We're Staying OFFSITE! An October '14 PTR!

Well, this next race is my first real race longer than 3.1 miles & if I hadn't started training like a crazy person for ToT, I doubt I would have gone farther either. I wish I could run 3 miles in 30 minutes.

I hope a spot opens up for you!

My last trip in July, I pretty much just used my cell phone for all pictures save the meals inside of EPCOT. If the choice is a not so good digital camera versus the phone, the phone is the smarter choice as the photo quality is probably just a good if not better.

My trip report from last fall had a lot of days to it (& 3 trips) - If I can pull that off you can pull off 11 days!

What time are you aiming for on the ToT run? I can guarantee you if I was running that far I would not be aiming for a personal best!

You're probably right about the camera. I'm just worried about it getting wet if we have a lot of rain. I'm trying to prepare for everything and you just CAN'T!

I went back to read your trip report from last fall and I found that I already read it! I was lurking on it when you were writing it, I just never said hi. I especially remember your pictures of the zombies at HHN and the "blood shot".

I'm aiming for 2 Hours & 15 Minutes. As I've never run this far, it doesn't matter on the speed, as it will be a personal best no matter what! :rotfl2:

Its good to know people still read if they don't post. I remember towards the end of that trip report, I was wondering if I should even bother as it didn't seem many were reading then.

There is still a chance we may do HHN but they still haven't announced all the houses so until that is decided, we aren't committing.

You can't prepare for everything - but rain that time of year will only last about an hour or two at most but you won't be outside for that amount of time in the rain so you can always get pictures inside - just make sure you bring one of those power stick chargers & you should be set!

Books are the worst to pack! They are so heavy you either need to spread them out in big boxes or use small boxes. Thankfully when we moved it was 5 minutes down the road so I would fill up an old suitcase or two and make a delivery every day and just empty the bags out and bring'em home for the next night. Not an option for longer moves though so I wish you the best of luck!

Anna and Elsa seem to be having that staying power! I'm especially interested to know if Disney is planning a sequel. I'm thinking call it 'Melted' and Elsa meets a guy who controls fire/heat!

I vote take the camera just incase. As soon you don't bring it and get their you'll kick yourself.

You can totally do a TR for that many days! The posts can be as long or as short as you want, but if you leave days out there will probably be a riot! lol

You've got a point about it being a PR no matter what!! Good luck to you!

I remember writing my first trip report and no one was commenting at all, but my views kept going up. I just kept trying to plug away, but you want someone to comment. I don't know why I never commented on yours.

My biggest concern is that there will be a hurricane at that time and the trip will be very wet. I have everything else figured out except keeping the phone dry. I do have a waterproof pouch, but my phone is almost too big to fit in it. I have a Droid Maxx and the battery life is incredible. I took it on my May trip and took pictures and filmed videos and made phone calls and STILL had over 70% of my battery left at the end of every day. I love this phone!

When do they announce the HHN houses? You couldn't pay me to go to HHN! MNSSHP is more my speed.

You are so lucky that you could pack up and move a little at a time! This is a major move (over 300 miles) and I only get pretty much one night to pack. I am so nervous; everything has to go perfectly. Then, I have a moving pod so I have to pretty much stay up all night to make sure no one breaks into it!

It's Disney, so you KNOW there's a sequel in the works. I mean, how many Cinderellas are there now, four??

I am definitely thinking about taking the camera regardless, just as a backup. Better safe than sorry. We're flying SW, so I know I can pack whatever I want when my bags fly free!

I never finished one of my TRs (for my first solo trip; came so close!) so I hate to start something I can't finish, but I guess what does it matter, right? It's just a TR. I'd like to have it to read later, like my other ones!

Since I've been packing today, I ran across some things and pulled some things out in order to properly pack them so they'd be available for our trip. Most of my stuff will go into storage, so I have to think about what's going where.

First, I know what shoes I'm bringing!

There's actually another pair I want to bring too, but eight pairs are probably too much, right? :wizard:

Regardless, these shoes are in the "pack last and unpack at the new place" pile.

I got a family photo of my DDB.

I can't pick a favorite, I love them all. I probably use them all equally too, even in the winter. I'm not the type of woman to only use a white purse in the summer - I love my sketch crossbody satchel and use it year round!

I found and sorted my Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom cards:

I won't take all of these at all; I am planning on doing some sort of mounting of these to a poster board but I will probably take my key card and get two more sets of cards between mom and I. Always hoping to get cool cards!

I went shopping today (the landlord was showing my place; that was WEIRD) and look what I got!

It has the enchanted rose on the back.

As I was putting some finishing touches on my place to make it presentable to someone who might want to rent it, I found that the local hooligans broke my window! There is a group of about 20 children who scream at all hours of the night and play behind my apartment building, and they play soccer up against the wall that my bedroom faces. I've asked them not to do it, but they still do, and finally broke not only my screen but my window as well. I was SO ANGRY when I discovered it; I've been saying for weeks that they were going to break my window and it finally happened. Still NOT HAPPY. The landlord called the police and I ended up chatting with the nice officer who came by to get all the information - turns out that there have been many, many complaints about these kids. Glad to know it wasn't just me.

I definitely notice a lack of parenting around where I live. It's very disappointing. I am very ready to move.

I keep checking every day for a Dessert Party reservation; I don't think I'm going to get one!

I am still up in the air about doing the Epcot After Hours Wind Down. All four are still open for my date I would want to do it (me only) but I can't decide between La Cava del Tequila and Rose and Crown. I'm not sure what is being served at Rose and Crown - if it's beer, I'd want to do that one for sure, but if it's some sort of wine flight then I'd rather do the tequila. It's inexpensive, but I still am not sure. This may be one of those things I end up putting off and then wait too late and get knocked out of the running. The big reason I want to do this is because I love Epcot when it's empty; paying $35 for a drink, some snacks, and an empty Epcot on my way out is appealing to me. And we'd be out of there early enough that the buses will still be running - though man, Pop's bus stop is pretty darn far away at Epcot, isn't it!?

