We're Changing The Plan Again?? You mean there's a Plan? New TR Posted/Link Posted

I thought Innoventions was pretty boring too. We waited in the long line to do the piggy bank adventure and it was such a waste of time. There is a long line b/c you have to wait until there is an attendant to guide you through it, like you can't follow the directions on your own. There were empty stations not being used but they didn't have them open:confused3

I can't wait to see what the adults picked. Anything sounds better than the hot dog Caitlin managed to find in World Showcase.

Glad I didn't stand int he line waiting for the piggy bank then! I am ready to leave way before anyone else in places like that....maybe because I get bored so easliy!

Lunch was not fancy...but it ws good!! :thumbsup2

What are these tickers I see?!?!?!!? :yay::yay:

I get antsy if we spend too much time in Innoventions. I keep thinking that there is so much more out in the park that I want to see and do. It also doesn't help that I am so not a "gamer" and lose every time I try to play something.

This describes me perfectly! And especially with it being our last day! I wanted to get to WS!!

What are these tickers I see?!?!?!!? :yay::yay:

They are way too far out but they are better than nothing. DH has always agreed that he would go to WDW when I want to run the Princess Half Marathon so we will be heading there in 2014 for that. I debated on if we should do a WDW trip with it but as long as the Fantasy heads to the Eastern Caribbean that week, that is where we will be. We all enjoyed the cruise so much that I would rather spend the week with a happy DH on the Fantasy than a miserable DH at WDW.

I wish it was 2013 but I need to save for a bit, plus I am hoping 2012 will finally be the year we have another child. If that doesn't happen I am going to go back to school in the fall so either way, no Disney for awhile.

Caitlin and I are also going to head down for a quick 4 day weekend in Nov. 2013 to see the xmas decorations. DH will be happen since I won't bug him in Feb. about going to the parks while there for the 1/2 marathon.

I understand choosing where to have a happy DH! I can think of worse places of making him happy than on a cruise!

We are the same way with 2012. A big trip just isn't in the cards but I am hoping for one in 2013. But at least I do have a few days on our March band trip! Christmas is when I want to go again. I want to see the parks decked out so bad!

I left off with us heading off to World Showcase to find some lunch...so where to go? A few pictures as we dock.

And where did we choose to go??

IMG_3110.jpg

Germany!

IMG_3111.jpg

IMG_3112.jpg

IMG_3113.jpg

Sommerfest!

IMG_3114.jpg

This was the first time to attempt the food in Germany. Biergarten will be tops on my list next time! (I guess that answers where supper will be held!) So we order and there are so many options. It takes Madison and Chris forever to choose…..tick-tock-tick-tock……tick-tock-tick-tock……

IMG_3115.jpg

Finally they choose…..the Bratwurst. Actually we all choose the Bratwurst only some with Sauerkraut and some without!

We order and manage to find one of the few tables open. We maneuver it under an awning since it was still sprinkling some. A nice CM comes out with a towel and dries everything off so we can actually sit down.

Continued in next post...

This was an awesome choice! This food was so delicious! I would even pass up an ADR to eat here! The bread was so fresh and the bratwurst is not like what we get in the grocery stores here. It wasn’t too heavy at all. That was my fear that I would have a heavy sausage sitting in my gullet all afternoon. Nope…just pure happiness! And the desserts! Yummo!!!!!!!

So our food undressed:

with saurkraut

IMG_3116.jpg

and without

IMG_3117.jpg

and "dressed"

IMG_3122.jpg

For dessert we chose the Black Forest Cake Roulade

IMG_3119.jpg

And the Apple Strudel with Vanilla Sauce

IMG_3118.jpg

And the Cheesecake

IMG_3121.jpg

IMG_3125.jpg

We finish eating and head over to the other side of Germany and the trains. I love these. I like to get lost in the scenes and let my imagination run away!

IMG_3126.jpg

IMG_3127.jpg

IMG_3128.jpg

IMG_3129.jpg

You really have to love the way rain showers leave the parks!!

IMG_3130.jpg

IMG_3131.jpg

Japan is our next stop! And a special treat for my mom!!

