night! We will probably queue for TOT a few times. :)

3) The next day is our Ultimate Tour, so we will be doing FP+ at Epcot that night (which is the park we don't visit during the tour). I have JII first, then SE, and Soarin at night. We MIGHT stay for Illuminations, but probably not because....

4) Day 4 is US/IOA day! We have the express pass here - the one that doesn't have limits to use and we can use it over and over if we want. Early morning; Mom will be driving since we'll be on the highway!

5) Day 5 is our MNSSHP day! I did get a 7DMT on this day (we'll also be riding it on the tour), plus HM and BTMRR. These are the rides we really want to do; others will be ridden as time allows between the shows and fireworks and parade. Whoo hoo!

6) Day 6 is what I call snoozer's choice. We are going to sleep in and decide when we get up. I may make a DTD reservation this night, just in case we go, but I think Friday night would be pretty crazy at DTD. We'd cab it regardless. We might need the relaxation. But we'll decide when the day comes.

7) We are either doing AK or HS this morning - we'll decide later. We'll open there, so I didn't make FP+. Another reason I didn't make FP+ is because we are doing 1900 PF at 4:40 that night and are going to go to MK that night afterwards (going to valet at GF and then take the monorail over!!) so I wanted to make sure that on a busy Saturday night we'd get a few favorites in. We got HM, SM, and BTMRR in place for this night after 1900 PF, starting at a 6:10 window - that should be plenty of time, right?

8) Day 8 is the day my mom leaves. We have no plans on this day either - pack up and check me into my hotel, and maybe mom and I will go swimming at Pop, or to DTD, or to a park... if we go to a park, it will probably be MK or HS.

9) First solo day. I have plans for whatever park in the morning (possibly AK, since it will be undervisited the week before) and then Epcot at night. Another Illuminations, this time with a beverage since I won't be driving! (My mom can't drive at night.)

10) Second solo day - this one is up in the air in the morning (I will probably be parked out by this time, so I may hang out and swim at the resort), but my FP+ are set for MK at night since it's open later. I will catch BTMRR, PP, and rounding out with a nighttime ride on 7DMT!!

11) Final day and checkout. I have no idea at this point. I will sleep in and set my FP+ from my phone before heading to a park - probably not MK or Epcot, since I'll be there a ton. HS seems likely. My plane doesn't leave until late in the day, so I'll be hanging out at a park until around 2 p.m., at which time I'll head over to pick up ME!

So those are my plans! I'm still trying to adjust our time for 7DMT on our MNSSHP night, and searching for a FP+ for 7DMT for our first night (we might just get in line at 6:55 and wait 'er out; we're anxious to try it, but it might be cool to ride it on the tour for the first time!).

I hope I'm doing the right thing by scheduling so many FP+ at night. I know it means we can't get more, but it seems to fit in better with our schedule, and I don't want to miss out on FP+ I want because we're in another park in the morning.

Wow, looking at this all typed out -- WHAT A TRIP. Can't wait!

Sounds like a great plan!

That is cool that it let you go ahead and make fastpasses.

Yay for FP+ being DONE! I think you ended up with some good ones! I don't think it would erase the ones it let you make for your mom and you. I don't see why it would! So fingers crossed on that!

Your trip sounds very laid back and relaxing...lol, the opposite of mine! :rotfl:

I can't believe that you got to make your FP+ selections for the beginning of the trip too - that's so awesome! I can't imagine they'd take them away from you once you've already made them.

Your selections look great! I don't know if you'll be able to get a 7DMT FP+ on your first day, but waiting on line may be worth it, assuming they're still letting people on the line right before it closes (I imagine they probably will, but I've never been there on a night when it closes early for MNSSHP, so I don't know if they cut off the lines earlier those days).

Sounds like it's going to be a great trip!
