We're flying from Never Land to see Mickey! A June 2011 PTR Update 6/3 Leaving Today!

Wonderful PTR so far! Can't wait to hear more! :thumbsup2

Out of all the resorts, if I could pick the one I'd like to stay at most, it would be the Poly. We've just not been able to work Poly into our trip yet (but maybe next year!). I definitely don't want to book Poly unless we have a 7+ night visit (which we don't have time for this year), so we can really enjoy the resort and take advantage of all the scenery.

I hope DD9 will be as excited about WDW and planning when she reaches your age!

DIS meets are always a fun thing. Hope it works out and you get to meet up while you're there.

Thanks for joining us! I loved  our stay at the Poly last time (2008)!! I wish we could stay there this trip, but I guess it wasn't in the budget...:sad1: Actually, I really want to stay at the Beach Club one day! It would be sooo fun to be right by EPCOT!

Hopefully your DD will love Disney as much as all of us here on the DIS! I don't know how she couldn't!

They seem to be a lot of fun from what I've read! I can't wait to talk to Disneypolyprincess more to work out the details. We'll keep you posted on what we decide!

Just stopping by to say nice work on the PTR - I'm enjoying reading it. I hope you're able to get the scheduling problems straightened out soon! :)

Thanks for joining us! We're in the midst of trying to figure out the details from the "aftermath" of all of that blizzard nonsense!

Joining in! Loving it so far. :cool1: Let me know how you enjoy POR.. we might upgrade from POP.

Welcome! Thanks for joining us! We have stayed at POR on one of our previous trips and loved it! That's one of the reasons I'm not feeling overly sad about not getting to stay at the Beach Club!

I'm subbing! Lots of things in common for us...going in June, staying at POR, and living in IL! I just have to say that you write VERY well for a 14 year old! You must read a lot. They usually go hand in hand. I'm always impressed by young people who write well considering the fact that many adults don't! OK, taking the teacher hat off now! I promise I won't grade any of your other posts!

If you put "June" and even "POR" in your thread title you may get more viewers. Many will typically scan for a PTR that shows a commonality to their own trip. I usually do that myself.

Can't wait to hear about more of your planning! I have a PTR started as well in case you'd like to "meet" my family! :)

Welcome! Yeah we do have lots in common! Thank you! I do read a lot...actually, I want to be a teacher when I "grow up" so hopefully that will work out for me.

Maybe I will add something like June 2011 to the title....I'm going to do that in a minute! Thanks for joining us!

Big news! Dad called Disney either yesterday or today, I don't know which day. We obviously can't move free dining over a couple of days because the promotion ended, so we were trying to figure out what would work out since we don't get out of school until June 3rd now because of the blizzard. The CM priced out the same trip 2 days later with other promotions they were offering, but it added quite a bit to the cost of the trip without the free dining, especially since Thing2 and I are both considered adults. So what Dad decided to do was add two days on to the end of our trip! :cool1::banana: As of now, either Mom or Dad and Thing3 (kindergarten ends a day earlier than the other grades) are going to fly down in the evening on June 2nd so that we can check in and still get free dining. Thing2 and I considered just skipping out last day of school (I mean really, we don't do anything) but it's our last day at our respective schools (her last day at the elementary and my last day at my junior high) and we really didn't want to miss that. That means that Thing2, whichever parent stays with us and I will fly down in the afternoon on June 3rd. It's kind of sad that we won't all arrive together, but my parents promised that Thing3 wouldn't get to go to any of the parks until we get there. To make things even better, now we will actually be there on Thing2's real birthday! She'll turn 11! After a lot of work, here is what our schedule now looks like:

6/2: One parent and Thing3 fly down and check in
6/3: Parent and Thing3 have pool time, maybe go to Downtown Disney and the rest of us fly down to meet them
6/4: EPCOT (Via Napoli for dinner)
6/5: Magic Kingdom (Cinderella's Royal Table for breakfast)
6/6: Animal Kingdom (Boma for dinner)
6/7: Hollywood Studios and EPCOT (Rose and Crown for dinner)
6/8: Break Day (Chef Mickey's for breakfast)
6/9: Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios (Yak and Yeti for lunch)
6/10: EPCOT (Biergarten for dinner)
6/11: Magic Kingdom (Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner)
6/12: EPCOT (Either Coral Reef, Garden Grill or Les Chefs de France)
6/13: Magic Kingdom and maybe Hollywood Studios
6/14 (Thing2's birthday!): Magic Kingdom in the morning, EPCOT in the afternoon/evening
6/15: Go home:sad1: We are either not going to a park this day or maybe we won't go to a park on the 13th...I really don't know.

I'm kind of sad, Star Wars Weekends didn't make it into the new schedule...maybe if I rearrange some days...this is giving me a headache! So much goes into planning all of the details for a good trip.

Finally, we need 3 more ADRs since we added days and had to cancel one (for the 2nd). What do you guys recommend?

Thanks for listening to me ramble about my scheduling headache! Until next time, sayonara!

Awww well sounds like fun! And you got extra days lucky girl:). You might have to eat a dole whip for me after I leave :( hopefully we may meet up :):cool1:

I'm excited to get extra days! :cool1: I'll definitely have another dole whip for you! We had some in Hawaii this past summer, sooo good! What are your dates exactly?

Gotcha! It looks (and sounds) like our DIS Teen Meet is still gonna work out! :cool1::banana: Should we come up with a better name for our meet or do you like "DIS Teen Meet"?

Hooray for that :cool1::dance3: we can call it anything :) I'll go with whatever you would like to all it:D

:lovestruc you two are too cute. I want to be a Dis teen again....

...well, ok, no I don't. Going to Disney without parents is much too fun.

Thanks! It's usually my sisters who are described as cute! :rotfl: Going to Disney without parents would be fun, but I have fun with them. A couple of my friends and I decided after we graduate college we all want to go to Disney World or on a cruise together without our parents!

As I've found out, with adding two nights onto our trip comes a lot of dining dilemmas! Especially since Thing2's birthday is now during our trip and she wants to pick where we go for her birthday dinner. Finally I think we have it all sorted out...Presenting, ZFamily5's Dining Reservations!!

6/2: None
6/3: None
6/4: Via Napoli
6/5: CRT
6/6: Boma
6/7: Rose and Crown
6/8: Chef Mickey's
6/9: Yak and Yeti
6/10: Biergarten
6/11: Liberty Tree Tavern
6/12: Change of plans: Now either 1900 Park Fare or 'Ohana
6/13: Le Cellier for lunch
6/14: Either Les Chefs de France or Garden Grill
6/15: Crystal Palace

Thoughts?

Thanks for reading!

I am glad to see that everything is working out and that you were able to add the 2 extra days :cool1:.

I like the look of your ADR, you should have a great time, I think there is a nice balance with what you have chosen.

If Thing3 gets there 2 days early and isn't allowed to go to parks what are they going to do instead? Hang out at the pool? Go to DTD?
