We're Changing The Plan Again?? You mean there's a Plan? New TR Posted/Link Posted

Just popping in to confess to lurking on your Trip Report. Have to say I've really enjoyed reading about your family's great trip! I'm another BIG fan of the Tusker House breakfast buffet. Can't think of one thing I don't like about it! :goodvibes Too bad Keith missed out on the awesome food but as anyone who's been married more than 5 minutes knows, it's better to not insist they go when they'd rather stay. :rolleyes1

Can't wait to hear about the rest of your day at Animal Kingdom and whatever the evening plans are..........popcorn::

I know what you mean about trying to make everyone happy. We usually have 3 generations going and that means 4-5 adults who don't all like the same things and boys age 2 and 10 and 11 so they like different rides, parks, food etc. My job is to plan and execuate the plan that will please everyone! This year just my daughter, me and 2 boys are going. We are doing QSDP so no ADRs which is a big change. We plan to just go with the flow and let the kids dictate what we do. I am happy just to be at Disney!

I really need to give the Tusker House breakfast a 2nd chance - this time with an 8 AM ADR. It looks so good on everyone else's TR.

I love seeing your kids have fun with the characters!

If we are guessing what you do next, my guess is straight to EE!

Before I respond to some posts...I am still alive. Homecoming is this week and between that and work Dissing has taken a back seat. I hope to get an update going real soon though!! :)

So happy you came out of lurkdom!! :goodvibes And that you are enjoying the report! Tusker House really ahs become one of our favorites! It is very yummy!!

I agree on letting some things go. I have learned when to press and when not too...well, most of the time! Hopefully I can get an update very soon!

I think I would really like a go-with-the-flow trip for a change! Even the CS places are pretty good and can be just as relaxing as an TS meal! Trying to please so many interest can get difficult! What a challenge when you have children with such different ages! Wow!

I think you should give it another shot! I love going with the 8am ADR....it is such a peaceful walk through before the crowds descend!

I am glad they don't think it is totally uncool to have pictures taken still. I am sure that will end one day, though so I soak it up now while I can!

EE...my 2nd favorite ride in WDW!!! :woohoo:

When I last left off a very long time ago we were finishing up with breakfast and about to head for our first adventure! Where should we go?

Well considering where we are located it makes sense to head off to Kilimanjaro Safari plus over previous trips I have learned to see the animals good during hot months you must go early! So off we go! It is around 9:15am so the park has been open for about 15 minutes. The line to KS looks very, very long. We queue up and seem to move relatively quickly. With the wait and ride time it was only about 45 minutes total.

Let me stop here and state that I really do not have a “plan” for this day. We know what we like to do here and we know the order in which we want to do it. Basically we are wanting to ride Kilimanjaro Safari, Expedition Everest, see It’s Tough To Be a Bug!, and try to ride Dinosaur and Kali River. I also hope to include Festival of the Lion King and Flights of Wonder (we have never seen this one).

Kilimanjaro Safari is a lot of fun for me since there were so many animals! I really want to try the Wild Africa Trek one day for a close up view!

First we have to load up in our safari jeep!

We finally find Madison's favorite animal in all of animal kingdomville!!

Seriously...how many pictures can one person take of an elephant? Evidentally A LOT!!!! I shall not bore you with the 10 I took and are now in Photobucket! The sad thing is I did not upload every single picture taken...so there may be many more hiding within the depths of my camera!! But here are a couple more...

Then we got to the flamingos. They need a bigger shrimp diet I guess to get pinker!! But I still love watching the flamingos!!

IMG_2658.jpg

I always like seeing the safari jeeps coming around the bend!

IMG_2661.jpg

These guys look so HOT!!

IMG_2663.jpg

We have been fortunate in the past to see the lions but not so lucky this time around!

AK1.jpg

The geyser area is always a little precarious!!

IMG_2668.jpg

And then the trip was over. We were supposed to be gone for 2 weeks but you see we had to leave the reserve to catch some nasty ol' poachers and it cut our trip short. Oh, you know that story?! Sorry!!

The trip was the same as usual...lots of bumps and lots of animals. Some were ellusive and some were sociable. I was glad the bridge nearly fell...it just adds something to the trip and this is especially true when you have a newby along! Over all it was a fun little ride through the savannah!

Continued in the next post............

While we are on the ride Keith had texted me that he is on his way to the park. We disembark and head off to the Pangani Trail to wait for his arrival.

The fog was in full force this morning!

