Marathon Weekend 2026

Okay, I am really excited to start packing (we're leaving tomorrow). I am having a dilemma. Is it crazy to bring 4 pairs of shoes, knowing I am likely (but not guaranteed) to buy another pair at the expo? (I think I go through this every time we leave for a race weekend but, you know, marathon weekend feels different).
Me: only 4 pair?
I'll seriously bring 4 or 5 pair: 1 pair for each of the two races, a good walking-around-the-park pair, my driving to-from pair, and an in-case-of-rain pair.
Everyday Use, Fancy, Guest, Fancy Guest, Beach, Old, Bath, Kitchen.... (IYKYK)

Unclear if I'll buy any at the Expo; that would be new territory for me.

Also bringing 4 pairs of just race shoes, plus a pair for the parks. I may double up and wear my marathon shoes for the 10k if there is no chance of rain, but otherwise I'm doing a separate pair for every race.
I bring a pair for each race, plus 2 pair of park shoes, and a pair of post-race flip-flops, and maybe a pair of water shoes if I'm going when it's warm enough for a water park

Anyone know if the Brooks booth at the Expo (not the rD merch one) carries a ton of shoes or if I should go over to the store in DS. I need a new pair of Glycerines and figured at this point I might as well pick one up there. I could also go early AM over to Fleet Feet, I think the one near me was accidentally selling 23s early :)

SAFD Started driving yesterday 6ish AM from MA to GA, got some sleep, another 2 hours this AM, dropped DD and car at school, some shopping, organizing, picked up rental at DAB and pulled into wilderness lodge this afternoon. Can’t believe MW is here, time for some fun away from winter.

Data point for dopey bib 202xx pot was 3:32 full, should be solidly in ‘A’

Anyone looking for club early expo access and staying at wilderness let me know, I’ve got a couple open spots in the car

The Brooks expo booth is somewhat small and mostly clothing, with displays of the weekend shoes available over at the merch building. There may have been a small section of shoes, but I honestly didn't pay much attention. However, Fit2Run has a HUGE shoe section right in the middle of the floor usually, so you'll likely have some luck there.

Best of luck to everyone on their travels and races. I decided to take the year off but I’ll be back in 2027. Hopefully the weather treats you all okay and it’s back to being chilly next year 😊

As many others have said, if you’ve done the training, the hay is in the barn. If you haven’t, at least you’re at Disney and can enjoy as many miles as possible. Have fun y’all!

Manifesting this. MY SOUL IS PREPARED FOR THIS CHANGE. make it happen Dopey weather gods

I'm manifesting the opposite and hoping the forecast remains unchanged. At least one of us will be happy!
How about a compromise - cool at race time and warm at park time. The best of both worlds (IMO).

I’m sorry, I’m sure this has been asked.

Can I sign my waiver at bib pick up? I cannot track down my digital waiver for anything

The problem with this is that what you colder weather people consider “cool” is downright frigid to many of us southerners. You guys had your “cool” last year. Let this year be our turn to not shiver in the corrals. 😊

Some of us colder weather people have had to deal with a really early and cold winter and are ready not to have to bundle up to run ;)

Very important question- assuming my bladder gives me options…. Where should I use the restroom in Epcot? Any opinions on America vs Morocco? America looks far back on the map whereas Morocco is closer to the race. But America is the biggest? If I can wait to the one across from the Land, is there any advantage or disadvantage to do so?

The rule of thumb is don’t use the first bathroom. Because everyone waits for the first one 🤦🏻‍♀️

Just know that there is usually a line for the ladies room no matter where you stop making the course. Stop where you need to.

Another bathroom tip for women, if the women’s bathroom is full, just use the men’s. During a race no one cares.
