We're headed back! And this time...I'm NOT pregnant!-We leave TOMORROW!!

I'm so sorry to hear about your computer, that really stinks! I hope Emma feels better soon!

Great PTR!
I am sorry about your computer, that just stinks!
I think it is great that ya'll will be able to a 'no kid' disney trip.
Emma is just adorable!!!!:cutie: I love the picture of her with the bluebonnets.
I have family that lives in Dallas & I used to stay a few weeks with them in the summers when I was younger.
I love your Lady & the Tramp shirt.
And, the pink dress that you're wearing in your DTD picture, I'm wearing the exact same one in my TR!

Hey all! Sorry it’s taken so long for me to post. Had some major issues around here the last week or so. But just to let you know, things seem to be going good now.

First off, most of you probably read my that computer died. :guilty: Granted, it was my fault for spilling a glass of water all over it. The store said there was no way to repair it and all the files were lost! Pictures of Emma, documents for work, Disney, school, etc. Everything!! I was so bummed. But a friend of mine said he would take a look and attempt to recover the lost files. He took the computer and managed to save quite a bit!! :yay: I haven’t had a chance to look over everything, but I’m so grateful that most was salvaged (note to self, ALWAYS have a back-up for your files).

The next bit of drama was more serious. I briefly mentioned that Emma had been running a fever for a number of days (almost a week). At first I thought it might have been from her vaccines, but after so many days we got into the doctor’s office Tuesday morning. They took her temp and did a catheter (no fun!) and thought it appeared she might have a urinary infection but wouldn’t know for a couple of days. The doctor gave Emma a prescription and sent us on our way. So we went to Walgreens and waited in the parking lot for the medicine to be ready. I looked in the back seat at Emma as she started to fuss then she started to seize again! I know some of you may remember she had a febrile seizure in February from a viral infection, well she was having another one in the car in the pharmacy parking lot. Being alone, I became scarred and called 911. Anyone who has experience febrile seizures with their children or knows of them, they are very scary for parents/adults to watch but usually harmless to children. Their temp rises too fast for their little bodies to handle and oxygen stops going to the brain for a moment. They are apparently very common among young children and now that Emma has had two she is officially febrile seizure-prone (meaning she may have another one, but the great news is that children usually grow out of them by the time they're 3 or 4). I do have to mention when we arrived at the hospital her fever was at 105.8! I felt so horrible that she had been so sick! Long story short, what the doctors thought might have been a urinary tract infection turned out to be e-coli in her urethra! :scared1: Horrible sounding, isn’t it?! Fortunately, she’s on an antibiotic for it and is doing MUCH better! We just had to give all those who babysit Emma a reminder that little girls REALLY need to be clean down there and that baths are mandatory everyday!

Needless to say, I haven’t had time to check the DIS Boards or think about Disney World lately. But I promise to get back on the wagon soon. I really appreciate any prayers anyone is willing to offer for us (specifically that Emma will have no more seizures and that we can handle the emotional stress and financial burden of these past few months) and am grateful for everyone still tagging along on my PTR! I promise to get things going again, especially since we only have a few weeks left of school! I hope everyone has a wonderful day and a great Easter!

OH MY GOODNESS!!!! Your poor baby!!!! How scary for you! I'm happy that the doctors were able to find out what was causing her fever and sickness. Poor thing. Wow. Don't worry about us here, you have more important things to think about.

So sorry to hear about Emma!! How scary for you! :sad2: I hope that was her last experience with the seizures!! ((hugs)) to you!!!

I'm sorry about your computer too, we have back up hard drives we try to keep everything saved on, I'm always so afraid of loosing the stuff on my computers! :scared1:

Amanda I am so sorry about everything that has happened but so glad to hear Emma is okay after all of that! That had to be so scary especially being by yourself in a parking lot. Is she doing okay on the antibiotic?

Poor Emma, I hope she is doing better now. You must have been terrified having to call 911 and being by yourself.

Glad to hear you were able to recover some of the stuff on the computer. At least you had a bit of good news.

Poor Emma! That was have been so scary for both you and her. Glad to hear she's doing much better now.

I never backup anything on my computer either. I'm sick of buying memory cards though so I think I'm just going to upload all my pictures to photobucket so I know they're there if I need them!

Sorry to hear about your comp. That really stinks :( Mine had a virus on it not too long ago and crashed but my cousin was able to fix it. I never ever delete pictures off my memory card though and this is exactly why!

