Hello everyone were back and oh was it great again.
We stayed for 5 days at POR in building #27 and it was perfect. The rooms were renovated and the beds are huge!!!!! The staff was great and the layout what I saw and the grounds were gorgious. Only ate at the food court once and that was the day we left but the food was good. The building was a very short walk to the main building and the place was very clean. The buses were good except coming back from M.K. The buses were better at ASM. Any one have questions, I'll try to answer them. Were a family of 5 and the trundle bed was perfect for our 5 year old and even husband was going to use it but didn't but could of. Kids were very impressed with the two sinks. The 1st maid we had was perfect. No animal towels but she lined the kids stuffed animals up every evening we returned. She gave us extra towels because were a family of 5 and she was great. Unfortunately after 3 days we lost her and that night we came back to the room with the dirty towels still in the bathtub. Phoned down and within 10 minutes someone was up and with towels and some to spare. Now that is service.Checking in and out was about 10 - 15 minute wait. Checking in was about 11:30am and checking out was about 10:30 am. I had requested top floor, no smoking and building #27 and asked when we got there if they could honour any of those and the gentlemen said of course. Wishing I was there again.

Glad to hear you had such a nice experience! Personally I have never had a bad experience at DW but I am especially happy to hear that you enjoyed POR. It looks like a lovely place. We are staying there in July. Two rooms for us this time. My kids are 19 and 15 and last year it was bit close with all of us in the same room! :earsboy:

glad you had a great trip. You said the beds were huge....what size were they?
We stayed at CBR last year and thought they beds were very small 2 full size..... we sleep on a king at home so that is a HUge difference. we have resevations at POFQ this July and justwondering what size they beds will be there.

I'm not sure, but I think I read somewhere that they have extra long double beds. Can't remember where I saw that, maybe someone else can help!

I guess I should of explained. They were doubles but the beds were way off the ground and the mattresses were very wide in depth not length. Like when I got up in the morning, I hung my feet off the side of the bed and they were not even half way down to the floor. My 3 1/2 if he had fallen out of bed it was a big drop compared to the beds we have at home.

Glad you had a great time. I love POR too, esp. how they redid the rooms. Best mousekeeping I've ever had.

Glad to hear you had such a nice time! We will be staying there for the first time in May! Can't wait! :Pinkbounc

:goodvibes :goodvibes Glad to hear you had a great time. We are staying in the mansions in a few weeks. I know that they were refurbished last year as we were there when Oak Terrace was going through it. We stayed in Building 14 last year and it was very nice. We're all so excited! :Pinkbounc
Did the DTD boat run when you were there? I read that for a little while it wasn't running. A little worried about that as we plan on going to DTD several times. Another question please....are the pools all heated? Thanks again....

How great for you! We were in bldg 27 in May 2004 and the rooms were not yet renovated, but they were great anyways. I'm glad you had fun!

I'm already planning our May 2006 return to POR, I can't wait!!!!

Thanks for your thread!!!! I am so glad that you enjoyed your stay. We are leaving in 5 days for POR. This is our 1st trip to DW and I can hardly wait.

I struggled with which resort to stay at and finally chose POR. I thought it would be a nice blend for both kids and mom and dad.

Your post makes me feel really good about our choice.

I think you'll love POR, Petrymom. We really have good memories of our stay there. If you click on my username, you can visit my photos homepage.

Have fun on your trip! Sending lots of pixie dust your way! :wizard:

I know the pools are heated but we didn't have time to get in them. We want to next time leave a whole day to explore the grounds because it was so beautiful of what little we saw. The boat was running but we didn't get to use it but people on the board have said it is a great ride and it is romantic with or without kids.
Hope this helps.

thank you for your review of POR disneyof3. I just booked this resort for our june vacation and i'm so excited. it sounds wonderful. I noticed that you checked in at 11:30 am. Did you request an early check in or was the room just ready when you got there? it would be great to be able to check in so early. Do you happen to know what they charge for the carriage rides or to rent one of the mouse boats(think that's what it's called).Glad you had a nice time.

Great to hear your stories - we leave for POR soon and are so excited. Maybe you could answer a few questions we've been thinking about.
Just wondering if you would recommend a taxi home from the parks- did you ever use them?
Were there hottubs at the private pools?
What bus stop would you recommend in the mornings?
Thanks in advance.

The hot tub is at the main pool area. But the quiet pools are in a very lush setting and are quite relaxing themselves.

I would recommend the main bus stop at the front of the resort, especially in the a.m Its very convenient to the food court...so you can fuel up to take off!!!

and really enjoyed it. It was our 2nd time there (we've also been to POFQ once). In '99 we stayed in the AB and throughly enjoyed it. This time, my DW requested the Mansions and we were in Acadian House, room 8030. This was a great King Bed room.
I hope you got to see Bob "The Piano Man" Jackson perform in the River Roost Lounge while you were there! He's really something special.

No I didn't ask for a early check in time. We arrived the night before in Kissimee and shopped there when we got up in the morning. We were excited to get to Disney so we headed over in hope that the room was ready. We got lucky and that was it.We saw people riding but we didn't request or ask for the $.

Several things I have seen about the carriage rides say they are $30. I haven't seen anything about the mouseboats though.
