We're Changing The Plan Again?? You mean there's a Plan? New TR Posted/Link Posted

The next morning we hit the streets again and had brunch at a local street side restaurant. It is a buffet and was pretty good!

IMG_3620.jpg

Compared to my breakfast at POFQ on the final day:

IMG_2948.jpg

But the POFQ breakfast was really good! I am not downing it at all!

We made our way to Satchmo where we hung out for a while listening to the different bands

IMG_3630.jpg

and then we went to the Louisiana State Museum that has a Katrina Exhibit. It was a little disappointing since I knew so much more about Katrina than is mentioned. I guess they didn’t want to bring up anymore bad memories than necessary. The entrance was cool:

IMG_3649.jpg

And this is a sad reminder…

IMG_3652.jpg

But then you are off to the 2nd level and Mardi Gras! These are from the museum:

IMG_3653.jpg

IMG_3658.jpg

IMG_3654.jpg

And from POFQ!

IMG_2952.jpg

Not exact but the similarities are definitely there!! You get the idea....

And then the view of Jackson Square which can slightly resemble POFQ!

IMG_3659.jpg

IMG_3660.jpg

This is POFQ Jackson Square:

IMG_2931.jpg

IMG_2935.jpg

IMG_2936.jpg

IMG_2937.jpg

And I thought this was cute...

IMG_3664.jpg

And lastly in this post because I think it is just hilarious:

IMG_3668.jpg

These are the bathrooms in the museum. Yes you are seeing that correctly! The doors actually go into real bathrooms in case you are wondering.

And a few odd and end pictures...

IMG_3629.jpg

IMG_3615.jpg

IMG_3642.jpg

voodoodr.jpg

So the end result of all of this is to say that in creating POFQ, the task was well-done and there are so many similarities. POFQ is just a lot cleaner, fresher version of the real thing!!!

So….now folks we go back to the story at hand! Our last day at Epcot! Picture tour completed, reservations changed, and breakfast eaten we make our way to the bus stop. A few shots on the way to the bus stop:

It is a beautiful day in central Florida! Nothing could possibly rain on our day!!!

Up next: Epcot Part 2 (and much later another photo tour of POFQ!)

Very cool comparison pictures of the "real" New Orleans and the "Disney" New Orleans. It's been quite a few years since we've been to the New Orleans area and it was nice to see it post-Katrina.

I hate to hear that you had to cancel your dinner ADR but I look forward to seeing what replaced it.

Glad you enjoyed the comparison! IMO New Orleans seems nicer (friendlier) and even a little cleaner since Katrina. We love heading down several times a year. I used to live an hour away and we would go whenever we got bored!

I was only slightly disappointed in the ADR cancellation at the time but now that I have been home the disappoinment builds!!

So sorry for going for so long without posting! The Christmas holidays have simply taken me for a loop with all that has been going on! I don't know how many I still have around to read but I am determined to finish my story!! :goodvibes Hopefully January will be kind and I can get this last day or so completed in short order! So without further adieu....

IMG_2957.jpg

I tried to talk Keith into taking a picture of me by this sign:

IMG_2959.jpg

But he was too busy playing Words With Friends with co-workers. This was actually a quiet frequent occurrence this trip since it was a “new toy” for him! Whatever keeps him happy and occupied!! So while he walked here to play his next word…

IMG_2962.jpg

A nice CM took pity on me and snapped this picture!!

IMG_2960.jpg

IMG_2961.jpg

IMG_2963.jpg

I find something lovely about these balloons!

IMG_2964.jpg

While we wait on Chris to meet up with us I snapped a few pictures of an empty Sunshine Seasons area!

IMG_2966.jpg

IMG_2967.jpg

IMG_2968.jpg

Now that we have arrived we decide a trip to Living with the Land is in order.

IMG_2965.jpg

This is one of those attractions that draws me every time. There is nothing fancy or thrilling or exciting about the attraction but it is a favorite! It is a peaceful reprieve! One day I hope to do the Behind the Seeds Tour to get a closer look! Some photos of the attraction:

Continued in next post......

We exit LWTL and head over to The Living Seas.

IMG_2985.jpg

I love these guys!!! "Mine, Mine, Mine!!!!"

IMG_2986.jpg

IMG_2987.jpg

Nemo is our next stop! There is not a line at all!! We climb aboard the clam and take off. I make a poor attempt at capturing some photos.