Thanks! I know, I used to NEVER erase pictures from my camera or phone, but I felt kind of like a hoarder. Just goes to show ya, eh?
:eek:Sorry to hear about your computer.

I hope Emma feels better soon. That shot of her in the flowers is beautiful. :goodvibes

Glad to hear you like Garden Grill. I saw an opening on the May cancellation thread the other day and booked it. I am a bit nervous about the food, but it looks pretty good.

I think you'll like Garden Grill! Just don't expect too much then you won't be disapointed! :lmao: But seriously, we really enjoyed it last time! And the characters were great!

I'm so sorry to hear about your computer, that really stinks! I hope Emma feels better soon!
Thank you! She's doing much better!

Thanks! Do you ever come to Dallas these days!
I thought the same thing in your TR when I saw the dress! Gotta love Old Navy!!
:thumbsup2

Sorry to hear about your computer! Dang kids anyway. Gotta love them.

Thanks! I'm using a very old (and vveerrryyy ssssllllloooowwww) computer right now just to get caught up on things. Not saying that we'll buy a new computer any time soon, I mean we've got Disney to save for! :snooty::rolleyes:

Thanks! We're staying on top of the antibiotic (and making sure she's as clean as can be after every diaper change!)!

Thank you!
I know, I need to invest in some sort of back up system for my computer. You always think it won't happen to you...

Thanks, Nancy! I think that was the worst part, being by myself. Last time DH and my mom were here tending to Emma while on was on the phone. She is doing much better now, back to her normal & playful self! :goodvibes

The good news is that I did save quite a few pictures to photobucket and some to facebook, but not all of them. I just need to buckle down and have a back up system for my new computer (whenever I can afford to get one!).

Thanks so much everyone! :grouphug: It was a horrible experience. But like the doctor said (and I really want to believe him!), the kids don't really feel anything, it's just more tramatic for the parents (ya think?!). I was struggling pretty bad the first couple of days after it happened, just reliving the experience. But I have to remember to stay strong for Emma! If she ever has one again (praying that she doesn't, but ya never know), I may feel inclined to call 911 but will hopefully not need to take her to the ER again. These are times when I'm so impressed with emergeny people! They always manage to keep cool and not panic. :firefight Just gotta think calmly and rationally next time, if there is one.

I'm still waiting to download my files from my old computer. As soon as I do I promise to talk more about our trip! Thank you all so much for your words of comfort and prayers! I hope everyone is having a wonderful Monday!!

Oh! I hope that Emma is okay! I know what you mean about some instructions for baby sitters..... I was really shocked when I watched my SIL cleaning up after a diaper change and not following the strict front to back and never reversed rule. :scared1:

big hugs for your little cutie pie!

Glad your friend could get some of your files back. It so sucks when your computer dies!

Hey everyone!! Hope you all are having a wonderful day! And Happy Mommy's Day to all my mommy friends!! :lovestruc

I wanted to thank everyone for your well-wishes for Emma! She is back to her normal, active, playful self! We had a rough couple of weeks with doctor's appointments and the waiting for results. Friday was the big day where Emma had to go in for a sonogram and tests to confirm the infection didn't reflux into her kidneys. She had to be sedated which was sooooo heartbreaking to watch! :sad1: But the wonderful news is that she is all better! :cheer2:

To add to the stress, one of our pups, Koda had a growth on his side. I was concerned and J too him to the vet. They are fairly confident it's just a fat-deposit, but they need to confirm it this week. Guess Koda needs to stop eating all the scraps from Emma!

I hope to do a Disney update today! Like I said, my friend was able to save most of my files including my Disney stuff! :woohoo: Now I can get back to thinking about our (badly needed) vacation!

I hope everyone has a great day! And I promise to post soon! :cool1:

Glad everything is well with Emma and hopefully Koda as well!

Happy belated Mommy's Day to you! :)

Hi, just caught up so read at the same time about Emma's illness and then that she has ahd the all-clear but I'm sure that was a pretty stressful time for you, hopefully after that, your laptop and your dog's growth thats the run of three over and you can look forward to Disney without any stress!:goodvibes

Thanks, Jenny! Emma is doing great these days (back to her normal, active self!)! And Koda is good, too! Just a fat bulge on his side (do they do lipo for dogs, haha, just kidding!).

It was a pretty stressful couple of weeks, but things have calmed down (thank goodness!). Summer is officially here for me and almost for J, so we are definitely looking forward to Disney! Thanks so much!

Hey everyone!! Y'all still there?! I know it's been weeks since I posted about our trip, even though I promised I would. But I do have some real reasons as to why I haven't updated, promise! First off, all the health drama here at the household. Just to let everyone know, we're all fine and well! Emma is good and healthy!! She's back to her active, toddler self! And Koda is good, too. He's just eating too many snacks between meals (thanks to Emma) and needs to exercise a little more.
Also, I finished my classes for the semester and got all my grades logged! :yay: Of course I still need to turn in some additional paperwork by the end of this week :headache: But nothing too serious.
And lastly, I think I mentioned that I wasn't offered any courses to teach for the summer thanks to the state education budget cuts (don't get me started), so I started to explore other avenues for me to make money. Something I've wanted to persue for the last few years but never had the time/money/etc. What is it, you ask?

Here's a hint

I have decided to become a yoga instructor! The training starts mid-June and is going to be INTENSE!! I mean, 5 days a week, 14 hours a day! But within a matter of weeks, I'll be certified to teach yoga!! Plus once I finish I'll have the biggest reward of all! A trip to DISNEY!!

Ok, now I need to post about our trip!!

Last we left, J and I hopefully will finish up a good, fat meal at Garden Grill then attempt to walk it off around Epcot (along with partaking a few yummy beverages in WS). We can't stay out too late since we'll need to get up early and hit up one of my favorite parks!

Hollywood Studios!! (or MGM as it always will be to me in my heart :lovestruc)
We'll hopefully get there extra early to wait in line again (which was not Johnny's favorite part)

IMG_1573.jpg

and then venture over to the one and only...

We timed it pretty good last time. Ride first, then get FP's for later. My goal is to beat J this time! Or at least get close!!

Other must-rides for us include Rockin' Rollercoaster and Tower of Terror!! I missed both of these last time (a reminder on how I spent a large part of our trip, haha!)

IMG_1624.jpg

and I'm sure to ride them this trip! :thumbsup2

Another must do, stopping off at Starring Rolls!!!!!
starringrolls-backstageexp-172.jpg

I'm leaning towards the Butterfinger cupcake or the Red Velvet (insert Homer Simpson drool sound again). Have I mentioned my issue with sweets? Yeah, I have a problem. Hi, my name is Amanda. And I'm a sweet-aholic. Ok, moving on.

I also hope to hit Star Wars since I missed that one last time, too. Plus J had a really crummy seat (all the way over to the side) and wasn't real impressed. We may hit up a few shows like Indiana Jones or even something fun like Beauty and the Beast. We're bascially free to do what we want once we get the mandatory rides out of the way! :thumbsup2

We'll probably take an afternoon break/swim/nap then head over to Epcot for the evening since it's open late! I'm thinking dinner around WS (hello Tangerine Cafe!). But again, this afternoon/evening is free for us to do what we want. So we'll see where our mood moves us! Who knows, we may feel the urge to hit up Downtown Disney first then head over to Epcot! No plans and I am soooooo excited about this (as I'm sure J is too). You see, I am an over-planner and J is a no-planner, which makes us kind of perfect for each other! :cloud9::love: Although he has come to understand that Disney is a place that needs planning if you want to try and do it all. I've also compromised with leaving some free time. I mean, it is a vacation, right?!
Up next, plans for Day 5!!

Yoga looks like a good way to make some extra $ for the summer. :thumbsup2

TSM was great....we rode it while most of the people were at Fantasmic, so we had about a 20 minute wait. Very awesome!

Can't wait to hear your report on the new Star Tours. It was not quite running 100% consistently when we were there so we didn't get on it.

Wow, a yoga instructor. I am so impressed. That sounds like a cool way to make some money.

We were able to ride Star Tours last week and it is pretty cool. Much better than the old one.

We missed TSM though. I came down to getting a fast pass for TSM or ST or we figured since we haven't seen Star Tours yet we had to do that one. TSM had an hour wait each time we checked and other than one 30 minute wait we skipped anything over a 20 minute wait.

Yay! Glad you are back! Good to hear everyone is healthy and well. I am laughing though about too many treats for Koda. We are having that same issue now with our two goldens, wizard and ace. We took them to the vet about a month ago and were told they need to go on a diet. The vet was not real nice about it so I just reminded her that everyone packs on a couple extra pounds over the winter. Good luck becoming a yoga instructor! Your DHS plans look great. Your trip will be here before you know it.
