Well, this trip was....different. UPDATE - 9/1!

I love the MK opening show, too! It's just wonderful. :goodvibes Good to see Marie has joined in on the fun! She is such a little cutie.

I'm sorry you just missed the preview of New Fantasyland! That really must stink. I can't wait to see it all either!

That PhilharMagic picture is SO pretty! I mean, I know it's just the building, but still. It just looks so pretty for some reason.

I've seen Aladdin and Jasmine riding the Magic Carpets right BEFORE I rode, but I've never been on a ride with a character either. How cute that you saw Alice! I just think it's the coolest thing ever that they have the characters ride the rides sometimes. It really adds to the magic! pixiedust:

I LOVE Reid's excitement in all these pictures! So adorable!

MK rope drop is my favorite! Best way to start the day, especially with Ohana in your tummies and no lines in Fantasyland! Sounds like the perfect start to a perfect MK day. :-)

What a awesome experience to see Alice on the tea cups! I thought those happenings were Disney myths! Lol

There was even a Photopass photographer there, so that was nice.

Continuation coming right up.........

Wow - that was great running into a PP photographer, but your candid shots of Reid are equally good. He just looks so thrilled to be at MK and by his smile I can tell that you guys had a great morning.

I'm home and just got caught up! :cool1:

I kind of wanted to make it to MK for rope drop this time, but it never happened. I think I might have seen the show before but I don't really remember it. It looks like fun.

I love the sword pictures. That shot of Reid and his dad is great too--they look so much alike!

Well, I'm here and catching up! Prepare yourself for a VERY long response! :lmao:

Reid is so cute in his car seat and I'm loving your updates on the car ride portion of the trip.

Also, I didn't know you were going on a cruise in the spring? Awesome! One of these days, we'll get around to that, too!

I totally get it about the cash thing; I never carry it, either. Its one of those things...you don't need it until you need it!

Max had that Mickey t-shirt Reid is wearing at Wide World of Sports. So cute! I love when I'm reading other people's TRs and spot Disney shirts Max owns.

You've just arrived at the Beach Club! And that sign is maybe my second favorite in all of Disney! Lol. Seriously, though, our July trip just solidified what I already knew was true: I love BC!

As for Mr. Huffy in the BC line: I still can't understand how you spend all the money you spend on a Disney vacation and show up with no plans and no clue. I wouldn't go to Paris without reading up on first! Sheesh.

Ah, yes...the toy face-off. We had way too many of those with Max on our second trip with him. The last two I told him that he had a "budget." He really wanted the monorail set and I said, sure, but it will blow your whole budget, so you have to really think about what you want before we buy anything. Worked like a charm!

Uh-oh...you're not loving the Beach Club? Interesting... Max was all over the pirate slide the first time we stayed at BC. This most recent trip he loved the big slide and went on it again and again and again...lol.

Sorry you a far awalk to your room. We got super lucky the first time and were moved to a room that was very close to the elevators. In July, that was my onw room request. At check-in, I discovered that hadn't granted it, but when I asked (nicely...no huffing for me!) they moved us to a room that was about five steps away from the elevator.

Why beat yourself up about your running time? You got to do your first Disrun and it was fifty minutes faster than all the people who never ran.

You opted NOT to go to SAB? Huh. Do I love going to pools that much more than the average person? Apparently, but then, I did swim competitively as a kid, so there's that.

Congrats to Ed for doing the 10 miler! I'm still in awe of people who run.

The Yacht Club is beautiful, too. A little different vibe, but just gorgeous. I love the red striped awnings outside, as well.

Yep, Beaches and Cream is always insanely busy. We've sat at the counter both times we've eaten there, actually.

Sorry you didn't fall in love with the Beach Club. It is the greatest, though, if you really love pool time. Also, EPCOT. I wonder if you would have felt at all differently had you gone in to EPCOT? I really just think that whole area is beautiful and would be happy to stay at any of those resorts. Then again, I'm the person who had an-almost MK view room at the Poly and didn't fall in love with that resort. I think we all see and want different things from our resorts. Luckily, there are so many to choose from!

But you're off to one of my new favorites: OKW! I really liked this resort. I think part of it is that I like the resorts that have any sort of beach-y,. Florida theme since you're in...you know...Florida! Go figure, right? Because you're in Louisiana the weather may not impact you as much, but I just enjoyed sitting in the breeze at OKW and relaxing. Made me want to pack up and move to Florida immediately.

