We're back from surprising our kids– a grateful family -with pics and video.

I can't believe it's getting so close. I don't know how parents who decide a year in advance to surprise their kids can pull off. At 5:30 tonight I said to DH "just think, next week at this time, we'll be seeing the biggest smiles on our boys' faces." Even DH smiled at that one.

 :woohoo: :yay: :dance3: :cheer2:

I'd be going out of my mind with excitement right now if I where you!!

I am going crazy. It's all the last minute stuff that I have to do and can only do once the boys are asleep or out of the house. DH is going to take them a few places over the weekend so I can get some of the things done.

6 more days!!!! Hard to believe. Getting down to the last minute details now.

Here's our itinerary for next week!

Wednesday 10/15 - we just got a call from the middle school to schedule DS13's annual meeting so we scheduled it for 11:30 AM. This will explain to DS why we're at school. Then, go pick up DS8 at his school. His teacher has told me she will make sure she bites her tongue and not say "have a good trip." Drive to BWI - about 35-40 min depending on traffic and find the long term parking. Surprise #1 - we're at the airport! Get to our gate for surprise #2 - we're flying to Orlando. Fly to MCO - 2 hr 10 min. Arrive at MCO. Get to ME counter and BIG SURPRISE! We're going to have both cameras out so we don't miss anything. Check into CSR - dinner, swim, unpack. Bedtime!

Thursday 10/16 - Epcot - Future World. Lunch at Le Cellier at 11:45 AM. Break. Go back to Epcot for dinner at Biergarten and Illuminations

Friday 10/17 - DHS - major things on our agenda will be things we didn't do our last trip - Indy, Jedi Training (I know they'll love that), Backlot Tour, BaTB (I gotta do something girly). Dinner at 50s Prime Time and Fantasmic at 9 PM.

Saturday 10/18 - Planning on sleeping in some and then going to AK. The boys have always wanted to see the parade because our last trip we had to leave early. Back to CSR for CS meal at Pepper Market - my aunt, uncle and cousins are coming to meet us for dinner. Looking forward to seeing them

Sunday, 10/19 - our first MK day and staying through Dreams Parade which is another thing the boys wanted to see last time but couldn't fit it in. Then to AKL to look around, eat dinner at BOMA. Then, we need to go to POLY for DS8 for his haunted pirate cruise. Me, DH, and DS13 will watch the electric water parade and Hallowishes from the beach. What was going to be a calm afternoon/evening is now going to be busy!

Monday, 10/20 - sleep in. Epcot World Showcase. Dinner at Clam Bake. I think DH and boys might go to DTD after dinner and I'll head back to CSR to pack.

Tuesday, 10/21 - early check out and breakfast at CP at MK at 8:05. MK through lunch time and back to CSR to get ME.

whew! I'm exhausted just thinking about it.

I just read your PTR and loved reading it.
We have alot in common I too just turned 50.
Loved your family photo with Mickey and your grandbaby is so cute.
I hope your son gets to enjoy or at least get to nibble on a turkey leg.
I loved the "PRICELESS" shirt designs.
All I can say is it would be so hard for me to keep the secret but I know it will also be a priceless moment. Can't wait to see the pictures when you tell them.
I will be waiting to read your TR when you get back.

Thanks for stopping by. I don't know how we've managed to keep the secret as well as everyone in our family. The only one who didn't know is my father. He's 90 yrs old and has a lot of trouble hearing so it isn't something I can speak quietly about. I told his "lady friend" tonight when we were all together for dinner. She'll tell him later.

I look forward to posting their pics here as well.

Sounds like you have a great plan Sherri!

Thanks. I'm glad I have it all down now. Tonight, I'm ironing t-shirt transfers on. Tomorrow, DH will do laundry. Sunday morning, I pack and then sit back and try not to jump out of my skin while waiting till Wednesday.

I would be completely jumping out of skin!

Thanks for visiting. I can't believe it's getting so close.