Doesn't Keith look thrilled to be aboard the Clam-mobile?

Then we are out and about in the exhibit area.

The Manatees:

IMG_3011.jpg

A search for Nemo begins....

IMG_3012.jpg

Can you find Nemo?

IMG_3013.jpg

Why yes I can!

IMG_3014.jpg

And Dorrie too!

IMG_3020.jpg

One of my favorite lines is "Just keep swimming"! I use it constantly at work!!

After looking around some I try to find Keith. I look and look and look. He is no-where to be found. He decided he was over the fish and had headed outside.

Through the gift shop we go...

IMG_3024.jpg

IMG_3025.jpg

IMG_3026.jpg

Our next stop is a quick little jaunt over to the Imagination Pavilion and a visit with Figment.

IMG_3027.jpg

IMG_3028.jpg

IMG_3029.jpg

A fun little ride through Figment’s Imagination was next on our agenda!! This too was a walk-on.

My mom did not appreciate the “smell” section…… :confused3

Afterwards we briefly played with the activities in the exit area.

IMG_3048.jpg

IMG_3049.jpg

Honestly….IMO it was more fun when Kodak sponsored this but I guess that is how corporate sponsorships go….

We did have fun making pictures of one another!

IMG_3050.jpg

IMG_3051.jpg

IMG_3052.jpg

IMG_3054.jpg

We left the Imagination Pavilion and the kids wanted to play with the fountains. So we adults obliged and I snagged a few pictures in the process!

So where to next? Soarin', a Taste Test and an escape from some wet stuff!!

What a cute update....well despite the fact that Keith wasn't really "into it" early on. ;) It certainly looks like he was having a good time though when it came to pushing his own precious son in the jumping fountains. :lmao: Madison looks so cute trying to jump up and touch the water.

I have finally made my way back over....I am loving these days off this week. I JUST took a shower at 11 am having spent the morning Dising while relaxing in my new Tink sleep shirt, drinking coffee out of my mickey mug.

So funny how much you love TRex and want to eat in the ice cave. just SEEING the meteor shower pics and that red room makes me anxious. I think the food was good there but eating in that ice cave with the noise and the red lights just did me in the one time we ate there, and in a very bad way.

but I am glad you all liked it!

The cute bird sitting on the water serpents ear maked it even cuter!

so sorry your DHS evening ended on a less than stellar note. Rides like Star Tours make me very ill too so I can relate to Keith.

AK day...

I for one can totally understand leaving Keith to come when he was ready. I have learned from experience that dragging my DH to be somewhere he didn't want to be means ruining the experience for everyone. Nuff said.

Madison makes a great Alice. I LOVE the rabbit hole picture!

OMG ROFLMAO that Madison got so scared of the spiders! your poor mom! too funny though! have you been sticking little plastic spiders all over now?

How funny that those two guys were so scared on dinsaur! it was a fun ride, and I think Katie may have been scared....but she was seven!

yay for hoop de doo review!!! here is a tip, better late than never: if you are going from a park, take a bus to the wilderness lodge & then take the ferry to the campground. the ferry lets you off right near the hoop de doo restaurant and its a pretty ride. hmm i sort of forgot hddr....i will have to look at the oop price of this, though i am torn between the fun of the event and the noise, which may not work well for our friend Colin who will be going with us.

Love the POFQ and the real NO comparison photos. neat!!

FUn epcot shots. Still have not done the Land....June. HONEST!

I also love living with the land. My son and I have done the behind the seeds tour three times (no kidding!) and we loved it every time. My favorite time was the last time - we were the only two on the tour and the guide let us do lots of neat stuff that is normally "against the rules". Its a great tour and cheap too! Ask for a AAA discount and its even more affordable.

I was beginning to wonder where you were! I thought you might have taken off to Hawaii to see those Golden Eagles vs the Wolfpack! Woo hoo!! :cool1: It wasn't pretty but it was a win! SMTTT Glad you are back on track and posting again!

I just finished with day 2 and I will be catching up on the rest soon! You guys look like you had such an awesome day 2 at MK! It makes me super excited for our trip in a week! I can't wait to see the castle :goodvibes

Thanks! Keith loves goofing off with the kids. Those poor, poor kids....:rotfl: He was down to the final portion of the Words with Friends game. The group was doing some championship or something. He "came around" after the game ended! Poor Madison just couldn't jump high enough, but she sure tried!!

