We're on Par!?

I agree! I was looking into this too, you may find this website interesting:

Thanks! The only difficulty with buying in the States is the financing. I will have to look into that as I don't really have $25,000 sitting in the bank. If all else fails my American grandparents can take out a car loan in their name and I will just pay it off that way. We shall see.:scratchin

There was a news story on CTV yesterday talking about people going to the US to buy cars. Apparently a few of the auto makers have now come out with a policy that they won't allow a CDN resident to buy a car in the US.

I can't remember all of the automakers that have set this new policy in light of the CDN dollar, but I do remember that two of them were GM and Toyota.

Before you head south you might want to double check that they will sell it to you.

In the Halifax Chronicle Herald this week there was an LL Bean catalogue with a special free shipping offer for Cdns. Maybe I "need" to go check out their sale section.

We are paying off our cruise on Monday. I want to pay TODAY but I know it takes a couple of days for the credit card co to catch up in exchange rates.

Is there a code?? I went on the LL bean site and didn't see anything for free shipping.

That would be easy enough to get around. I would just have one of my American relatives buy the car and then sell it back to me.

Not sure if it's "geographical" as it was in the Hfx paper...it's an LL catalogue number on the back, I'll dig it out and post it later...