IMG_3132.jpg

IMG_3133.jpg

IMG_3134.jpg

IMG_3135.jpg

We pass the candy making lady:

IMG_3136.jpg

Continued in next post....

Then we head into Mitsukoshi and straight to Pick-a-Pearl.

IMG_3137.jpg

IMG_3139.jpg

My mom has no idea anything about this so it takes her a few minutes to catch on to what is happening. Madison and my mom choose their oysters:

IMG_3140.jpg

IMG_3142.jpg

IMG_3143.jpg

Some of the settings (I actually had a carriage cage for my mom and an elephant cage for Madison both from e-bay):

IMG_3141.jpg

Then the production!

IMG_3146.jpg

IMG_3147.jpg

IMG_3148.jpg

IMG_3149.jpg

IMG_3150.jpg

IMG_3151.jpg

And we got twins again this year!!

IMG_3152.jpg

Having accomplished this special goal, we peruse the store some.

IMG_3162.jpg

After that we decide a break is in order and we head out of World Showcase. We make a stop at Mouse Gears (my FAVORITE shop!!). The clouds are beginning to look very, very demonic so I push everyone through. We need to go….hurry….hurry….too late….the bottom falls out! ….See how low the crowd levels are thanks to the rain!?

We hang out and watch a cute kid having a blast. Isn’t this the joy of every parent? Pay huge mullah to come to Disney, it rains and your kid gets the biggest kick out of the rain puddles! Yes, I believe it is TOTALLY worth every penny! Those rain puddles are lots of fun to play in at Disney….:rolleyes1

IMG_3163.jpg

So will the rain continue or will we get a break for a nice evening? Stay tuned!!

Those counter service meals from Sommerfest look good! Why haven't we ever tried those? Oh yeah, 'cause we have picky eaters in our group. ;)

We got caught in that rainstorm too. We stopped in France to watch the show so that we could get out of the rain.

Yummmm Sommerfest. mmmm Biergarten. Yes, put that on your ADR list for next time!!

YAY for getting twins at pick a pearl. Did you still put them in the cage, or did you make earrings? I would love to get twins!

Wanted to tell you two things that I thought of as was reading:

1) Hoop de Doo --- you can also catch the ferry from Magic Kingdom or Contemporary to Fort Wilderness. much easier than the bus IMHO

2) for Keith: I have learned from trial and error that the best thing to take for motion sickness at Disneyworld is an allergy medication, Zyrtec. It does not completely fix the motion sickness but it really helps keep it down to a minimum without making me all fuzzy headed like traditional motion sickness meds do. just a note for future reference ;).

Awww, too bad about the rain but it looks like the day wasn't a complete loss! The food in Germany is so good I agree! Biergarten is one of our can't miss places every trip. The atmosphere is so fun (you have to go when they're doing the shows) and the kids all love to get up and dance. Not to mention we waddle out of there every time cause there's just so much good food!

Mousegears is a great place to escape the rain! Love that store too!

Hope you get a rain-free last night in the World..................popcorn::

Sommerfest was Keith's idea and honestly I wasn't as sure as he was but much more willing than the kids. Once I ate there though I was hooked!

We probably passed you in France or there abouts since that was the way we headed out! It was a real gully washer!!

Once I got home and was reading other TRs that included Biergarten I kept kicking myself! It is definitely on my list for the next trip!

Since the twins were my mom's and she doesn't wear earrings, we went ahead and used the cage. I ordered another cage and my mom gave it to my sister as a souvenir so it worked out well!

Thanks for those tips! I wrote the Zyrtec down in my handy notebook ASAP! We always have Zyrtec on hand!

Biergarten is definitely on my list for next time and I hope we are there for the show! We ate at the German restaurant at Busch Gardens Williamsburg several years ago. I don't remember much about the food but the band was great entertainment! I am thinking Disney has to do things even better!! :thumbsup2

The rain really didn't dampen much for us. We just rolled with it and didn't miss out on much at all! Hopefully I will not stretch the suspense out too long! My days seem to disappear and then I realize how long it has been since I have posted! I don't have much left so hopefully I can move the story along!!

