I thought I'd celebrate my 100th post by telling everyone about our trip to Toronto to see the Lion King production next Sunday. Our family is so excited. It will be a nice tuneup for our trip to WDW in January. Over the year we gave my DW's mother and father a 'ticket' to the show for their birthdays. You know how hard it is to buy gifts for in-laws :D. But we thought this would be a great present for them and a chance for them to spend some time with their grandkids (we all got tickets too, of course). I'll give a review of the show when we get back, for those who haven't seen it yet.

We're going in December as part of our traditional annual family weekend in Toronto. I was amazed at how booked up it is though - our seats aren't the best but I am sure the kids will love it no matter what. Have fun!

Congratulations on 100 posts and have a great time at The Lion King! I'm sure it will be fabulous as it sounds incredible! Have fun! :) :) :)

Dave get ready for a great time!:) It is sooooo good!!! My DB and DSIL gave my DH and I tickets for the Lion King for a Christmas gift last year and we got tickets to go this past June and what an evening it was! I have seen Cats and The Phantom too but The Lion King was the best production I've ever see.........so very much Disney-like (if you know what I mean)....LOL. Enjoy the show and please let us know what you thought of it....have a wonderful time!;)

P.S. My DB who isn't a Disney fan spent most of the evening laughing as it is really funny!

OOPS!P.S.S. CONGRATULATIONS on your first 100 posts!!!:jester:

Congratulations on 100 posts, Canadave!

I saw Lion King back in June and thought it was fabulous! The creativity is unbelievable! I know you will have a wonderful time! :)

We are thinking about taking our kids too. Can anyone recommend good seats?

We saw the Lion King when it first opened we tried for the first week but we had to suffice with tickets about 2 months later. We really enjoyed it I personally liked Beauty and the Beast better we saw that on New Years Eve in 1996 I think. We stayed downtown at the Metropolitan hotel and it was an incredible place we stayed there for 129 dollars a night we tried getting a room there this past winter and it was over 350 dollars. As for the people that asked for seating suggestions we prefer balcony seating t seems so much clearer from up there or even box seating if you can get it fewer people around you then. Well have a great time at the show you will love it.

PoohBWV, We saw Beauty & the Beast at this theater a few years ago and sat in the balcony. We could see and hear the show very well. I don't think there are many "bad" seats. We have balcony seats for the Lion King, near the front. I'll give you a report on how the view was.

Thanks to everyone for the opinions on the show. I'm even more excited now!

p.s. I was very impressed with the person from the theater who took my ticket order. There are 6 of us going and instead of giving us 6 in a row, he set up our seats as 3 seats in a row and the 3 seats right in front of those. Now we are closer together. It's the little things like this that make so much difference. (a Disney-like touch)

Hi Dave!!!!!
CONGRATULATIONS ON 100 POSTS!!!!

Michael and I saw TLK in Toronto last Spring. We went on a school trip and sat towards the back of the balcony but we ccould see everything perfectly. I think that there are actually parts of the show that you'll see better from the balcony. This show is absolutely WONDERFUL!!! We both loved it, and I hope to be able to take Len and Ginny to see it some time. I hope you all have a great time on Sunday! Kathy

Canadave - Congrats on your posting milestone!

I hope you enjoy Lion King as much as we did when DH gave me tickets this summer for my birthday. I went with a "well, it was a nice little kiddy movie so the play shouldn't be too bad" attitude and was blown away. Now I understand what all the hype is about. The costumes, sets, staging, and music were just spectacular. We had great seats in the centre section on the floor, about 10 rows back and had a wonderful view. (I think DH lucked into a cancellation on that one) I'd really like to take the children to see it too. Just remember to keep your eyes and ears open and swivel your head around from time to time - you won't want to miss anything! Have fun!

We saw it in August and it was fabulous! We've seen all the big plays in Toronto and even some in New York and this was by far the best yet. I got the tickets in November 2000 to give to the kids for Christmas. They were front row centre right behind the conductor--awesome! The only problem was to get these great seats we had to wait until August 2001 to go--9 months later--but it was worth the wait. We want to go back again but this time I think we'd sit in the balcony for the different perspective. We usually sit in the balcony and you seem to get a better view of everything on stage. But sitting where you could see the actors eyes looking right at you was a thrill, especially for the kids. One drawback to sitting so close, we found ourselves glancing down at the musicians during the play. Enjoy the play it really is Disney magic.
