Logan is racing in the Webelos I division. Leah is racing in the siblings division. Lenny is racing in the leader's division. I get to work the concession stand. Oh, well...

It's gonna be a long day at the Clearview Mall!! We just got back from the Boy Scout First Aid Meet - Troop 400 cleaned house (unfortunately that is not our troop).

Good luck. I have worked at the council Pinewood Derby event for five or six years. I have learned a great deal from the one nice man who checks the cars (our council weighs the cars to the gram instead of the ounce) There are some neat things you can do to increase the speed.

Instead of pixie dust, try sprinkling some graphite.

Hehe, is this Pinewood Derby weekend?
Our son's RAs group from church also had theirs last weekend and this one. He placed first speedwise for our city last weekend, and then placed 2nd today for best looking car statewide. (He placed 1st statewide last year.)

My DS didn't do well in the district race today....oh well, there is always next year. He had some problems with his wheels all touching the ground and although DH tried to fix it last night, it was a sight to be seen since he just had surgery yesterday on a broken finger and doesn't have full use of it -- not to mention that most of his hand is casted. It was a sight seeing him with the two boys trying to help him hold/hammer/fix the car.

What did happen at our race today was all of the Wolf cars ran and then somehow the computer got unplugged. They had to re-run all of the cars over from the top. It made for an extra long event!

I remember the first car my son and I made. The wheels fell off in one of the later rounds. The next year he won the competition.
