We're back from a brilliant holiday!
We flew with Easyjet from Bristol into Charles de Gaulle; stayed at the Marriott's Village d'Ile-de-France for 6 nights and had Fantasy APs. I'm not sure that I'll have time to do a full trippie but here are my highs and lows:
HIGHS
Using the ce-multiavantages site to buy our Fantasy APs: great service and we saved £200 on passes!
Marriott was as lovely as always. Stayed in Le Verger no. 2001 which was right next to the pool and overlooked the children's play area: perfect!
Hardly any queues and often being able to stay on rides without having to queue again!
Saving 75 Euros on 5 days parking with our APs and saving money in the shops and restaurants too!
DD braving Big Thunder Mountain and Pirates of the Caribbean and loving them!
Staying toasty warm in our ski-gear despite the freezing temperatures!
Yummy hot chocolate at the Cable Car Bake Shop!
Cafe MIckey: good food despite the seriously shortened menu and good character interaction. My two love Pluto and he was brilliant with them.
Doing the buffet with Remy at Restaurant des Stars. He was so cute! The food was good too!
Visiting the Disneyland Hotel as my mum and brother were staying there. Loved the feel of it and the closeness to the park but can't beat the Marriott for space and avoiding the Disney food and drink prices!
Disney on ice: literally! The whole surface of the lake was frozen! It looked amazing!
Toy Story Playland: my two loved Slinky Dog and DS loved Parachute Drop (though I hated it: too high, too high!)
LOWS
There are some but they are minor and we had an amazing time despite them!
There is a lot of hoarding up at the moment in front of the castle and in Fantasyland, which doesn't particularly bother me but may bother a first timer. It will all be gone by April though!
No Casey Jr or Storybook boats which my two love and did miss but that's just February closures for you!
An hour's delay on the way out (minor grumble)
Dumbo being frozen and them shutting the 2 play areas due to ice as DS3 loves all of these :-(
Cafe Mickey toilets: why are they so often yucky and worthy of a compaint?!
The price of food and drinks in the park. 3.20 Euros for fries?! 4.10 for a slice of cake?! 2.50 Euros for a small bottle of Diet Coke!? It never ceases to shock me but we bring our own in on the whole so it doesn't really affect us. If you're staying in Disney, use the Esso garage by Santa Fe or the shops in the station!
The wind chill walking back to the car park on Tuesday was enough to take your breath away! It was indeed chilly!
All-in-all it was a great trip, don't think the next will be for a while but with those APs, who knows?!!!
