We're not going to WDW this year - yeah right!

DAY 5

According to my credit card slips we spent Day 5 at MGM. It must not have been anything spectacular, because I just do not recall what we did! Wait, wait! I do remember that we ate at Primetime Café and sat next to a very nice family from England and that the CM brought us a free serving of S’Mores for dessert. I also remember another big thunderstorm, that fortunately, did not last long and took place when we were at lunch, so it didn’t really effect our day. For those of you looking for Day 6, please scroll back to post # 120 and post #122 to see the excitement of that day!

Wait... I just remembered...I think this is the day we went to the Disney outlet store! The store was fine and I got a great minnie mouse fleece pullover for $10.00! But the really cool part of the trip to the outlets is that we passed the shrine to me. Yes we passed the "Mary QUeen of the Universe" church....and guess what? Yup!!! my real name is Mary!!!! Unfortunately my DH refused to stop the car to get a picture of me standing by the sign. At least I had the proof of my status for my kids. I also wanted to stop by the gift shop to collect some memorabilia and ask for the profits seeing as I am the QUeen of the Universe, but DH flat out refused! He just doesn't understand!:sad2: Next time I'm driving :car:

DAY 7

We were all up early on day 7, because this was the day that we were going to Typhoon Lagoon with the Salz’s. In the summer there are early morning Extra magic hours at the water parks so resort guests get to be a typhoon lagoon at 8:00 a.m. We all decided to drive rather than take the busses, because who really wants to get on the bus with all of their beach stuff and ride back on the buses all wet. So we all met in the lobby early in the morning and off we drove to TL. We walked into the park as it opened. At 8a.m. it is plenty hot in Florida to start water rides without worrying about getting cold when you get out of the water. We rode all of the rides, some of them a few times and all, with little or no waiting. Yup I even rode the wedgie slide. Ya gotta love extra magic hours at the water parks!

After riding all of the slides and rides, we spent time switching between the lazy river and the wave pool. The waves in this pool are strong. At one point I heard a woman calling for help. She was a rather large woman and just could not get to her feet before the next wave would come and wash over her. The old lifeguard in me took over . We were in the shallow end of the pool. I ran over her to through the waves and helped her to her feet. She had to lean on me a few minutes to regain her balance and her breath. When she was ok I walked her to the edge of the pool. Luckily she was fine. So just a warning, watch your kids and yourselves in the wave pools. I spent a good amount of time sitting on the benches that are cut into the side of the wave pool, letting the waves come to me and cool me off. I can’t imagine anything much less lazy, or much more fun and relaxing.

We had lunch at the leaning Palms and stayed just a bit longer in the wave pool and lazy river. We did have the pleasure of seeing a snake cross one of the bridges across the lazy river and then go in to the river for a swim….eek. I was done in the lazy river for the day then!!!!!

Soon after lunch, the park was pretty crowded and the lines were long so we decided to leave. We went back to the Boardwalk where the girls spent time at Community Hall making T-Shirts, while LizzY and I went down to DTD to do a little bit of shopping. Then we all met back at the Boardwalk and over to the contemporary for dinner with the Salz’s at Chef Mickeys! Remember how wonderful our waiter was at Crystal Palace, well, unfortunately the waitress we had at Chef Mickey’s was the polar opposite. I have to say she was horrendous. She never cleared our dishes and we had to practically trip her on her way by to get her attention to get a drink refill. Because we were a party of 9 the tip is automatically added to the bill. I truly think that because of this she did absolutely nothing for us, knowing that her tip was predetermined. Little does she know that the waiter at the CP got a nice big extra tip because he was so wonderful. The food at Cm’s was good, but unfortunately the service was horrendous. We aren’t a tough group to please, as we are pretty easy going. It’s a buffet, we don’t expect incredible service, but I don’t think adequate service is too much to ask! The good news is we were with the Salz’s so we had a great time despite the service.

Wow you werent' kidding you did actually post the trip... I'm very proud of you... :woohoo:

Sounds like you and LizzY had a lot of fun shopping.. I'm still waiting for my souvineer.. :rolleyes1

I can't wait to try CM it sounds good.. I am going because TOT says its great...

I love the lazy river now you are gonna have me looking for snakes the whole time. Thanks a lot...

Great tr pd and it even was in regular ink. :woohoo:

Shrine to You.....:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

A snake in the lazy river!!!!!:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: I guess that means no waterparks for me!

