We're Official DVC Members!!!!

We just bought a 230 pt resale contract at OKW for $64 pp through the Timeshare Store!! Woo Hoo!

We received our Guidebook from DVC yesterday, so I called them this morning to confirm that we are indeed in their system!

We have 230 pts. that expire in June 2003, but since we will be unable to use them before then, I had DVC bank the eligible 50% (115 pts). We are going to try and sell/rent out the remaining 115 pts.

We are planning our first DVC trip to OKW for Dec 2003. We are very excited!!!

I just posted something on the DVC board. I saw something on the travel channel about DVC. Now, I am really excited about it!

We have never looked at this stuff before. Was it difficult?

I doubt we will buy into it this year, we just got back from WDW.
But, would like to know more about your experience.

We have a couple of friends that are DVC Members, and they have raved about it. We never really considered it, though. But about a year ago, we received a postcard from DVC with an offer we couldn't refuse -- a discounted room for 3 nights and a 4th night free at a Moderate or Deluxe Resort. All we had to do was go to the DVC sales presentation.

We went and met with Gib McCain -- very nice, and no-pressure.

When we got home, we investigated resales, on the advice of one of our DVC friends.

We looked at the various resale sites on the web and found what seemed to be a really good deal for 230 pts at OKW. It was a relatively painless process -- it just took a long time, about 2 months or so.

kgforce, I believe you can save those other 115 pts with your one time only special banking. This is for someone who might have forgotten to bank on time and I think you can use it. You can only do this special banking once so if you want to try call your guide and ask how it works.

Hopefully someone will explain it better on this post.