Great costumes for the Halloween party! I'm terrible at coming up with costume ideas. Needless to say, my friend and I opted to go without costumes when went in October. Lol. But we saw some great ones, inlcuding my personal fave: a girl dressed as the computer tech girl from Spaceship Earth, afro included!

I know what you mean about just soaking in the atmosphere. I took almost no pictures in October and I can't say that I regert that decision. Especially since Max wasn't there, I really enjoyed being able to savor the moment. Plus, I'm not a great photographer.

Sorry about all the rain at MNSSHP. We've gotten ridiculously lucky with rain at Disney. As in, we've barely had any. Weird, right? I probably just cursed myself and now it will rain and be 65 degrees for my upcoming trip.

And what makes preschoolers inexplicably decide they don't want to do things at the last minute, like watch fireworks? And then a few minutes later, they do? You were not the least big wrong in ignoring him. When Max was going through his really horrendous trantrum throwing phase, that was one of my primary strategies: get him away from people if we were in public and then just let him have at it. Its so hard to know what's right.

Glad you had such a good time at the party! Reid looked like he had a blast!

Thanks for the update on the Great Wolf Lodge. The VA location and the PA location aren't all that far away. After I saw you mention that you were going on FB I checked them out and it looks really cool. It would be a neat add-on if we go back down to D.C. and then go down to Colonial Williamsburg.

I have zero desire to go to Universal. I think nearly all of their thrill rides would be a bit too thrilling for me. Suesslanding looks cool, though. I also never read Harry Potter and, at this point, am waiting for Max to be old enough and then maybe we'll read them together.

I'm so glad that your date night worked out well for you. The Neverland Club is great and Max enjoyed the one at the Beach Club, too. They do a great job with the kids' clubs. Not that I'd expect anything less from Disney, but you never know. Citrico's is excellent! Great service, great food, and its a nice, quite romantic spot.

I love the GF lobby. It makes me feel like I walked into Mary Poppins or Lady and the Tramp. If they ever renovate the rooms to look as amazing as the lobby, I would love to stay there.

Your tea cup pictures are incredible! Reid look so happy! I've heard of the whole character riding rides thing, but I've never seen it, either. And, you're right, how cool that she picked some slightly older kids?

:scratchin I thought I had commented on your date night. Maybe not? In any case, looks like a good one. I didn't realize that Neverland Club was so affordable. That seems like a great deal!

Sorry to hear about Reid being a bit of a stinker at breakfast. Having 4 kids... yeah... not sure why they sometimes choose times when you are all suppose to be having a good time to be moody.

10/2 we were in MK! We were over at CP though as you were coming through. Still fun to look through pics to see if we ended up in any. I had a panic attack now though... you saw Alice on 10/2 ride with a couple little girls. I too saw her ride with a couple little girls. When I went to see if Reid was in my pics (I was in line and took pics of Alice and the girls) I found no pictures. Turns out that she rode at about that same time on 9/26.

I do enjoy your RD ceremony pics. Do you know in all the days were were there we did not make it to the ceremony ONCE?!? :faint: I do love that ceremony too. :sad2:

As always... your pictures of everything are quite amazing! They make me want to be back to WDW...NOW! :goodvibes

I could watch that show before the MK opens and unlike some things... it never ever gets old...:goodvibes

Loved you had an Alice siting on HER ride... how cool was that?

Tigger gets a lot of love... but so does Pooh... everyone has their favorite...:thumbsup2

Looks like whatever impishness had take over Reid at Ohana... was largely gone... great big grins everywhere...:goodvibes

(Don't you wish the sword had come out? Can you imagine the great photo op-the look on his face would have been priceless... He looked like he was giving it a pretty good tug too...)

I adore the Welcome Show at Magic Kingdom. It just makes me so happy!! :goodvibes Looks like a pretty successful morning!! The pictures with Tigger were too cute!

Love the Ohana pictures! Reid looks so happy.:goodvibes Its our favorite! We had some bad behavior from Anthony on our latest trip.:scared: I guess it's the age?

I so enjoy MK's Opening Ceremony. It always makes me tear up.

Your pictures are amazing! Love the ones of Beast's & Eric's castles.

The sword pics & tea cup pics are precious! Reid is too cute.

I hope you have a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

Amanda, stopping by to wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas.

tiggerchristmas.jpg

Kudos for you doing that trail run. I don't know that I would particularly like them, The first and last .25 mile of my run when I run at home is on a trail and it's definitely not my favorite part of the run.

I do have a couple of questions about IOA. . .I'm going in February. When you get there and park, you say you parked in the preferred area (which I plan to do) and go through CityWalk. Is that an easy area to find? I'll also have to pick up tickets because I got a package, so they told me that I could do like 30 min parking, run get my tickets, and head back to the hotel.

