Just wanted to take a moment to let you know we will miss you. I will too. As I have said to you at times in the past, Cathy, and in email last night, we both have had our differences, and words, (LOL
) over the years, but also many common likes and enjoyments over the years.
I first 'met' you, back in early '99, I am sure, on the old, combined Resorts and Restaurants Board, either being welcomed to the DIS by you, or maybe answering a question about the Poly, our resort for our upcoming family trip then. I know I asked a lot.
And got many answers and ideas from you and so many others as I learned Disney and WDW.
When the DU idea started, I switched my ressie over to them and was in the first 'pilot 25, soft opening' group of ressies. And from what you told me, the first DU client to actaully take a WDW trip through DU. I also recall when we arrived at the Poly for our magical trip, there was a BEAUTIFUL floral and goodie arrangement on the table, from you. You said this was for being the first and I recall you saying not to talk about that on the boards in my trip reports, LOL, as that was not standard DU treatment, but from you for our being the first client. (And, I do think this is the first time I have mentioned that publically, I think I can now
) And my family and I did get to meet you and the kids at Disney Quest during that trip, at a DIS meet, my first one. That was cool!
Some time after our return home, I got a moderator hat somewhere along the line. Over the slightly more that two years I wore that hat, we accomplished much, but as said above, and known by most here, we did have our differences of opinion, our words, and so on. I think for mostly one reason, our love for the DIS, but sometimes just looking at it through a different window at times. We often, more often than not, did not have words, but a respectful relationship, trying to improve the 'product', the DIS. As some point, I found it in my best interests, personally, to step out and take off the moderator hat, and just wear the 'plain old' DIS'er hat, and have liked it since. From that time on too, we did have our 'words', but seemed to always, always maintain our respect of each other, certainly behind the scenes in emails, even if at times we both were in a 'huff', with arms folded, on the boards.
And now this.
Cathy, I for one, and I know among many, will miss ya. I do hope our paths cross again, whether at WDW, DL, or anywhere. My very best to you, Jim, Meg (what a nice young lady she has grown into) and Patrick. (for some reason, he can still make me tear up when he does his signng. And a neat guy and young man he is too.
) Take care, and remember, Cathy, 'it all started with a mouse' and the Mouse is still there.
Dan
PS: And though I never really had many dealings nor interaction with Michelle, her being a cruise board moderator and I not a 'cruiser', I have had the pleasure of meeting Michelle several times, WDW and DL both. And I will likewise miss you, Michelle. My best to you too.

Through all of the years we played together in cyberspace, and - even after I went my own way into the world of webmastery - you have stayed a person I enjoy and admire.
. I don't care what the circumstances were but geesh there are some others around here that could use a dose of this reality.
