WE'RE BACK! TR LINK! TThe Evil Spell Has Been Broken! A Special Mother/Daughter PTR

Aww! Looking at pictures from when my kids were younger always chokes me up, too! The kids look so pretty all dressed up to go see the Nutcracker! (And, Hope, I can’t get over Ms. Kya in those HEELS! ) That must have been a really fun day! That is wonderful that you have such a great homeschool group. I still haven’t met with the one in my area because everything they do is on the weekdays. I think I will have to propose something for a Saturday because I really want my kids to form the friendships like Savannah has been able to do. Poor little kids who had never been to a mall! I was basically living at the mall when I was a teen, too! Yes, the fountain is fascinating! It’s not just kids from the country who think so! I dread passing a fountain because my kids always want to stop for a few minutes and make wishes on the pennies they throw in! When they start asking me for nickles and dimes, I tell them it’s time to go! :lmao: Savannah’s pink hipster glasses are awesome! I hope she wears them to WDW! I’m so glad you saw Brave! I love that movie! Your Hot Chocolate Party looks really cool! You have inspired me to set up something similar for when my sisters come over for Christmas Eve! Well, good luck with the petsitting and I hope everything goes as planned with paying the trip off! Under 50 days!!! :yay:

Doing a hot chocolate party on Christmas Eve sounds great! It's really fun b/c my friend Trisha, who does this every year, has all kinds of toppings/candy to add to it (AND alcohol for the adults!!!) plus just some candy/snacks, and it makes it really festive and fun to make your own! She makes the actual hot chocolate in the slow cooker, I think she uses chocolate chips, milk, cream, and sugar? It's fantastic! That would be really fun for your family!

Glad to hear that fountains are fascinating for all kids! :lmao:

Karen, I hope you don't mind, but I just HAD to share this with you....

This is Victoria, my niece Emily and I on Victoria's first trip to Disney in 2005. It's unbelievable how tiny she was!!!

:woohoo: 46 DAYS and PAID IN FULL!!! :woohoo:

Nothing like waiting until the last minute, right? ;) It's perfect timing, right before Christmas, and I'm feeling SO relieved to have it all paid for! The only thing we need money for now is Crystal Palace and souvenirs! Everything else is paid! WOOT!

HAPPY WINTER SOLSTICE to everyone, Rey & I went to the park/lake in our town this morning to watch the sunrise. We walked and I took some pictures. It was VERY cold, however, so we didn't make it long. It was so nice to get some quiet time alone together, I usually go for a walk on Solstice morning alone, but this was a nice change of pace to share it with him. Here's my solstice picture for the day:

I've got pies in the oven and I'm making soup for dinner, we'll eat by candlelight tonight. I love our Solstice traditions and it just extends the holiday cheer for us this time of year. I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas, I doubt I will be back to update until after the busy petsitting and holidays are over!

Hello! Hello! I trust everyone had a wonderful Christmas! We did! I'm still in the thralls of work, petsitting is really busy for me until the 3rd, so I just have to hold out until then to do anymore Disney planning!

It feels fantastic to have it all paid off, however! Savannah asked for my old camera for Christmas, so that's what she got! You would NEVER KNOW in these pictures, that she has a double ear infection, but we took her to the Dr. yesterday after a horrible migraine Christmas night to find out she did. She has chronic ear issues and this is one of the things that she worried most about flying, so hopefully the antibiotics and claritin will clear this up for good!

Here are a couple pics of her opening her camera. I'll spare you the 100s of other pics I took from Christmas.

40 DAYS TODAY!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks! We did have a nice Christmas! I was pretty overworked, I could have gone without that, but it was nice when I wasn't working! She had suggested getting my camera a few months ago, so I knew she would love it! :thumbsup2

I am glad you guys had a great Christmas!! Yay for paying off the trip...that is a really good feeling.:woohoo:

Yay for being paid in full and your trip coming up so soon!!!

How sweet that Savannah wanted your old camera! :goodvibes

I was a proud mama...and she's a pretty good photographer already, so I was already proud! It feels SO GOOD to have the trip paid, especially since money is tight after Christmas!

I am glad you guys had a great Christmas!! Yay for paying off the trip...that is a really good feeling.:woohoo:

Thanks! Yep, totally paid AND I have another surprise I'll be posting about that is paid for today. Now all I need is some cash for extras, our CP breakfast, and souvies! :thumbsup2

HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone!!!!

We had a FABULOUS New Years, we had friends over (and their kids) and it was just a lot of fun to hang out, take pictures of the kids playing around with the hats/glasses/balloons, and playing games. It also snowed that day, so you get a picture of my furry kids in the snow. Sapphire loves snow, she eats it compulsively. :p

I hope all of you had a wonderful beginning of the year, we did!

Soooo, we're just 33 days out! I cannot believe it!!!!!!! :goodvibes

Today was a pretty good day, in Disney planning! The Dessert Party, which I have been waiting to open up, opened for February finally! It was pretty touch and go for a while, many people thought they might be refurbing and cancelling it for FEB b/c it was so late to open! I actually saw it posted when I wasn't home that it had opened, so I called Dylan at home (my 18 year old) and walked him through booking!!!! WOOT! So, on Feb. 7th, we'll be going to the Tomorrowland Terrace Dessert Party!!!!!!!!

