Wow! I had to go back and read where I left off. It seems like it has been so long. This past week has been so long. I am glad to say though, that we should be getting on a plane bound for FL in 3 days!!! I say "should be" because the threat of Hurricane Ike is uncertain as of today. I want more than anything to be able to get the heck out of here. I hope we are able to get our wish.

Here is a recap of what went on the past few days:

Sept 1st - Monday

Hurricane Gustav rolled in quickly with fierce wind. DH has a wind gauge at his work and they measured 92mph winds. He was at work and I was at home with the three kiddos. We had power until about noon, and then lost it. I was able to plug into my neighbors generator and run my fridge and a few lights.

I wasn't able to video during the strongest part of Gustav. I was inside with the kids keeping safe.

We played board games at night to pass the time....I hate no electricity!

This was the line at one of the only open gas stations. Everyone waiting in line for gas for generators.

Anyhoo. We only have 3 more days, and I will be doing an update about that tomorrow, That is all the time I have for now. Things are still a bit crazy!!! Take care, and I hope that you stay tuned!

Wow, that's nuts! Virginia Beach got hit by hurricanes all the time but I have never seen damage like that.

Hello to all! I am sorry that my PTR has been neglected lately. That was never my intention, but this week has been crazy. With Gustav last week, that puts all of the last minute things to do on me this week. Things are pretty good though. The area is getting a little more back to normal. If we could get the stores to stay open past 7pm, we'll be doing real good

I have just about everything packed. Just a few things left and of course toiletries at the last minute. We're leaving tomorrow!!!! I can't believe that the time is finally here. All the planning, sneaking around from the kids, and code talk will end tomorrow! I can't wait to see their faces when they find out! I will video the whole "Reveal" so I can share with you when we return! After last week, we are more than ready for a change of scenery

I can't believe you leave tomorrow! So exciting! One good thing about the hurrican is it probably made it easier to keep the surprise from the kids - too many other distractions! Can't wait to hear all about it! I hope you guys have a truly magical trip!

I can't wait to see the reveal video!! You and your kids definitely deserve a break from all the havoc Gustav put on you all! I hope you have a wonderful trip and see some actual sunshine and NO RAIN!!! (the video of the wind was scary - and thanks for sharing your pics of the damage in your area.
