We're Sailing to....Disneyland? Lots of Pics! GANGSTA KINGDOM 8/31

I never thought I would be a crocs person...I think they're hideous!

BUT...they saved my feet on my last trip. My feet never hurt once the whole time we were there!

I know! I thought they were just gardening shoes! But after I saw the Mickey Heads, I had to get a pair!

Just a quick thought - the kids just came back from a road trip to Tacoma - 7 hrs from here on a good day - their first real road trip with 2 babies!

They are pretty sure they want to fly now. :rotfl2: I reminded them that we have the trip broken up quite well, and flying would be $2000 more than driving, and we would have to skip Six Flags. They seem to think we can fly here to John Wayne to San Fran and back to here for the same price as round trip. I don't think so.... I'll let you know what we decide. This was supposed to be a budget trip because we already had the cruise turned Puerta Vallarta booked.... :rolleyes1

After all that planning? Hotel booking? Money saving?:headache: :scared:

Keep us updated....

Okay, actually it was DS who was quite frazzled by his little family - DDIL and I feel we'll be okay - so after investigating, we could fly SW pretty reasonably, and use the vouchers for a suite at the Courtyard there at the convention center for the last two nights, but the clincher is, to get affordable flights, we would have to DRIVE 5 hrs each way.

We got him convinced that driving 5 hrs to fly 3 hrs, spend $1000 more, plus rent a car really wasn't worth it - score one for the girls! :dance3: So we're still with our original plan!

Hi we're in the "thinging about it stage" of planning a trip to DL this fall. we went to WDW last Sept our TR is ... Half a Ton of Big Guys Takes on the World ... So I hope I get some great ideas from you.

It takes a woman to be the voice of reason!

Girls rule and boys drool! Ha! Ha!

Thanks for coming along! I started reading your TR - looked like fun - then I didn't subscribe and forgot what it was called! I'll come over there.

My kids have all gotten used to 12 hour trips at least twice a year from the time they were babies, so it's totally do-able. And I haven't left any of them by the side of the road, yet!

I know! That's what I told them! We used to do 13 hr trips with our two boys when they were babies - 19 mo apart - But of course their children are different! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Yes it is true..lol

Just a quick note to keep my thread up and running! I know I don't have a whole lot going on right now, but I appreciate my readers:grouphug:

I called my DB in Bakersfield yesterday - we plan to spend the 28th with them and BBQ, swim, catch up. Then, they may pull their RV down and stay near DL and tour with us! They have two adorable little boys - actually 9 and 11, but small for their ages - we would love to have them come with us - provided they can put up with all the "tiny tot" stuff we're doing! :thumbsup2

I went online and ordered DH some new running shoes today - he'll probably wear them in the park. I ordered some new TEVA sandals and flip flops to trade off with my crocs. I'll post pics when they get here!

Have a great week, everyone! I'm off to Atlanta for a convention on Tuesday - going to a roaring 20s party - I'll post a pic of my costume!

Hope you're having a great time at the convention......

I did have a great time! Sorry I'm having such a hard time catching up on all the threads - I actually had work to do when I got back! :goodvibes

BTW, how do you get the title of your link to BE the link? I read how, but I couldn't get it to work. Thanks.

Update! We will have company at DL! I called my DB in Bakersfield to see if he would be there when we come through - they decided to pull their 5th wheel to an RV park near DL and join us!   We are excited to have DB, SIL and their two adorable boys joining us! DGS loves the boys! We may have some separate touring time, as the older boys will want to go on more "big" rides. They are actually 10 and 12, but small for their ages, so they seem younger. They are always so good with DGS!

Hey Tammie!

Great news about more family being able to join you! Now, does this screw up any of your ADRs?

Thanks Cammie. We aren't that excited about the restaurants in the parks as we are at WDW, so the only ADR we'll be making - at the 60 day mark is for Goofy's Kitchen the first night! I'm going to ask DB if they will be joining us before I call. There are alot of fun places to eat dinner on the two streets surrounding the resort area, so we are going to check those out:
Joe's Crab Shack
Mimi's
Cheesecake Factory
P.F. Changs
Tony Roma's

We ate at Rainforest Cafe when DGS was 18mo old, and he was terrified! :scared1: We had to take turns waiting outside with him, so we'll skip that one this time! :rotfl2: We do like Blue Bayou, but this is our squeeze in budget trip, so I guess we'll do that one another time, too!

:cool1: Whoo a Disneyland pre-trippie for me to read. Looking at your itinerary I do have some comments.

On your first Disneyland day, what time does the park open? You really should plan to hit Fantasyland first at park opening, do Dumbo and then Peter Pan, Tea Cups.

Ok I have lots more to comment on your park touring plans, but I've got to get ready for work, so I'll be back later this afternoon.

I'm at work, but I had to edit because about half way to work it hit me that I had made a very embaressing error in what I was talking about this morning.

I still will be back this afternoon with park touring suggestions, I just had to let my coffee kick in before I start talking about which rides are in which parks.

Have you ever been to P.F.Changs? I love that place. We had a few in NJ; but only one in Boston. Past few years, more are popping up around here. Was so excited they went into the mall by me that just had a major renovation. Now, I can get my fix - the sea bass w/sauteed spinach - !
