Well, I gave in and tried it, but I don't like sushi.

My friends have been trying to get me to eat sushi forever. If we go out to eat before we go out, I always say I'll meet them at the bar if they are going to have sushi. Finally, last night, I gave in since I don't want to be somebody who won't try new things.

Ugh. It tasted horrible. I ended up going to get a hot dog at 3 in the morning before I went home.

I think I'll go back to meeting them after their sushi dinner.

;)

**side note, I didn't try the stuff just made out of vegetables, maybe that would be better for a beginner like me.

Hey, at least you tried it :D a lot of people won't even do that. Personally, I like sushi :D

Its an acquired taste. Guess the Tuna roll wasnt very good

You made it much further than I would have. I just don't think I could ever eat it.

John and I tried it at California Grill and it was okay....not something I really want to eat again but if it was free I would try it again....Now the green stuff...wasabi I think...YUM! I loved it!

Tried it once, 20 plus years ago, never again. I like fish, but cooked please.

Mostly it is an acquired taste.

There is a little psychological issue with eating raw fish.

I love it!!

Kudos for at least giving it a try....

Congrats for trying... I have tried it myself... and will never forget that taste....needless to say, it was a once in a lifetime thing.. My daughters love it...

The only two things I tried to acquire a taste for were Scotch and cigarettes, both in my teens. Thankfully I was never successful with the Scotch, and I was able to kick the smokes. Now, if I don't like it first go around, I don't try again. :teeth:

And yes, sushi is much different than those two, but still......LOL. ;)

Mmm! I tried Sushi for the first time during Dis Con at Kimono's and loved it!! :) Actually the waitress told me all about it first, because I had asked and was curious...she should have received a commission on that because I fell in love with it! LOL...I will definitely be having it again when I go back!! :)

Hey TVT I love sushi, you may call me a master bait eater. Congrats for being brave enough to try the stuff.

I'm glad you tried it! It's definetly not for everyone. I prefer the california rolls with veggies inside over the fish, but my absolute favorite are the spicy shrimp rolls from A&P--sushi with shrimp or crab are cooked and they're very good. I'll eat the raw stuff only if I douse it in soy sauce.

I tried the sushi at Kimonos, with KarenNY and Lorax2000. It wasn't bad. I actually thought it was pretty tasteless. Love that green stuff though ;)

I didn't hate it but I didn't love it.

I LOVE sushi and I'm glad you tried it. Maybe one day you'll give it another try. To start out with the veggie things are better, the California rolls are good. Also I love the shrimp and crab sushi. They are cooked so you don't have to worry. Another thing that is my favorite is the egg sushi. It's a cooked egg omlette with sugar added. It tates like custard when it is done right!

well, speaking from someone who has tried the vegetable stuff - it isn't much better - sorry - fish is yucko period

I love California Rolls and the other types without fish. I've tried some of the others once or twice, but I'd rather stick with the non-fish types. I love the ginger, though.