Finally getting around to doing replies. Sorry it has taken me so long!

So cool that Alice rode the teacups :goodvibes

OK, like Reid, I LOVE Tigger...he really gives great hugs too ::yes::

Amanda, MY favorite pic so far is Reid watching the Rope Drop Show...SO Precious that sweet face :lovestruc

Awww....thank you! That sweet face can also make some mean little faces, trust me. :rotfl:

I love how Reid just seems to be loving it all, and just having a blast! It is true, his little face all lit up is adorable!. Sorry I seem to be using the word adorable over and over again to describe him, but I can't help it!!:goodvibes

Thank you...he's definitely adorable when he's not being a Mr. Grumpypants. :lmao:

He was really happy to be in MK once we got there.

Ok, first of all, I might have gotten closer to the new Fantasyland stuff than you did, but your pictures are way better. I probably took and deleted about 20 pictures of the Beast's castle and none of them look anywhere near as good as the one you posted. I so wish our camera wouldn't have acted up on us. :sad2:

Thank you! Though I'm really sorry to hear that y'all had camera problems. That is so frustrating when you're on vacation.

That show is just an amazing way to start the day. :goodvibes

It really is! It just makes you even more excited than you already are!

You really did a good job of getting in and getting things done. It's always nice to be able to do almost a full days worth of rides in a couple of hours.

Thanks! We had a few days for MK but this was our one day to be in there early and stay late if we needed. So, I really wanted to make sure we accomplished our "must do" rides.

I've never been on a ride with a character either, but that really is kind of cool, and nice that Alice interacted with some older kids too. It is nice to see them involved instead of just catering to the younger ones all the time.

It was really neat to observe that happening for those girls. It's fun to see a little bit older kids get all giddy over a character.

Reid looks like he had a lot of fun with Tigger. We didn't get to meet them this time, but I'm sure our DS would be the same way. He loves Tigger, but I'm not sure he'd pay any attention to Pooh. :rotfl2:

I felt so bad for Pooh Bear. Poor guy was just standing there, holding his hands, swaying back and forth. :rotfl:

Wow! Beautiful pictures!!! :thumbsup2

That's so cool that Alice was riding with those girls! How fun!

Reid is adorable! What great timing you had to meet Tigger and Pooh!

Thank you!!

It was exciting to see Alice on the Teacups at the same time as us.

Awww....thank you! I was glad we didn't have to wait long to meet them.

Well, you know the drill - I'll have to check back when I can see your pictures although it sounds like a great update.

Thank you!

We've seen Alice ride before, we were still in line, very cool she was right next to you!

Love Reid with Tigger- so cute! Loving the report- thank you!

I was so excited to finally see a character on a ride. I was starting to wonder if that ever really happened.

Thank you for reading along!

Love the FLE pics! Can't wait to see it in person.

Thank you!! I am with you - I really ready to see that area in person and ride the Little Mermaid ride!

You guys got a lot of rides done that morning! I can't believe how many rides had short lines. Love that Alice got on the teacups, and with some older girls. What a great memory for them.

We were on a roll that morning! Even with Reid arguing with me a couple of times about what ride to go on, we were really moving along quite nicely.

That's an amazing photo of Ed and Reid. I can see why you love it. :goodvibes

Thanks!

luvin all the pics. Reid looks so happy meeting Tigger but poor Pooh bear :goodvibes

Thank you! I know....poor Pooh was not getting any love from my boy.

Great updates, Amanda. You got a lot done in the morning at the MK. I'm glad the photopass photographer was at the Sword for Reid. And I must agree with Reid...although I love Pooh, Tigger would be getting "all my love."

Thank you!!

We were really getting a lot done this day. Reid doesn't watch anything with Pooh Bear and friends often, so I was kind of taken back by how excited he was to meet Tigger.

I love the MK opening show, too! It's just wonderful. :goodvibes Good to see Marie has joined in on the fun! She is such a little cutie.

I love Marie, too! That has always been one of my favorite Disney books/movies. In fact, Reid now has my Aristocats book from when I was a little girl.

I'm sorry you just missed the preview of New Fantasyland! That really must stink. I can't wait to see it all either!

I really can't wait to see that area. I'm not excited about the Enchanted Tales with Belle. But, I am eager just to see everything, to ride Little Mermaid and to check out BoG and Gaston's Tavern. Probably the thing I'm most excited about though is the Dwarves Mine Coaster.

