We're back from a brilliant holiday!:cool1: We flew with Easyjet from Bristol into Charles de Gaulle; stayed at the Marriott's Village d'Ile-de-France for 6 nights and had Fantasy APs. I'm not sure that I'll have time to do a full trippie but here are my highs and lows:
HIGHS
• Using the ce-multiavantages site to buy our Fantasy APs: great service and we saved £200 on passes!
• Marriott was as lovely as always. Stayed in Le Verger no. 2001 which was right next to the pool and overlooked the children's play area: perfect!
• Hardly any queues and often being able to stay on rides without having to queue again!
• Saving 75 Euros on 5 days parking with our APs and saving money in the shops and restaurants too!
• DD braving Big Thunder Mountain and Pirates of the Caribbean and loving them!
• Staying toasty warm in our ski-gear despite the freezing temperatures!
• Yummy hot chocolate at the Cable Car Bake Shop!
• Cafe MIckey: good food despite the seriously shortened menu and good character interaction. My two love Pluto and he was brilliant with them.
• Doing the buffet with Remy at Restaurant des Stars. He was so cute! The food was good too!
• Visiting the Disneyland Hotel as my mum and brother were staying there. Loved the feel of it and the closeness to the park but can't beat the Marriott for space and avoiding the Disney food and drink prices!
• Disney on ice: literally! The whole surface of the lake was frozen! It looked amazing!
• Toy Story Playland: my two loved Slinky Dog and DS loved Parachute Drop (though I hated it: too high, too high!):scared1:

LOWS
There are some but they are minor and we had an amazing time despite them!
• There is a lot of hoarding up at the moment in front of the castle and in Fantasyland, which doesn't particularly bother me but may bother a first timer. It will all be gone by April though!
• No Casey Jr or Storybook boats which my two love and did miss but that's just February closures for you!
• An hour's delay on the way out (minor grumble)
• Dumbo being frozen and them shutting the 2 play areas due to ice as DS3 loves all of these :-(
• Cafe Mickey toilets: why are they so often yucky and worthy of a compaint?!
• The price of food and drinks in the park. 3.20 Euros for fries?! 4.10 for a slice of cake?! 2.50 Euros for a small bottle of Diet Coke!? It never ceases to shock me but we bring our own in on the whole so it doesn't really affect us. If you're staying in Disney, use the Esso garage by Santa Fe or the shops in the station!
• The wind chill walking back to the car park on Tuesday was enough to take your breath away! It was indeed chilly!:scared1:

All-in-all it was a great trip, don't think the next will be for a while but with those APs, who knows?!!!

so glad to hear the lines were short, I have to talk my 21 year old son into going to DLP, so that will be a selling point! :cool1:

Glad you had fun. :)

Welcome back. Good to hear so many highs :goodvibes

Sarah,your trip sounded fab!

Can you tell me what times remy appears in RDS,do they post them in advance or is it just luck that he appears?

Sounds like you all had a fantastic time. I'd have loved to see the lake frozen :)

Your dd loving btm and pirates for the first time - always a major milestone, years of fun times ahead. Thanks for posting :goodvibes

Sounds like you've had an amazing time! How did you find easyjet? We are flying with them in September and I'm really anxious about it....

I have no idea exactly what time he appears as he was being wheeled around when we got there. I think it's a bit like the characters at Cafe Mickey though: they do a circuit of the restaurant then disappear and then come out again about 20-30 mins later when new people may have turned up. :confused3

Glad you had a good trip and that the AP's worked , nothing like those discounts :goodvibes

Totally agree about the prices for food and drink it's getting worse and worsev:sad2:

And it's still cold, was there Wednesday pm with the snow and semi frozen main lake near the hotels, keeps you awake like :lmao:

Easyjet were fine. Outbound was very chilled as there were only a few Speedy Boarders who were herded into 1 queue and then it was us as we were travelling with DS3. We were shown to a seated area with the only other family with young children. They called us all in order and it was very smooth and easy. The queue for everybody else was long though so I would recommend getting to the gate as quickly as you can if you are with them.
Charles de Gaulle was a little different! Everyone has to wait in quite a small area with limited seating. No-one is organised into queues so sit or stand close to the gate! We came through security quite late; had nowhere to sit and then when they called for boarding, everyone rushed forwards and we were left at the back. They did call Speedy Boarders first and then us and we had to fight our way to the front which people didn't much like! If we did this again I would stand as close to the gate as I could get, seat or no seat!
All-in-all we had a good experience and I would travel with them again.:thumbsup2

You can say that again! :lmao: I loved it though: all that fresh air and lack of queuing beats the heat and long waits of the summer everytime for me!!! :santa:

Thanks for your help with those APs as well: it was sooo worth it! :thumbsup2

Thanks for that!

The main reason I'm so anxious is probably more to do with timing rather than the actual airline.

We live in the Shetland Islands (right up North of Scotland) and so will be leaving at 7.40am in the morning from here which gets us into Edinburgh airport for 0910am. The flight to Paris is at 1.45 and you have to check in a min of 2 hours before. Is that right actually??? They advise 2 hours on the website? So we will have from 0910 until 1145 to check in which is fine IF there are no delays from Shetland. Obviously we won't know until the day how that is going to go.

I'm thinking to change our travel insurance to include cover for flight delays just in case. Wouldn't want to have to try and get on another flight or even book the next day!!!

Glad to hear you had a great time. The hot chocolate was our saviour when we went in Dec 2010 and it was cold. I know what you mean though we were having to spend a fortune just to get a couple of hot drinks and a couple of cakes:confused3

Check-in opens 2 hours before but you can check-in up to 40 minutes before so you have a little more time. After this they will not accept you to fly, even if there is a delay!

Oh that's made me feel a lot more at ease :goodvibes thanks

I'm glad you can get away with 40 minutes. Just in case anything goes wrong which i'm sure it won't but you have to take these things into consideration. I dont mind getting stuck in paris, but I do want to get away :lmao:
