We're going to get married on July 17, which is our 17th anniversary (and Disneyland's 53rd). That way we get to keep our anniversary date the same.
I've been hearing several legal experts saying that even if the CA marriage amendment passes it won't apply to marriages performed between now and then.
However, there is a little issue. My partner's son is getting married July 25. He and his fiance have been planning this for over a year and we don't want to do anything to detract from their wedding. Sooo... we'll be getting married on the "down low" and will announce it a few weeks after his son's wedding.
Does that mean that we're eloping?