That PhilharMagic picture is SO pretty! I mean, I know it's just the building, but still. It just looks so pretty for some reason.

Thank you!! I do like that picture, too.

I've seen Aladdin and Jasmine riding the Magic Carpets right BEFORE I rode, but I've never been on a ride with a character either. How cute that you saw Alice! I just think it's the coolest thing ever that they have the characters ride the rides sometimes. It really adds to the magic! pixiedust:

I was so excited to finally see a character do this. I had only heard about it on the DIS before then.

I LOVE Reid's excitement in all these pictures! So adorable!

Thank you so much!!

MK rope drop is my favorite! Best way to start the day, especially with Ohana in your tummies and no lines in Fantasyland! Sounds like the perfect start to a perfect MK day. :-)

I was really happy we were able to make it for the RD show. It really makes the start of your MK day so much more fun!

What a awesome experience to see Alice on the tea cups! I thought those happenings were Disney myths! Lol

Me, too!! I was so excited to finally see this happen in person!

Wow - that was great running into a PP photographer, but your candid shots of Reid are equally good. He just looks so thrilled to be at MK and by his smile I can tell that you guys had a great morning.

Thank you!! We were really having a lot of fun and getting a lot done that day.

Thank you!!

Oh yes, Reid is the spitting image of Ed. But, Ed says he acts just like me. I don't know if that's good or bad. :lmao:

Well, I'm here and catching up! Prepare yourself for a VERY long response! :lmao:

Hey! I'm just glad to see you back on the DIS! Make sure you come back after your upcoming vacation! :goodvibes

Reid is so cute in his car seat and I'm loving your updates on the car ride portion of the trip.

Thank you! I was happily surprised by how well he did in the car.

Also, I didn't know you were going on a cruise in the spring? Awesome! One of these days, we'll get around to that, too!

It's definitely worth trying out at least once. We are all excited to get to do a longer cruise this time. And it'll be nice to have my aunt and uncle with us since we have so much fun with them.

I totally get it about the cash thing; I never carry it, either. Its one of those things...you don't need it until you need it!

Right?!? I was somewhere the other day and ended up needing to buy something....maybe a bottle of water. Anyway, it was only $1.07 but I had to put it on my card. :rotfl:

Max had that Mickey t-shirt Reid is wearing at Wide World of Sports. So cute! I love when I'm reading other people's TRs and spot Disney shirts Max owns.

I love that shirt too! Did you get Max's at Target? Target always has some of the cutest Disney shirts. And so affordable, too.

You've just arrived at the Beach Club! And that sign is maybe my second favorite in all of Disney! Lol. Seriously, though, our July trip just solidified what I already knew was true: I love BC!

I am glad that we did a stay at BC to see how we liked it.

As for Mr. Huffy in the BC line: I still can't understand how you spend all the money you spend on a Disney vacation and show up with no plans and no clue. I wouldn't go to Paris without reading up on first! Sheesh.

I know, right?!? I just don't understand people like that. It makes no sense to me whatsoever. And then to be mad at Disney? :confused3 I don't get it.

Ah, yes...the toy face-off. We had way too many of those with Max on our second trip with him. The last two I told him that he had a "budget." He really wanted the monorail set and I said, sure, but it will blow your whole budget, so you have to really think about what you want before we buy anything. Worked like a charm!

I think I'm going to have to set a budget with Reid next time around as well. Good thing about the cruise is that we don't really go into shops or pass them for that matter. So, he doesn't really have souvenirs on the brain as much.

Uh-oh...you're not loving the Beach Club? Interesting... Max was all over the pirate slide the first time we stayed at BC. This most recent trip he loved the big slide and went on it again and again and again...lol.

I think Reid would probably do the big slide now that he did some slides at Great Wolf Lodge.

I liked Beach Club....I just didn't love it. Maybe I had too high of expectations and so I was let down?

Sorry you a far awalk to your room. We got super lucky the first time and were moved to a room that was very close to the elevators. In July, that was my onw room request. At check-in, I discovered that hadn't granted it, but when I asked (nicely...no huffing for me!) they moved us to a room that was about five steps away from the elevator.

I would definitely make that room request if we stay in any of the EPCOT resorts again.

Why beat yourself up about your running time? You got to do your first Disrun and it was fifty minutes faster than all the people who never ran.

I was just so disappointed since I had been doing so much better at home. But, I think if I ever do a Disney race again, I'll be able to better prepare myself for it.

You opted NOT to go to SAB? Huh. Do I love going to pools that much more than the average person? Apparently, but then, I did swim competitively as a kid, so there's that.