After waiting our the heaviest part of the storm we decide to make our way to the bus stops, dodging the still lingering rain showers. This pretty well sums up how we were feeling at the time:

IMG_3164.jpg

Soon we are back at POFQ. Madison and I take off for a few pictures around the pool.

I get reprimanded for being at the pool when it is closed….:rolleyes1 so we head to our rooms to rest and prepare for a fun filled (and hopefully dry) night at Epcot!! One last look at a rain soaked POFQ!

IMG_3173.jpg

Around 5 we decide to head back to Epcot. Our ADRs are at 6:30pm so we arrive with a little time to explore. First we make time for a Photopass pic!

Photo0190FourBySix.jpg

And YES! those are clear skies you are seeing!!!!

IMG_3175.jpg

IMG_3176.jpg

IMG_3177.jpg

We make a beeline for World Showcase…this time Canada!

IMG_3179.jpg

IMG_3180.jpg

IMG_3181.jpg

IMG_3182.jpg

IMG_3183.jpg

IMG_3185.jpg

IMG_3186.jpg

I have not seen the movie in Canada since I was in 6th grade (and we will not discuss how long ago that was!!).

IMG_3187.jpg

We make our way through the Canada Pavilion and soon we are waiting in the little sitting area.

IMG_3189.jpg

And soon we are in the theater! Don't these guys look pumped for the movie!?

IMG_3192.jpg

I will state simply that this has to be one of the best done movies in WS! I loved it and will try to go again and again! It really made me want to leave and go straight to Canada…and Martin Short was a great addition (And I really am not a huge Martin Short fan)!

Well, I was going to post more but the DisBoards server has not been my friend and now I must work! Plus I have noticed I did not finish sizing my pictures smaller so I need to finish that before posting more ginormous pictures! I will say good-bye for now but next up: dinner at Marrekesh!!

Aren't the grounds around "Canada" a beautiful place to just chill. I'm never disappointed. Can't wait to hear your review of Marrekesh. That's one place we haven't been brave enough to try yet.

Yay! I'm glad that you had clear skies for your last night in the World. Regardless though, you guys still seemed to have a good day with the rain.

I have to admit, I've never eaten at Sommerfest. I've eaten at the Biergarten several (SEVERAL!) times, but I'll have to put the CS on my list.

I do love the grounds around Canada! I even have a comment on it in the next installment! I think you may be surprised by Marrakesh! It isn't what you expect...but I will leave it at that or else my review will be given away!! :rolleyes1 LOL

Yes, even the rain didn't spoil our day! It was just there...we had a good last day which I was so thankful for!! Biergarten is definitely on my list! I think your TR or PTR was actually one of the ones that had me kicking myself for choosing Marrakesh over Biergarten!! :thumbsup2

We exit and I snap a few more pictures of the gardens which I really love:

IMG_3193.jpg

IMG_3194.jpg

You can always see so many little critters hopping and running around. i think they find these gardens just as lovely!! Onward we march out of Canada in search of food!

IMG_3199.jpg

IMG_3200.jpg

IMG_3202.jpg

If you recall I had made early ADRs at Les Chefs de France and I had cancelled that due to Keith’s preference to not eat early. So my choices in WS were Biergarten and Marrakesh. I chose Marrakesh since it was Chris’ favorite when we went in March 2009. I figured the belly dancer would also score some points!

We arrive in Morocco!!!

IMG_3203.jpg

IMG_3204.jpg

IMG_3205.jpg

IMG_3206.jpg

This is probably one of my most photographed pavilions at Epcot!

IMG_3207.jpg

We check in and barely sit down to wait before they call our names! We are handed our menus:

IMG_3214.jpg

Pictures around the table:

IMG_3217.jpg

IMG_3222.jpg

IMG_3224.jpg

And a couple of the restaurant itself:

IMG_3215.jpg

IMG_3216.jpg

IMG_3229.jpg

Keith ordered a Moroccan beer (I ordered the mint tea which is so good!!):

IMG_3230.jpg

Rolls are brought out:

IMG_3231.jpg

We also ordered the Seafood Baklava:

IMG_3232.jpg

Sorry about that guys….we were hungry and I thought about getting a picture after it was inhaled!!

