Well I'm back again

I've been avoiding these boards like the plague because after our trip last July I thought it would be our last trip until my oldest daughter graduates (that's what she wants for a grad present). I just couldn't face these boards knowing how long it would be until another trip. It would just be too painful.

Surprise! Surprise! The girls, my sister, and I are going over MLK weekend for a youth religious conference! (a big shout-out to hubby for paying for us to go ) It'll be a fun, all-girls trip for once.

We'll be staying at the Coronado Springs. We've never stayed there, as the FQ is our home, but CS is where the conference is being held.

I am mobility impaired. Just enough to hurt badly when I walk or stand in one place, but not bad enough for a motorized chair. I also smoke, so would like to be close to a DSA. Where would you suggest we request for a room?

We also plan to purchase refillable cups, so want to be close to the refill station.

OMG! I feel like a little kid again! A surprise trip to Disney!

Almost forgot, it will also be my sister's birthday the second day we're there, so I have to start working on shirts for the 4 of us

Any tips or suggestions you can provide for the hotel will be greatly appreciated

Well, I don't have any advise for you but I just wanted to say for you all to be going back again. It does make you feel like a kid again, doesn't it?'

Oh I do have something. Be sure to mention to the CM that is checking you in that it's your sisters B-Day. They will give her a B-Day pin so she can wear it for the whole trip. Not that it's much but I think it's cool. Happy Planning and have a wonderful trip.

Oh I knew I had another question. Is it warm enough to swim in January? Do they heat the pools?

January has its cool days and warm days but all Disney pools are heated year round to 82 degrees! Have a great time!

I assume you will have a car, I have stayed at the CS, I was in Bldg 4, wished i had requested to be in room right by the parking lot, as even difficult, i could have walked right into a room, but instead had a scooter and was in water view, to far to walk, so like 6 times a day, had my DD taking apart and putting scooter together, it was a hassle , and I felt so bad, so do you have a car, and going to parks will you be using your own transportation or buses?

Congratulations on being able to go back (I'm doing a girls trip in January myself).

The old thread has all of the pictures. I had someone new take over the thread because I just didn't have hte time to devote to it as I had in the past, and I've not been able to insert all the pictures for her yet.

Can you pay for a preferred room? This will put you close to the main building (food, shop, registration), etc.? However, that will put you much farther from the main pool. We love Cabanas 8A for being close to the pool, a short walk over the bridge to the main building and not far from a bus stop. I will admit we don't use the buses much as we rent a car and definitely prefer driving.

There are lots of helpful people on the CSR thread...many who have stayed numerous times (I've stayed nine myself) and those who have stayed only once and loved it enough to go back. You will also see a review here and there of people who didn't like it because of the size, etc. (as you will with every Disney resort). Be prepared...there is a big size difference between the two.