Yeah, Ed and I aren't huge pool people. But, I think we'll have to change that as Reid is getting older. Though, we may opt for the waterpark option. Him and Ed do love waterslides so that may be a better fit for us.

Congrats to Ed for doing the 10 miler! I'm still in awe of people who run.

Thank you! I'm very proud of him for doing the race.

The Yacht Club is beautiful, too. A little different vibe, but just gorgeous. I love the red striped awnings outside, as well.

I was really surprised by how much I liked the decor there.

Yep, Beaches and Cream is always insanely busy. We've sat at the counter both times we've eaten there, actually.

I would love to go eat there again. If we do, we'll definitely get there for opening again.

I did think the location was fantastic. I think I was just let down by some of the things on the inside. I do still really want to try Boardwalk and am seriously considering it for a future trip.

I was surprised by how much we liked OKW. I was really unsure of staying there prior to the trip. But, it's very pretty and peaceful. I still want to try out other resorts but I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. And especially in a studio...it was really spacious and I liked that it had 2 queen beds.

Thank you!! It took me forever to come up with a costume theme for us.

I would have loved to see that costume! That part of the Spaceship Earth ride always makes me giggle.

I know what you mean about just soaking in the atmosphere. I took almost no pictures in October and I can't say that I regert that decision. Especially since Max wasn't there, I really enjoyed being able to savor the moment. Plus, I'm not a great photographer.

It really is a different, nice experience.

Sorry about all the rain at MNSSHP. We've gotten ridiculously lucky with rain at Disney. As in, we've barely had any. Weird, right? I probably just cursed myself and now it will rain and be 65 degrees for my upcoming trip.

We've never experienced so much rain at Disney like we did on this past trip. It really was miserable sometimes.

It really is hard to know the right thing to do. I don't have a problem ignoring Reid at home. But, in public, you usually end up getting nasty stares from people. But, I just didn't care at that moment.

Glad you had such a good time at the party! Reid looked like he had a blast!

It really ended up being a great night! I would say it was my favorite night of the trip.

Thanks for the update on the Great Wolf Lodge. The VA location and the PA location aren't all that far away. After I saw you mention that you were going on FB I checked them out and it looks really cool. It would be a neat add-on if we go back down to D.C. and then go down to Colonial Williamsburg.

It's definitely worth looking in to! We had a blast and Reid keeps asking to go back. When Reid is a tad older, I want to go to the one in VA and also check out Williamsburg.

I have zero desire to go to Universal. I think nearly all of their thrill rides would be a bit too thrilling for me. Suesslanding looks cool, though. I also never read Harry Potter and, at this point, am waiting for Max to be old enough and then maybe we'll read them together.

Seussland is so cute. I will say that the theming at Islands of Adventure is really well done. And once y'all do read Potter, it's worth going to at least once to see it all come to life.

I am so glad that after reading about your date night at Citricos, I decided to do the same for us. I think it was great for all 3 of us. And Citricos was just delicious!

I love the GF lobby. It makes me feel like I walked into Mary Poppins or Lady and the Tramp. If they ever renovate the rooms to look as amazing as the lobby, I would love to stay there.

It's a very pretty resort. I'm still unsure though if I would actually want to stay there. :confused3

Your tea cup pictures are incredible! Reid look so happy! I've heard of the whole character riding rides thing, but I've never seen it, either. And, you're right, how cool that she picked some slightly older kids?

Thank you!! I was so excited to see Alice riding. I love seeing Disney magic at work, even if it's not directly happening to us.

:scratchin I thought I had commented on your date night. Maybe not? In any case, looks like a good one. I didn't realize that Neverland Club was so affordable. That seems like a great deal!

I was very happy with the Neverland Club! And I would have thought they would charge something outrageous. I can definitely see us utilizing them again the future!

Sorry to hear about Reid being a bit of a stinker at breakfast. Having 4 kids... yeah... not sure why they sometimes choose times when you are all suppose to be having a good time to be moody.

Thanks. It really just got the day started off on the wrong foot for all of us. I was glad he got in a better mood when the characters started coming out.

That's too funny that we were in MK on the same day and still didn't run into each other!

I do enjoy your RD ceremony pics. Do you know in all the days were were there we did not make it to the ceremony ONCE?!? :faint: I do love that ceremony too. :sad2:

Thank you! I was glad we made it that day since we missed it on our last MK day.

As always... your pictures of everything are quite amazing! They make me want to be back to WDW...NOW! :goodvibes

Thank you so much!

