Hi. We checked in a few days ago and I forgot how pretty this hotel is.....haven't been here since Dixie Landings days. We either stay at Pop or one of the deluxes with an AP rate, but none were offered for this time of the year except the BC or YC. Since we stayed at the BC last year, we thought we'd give Riverside a try. We're in Alligator Bayou and the room is great. I think at any hotel you can nit-pick and find something wrong, but for us it would have to be something major for us to even care. There was a tear in one of the bedspreads and a cracked tile.I probably wouldn't have even noticed if I hadn't read the Dis boards:rotfl2: I think with thousands of hotel rooms, Disney does an outstanding job. Things sometimes get missed. I am just thrilled to be here with my family. On a side note, try to find a clean, reasonably priced room driving down here from Chicago. $120 for a Hampton Inn for 8 hours.:scared1:
Oh.....another great thing I discovered....the foodcourt takes the Disney Dining Experience card:woohoo: 20% off!!

Just wanted to pop in and say

HAVE A WONDERFUL TIME, LOVE LOVE LOVE POR!!!!

We'll be at POR in a few weeks. : )

How are the buses running? Do you have long waits for the buses, or is the service pretty good right now?

Enjoy your vacation! I hope it's loaded with pixie dust!!

I didn't know that about the DDE being used at POR food court, I thought that it was only POFQ. Thanks, that helps my food bill!

Have you tryed fishing at the fishing pond?

We stayed at POR in 05. Trying to decide if we want to stay there again or try OKW.

We will be at POR next month. As a family of 5. Me (27), dh (28) , ds(5), nephew(13) and my mother. Do you think the rooms in AB will work for us? I've had my worries about the size of the room.

Hope you have a magical trip, I can't wait for ours!

depends on how much time you spend in the room. We also have 5 but we were only in the room to sleep so it didn't bother us. Last trip we brought a blow up air mattress and put it either between the beds or in front of the sinks so the kids didn't have to share. Made for much more peaceful nights!

We are staying at POFQ in 3 weeks!! :yay:

Can you tell me how the hairdryers are in the rooms? I am debating bringing my own or just using the one they offer...thanks!!

We just got home from 12 nights in room 1417! It was fabulous. Be sure to check out the pasta station in the foodcourt. I got the fettucine with shrimp, pesto sauce, pine nuts, spinach and mushrooms. It was so much food that I usually shared with one of the kids.

Thanks everyone for your will wishes:love:

The buses have been fine. It's all in the timing. If you get to the bus stop
right after one just left, you'll probably have a wait. We left Magic Kingdom mid afternoon and they had separate buses for French Quarter and Riverside.
The nice thing about Port Orleans is that it is really centrally located.
The boat trip to Downtown Disney was nice.

We got here on Monday. We've had some rain, but it comes down hard and quick and then it's over. Today they made the kids leave Blizzard Beach because it got real dark, but it never did rain.

We didn't do any fishing because we have live on a lake in northern Illinois and can't see paying $ to fish when we can do it in our yard for free;) .

They have the typical small white hairdryers that hang on the wall. If you have real thick hair, it might take a while to dry your hair.

It's me,DH, 2teenage daughters and a 9 year old in our room. The space has been fine. Crazy4Disney....is your Mom getting the bed? Unless she is short, she may not be comfortable on the trundle. We do have an air mattress between the 2 beds and it's a tight squeeze.

klj27...I'll have to try the pasta bar. The salad bar(they make it for you) is also excellent. I've had it 2 days in a row. :thumbsup2

What's the schedule for the boats to and from DD?

Have you seen Bob Jackson's show yet?

Thanks.

We had three adults and two kids in a room BUT we were all females (my cousins, kids, and myself.) I would not feel that comfortable had it been my husband there with my mom or whatnot...it was not cramped per say just close quarters if you get my point...

If your mom and husband and yourself feel ok with being close to each other during changing times and showering and sleeping then it will be fine. They do have curtain to pull for a dressing area. Have the smallest kid sleep on the trundle. It may be hard for gma or an adult to get in and out of the floor bed....

The resort is great...OP glad you are enjoying yourse;f. I am like you...I really do not find too much to coplain about when in a WDW hotel room...

when we were there the food court was closed so I am looking forward to using the new one!popcorn::
