Just back from our first cruise, the Magic/Western. It was great! I cruised with my two teens-15 and 16. The hubby is pushing me to book one for when he finishes school in Oct 2005.
Just dropped off 15 rolls of film ....$$$
The weather was perfect, no seasickness, no excursions cancelled--doesn't get much better than that!
We had plenty of room for our things (and we were in cat 10), we did not need a night light (kids are older) but found the shoe holder useful.
Don't miss the shows--we all loved them. We loved stingray city and snorkeling everywhere! We booked all the excursions on our own and weren't disappointed with any. Parasailed with Fury in Keywest with the kids--it was a blast!
Used Happy Limo-found them to be a little expensive, but very reliable.
Consider color coordinating clothes for the formal pictures--happened by chance in one of the photos and looks great.
Take more film than you think you will use! Pack less clothes than you think you need
Unfortunately missed the DIS meet--so watch the time if you want to make yours.
Buy a journal for the kids and have them write a little each night, you will love reading them once you get back.
We are having a welcome home party for us this weekend where we will share all our stories, memories and pictures with our family and friends that were not with us.
We will have several kinds of the rum cake sliced and available with coffee. The kids will regail them with anectodes, look at pictures, the table will be covered with memorabilia like luggage tags, drink glasses, leis, etc. I will send them each home with a slice of their favorite rum cake and a Mickey Lotion from the room.
Keep reading these boards, found the tips wonderful and most of all loved sharing the enthusiasim and anticipation!