I could watch that show before the MK opens and unlike some things... it never ever gets old...:goodvibes

I agree! I just love that show so much.

Loved you had an Alice siting on HER ride... how cool was that?

I was so excited when I turned around and saw her walking into the ride!

Tigger gets a lot of love... but so does Pooh... everyone has their favorite...:thumbsup2

You are so right! Though I couldn't help but feel a little bad for old Pooh Bear.

Looks like whatever impishness had take over Reid at Ohana... was largely gone... great big grins everywhere...:goodvibes

Yes....thankfully!

(Don't you wish the sword had come out? Can you imagine the great photo op-the look on his face would have been priceless... He looked like he was giving it a pretty good tug too...)

That would have been awesome! He really was giving it his all with that sword.

I adore the Welcome Show at Magic Kingdom. It just makes me so happy!! :goodvibes Looks like a pretty successful morning!! The pictures with Tigger were too cute!

Thank you! We were really getting a lot done in MK that day!

Love the Ohana pictures! Reid looks so happy.:goodvibes Its our favorite! We had some bad behavior from Anthony on our latest trip.:scared: I guess it's the age?

Thank you!! I do think it's the age. I think this trip was harder than his trips when he was 2 and 3. Hopefully, we won't have as much attitude on the cruise. Of course, there I can always check him into the kids club and just walk away. :lmao:

I so enjoy MK's Opening Ceremony. It always makes me tear up.

I love it! It just makes me that much more excited to be at MK!

Your pictures are amazing! Love the ones of Beast's & Eric's castles.

Thank you so much!!

The sword pics & tea cup pics are precious! Reid is too cute.

Thanks!

I hope you have a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

Thank you! I hope y'all had a Merry Christmas! I can't believe it will be 2013 next week! :scared1:

Amanda, stopping by to wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas.

tiggerchristmas.jpg

Thank you so much!!

I hope y'all had a Merry Christmas as well!

Thank you!!

Hope your Christmas was very Merry!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!! HAVE A WONDERFUL HOLIDAY WITH YOUR FAMILY!:flower1:

Thank you!!

I hope y'all had a great holiday as well!

Kudos for you doing that trail run. I don't know that I would particularly like them, The first and last .25 mile of my run when I run at home is on a trail and it's definitely not my favorite part of the run.

Thank you! I learned from that race that I really do not like trail runs. I don't know if I'd want to do another race like that.

It's all very easy to find. There's lots of signage pointing you from the parking area towards CitiWalk. When you get into CitiWalk, you'll walk down until you can't go straight anymore (you'd run into water) and then you'll hang a left. And it's a not a far walk from CitiWalk to IoA.

Are you staying at one of the Universal hotels?

Hi, everyone! I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas.

I’m so sorry I’m just getting back to doing replies and updates. Seems like this month has just been so busy in preparing for the holiday season. Between shopping, school activities and traveling, I have been going nonstop. But, hopefully, that is all done now and I can get back to DISing regularly!

Anyway, thank you for understanding and I hope y’all haven’t abandoned me!

Okay, back to the trip report..........

When I left off a couple of weeks ago, we were at Magic Kingdom. The day had kind of started off rough with a bad attitude from Reid at ‘Ohanas but it was improving. We were getting many rides accomplished in Fantasyland and had just finished up meeting Pooh and Tigger.

After our meet and greet, we felt done with Fantasyland. So, we decided to move on to here:

Our first order of business was Dumbo. We went in and even though there wasn’t a wait, Reid wanted to play in the tent. I didn’t take any picture because, quite honestly, my anxiety was a bit high. There were a decent amount of kids in there. And most of the stuff for them to do, is up in netted portion in the air. There were so many kids running around up there, I found it hard to keep track of Reid. Thankfully, there is only one entry/exit for the play area. But, I still found it a little nerve-wrecking. Yes, I am a nervous-nellie-helicopter-mom a lot of the time.

Then, I had the oh-so-enjoyable task of trying to coax my 4 year old out of there. While the play area is very nice for parents to take a nice, cool, shaded break, it is also a pain in the bahonkey when your child doesn’t want to leave and won’t come down. But, I did get Reid to finally come rejoin me once I started my count to “3”.

Then, we were on our way to ride Dumbo, which was practically a walk-on.