The entertainment began, which is pretty fun. But we were way off from the action so that took some of the fun out of it. The pictures are pretty bad since I really had to zoom in!

IMG_3234.jpg

IMG_3235.jpg

Continued in next post...

The food came out just before the belly dancer which I think is unfair having to watch a belly dancer while stuffing my face!!

IMG_3241.jpg

IMG_3249.jpg

IMG_3250.jpg

Our food....
Couscous - the national Moroccan dish - steamed tiny semolina pasta; with Beef $27.99

IMG_3236.jpg

Shish Kebab - grilled tenderloin of beef with rosemary roasted potatoes and vegetable medley $28.99

IMG_3238.jpg

Chicken Kebabs - brochettes of chicken breast, olive salad and dried fruit sweet couscous $24.99

IMG_3239.jpg

Roast Lamb Meshoui - lamb shank braised in natural juices served with roasted eggplant puree, zucchini, capers lemon confit and tomatoes $27.99

IMG_3240.jpg

And then desserts:

Moroccan Symphony - Assorted Moroccan baklavas $6.99

IMG_3251.jpg

Marrakesh Delight - fresh fruit salad topped with mint ice cream, toasted almonds and orange blossom water $5.99

IMG_3252.jpg

Bastilla - crispy leaves of pastry topped with vanilla cream and sprinkled with cinnamon, powdered sugar and toasted almonds

IMG_3253.jpg

The food was okay…kind of blah. I seem to remember it better the time before. Mine basically tasted like pot roast over coucous…not my idea of a great final Disney meal! The Seafood Baklava, the desserts and the mint tea were the best part of the meal to me!

Keith was not impressed at all by the food. As a matter of fact he says he prefers if that restaurant is never added to our list again! It wasn’t terrible, just mediocre! Service was good, prompt and friendly. The atmosphere was good but the food just really did not hit the spot!

Dinner over, we head out to the shops of Morocco. These stores are some of my favorite to explore! The items are so eclectic and interesting!
I just love perusing this area!

IMG_3257.jpg

IMG_3258.jpg

IMG_3259.jpg

I wish I had one of these right now to rub and make a wish to be at WDW!!

IMG_3260.jpg

IMG_3261.jpg

IMG_3262.jpg

IMG_3263.jpg

IMG_3264.jpg

IMG_3265.jpg

The sun is beginning to set and our evening is quickly coming to an end but there is still a little fun left to be had!!

IMG_3267.jpg

The flowers and gardens in Canada have always been so very beautiful! They have to have a set of round the clock gardeners to keep it looking so pretty in the Florida heat.

I hate that your meal at Marrakesh wasn't as good you remembered. I think I hate it even more for you because in Keith's eyes, that's one more strike against Disney. :sad2:I've thought about trying a meal there but I'm pretty sure we wouldn't care for it much since we are semi-picky eaters.

That stinks that your meal at Marrakesh wasn't as good as it was the last time you had eaten there. We haven't eaten there since 2009, but it's always been one of my favorites. That's such a shame. I hate being let down like that!

Well......I have to say the food pics looked so good and I was thinking "Hmmm, maybe we should give it a try" and then your review.........meh. Too bad it wasn't as good as it looked. Do you think they've Americanized the food or that's really the way it would be served in Morocco? The restaurant looks pretty but I agree with you about the belly dancer!:rotfl:

I have not eaten at Marrakesh but DW and I ate at the Tangierine Cafe during our last trip. It was pretty good but I'm an adventurous eater so others may not like the cuisine. If I had known there was a belly dancer at Marrakesh, I would have definately had to try it....the restaurant, not the belly dancer! :lmao: Maybe if y'all had been closer to the entertainment, Keith might have liked the restaurant better? :rotfl2: You know what they say...location, location, location! :thumbsup2