Alright, time to go out for my run.

lol, now I don't feel so bad about feeling guilty about taking three pairs of shoes on our trip!! :rotfl:

Aww, pretty bags! :goodvibes

Love your cards! I can't wait to get our first set and play!

And keep checking your dessert party! Maybe at 45 days out when others are cancelling before their trip needs to be paid in full you'll get lucky! Fingerscrossed for you!

It is weird when people are looking through your apt to rent it. I hate it, and I'm paranoid about who it is and if something might slip into their pocket when the Super isn't looking (As I said paranoid!)

Hope you had a good run!!

That is a lot of shoes. I don't think I've ever brought enough shoes - I'm going to end up bringing my running shoes, my tennis shoes, flip flops, black dress shoes. Thats it!

Love the D&B collection!

Yes I need:

2 pairs of running shoes - in case one gets wet (learned this the hard way last trip!)
2 sandals for wet weather (learned this in the same trip as the lesson about the running shoes)
2 sandals for dry weather
1 pool shoes

and I'm thinking of bringing one more pair of sandals....

I have the Halloween and Christmas party SOTMK cards too; they're my favorites, after my Maximus card. :)

I do hope someone cancels - I'll DEFINITELY be checking at 45 days out, thanks for the reminder.

I've never had my apt shown before; I am the same way - don't be taking my jewelry or anything else. I hid some things, but my most valuable item - my computer - can't be hidden. Of course it's so large it can't be carried out in a pocket either.

Did 3.5 miles on my run - I was just complaining I couldn't go farther than 3 so I decided to take it a bit further this time! Still took me 45 minutes but I walked some of it.

Love the D&B collection!

How can you only bring four?!? What if it is rainy every day? Lol, these are the things I think about. My running shoes are doubling as park shoes, both my current pair and my last pair.

I'm looking to add two more to my collection this trip. I'm nervous that neither will be available or I won't find the placement I want. I had a dream they had the ddbs at Costco and I was just piling them up in my arms! Ha maybe I'm over thinking this. ;)

I can switch between the tennis shoes and the flip flops. Worst case, there is a hair dryer or I buy a $30 pair of Flip Flops from the store. I live in FL though so rainy weather is the norm so you learn how to deal.

I assume Haunted Mansion is one of the two you are looking at adding, whats the other one?

I am so sorry! I didn't know you had started a PTR! And so long ago! I knew you were thinking about not writing one because you didn't want to disclose some things. I'm gone to catch up now and I won't miss any more!

Yeah I think I'm just overthinking it. My last trip, I wore my tennis shoes and there was a downpour - I made it back to Pop and had to dry them out with newspapers for three days before they were dry enough to wear again! I'm afraid of something like that happening again.

Yes, HM for sure - either the tote or the wristlet, I need to see them in person. My other must-buy is the new sketch letter carrier; it's a LOT roomier than the regular letter carrier, and it has my favorite rainbow zipper too! Plus you can make it over the shoulder instead of crossbody. I'm so nervous they won't be there by the time I get there, I really want one. I'm on a FB DDB group and they keep selling there but I really want to pick mine out in person...

Hey there! Yeah, not mentioning my dates this time around but I couldn't resist talking about my trip anymore! You get so many great ideas from other people's PTRs, too!

I figured I'd get up to departure day and just be like "ok, I'm leaving guys! Off to Florida!" :rolleyes1

Anyway, good to have you! I'm enjoying your Germany mini-TR on your PTR; I hope there's more to come?

This guy is driving me crazy:

He knows something is up; he's been through a few moves in his life, so I wonder if he knows we're going someplace.

Aw, poor fella. Cats are soooo intuitive. I bet he has a sense that the winds of change are blowing.

First, I know what shoes I'm bringing!

:rotfl: That's awesome. I was thinking two pair of sandals would be plenty for my trip. After reading your posts and seeing your pics, that now feels woefully inadequate :rotfl2: .

I bet he knows for sure. He's always been very on top of things. :rotfl: Seriously, though, he's acting very clingy which is not really like him. He follows me from room to room too. And the look he gives me while I'm packing is like a death glare!

Ha, two pairs! Double that and get back to me. After my May trip, I feel like one can never have too many shoes! I just don't know how I'm going to pack them all. Maybe I'll take over some of Mom's suitcase too.... :rolleyes1

Or even better, "Hey guys! I'm back!" :lmao:

Yes, more Germany to come! Today, if I can manage it!

Just a quick update - and I DO have a real trip update for once, not just an update about shoes and purses and such.

We're eating at San Angel Inn Restaurante!

Yes, I know it's not the most highly reviewed dining establishment in WDW, but to be honest, every trip we've made together on the Mexico ride (going all the way back to childhood), someone has made a remark that they want to eat at that restaurant.

I figured as long as there's something Mom will eat we'll go there this trip, FINALLY. She looked at the menu today and said "let's go!" so I made our reservation.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for a seat where we can see the river, but I'm not holding my breath. I also hope they'll let me order off the kids menu, as there's definitely nothing on the adult menu I will eat. If nothing else, I guess I could have the cheesecake! ;) We're not going for the food, after all, we just want an excuse to sit in the Mexico pavilion and relax!

Anyway, vámonos a San Angel Inn restaurante!

I had a reservation there only once and I cancelled it. I couldn't help it, but I've wanted to get there ever since, if only for the atmosphere! Here's hoping you get a good seat!
