We're Celebrating our Marriage with a trip to Disney World! Itinerary final touches

Holy Smokes!!! :scared1: I'm looking at the house pics & thinking its nice.....but it's definitely not 2 million dollars nice!!!!!! Why is property so high down there......that's crazy!!!! My dad had a $500,000 house that was way nicer & fancier than that place & had a large piece of property, beautiful yard & landscaped backyard with creek & such. If that place is 2 million, my dad's place would have been a 10-15 million home down there!!!

I have no idea why it's so expensive. I think the location has a lot to do with it. It's about a 5 minute drive to the Beverly Hills area. The house was nice, but I agree, it wasn't THAT nice. And yeah I bet your Dad's home would have been way more if it was in that area too. It was a pretty nice area. Easy to get to the beaches and Hollywood, but about an hour drive from Disneyland.

That close to Beverly Hills would explain the price hike......but really, all the properties down there are overpriced. We figured to get a place to rent down there equivalent to what we were renting at that time would have run us about $2400 to get into a place like we're in now......would be probably closer to $2800-3000. I can use that kind of money for other things.....like food, utilities, etc....... :rotfl:

Haha, exactly. I understand that prices are high probably partly because of the desire to live there, but it just seems unfair! Maybe San Diego and that area might be a little cheaper?

No.....sorry not what we saw. The cheaper (but still more than what we're paying here) were in the desert area to the west (a good hours plus drive to Anaheim & over a pass). Not sure I wanted to live in desert like conditions!

We looked at Sacramento which is Northern Cali & we might have been able to afford that....but it was still $500 more for rent & the Bay area is just as bad as down south (just ask Michele).

Now, go to Arizona & you can get a pretty nice place with a pool for affordable prices. We tried to get Mike a job in the Phoenix area.....but it didn't pan out. Now that he has manager experience....if we ever decide to try for a transfer again....he'd have better luck. We like where we're at for the kids and the owner of the house is talking about maybe (a HUGE maybe) carrying a contract so we can buy the house. More about that when I get a real feel if this could happen. There's no way we could get a loan.......so we'll have to wait & see.

Arizona might be a possibility for us. Not sure how serious Dillon is about the whole thing though. Maybe one day soon!

Wow, I hope the landlord is able to work that out with you! That would be so nice to be able to own. We are in the same boat with a down payment. It's just so hard to save and come up with that kind of money. We'd love to be able to own.

According to my ticker we only have 10 days left to go!!!!

The Disney site still says 11 though, so maybe I should go by that.

Either way, I get to do online check-in tomorrow! I wasn't originally going to do it, but I see that my one request is noted on my information, so I am hoping it will be granted. We will be arriving late at night, and if I wait until then to check in, I have a feeling it will be harder to get my wish of a king sized bed. This request wouldn't be so important if the other beds were queen sized, but doubles are just a little too squishy. I want to be close to my husband on our honeymoon, but that's a little too tight for sleeping for me. And who wants to sleep in separate beds on their honeymoon? :confused3

Starting Monday I am going to do a daily run-through of our itinerary for the week to make sure we have everything down that we want to do, etc. :woohoo:

I have to admit the double beds thing is the reason I paid for a KING bed at a moderate in '09 and again for October. Hubby and I can just barely fit in a queen. A Double would just not work for us!

I will keep my fingers crossed that you get honeymoon pixiedust and get the King!!

Well I did pay the extra $100+ for a preferred room, but not sure that is to be sure we get a king bed or a pick a certain building?

What resort are you at? I forget..sorry,.

Preferred is normally so you are closer to bus stop and food court.:goodvibes

We are at Pop Century! :)

Just did online check-in!! :woohoo:

Stayed up past midnight just to do it. It's so much more official all of a sudden. I noticed that my request was in three twice, so hopefully they can make it happen! :cool1:

:scared1: I just realized I passed the 5000 post mark a few posts ago!!! Yay me!! Wow, I've really talked a lot in the last two years. But that's ok cause in that time I've met a lot of good people and made some really great friendships. :grouphug:
