Day 4
Another beautiful morning at the poly.
It was time to head over to our least favorite park DHS and experience the new Toy Story Mania. Why the least favorite? Well...a couple of things. I never enjoy just being in the park.Imho it really lacks the 'magical' feeling that I get when I am at MK and Epcot. In fact, it feels a lot like the real Hollywood...fake. The park also feels stuck in the '90s and reminds me of the dark days of the Eisner era for some reason.
Regardless of this, TSM is a great attraction. Incredible? No. Well conceived and executed? Absolutely. It is also a very attractive ride to look at. In sum, a nice addition to DHS that provides something fresh for the park.
After a stint at rockin rollercoaster, TOT, and the always wonderful Muppetvision 3D it was off to Epcot by way of the boat, Friendship.
It was here at the Electric Umbrella again that we discovered that secret that would save us from expensive counter service meals at WDW. The Kids meal! Why pay $7.19 for a double cheeseburger and some fries when you can pay $4.49 and get a single cheeseburger, essentially the same amount of fries, chocolate pudding, and a small drink? Anyway...this worked perfectly for us and we stuck with this idea for the rest of our counter service meals.
Back to the resort to rest up for the night.
Except, I couldn't rest. Not with the MK in eyesight!! The wife decides to stay at the poly and I head to MK for a photo excursion. By the time I make it up main street I am about to die of a heat stroke and head back to the room. No matter, still got some decent pics.
Back to Epcot and dinner at Mexico! San Angel Inn? Heck no! Why pay outrageous prices when you can get essentially the same food for a lot less at the Cantina? On the subject of food.....I had made reservations for all of our meals. We used ONE of them. I always have the best of intentions when it comes to eating table service at WDW and then have a hard time paying high prices for mediocre food (though we usually wind up doing it anyway

. Anyway, we spent the rest of the night in the WS.
Do me a favor. Next time you are at Epcot, catch a few rides in Future World and then spend the rest of the day in the World Showcase. There are so many hidden surprises and nice people to meet from their respective countries that you'll be glad you did.
We finish the night with the always spectacular Illuminations. While I had been upset the globe would be in refurb while we were there, the modified show was wonderful. I really really enjoyed seeing different touches added to the show to make up for the globe being gone. Sorry no pics. Camera died.
I'll charge the battery and continue tomorrow...