I think we had the same waitress at Chef Micke'ys in 2005. It got to the point people near us put their empty plates on the empty table to the beside us.

Must be the same. We had plates piled up. I mean there were 9 of us, so just everyone going from the dinner to dessert would mean a pile up of 9 plates, even if no one had returned to the buffet line for more dinner (which, of course, we did do!:rotfl: )

See posts 120 and 122. I'll remove the invisible ink!

Good lord. . . I already read those. You and your green hair breaking stuff in honor of NSalz! I was thinking the new updates were from this trip. . . :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

So, when do you start the NEW TR????:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

 They still don't know who you are!!! :sad2: Too bad, if they showed a little more respect they might have gotten better souveneers!

David Hasselhoff would've been sooooo proud!!! ::yes::

Now see if you would have had the picture of you in front of the shrine then she would've bent over backwards to wait on you. Probably would've asked for your autograph too!!!! Make sure dh knows the error of his ways so this can be avoided in the future!!! ::yes:: :teeth:

Great TR!!!!

Time for another update!

DAY 8

This was another magic kingdom day for us. Well it started with an absolutely wonderful special meal. We had breakfast at CRT in Cinderella’s Castle. We made ADRs for 8 somethingorother so that we could get into the park before opening. I love early reservations for just this reason. Great photo ops with the park practically empty and the opportunity to walk slowly up Main Street USA. When you check in at CRT you are given a card for your photo. A photo with Cinderella is included with the price of the meal, and for parties of 5-8 you get two photos. SO you wait in line and then they take your photo with the princess herself. We had one picture taken with the entire family and 1 with just the DDs. We then went upstairs to the restaurant where out waiter took very good care of us. We ordered our juice and coffee and were given 2 baskets of pastries and muffins. The meals at CRT are preplated and although I’ve heard some complain about the meal quality, I absolutely loved it. The stuffed French toast is especially delicious. Tink wasn’t into the meal too much. It just didn’t appeal to her, so our waiter relaced her meal with the biggest bowl of fruit and yogurt I’ve ever seen in my life. Tink loved that. Kids to age 9 are supposed to get wands or swords, but even though my DDs were 10, 12 and 14 at the time, the waiter gave each of them a wand. There is a little ceremony with the wands at the beginning of the breakfast. They also each received a light up wishing star magnet.

The princesses then visit each table and really spend quite a bit of time talking to the guests. They are amazing, they never break character. Sleeping Beauty commented that she was surprised that the table next to us had 5 children, she commented that she wished that she had a brother or sister. The fairy godmother came to our table and told us all about how she is the one who made Cinderella’s dress. We were also visited by Snow White and Belle.

They brought us our photographs and when showing them the CM noticed that LizzY's face was partially hidden in the picture of the DDs. She told us we should go have that photo retaken after breakfast and said she would let the photgrapher know we would be coming back. We didn't have to ask for this the CM noticed on her own. I probably wouldn't have noticed until we got home. SO after breakfast we went back downstairs and had the photo taken over again. While we were waiting for them to bring the pictures to us DH took Tink out to fantasyland and she rode some rides. The park was just opening so there were no lines! When the photo was ready I gave them back the set that was being replaced and they said we could keep that set as well as the new set. Maybe I should sell my extra castle picutures on e-bay!

OK I admit I can’t remember exactly what we did the rest of the day, but I’m pretty sure it involved IASW, Splash Mountain, Pirates, Jungle Cruise, TTA and the carousel of progress and Dole Whips in the morning. We then went back to the boardwalk and the girls went to community hall and made kites. Later we went back to the MK for extra magic hours…more pirates, night time jungle cruise, peter pan’s flight, the carousel splash mountain and hot dogs at Casey’s.

Thanks for the update! in 2005, CTR was DH's favorite meal....we went at lunch and it was Delish! MMMMM Hot dogs at Casey's and Dole Whips! (can you tell I'm hungry?)
We need to do an early morning ADR in MK one trip...We usually do CM or Ohana before MK, but I would love to see a fairly empty Main Street.

That must be it!:lmao:

Thankd Jess! Hey you wrote that with a southern accent! :rotfl: :rotfl:

:teeth: Ya'll will have to get used to my southern accent.

;)
Yup, that's probably it!

Hi Jessie!

Great TR PD, that's cool about the CM noticing the pictures for you.

Howdy!
OT: NO WAY! We live VERY VERY VERY close to Baltimore now!
Great update Pd!