Today, we got the paperwork for DS13's annual meeting at school (he has ADHD) to meet with his teachers and they set it for 11:30 Wednesday morning. We were planning on picking him up at noon. When I signed the paper for him to take back to school, he asked if he needed to be at the meeting, so I told him they might want to call him in at the end. This way we'll get him out of class easier and just say "hey, we're going to take you of school for the day now." :lmao:

Tonight, DH and I went out for a few errands - we love having DS13 staying home with his brother now. On the way home we stopped at the local coffee shop and sat down and made our final lists of things to do.

Hi Sherri :wave2:

I just finished reading your PTR and I have to say I don't know how you are keeping the secret. I'll be arriving at CSR on 10/15 too, maybe I'll see you and your family, I'm guessing the smiling boys will make you easy to spot. I hope you have a great trip, with all that you have been thru you deserve it!

Thanks Dee. I told DH earlier that I just want to burst. It's hard to share so much of the excitement with DH because he doesn't get it when it comes to planning Disney, but, he is excited about the surprise and he is very much looking forward to our vacation after the year he's had. I went to a DisMeet today and it was great meeting DisBoard people and sharing our Disney excitement. Tomorrow morning, I'll pack and then need to keep quiet for a few days but work will keep me very busy on Monday and Tuesday if I can focus at all :rotfl:

Our plane lands around 5:10 if it's on time, so we'll be checking in after 6:30 I guess and then eating dinner at PM, hopefully go to the Dig Site for a little bit after that so the boys can exhaust themselves after the big surprise.

Hey Sherri, this is Pete from the MD meet. It was really nice meeting you - have fun on your trip! :)

Thanks Pete. It was great meeting you and everyone else as well and hope that I can join again in the future. I had a lot of fun. BTW, love your pic of the bacon and eggs. I showed it to DH last night and even he chuckled.

:cool1: I can't sit still and I can't focus. Gee- that's DS13's problem and he takes medicine for that....

I don't know how I'm going to make it through my day at work. I just want to play and finish up. Oh well - I will do my best. I have a meeting at 2 PM, and the VP of the company wants to meet with me today as well :scared1: I will give report to the person who's covering for me around 3:30 and I hope to be finishing up at 4:30 as I started a little early this morning - the benefits of working from home. I have it on my outlook calendar for 3:00 PM to log on to Air Tran and print out our boarding passes. :cool1:

Side note- DS8 hurt his thumb last night. The dog (remember that cute white fluffy thing posted in the beginning of the thread) stepped on DS8's hand and pushed his thumb back. I put ice on it last night but this morning it is blue and swollen and DS8 can't bend his thumb. :scared1: DH took him to the urgent care center this morning just to make sure everything is OK. DS8 is worried how he is going to write in school the next few days. If he only knew he didn't have to worry about it after noon tomorrow. :lmao:

Packing - mostly packed. :cool1: I'm never packed this early - I'm usually one of those wait to the last minute people. Tomorrow morning, just need to throw in the toiletries and shoes and then pack up the boys' carry-ons.

Thanks Katie. I am so excited.

Thumb upate -- DS8 has a broken thumb and it is splinted and taped. DH bought an extra splint so we'll have it. I'll put him in the extra one for swimming if we need to. The staff at urgent care said he could swim without it and wouldn't want the splint to rust. I don't think it'll rust for being exposed to water for short durations and allowed to dry.
:thumbsup2

My oldest broke her pointer finger at the end of the school year last year. (And the school nurse never even called me...I was a tad miffed!). They splinted it for 4 weeks (it was closeto a tendon and had she pulled it back at all she would have ripped the tendon, so they kept it on for a bit longer)!!!! After the splint came off it took her a bit to get used to being able to bend it.

1 day..this time tomorrow you will be getting hte boys from school....How exciting!:cool1:

3 days and 2 hours for us.......I have sooooo much to do!

Good luck the rest of the day Sherri! I hope it doesn't drag! I hate the last day, it always kills me! Remember to get some sleep tonight, I know it will be tough but try!
