Well its been an interesting few weeks!

I know I havent visited much lately and havent been a very supportive member of the "group" and I apologize. Seems I do this every so often. I just get sidetracked by life and other entertainment like facebook etc......

BUT anyway I digress.... On May 30th I was fired from my job as ambulance manager. 36 years since I turned 16 and I was NEVER unemployed until now. So I went through all the emotions that went along with that. The 17th of June we flew to Fairbanks Alaska to start our vacation. 5 days on land and a 7 day cruise! It was spectactular. I will post pics soon I promise. Got home from Alaska and 3 days later we had to cancel our October trip to WDW. Unfortunately the orthopedic surgeon gave me the long face and said it was time. So on Aug 8th I will be having the first knee replaced. This will certainly end my 30 year career as a paramedic. Looks like I will be spending a lot of time at home. I wont be able to scrapbook at first but after a couple weeks I should be able to do some I hope!

I hope you all let me keep hanging out here I really do enjoy you all But if you kick me to the curb I understand too. But I will try to do beeter HONEST......

You may be back to scrapbooking faster than you think. My daughter got me started with scrapbooking because I was having surgery and wouldn't be able to do much else for a couple months.

First, I am so sorry to hear that your job was lost... I for one believe they made a very bad decision.... there loss is our gain because it means you will have more time to spend with us!!!
Second, I'm so glad to hear your trip to Alaska went well.. I can't wait to see photos!!
Third, so sorry to hear that the surgeon says you can't wait any longer..but at least you will have time to heal and scrap when you are up to it..
At least when you DW is busy you will have us to chit-chat with!!

So sorry to hear abt the job, been there done that 4 years ago and iven though I was forcing them to fire me I remember the emotions well.

I'm sure the knee will go just fine and you'll be up and moving in no time. My dad had both knees done 3 yrs ago and doesn't regret it at all. He was given abunch of exercises before hand to do after well he started them before and the Drs were very happy with his bounce back, (some of you may remember that summer cause we almost lost him. 3 weeks before the knee surgery they did a colonoscopy and nicked the transverse colon) even with not being able to moe from all the other mess his knees were GREAT.

I come and go and life is always in the way, but I'm glad your back. I too can't wait to see the pics.

Kick you to the curb????? Never..... I am sorry to hear they made such a poor choice, truly their loss!
Much success with your knee replacement. My friends who have been this route said that it was the best choice for them too.

Sorry to hear about the job, it's totally their loss.
But as the old saying goes...One door closes and another one opens. Maybe it was a blessing in disguise especially with the knee issue.
