Yippppeeee!!!:dance3:

Can you tell I'm excited? I've been a faithful reader of the Dis for a while now but am new to posting. I love reading everyone's pre and post trip reports and have gotten some invaluable information, so I thought I would post as well to quell some of my excitement and hope that others enjoy...

The Cast:

DH, 34, Went to Disney for the first time when he was 24 and has been a huge Disney fan ever since!

DMe, 32, This will be my 11th time at Disney!

DD, 6, 3rd time at Disney! Wants to see Minnie, Minnie, Minnie, Minnie, and Minnie, and ride the bus. Other than that, she is wide open to anything.

DD 4, 3rd time at Disney! Wants to see Ariel, Snow White, Minnie, and ride Dinosaur!

Background:
We are really looking forward to a vacation. We had a LOUSY 2006 and wanted to start the New Year off right. Couldn't wait until summer vacation, so we decided to treat ourselves right. Yes, we were just at Disney 2 years ago. No, we haven't put away our 2006 savings yet. Yes, we are still in debt from Christmas. On the other hand, the kids are only young once, you never know what may happen tomorrow, we are not poor, and we might as well ENJOY ourselves! :rotfl: I've gotten the same reaction as others, "Disney again?", and I say "You bet!". My family and I always feel special in Disney. We've been on other good family vacations, but nothing compares to Disney. You can go there 100 times and still be completely thrilled by new experiences.

About this trip:
We are not celebrating anything in particular (although it is my birthday the week after we return home), other than looking forward to a good New Year and enjoying ourselves. I am a planner to 10th degree but am telling myself that I am not going overboard on this trip  We'll see. We just booked the trip yesterday, so I don't have a whole lot of time for planning. The kids want to see characters and parades and a few rides so I've promised myself not to rush to see everything. We will be there for a week and plan on doing one day AK, one day EPCOT, one day MGM, and four days MK. My next steps are planning the dining and packing lists.

Travel Plans:
Leaving in 17 days! :cool1:
Staying at the Pop Century Resort (first time)
Using the Disney Magical Express

Dining:
:confused3
No plans yet, but I know, I better hurry!!!!! :scared1:

Looking forward to:
The castle
Mickey
Minnie
Stitch
The atmosphere
No dishes to do
Not thinking about anything in the world but "which ride is next?" and "when does the parade start?"
The looks on the kids faces as they step into the park
The excited giggles that come only from my girls when Minnie waves to them
Not being at work
The fireworks
Housekeeping
Pirates of the Caribbean
The excitement of waking up and realizing you are still in Disney World
Mickey Mouse ice cream bars
Sitting on the curb waiting for a parade to start
The warm Florida sun (hopefully!)
Riding the monorail

On the other hand, the kids are only young once, you never know what may happen tomorrow, we are not poor, and we might as well ENJOY ourselves!

I very strongly agree with this! :thumbsup2

You are going to LOVE the Pop, and your kids will especially love it. This sounds like it will be a good report, can't wait to read more! :)

Tonight we are getting some of our things packed that we won't need for the next 2 weeks. I'm really excited because I just came back from a shopping trip at Target and got a bit creative while I was there. I bought make-your-own picture frames and will have DD's use them for their autographs from the characters. I also bought scrapbook items to make extra-special invitations for the DD's from Cinderella for the Pirates-Princess party. They don't know that they are going and will be so excited to think that Cinderella invited them!

How exciting to book a trip and know you are going so soon! A great start to your report! Can't wait to read the rest . . . popcorn::

Ooh, the make your own picture frame stuff sounds great!

Only 8 days left!

Thanks to the tips on the Dis, I've gotten together items for a "surprise" bag for the girls to open the morning they get up for our trip. (Side note: we have to get up very early for our flight - about 4am. Is it better to give them the bag the night before they leave? :confused3 ) Each bag contains: Disney crocs (so excited about this - they will flip! :yay: ), a package of neon glow necklaces (found these at the $1 store :woohoo: ), Disney Princess coloring books for the plane (also from the $1 store!), a box of crayons, a mini-pack of play-doh for the plane, and 10 $1 bills for spending money (I know we'll spend way more than this, but it will at least give them a chance to get the little things that they want without bugging us for everything). Do you think they'll like it??

I've gotten a bag together with some of the items for our trip, like 4 t-shirts that we made and the Princess dresses that they want to take - Cinderella, Snow White, and Ariel. Also in the bag are the little items (Purell, wipes, autograph picture frames and pens) that we've been buying the past couple weeks. My goal is to get the clothes together this weekend so that the night before we leave all we have to do is put in the last-minute bathroom stuff and close up the suitcase. Hope it works out that way! :laundy:

Lucky little girls. Look forward to hearing more! It's nice that your husband is a Disney fan, too.