I have finally made my way back over....I am loving these days off this week. I JUST took a shower at 11 am having spent the morning Dising while relaxing in my new Tink sleep shirt, drinking coffee out of my mickey mug.

Yesterday I did the same thing! It appears I am on track for today too! When I go back to work it will be a hard transition from being lazy!!

So funny how much you love TRex and want to eat in the ice cave. just SEEING the meteor shower pics and that red room makes me anxious. I think the food was good there but eating in that ice cave with the noise and the red lights just did me in the one time we ate there, and in a very bad way.

I think people either really like those type of restaurants or can do without them! I understand how the noise and lights could get to you though! It surprises me that this is the one place Keith loves coming to!

so sorry your DHS evening ended on a less than stellar note. Rides like Star Tours make me very ill too so I can relate to Keith.

I should have known better since Soarin' made him sick almost the whole day last year. I now have in my notes: NO MOTION RIDES FOR KEITH. So hopefully I will not make this mistake again!! Thankfully all worked out good in the end!

AK day...

I for one can totally understand leaving Keith to come when he was ready. I have learned from experience that dragging my DH to be somewhere he didn't want to be means ruining the experience for everyone. Nuff said.

This was another great lesson I learned! Letting him come in his own time made the day much better for everyone!!

Madison makes a great Alice. I LOVE the rabbit hole picture!

Thank you!!! :goodvibes

OMG ROFLMAO that Madison got so scared of the spiders! your poor mom! too funny though! have you been sticking little plastic spiders all over now?

This has been the biggest joke in our house!! My mom made a sign for her band trip warning people to not sit close in ITTBAB! :lmao: Madison did not appreciate it....really she thinks it is funny. She loves making fun at herself so that is good!!

How funny that those two guys were so scared on dinsaur! it was a fun ride, and I think Katie may have been scared....but she was seven!

They made that ride so fun! I really wish I could have videoed them! It was too funny!!

This is good to know! I am sure we will be back at some point so I will make note of this! That was the most fun we had on the whole trip! The OOP was little much but the memories more than paid for it. I will probably not do Tier 1 again though just because of the cost and have had a front row seeat!

Love the POFQ and the real NO comparison photos. neat!!

Thanks! That was a fun post to write and do!

FUn epcot shots. Still have not done the Land....June. HONEST!

LWTL is interesting so hopefully you can fit it in! I keep seeing people with upcoming trips and I get jealous knowing I am unsure when I will be back. Uhm....I believe I go in March! :rolleyes1 But since it is chaperoning the band and I am not planning it feels like I really am not going at all!! :rotfl:

I have heard such good things about Behind the Seeds that I really think it will be on my list for the next trip! I will have to remember the AAA discount!

You caught me! :) I wish I could have gone to Hawaii! I was planning on New Years Eve where ever they were and Hawaii threw a wrench in those plans! But I was very happy with the win!! :yay: It was not pretty at all but I will take the win!! SMTTT!!

Hopefully I will be able to keep up better now that all of our festivities are dying down!! Oh and also: What did you think of Drew Brees the other night!? :yay:

Welcome! Day 2 at MK was awesome! We zipped through MK on those two days! How exciting you get to be back very soon!! :yay: And I see you are staying at Port Orleans...I love that resort!! :goodvibes

Edit for comment: I just looked at your PTR link and noticed you are an anthropology major! Our oldest son is 22 and majoring in anthropology as well! He isn't in our TR since he doesn't go with us to Disney though. I found that cool since we do not run into many anthropolgoy majors around here!!

We had family in from out of town Christmas so I did not get to go to the Atlanta game on Monday night and see Drew Brees break the single season passing record. :sad1: Nevertheless, it was an awesome sight to behold even on TV. I've been told the noise rivaled the 2010 NFC championship game vs MN and that spiked to 150 decibels (a jet engine is 140!). No one can understand the atmosphere in the Superdome unless you've been there. 75,000 diehard season ticket holders in a closed stadium with adult beverages flowing freely. It requires ear protection at times and that is no joke! You can actually feel the steel and concrete stadium move when they play "Crunked" and everyone is up dancing. It is an experience one cannot adequately describe. I will definately be there this weekend to see the final game of the season and also for the playoffs. Between the Saints and Southern Miss, I bleed Black & Gold!! WHO DAT - SMTTT

I would have told my family "Sorry but I have a record to see broken against the Dirty Birds!!"....okay, maybe not!!! :rotfl: But at least it was on tv! The announcers just gave up talking over the noise level! It was awesome! I love the atmosphere in that place when it rocks!!! Yell hard and loud at these upcoming games!! :thumbsup2 Oh, yes this house bleeds Black & Gold for those Saints and Golden Eagles too!!! :yay:

A quick little update while I finish my lunch!! And I hope everyone has had a Happy New Year so far! 2012 is looking pretty good so far! 4 days in and no complaints thus far!!

So I left off with us leaving the Imagination Pavilion and doing some playful interaction with fountains!

Next up? Club Cool and our attempt to get my mom with the Beverly.

IMG_3082.jpg

IMG_3070.jpg

This is her photo just as she took a sip:

IMG_3071.jpg

I cannot post the picture of her face after the taste registered due to the fact that she brought me into this world and she can take me out! I would take out anyone that posted a picture of me with that face! It was bad and I am lucky Madison was the one that handed the cup to her. She will do anything for that child!!

A little bit of looking around the shopping area:

We LOVE Coke!!!

IMG_3074.jpg

No imitations here!!

IMG_3075.jpg

IMG_3076.jpg

This was one popular hat! I have seen it in several TRs!

IMG_3077.jpg

Cool decor!

IMG_3078.jpg

Keith has left the building again!

IMG_3079.jpg

A few more fountain pics!

IMG_3080.jpg

IMG_3081.jpg

I am in denial...not on my last day!!! Clouds???

IMG_3083.jpg

I always love these canopies---or whatever they are!

IMG_3084.jpg

We leave Club Cool and decide to wander into Inventions.

IMG_3085.jpg

I am not too enthralled by this. I was actually extremely bored! Some of us sit, some wander, mom and Madison find a question game to play.

A few shots inside:

IMG_3087.jpg

I wanted to do this but the line was too long:

IMG_3090.jpg

IMG_3089.jpg

The game my mom and Madison enjoyed. This actually was fun and I joined in but 30 minutes was long enough.

IMG_3093.jpg

30 minutes?? Yes because.....We get ready to leave and………….it is raining! (So I am bored and now stuck here!) What?!?!? Rain on our last day!? But nothing is supposed to rain on our final day and the day at Epcot at that! So we remain inside and begin to get very bored.

Finally the rain slacks off and we head back to The Land!!

It is time to use those Soarin’ FPs!!!!

IMG_3098.jpg

IMG_3094.jpg

Keith sits Soarin out (he got motion sick last year and I will not allow him to attempt it after the Star Tours disaster!). My mom loved this ride. We all love it but my mom still talks about this one! Next trip I will be sure she gets more than one go at it!

Now we are hungry! It is lunchtime! The plan is to go to Sunshine Seasons. We had breakfast here last year and it was good. Everyone raves about the food and I wanted a strawberry shortcake. We look over the menu and no one can really find something appealing (and we aren’t hard to please people!). Nothing really struck our fancy!

Keith wants to go to a country to eat and we agree this is a great idea. So we head in the direction of World Showcase.

IMG_3099.jpg

Along the way sprinkles begin to fall. Keith sees a Friendship boat heading to the dock and suggests this mode of transportation…great idea!! We load up and head out….

IMG_3100.jpg

Pictures along the way:

IMG_3101.jpg

IMG_3102.jpg

IMG_3103.jpg

Now on the ride we discuss where we want to eat and everyone has a different ethnic preference. Well I take that back …the adults have one and the children have another! We contemplate: Mexico (requiring a walk back), China, Germany or America or Morocco or England. The kids want Mexico. We adults had that the other day and want something different. So what did we choose? Well we did what any parent would do that is training their children to not be selfish and try new things….we chose what the adults wanted! And we wanted: Tune in to find out!!!

I thought Innoventions was pretty boring too. We waited in the long line to do the piggy bank adventure and it was such a waste of time. There is a long line b/c you have to wait until there is an attendant to guide you through it, like you can't follow the directions on your own. There were empty stations not being used but they didn't have them open:confused3

I can't wait to see what the adults picked. Anything sounds better than the hot dog Caitlin managed to find in World Showcase.

I get antsy if we spend too much time in Innoventions. I keep thinking that there is so much more out in the park that I want to see and do. It also doesn't help that I am so not a "gamer" and lose every time I try to play something.
