We're Celebrating our Marriage with a trip to Disney World! Itinerary final touches

Hi Andrea!

I love the pics of Seth! He has gotten so big! I can't believe it!

I can't remember what they called the butterfly place a couple of years ago but I know we visited it... It's pretty easy to stay away from though as well..

Make sure you check out the concerts that they have during the festival... we didn't go to any but I hear they are pretty good! Hoping to check some of them out during the F&W festival during the fall.

I saw that the Guess Who was playing one weekend, but unfortunately not the weekend we will be there. I really like them, so it would have been cool to see them there. I believe they are a Canadian band.

I can't recall if there was anyone else playing when we're there, but I did have a look at some of the info last night.

Andrea, First of all, beautiful wedding pictures and your little boy is darling. It looks like you are going during the Epcot Flower and Garden festival - you will love it. So pretty there this time of year.

Thank you! I am so excited to be going during that time. I can't wait to see all the character topiaries.

If you like plants be sure to check out the Living with the Land attraction too. Disney grows a lot of the plants they use in their restaurants in that exhibit and some really innovative ways to grow plants without a whole lot of space.

I love plants, so I will definitely try to check that out. I am worried that we won't have enough time! Haha. I will definitely be skipping Bambi's butterfly room though, so that is one thing I don't have to worry about taking time.

Ok, so now that I have all our table service meals for the week picked out, I should probably get an idea of where we want to get our quick service meals and snacks.

What are some things that we just HAVE to have? Disneyland has their churros, tigger tails, etc. What is a must have in WDW, and where to get them?

Under 50 days now!!! :dance3:

Our Mickey mail should be coming any day now. I can't wait!!! Starting to get real excited now.

One thing I am getting really excited for is the Flower and Garden Festival. My Grandpa used to be a huge gardener, even winning prizes and things like that for his gardening, so it's always been kind of a big thing in our family. Going to have to try and take lots of photos! I kind of wish our trip was a little longer so I could spend a few days just taking photos of everything.

You will love the F&G festival. Everything is just so lovely and pretty and colorful. Make sure to "plan time" into your schedule to just wander around Epcot gardens. Disney adds special areas to epcot just for the flowers and displays. I'm not sure how many days you plan to do Epcot but with the F&G displays, shows, merchandise, etc, I always plan an extra day just for that (or just skip the regular rides/shows).

So, we haven't received our photos from the wedding yet, but our photographer has posted some on FB so far, as a few of you have seen. I've decided to post a couple of my faves on here of the ones we've seen so far.

Awesome pictures! Very unique one with the ring box. You guys are so lovely!

Love the pic of your little boy conked out on the exersaucer!

Just saw that during the Flower and Garden Festival that they have Bambi's Butterfly House. :scared1: I am staying far, far away from there!

I assume you have a fear of butterflies? Well, if you do decide to just look inside really quick, you won't find them "all over". When we went into it in May 2011, we had to really search out for the butterflies. They have beautiful tropical plants inside, the topiary of Bambi and a small water pond.

It sounds like you've done a lot of your homework already. The only "planning" I would do for the rides is to know which rides you want to get a FP for. And now that Disney is enforcing the FP return time, you have to pay attention to the actual start and end time.

So if you know what the more popular rides are, whether you want to ride them or not and where they are located, then that's the high-level planning you should do.

For a relaxing time, you don't want to be criss-crossing all over the parks but you have to balance that with not missing out on a FP you really want and waiting in a long line.

For us, we pick 4-5 rides we really want to do in a day and plan those either via FP or getting to park at rope drop ... then we basically just go around in a circle and see shows, have a snack, go on rides, etc.

As for snacks -- Magic Kingdom is famous for it's Dole Whip which can be bought in Adventureland at MK. There are 2 locations (one does orange and the other does pineapple). A Dole Whip is like a soft-serve ice cream cone and it can be 1/2 & 1/2 with vanilla and pineapple or served as a smoothie, etc.

We also really like the strawberry short cake from Mrs. Potts in Fantasyland and of course anything from the confectionery shop on Main Street.

At Epcot, go to Ice Station Cool for free sips of soda from around the world -- don't forget to try the Beverly!!:scared1::rotfl2: I love the fruit ones.

At Germany, there is a new caramel kitchen shop with great chocolates. At France you can't skip the bakery (last time we bought 4-5 different things to enjoy since we couldn't decide). Also, France has a wonderful frozen alcoholic beverage kiosk -- Grand Marnier or Lemondade Grey Goose Slushies.

At Hollywood Studios, everyone on the DIS raves about the cupcakes at Starring Rolls. I haven't had one yet but they look ravenous!

At Animal Kingdom, for some reason we just always get a Mickey Ice Cream bar there.

At DTD, I like going to Goofy's Candy Company and choosing the 3 toppings for the "make your own Caramel Apple". Incredible! Also, you have to stop by Ghiradelli's, at least for the free candy sample, if not for ice cream!

I can't wait to see what other people like for snacks at each park.

Wow, thank you for all the amazing info and compliments! :goodvibes

I have heard about the Dole Whips, as Disneyland has them too, but not in the orange flavour. Might have to be on the look out for those!

We will do our best we can with FP's but we are bad for making it back during the return time, so we will have to work on that if Disney is enforcing that now.

I love caramel, so the caramel kitchen seems like a really great place for me to check out.

Mickey bar is a definite as well. We will see if we are brave enough to try the beverly, haha. :scared1:

For Magic Kingdom, it shouldn't be too hard to plan rides, as the layout is kind of similar to Disneyland, but every other park is starting completely brand new, so I will have to study the maps online a bit to plan the days out.

Thanks so much! :)

Marsha gave you a lot of great things to try

I have to second the Grey goose slushie in France in Epcot

I love their pretzels too. :goodvibes

$10!! :scared1: That's ok. I am hoping to have enough money saved where we can do that sort of thing every once in a while. It's our honeymoon, I want to be able to have a drink or two! :)

My only complaint with this was it was like $10 for a cup and there wasn't THAT much in it. But you know, it's Disney prices!;)

Same here, but so good

Definitely splurge some since your honeymoon :lovestruc

Questions about checking in.

If the room is already paid for, do you need a credit card to check in? And if you do, how much needs to be on it? Both DH and I have low limits (purposely) and also would like it if we won't need to have funds held up in the hotel room if possible. We will have to get a pre-paid card if we need to have lots of money sitting on one.

I told them when booking I did not want my credit card on file for room charging and they put it anyway.

So when I got to the front desk, I told them to take my card off file as I would not be charging anything. They said fine

So, no, you do not need a credit card to check in. You just need your ID. That is all :goodvibes

What if it was my Dad's card that booked the trip? Will they just use his card? And will they want his I.D? The rest of the booking is under my name, but the payment was made with his card.

We got Mickey Mail today!!! The package wasn't as exciting as I thought, but it still made the trip that much more real.

All we got were neon yellow luggage tags, and an ME booklet....not sure if we even have to have any of it with us, since we aren't using the tags. :confused3 Do we need the booklet thingy?

Nope, they will not need your dad's CC. They are only going ask you for your ID since your name on package. Then they probably say do you want to keep the card you booked with on file for charging privileges. Just say no and they should remove it off. No need for the card :goodvibes

YAY!!!

If you are using magical express, then yes you need the booklet thing. That has your tickets to get on the bus.

Why are you not using the yellow tags? Can you not do that because you are not coming from the USA? Just curious :goodvibes
