Well its over thank goodness

We just closed on my mom's old house. So now everything is officially over for our move. It was very sad since I was born in that house and grew up there. Worked with my dad there for 5 years. It was the right thing to do...the house is not in the best of neighborhoods and needs a lot of work. But its still sad.

Ive never been particularly attatched to any home but Im sure its sad to say goodbye.


But at least it opens doors for a new adventure right?

I know exactly how you feel Beauty. My parents moved out of my childhood home about 5 years ago. It was sad at first.
Every now and then I drive by it and it amazes me how run-down it has become. That is even sadder. My dad really takes care of his property. Some people just aren't like that.

Better to have a place like that than to uproot yourself every 3-4 years. Military brats never really had a place to call home.

Yep I 'm afraid thats going to happen. As I said the part of town isn't the best anymore and it seems to get worse year after year. The lady that bought the house is a single mother with a new born baby and 2 12 year old twins. She is a very well dressed and nice lady though so I am hoping she will take care of it.

It killed me to see my mom crying. This was the house her and dad bought right after they were married in 1965 and they lived there their entire married life. I told her we are now opening a new chapter or our life....her with us and of course her living with her grandson. We will never ever completly close that chapter but it is time to move on.

Oh, I can relate. My mom just sold her house... the house we grew up in. I have friends in that neighborhood yet, so we went Trick Or Treating there Sunday. We went to our "old" house. The new people are very nice.

It's a loooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnggggggggg story on why we sold it, but to make a long story short, my lazy brother WAS living there. Now he's not. End of story. (Note the word "lazy")

So, it's very bittersweet, and I know how you feel. Time marches on...........