After our spin on Dumbo, we headed to our next ride:

Now, let me share a little tale about this ride with you. We first took Reid to Disney in Dec. 2010. He was 2 years old. It was just a short trip because we didn’t know how he would do. Of course, we spent most of our time in Magic Kingdom. On our first day, we were just so excited to be there with our baby boy. He wanted to ride the train first and we willingly obliged, getting off by Mickey’s house. After touring the area, we thought it would be fun to ride Barnstormer. What were we thinking putting him on that first?!? The poor child had never been on any kind of ride. Needless to say, he cried the whole time and wouldn’t ride it again. Then, last year, it was closed since they were building Storybook Circus so we couldn’t see how he liked it.

So, what did he think of it now at the grown age of 4? He loved it! He was laughing and smiling the whole time. We got off and decided to ride one more time since the wait was only about 10 minutes.

I have to say that I really love the theming of Storybook Circus. Yes, I was sad to see Mickey & Minnie’s houses go away. But, they really did a fantastic job in this area.

We left Storybook Circus and headed towards the racecars. When we got there, they only had one line of cars going. Ed agreed to wait with Reid since he really wanted to ride. While they got in line, I headed off to get FP’s for Buzz and then headed back to the Speedway.

After the racecars, we all really wanted lunch. But, I knew we had just a few minutes until our FP window opened up for Buzz and I didn’t want us to miss it. So, we did the Buzz ride and then headed to Cosmic Ray’s for lunch.

Lunch was good as usual. Reid had his normal choice: nuggets and fries. Ed went with the roasted chicken, potatoes and green beans. He liked all of it except for the green beans. And I went with the pulled pork sandwich and fries. I must say that I really enjoyed the sandwich.

With our bellies full, we headed over to the Peoplemover to take a little bit longer rest. Then, it was time for our 2nd set of Buzz FP’s. Once we were done there, I decided to try something new for Reid: the Carousel of Progress.

He really enjoyed it and, of course, he loved the song. He caught on quickly and was soon singing along with me!

After that oldie but goodie, we did a potty break. And then the rain started. I decided to take Reid back through the standby line for Buzz since it was short. When we got off, he wanted to go again. I let Ed have a turn while I rested and waited for them.

By 3 pm, we were heading out of Tomorrowland going towards the hub. We stopped on the bridge for some Photopass pics:

We made our way through the hub and continued on to Adventureland. We grabbed FP’s for Jungle Cruise and then continued on to here:

We ended up riding PotC two times since it was a walk-on. Then we headed back to the Jungle Cruise to use our FP’s.

While we on the boat, it started to rain again - pretty hard this time. It took us a while to get back to the dock but thankfully we really had a great skipper. He kept trying to come up with new jokes and things to talk about while we were waiting to get back. At one point, he just started asking everyone where they were from. When he asked us, Reid started to answer. I never know what my child is going to say but he actually answered with the correct state.

By the time we got off the ride, the rain had slowed to a drizzle. We decided to grab some popcorn and drinks from a nearby cart and headed back to one of the covered benches at PotC. While we were munching on our snack, I noticed a CM had done some water paintings in the area:

I was so excited to finally see these in person and was so excited to show Reid. My excitement did turn to frustration as people just started walking all over them and started messing them up. Really people! Don’t mess up the water art.

Anyway....the guys went and rode Pirates again while I ran over to BTMRR to grab some FPs. By the time I got back to PotC, the rain was much worse. We hung out on our bench for quite a while and visited the gift shop also. Once the rain finally let up some, we headed over to BTMRR for Reid’s first big boy roller coaster!!

And how did his first ride go?

Well, I think he was a little nervous at first. He was clutching the lap bar very tightly. And after the first couple of drops he looked at me and said, “My tummy feels funny.” Of course, the Mommy in me started to panic a bit that he was going to throw-up on the ride. But, within a minute, he put my fears at ease when he threw his arms in the air and yelled, “Oh yeah, baby!!” We laughed the whole rest of the ride.

When we got off, he was very excited!

We decided to grab another set of FP’s and then headed back into the standby line since it was only 5 minutes. After the ride, it wasn’t time for our FP’s so I decided to ask Reid if he wanted to try Haunted Mansion. He was reluctant until I told him I would buy him any souvenir he wanted if he would just try it.

Once we got to the Haunted Mansion, I decided not to go in the interactive line. As much as I really wanted to see it, I was afraid if we lollygagged that Reid would change his mind. So, we headed up the regular line and were the first ones at the door which was quickly opened for us. When we got in the entry room, he got a little nervous and asked me to hold him. So, I picked him up and we headed into the stretching room.

He was very unsure of this room until the paintings started to stretch. That’s where he saw the painting of the guy not wearing any pants, only his underpants. Well, Reid (much like Goofy) thinks underpants are hilarious. So, that made him relax and laugh. Then, we were quickly on to our Doombuggy.