(image from Disney site...cannot wait to have my own photos!!!)

This is a SURPRISE for Savannah!!! She doesn't even know the dessert party exists, and she LOVES dessert, so I'm pretty excited to surprise her with this! I'm not sure when I will tell her, maybe the first day or something...she will want to know when we are seeing Wishes, so I'll want to tell her at some point. I'm pretty proud of myself, I'm bad at keeping secrets! :rotfl:

Congrats on booking the dessert party. I want to book the 8th for my DH's birthday! I have to save a little bit more money before I can book so hopefully it doesn't sell out by next week!

Happy New Year!!

Happy New Year!!

I'm sure it won't sell out before next week! I know there are still January dates open, so I think you are good. Most people just don't know it exists yet, but I bet in the next couple years it's going to get harder and harder to get reservations when more people find out about it. I'm super ex[cited about it, it's something special we have never done that I can do just with my girl. :lovestruc

When Rey & I were at MK in November, I had to leave when Wishes started b/c it's just something special I feel I share with Savannah and I couldn't watch it without her. :lovestruc I bet it will be really special for you and your dh too! I can't believe you are going just the night after me!!

ONE MONTH!!!! (says the ticker...it's 31 days today!)

Mickey Mail came yesterday and Savannah & I went on a search for just the right Tshirts. We found some, more to come on the tshirts in my next update!

My stupid printer ran out of ink (again!) so I'm waiting for more to arrive, but we have our shirts picked out and we're doing something a little different this time, so that should be interesting. More to come on that!

30 DAYS!!!

I thought I would type up some of our plans since we're at the 30 day mark! These are fairly loose plans because I really don't do commando/scheduled plans that well anymore at WDW...go figure! :lmao: (this is funny b/c I'm a pretty big planner, and usually like to stick to a schedule!)

Since we only have 3 park days and have to fit 4 parks into 3 days, we'll obviously have hoppers. I know where we are starting and a basic outline of what we'll do, but each day we'll be able to "wing it" a bit, depending on what Savannah & I get done and where we feel like going later in the day. Naturally I have to add photos to an update like this, so I pulled up some shots from previous trips!

Tuesday, February 5th-
This is our travel day. It's a pretty late day, I have a client that will be arriving home that day, so we'll have to petsit RIGHT before leaving to drive 2 hours to the airport! Our flight does not leave until 4:15pm and we arrive in Orlando around 7:30pm.

I'm guessing there will be endless "cheek-to-cheek" shots (as we call them!) on this trip, especially if we are sitting around in airports. When we drove to WDW in 2009 to meet the IL's, it took FOREVER and Savannah & I took quite a few shots when we were bored! ;)
WDW2009023c_zps531fee5d.jpg

Once we get to PoP, it will be fairly late (for me at least!) and the plan is to grab something to eat and just spend some time getting settled in.
Waiting to check in at PoP in 2008:
WDW2008070_zps96801272.jpg

We'll go to bed pretty early because we have an early date with Pooh and the gang in the morning!

Wednesday, February 6th-
Our first park day must ALWAYS be MK, Savannah says. :) We have an 8:10 ADR at Crystal Palace, it's become quite the tradition for us. After breakfast, it will be time for RD and we will head through the castle into Fantasyland! I'm unsure of what order we will do things, we have talked about doing PP and Pooh and then heading to Little Mermaid and THEN Dumbo. We normally do Dumbo first, but it's all different now with Fantasyland changing!
WDW2009339a-1_zpsd4acddc0.jpg

After this I'm not completely sure the plan. Savannah will most likely want to do the Speedway, she loves these cars, we have so many funny memories on them.
WDW2008327.jpg

I know we will want to head over to Big Thunder at some point to ride and maybe grab a FP, depends on the wait. I'm afraid we will end up crisscrossing a bit, I'm unsure how to avoid that without having a rigid plan, which I don't want. At some point we'll want to do Tomorrowland and then we are going to try and have lunch (CS) at BOG!!

This is where the day gets murky. Not sure what we will have done by this point. We can usually do a LOT these RD mornings. I think at some point we will head back to the resort for some pool time and then it becomes even more murky!

Savannah does not really like much about Epcot (GASP!) so I made sure to spend a ton of time with Rey while we were on our Anniversary trip...BUT, she LOVES Test Track. LOVES it. We're excited about the refurb and I was thinking we could head over there after our pool time and see if there were any FP's left for the day and grab one. We might even be willing to wait in the regular line this first time, it will depend on the waits. We could to Spaceship Earth and Nemo, which are both on her list, and grab dinner at Sunshine Seasons. I'm just unsure at this point, this evening will definitely be winging it! We could even head to DTD if we want, but we have that planned for our last evening as well b/c Savannah likes to spend her money at the END of the trip.

I'm guessing you can see why I didn't write these plans up earlier...they are pretty laid back and I'm unsure exactly how we'll end up doing it! I know we will be enjoying ourselves, that's for sure! :goodvibes

Maybe we'll finish the evening off with a ride on Malstrom! ;)
WDW20081153.jpg

(oh how funny! It's early in the morning when I'm typing this and I have the TV on in the background on PBS...and just as I was typing that, Rick Steves show came on talking about NORWAY!)