IMG_2669.jpg

IMG_2670.jpg

He was really closer to entering the park than actually "on his way" so in otherwords "on my way" meant "I am at the park entrance".... Since we are on the path he finds something to eat and waits for us while we do a quick walk-through.

These are my pictures of the gorillas...they were not my friends this morning!! I never could get a good view!

As we wait for Keith to finish eating some really good fresh pineapple Chris runs over to Expedition Everest to claim some Fast Passes!

Then it is off to our next adventure! We are all together again and happy!! :yay:

I love seeing the animals on the safari! You're right, earlier in the day does tend to help. You're fortunate that you've been able to see the lions on a regular basis. I haven't been so lucky myself. Another good time to go on the safari is when it's raining. The elephants are out the most during that time and they play around in the water.

I am a sucker for anything that has animals. Keith gets bored at zoos so the safari adds a little something extra for him and I get the animals! I bet it is fun watching the elephants in the water! Madison would love that! The best lion spotting was late one afternoon in March. It was cooling off and he got up for a stretch. I was super excited!

I knew the safari would be where you headed next! I love love love the safari and would ride it over and over again if my family would agree. Too bad the gorillas weren't coming out for you guys to see. The last couple of times we have gone, they have been out and about and I was able to take some great pictures of them.

I love :lovestruc the safari too and each trip can be different since the animals are always moving around or being lazy!! I was disappointed not getting to see the gorillas. I had only been on the trail one other time and we did get to see them good that day. Every other time we have not made it to Pangani and I am not sure exactly why. Hopefully I will have better luck next time!!

You and Madison sound like our DD. If there is an animal involved, she loves it! Most of our trip next May will be centered around swimming with the dolphins, a horseback ride & Seaworld just for her.

(How about that homecoming game vs SMU? Woohoo!! :cool1:)

Your trip sounds heavenly to me! We went to Seaworld in San Antonio and loved it! I have been tempted to try the one in Orlando!

That game was awesome!!! :woohoo: We got there at lunch and had to park further away than I have ever parked for a game! There were so many people there! I am finally getting my voice back! I love that the Nasty Bunch is back!!! :cheer2:

Yum, Tuskerhouse. I love the juice and the food is the best breakfast buffet. I have heard the lunch is pretty good but I am not brave enough to try it with DH and DD.

I love you pictures of the trails. The upside down bird is so cute.

I love the breakfast there. I think we have discussed our common like for TH on your TR! :goodvibes I think I would like to try it for lunch. I know your DH and DD are so picky sometimes that you may have a hard tiome pleasing them though. :sad2:

I just thought that little fellow was so cute! I really like both trails. I would liek to go at a cooler time than summer and really spend some time hanging out on each one!

My DD and I have really enjoyed these last posts of yours -- she is laughing now because I warned her I would tell you that she thinks your son is cute! :lmao:

Anyway, can't wait to hear what is next -- my DH would NEVER miss out on a character breakfast -- due to the breakfast part!! :rotfl:

It looks like you had a pretty good safari. The giraffes are my favorite too.

Too bad about the gorillas playing hide and seek, but I love the upside down bird.

Glad you guys have been enjoying it! :woohoo: I will be sure to share that with Chris! He is pretty shy for the most part so that will be fun!!

I would think the same thing about Keith not missing the food but I guess he had just had it with characters at this point!

The safari was good and our guide on this trip was interactive too....forgot to mention that. She through in little tid bits here and there which was great!

Isn't that little bird cute?!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!!!!

I cannot believe that tomorrow is November and after tonight we will be bombarded with Christmas commercials, Christmas movies and on and on! This year has flown!! I really hope (depending on how my day at work goes) to get an update today or tomorrow but yesterday we had Fall Fest at church I just had to share!! (Please bare with me! :goodvibes)

For those that are reading with little girls and you wonder what the future may hold regarding Disney...I hope Madison can give you a little hope! I think she has been every Princess that existed in her childhood except Jasmine! We have moved past the princess stage for costumes but she has stuck with Disney related themes! This year she was Alice in Wonderland.

Before we headed to the Fall Fest she wanted a "photo session" and since she is an almost 16 year old girl....I happily jump on every chance to share in these moments! Time just goes way too fast! Here a few of the fun pictures we did!

Madison looks absolutely adorable in her Alice in Wonderland costume! My favorite is the one looking for the rabbit hole.

I told John yesterday that this year has gone by so very fast. I can't believe it will be November tomorrow!

I love the Alice costume! She looks very mature but still very sweet and pretty. Great choice!