I have to say that he did really well on the ride. He held on to my arm the whole time and occasionally kind of buried his head. But he never cried or screamed. Once we were off, he said he liked it. However, he would not ride it again this trip.

After braving the Haunted Mansion, we went to the gift shop at PotC but Reid didn’t find anything he wanted. So, we headed back to BTMRR to use our FPs’s.

When we got off the ride, it had started to rain again. Reid really wanted to try this:

But, it was getting close to dinner time and I was really sick of water by this point. So, instead we headed back to PotC to get our stroller from the covered area and we headed to Pecos Bills.

Reid and I grabbed a table while Ed got our food.

After what seemed like forever, Ed arrived with our food and began taking the food off the tray. Reid kept trying to reach over all the food to grab fries off of his plate and wasn’t listening to Ed telling him to stop and just sit and let us get the food situated. Well, Reid ended up knocking my salad to the ground.

He was really upset and I told him I wasn’t mad but that was why his Daddy kept telling him to stop and he should have listened.

I left the guys and went back in line. I asked the guy if I could just buy a salad, not the whole combo, since my son had knocked mine accidentally to the ground. The guy refused to let me pay for the salad and just sent me straight to the counter. A manager came up and when I told him about it, he got me another salad and apologized for what had happened. It’s the little things like this that make me really love Disney.

My salad ended up being really good and fresh with lots of chicken. Ed had the BBQ platter which I think may be one of the newer offerings there. He liked all of it except for the steak.

When we were done eating, the rain was coming down hard. We got Reid into his stroller under the cover and quickly made our way to the Emporium on Main Street.

Here, Reid finally found a “bravery” souvenir: some more race cars and the coordinating race track. With purchases made, we made our way out of the park at 8:15 pm. We made it to our car and were back at OKW by 9 pm.

Wow! You were busy making up for lost time last night/this morning. :rotfl2:

First of all I don't know if I missed it in the morning update, or if it just wasn't in any pictures (and I'm too lazy to go back to look), but I love Ed's shirt. :rotfl2::lmao:

We went in and even though there wasn’t a wait, Reid wanted to play in the tent. I didn’t take any picture because, quite honestly, my anxiety was a bit high.
We didn't get any pictures of that either, but we just kind of ignored that room's existence and kept DS moving since we only rode when the line was short. We didn't want to have to deal with corralling him to move on. :lmao:

So, what did he think of it now at the grown age of 4? He loved it! He was laughing and smiling the whole time. We got off and decided to ride one more time since the wait was only about 10 minutes.
That's great!!! I'm glad he enjoyed it!:thumbsup2

I have to say that I really love the theming of Storybook Circus. Yes, I was sad to see Mickey & Minnie’s houses go away. But, they really did a fantastic job in this area.
They really did. I was impressed.

But, within a minute, he put my fears at ease when he threw his arms in the air and yelled, “Oh yeah, baby!!” We laughed the whole rest of the ride.

When we got off, he was very excited!
Awesome!!!! BTMRR was my first roller coaster when I was little so it always makes me happy when I ride it. I'm glad that he enjoyed his first ride on it too!

He was reluctant until I told him I would buy him any souvenir he wanted if he would just try it.
Any souvenir???? :scared1: In Disney World????? I hope you have a high limit on your credit card. :lmao:

Well, Reid (much like Goofy) thinks underpants are hilarious.
He's a boy... Underpants make me laugh too. :rotfl::rotfl2::lmao:

It’s the little things like this that make me really love Disney.
They really are very good about things like this. And that's why we keep going back.

I want to first answer your question to my question before I forget. . .I'm staying at a Universal Partner resort for just one night. It's a family tradition to stay offsite either the first or last night, to squeeze as much Disney into a trip as possible. This year, I'm staying at the Wingate by Wyndham right near Universal. I think it's like a mile away. I booked a package with Universal because I really want to see the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. It's going to be crazy busy because that day is President's day.

Whenever I start feeling like Disney is not as customer friendly as they used to be, I hear a story like yours about the salad and I get that faith back in Disney. I'm proud of Reid for riding all of those "big boy" rides! It took us years to get my son on those and now all the sudden he likes them. Now my youngest? She's a little thrill ride junkie!

Y'all really did great for such a rainy afternoon. Loved the water art, I had never heard of that and actually want it to rain now so I can maybe witness some of it. LOL

I'm so impressed with how patiently you handled the the salad debacle. Great mommy moment, and Disney IS magical in just replacing it for you :)

I dont want to accept this was your last day. :worried:
