Today, I was carrying in some boxes from the garage. I felt something on my back under my shirt. I started fanning my shirt in hope that it would fall out. I felt it running across my back before it fell to the floor. It was a 4 inch long Palmetto Bug! Yuck! I figured I'd see one pretty soon. I didn't realize it would be on me!

uhm a fancy word for roach!!!!!!! You werent traumatized!!???!! OMG I cant even stand to see one near me, but to actually be on me????? O my!!!!!!!!!

Oh Geez, Id freak...I think I would still be in the shower trying to get the heebie-jeebies off!!!:earseek:

:earseek: The first time I ever saw one was in the laundry room at the Howard Johnson Maingate East on Rt. 192 in Kissimmee. I nearly passed out.

But I'm still moving to Florida after DD is on her own.;)

Aw, that's a baby one!

They're a LOT bigger here in South Carolina, where our state bird is the mosquito!

I thought the mosquito was the state bird of Louisiana?

;)

I would have had nightmares for the rest of my life! EWWWW! The pictures didn't help either!

There was a big one where I work about a month ago, heading fast down the hallway. I almost stepped on it. Of course I screamed and ran for the "spray" while a co-worker (also not from the south) yelled "kill it! Kill it! Spray more, STEP ON IT!" No WAY was I going to step on it! The more I sprayed, the more it moved. EWWWWW! Finally it died and I had to get paper towels and clean the whole mess up! YUK!!!!!!

I immediately called my boss and told her I would not return to a bug infested environment. The exterminators were there the next day.

I'll NEVER, EVER get used to those disgusting bugs! I can't believe you lived to talk about having one ON you!

We have been fighting them all spring... i actualyl posted for advice awhile back, and sure enough, y'all were right - they are palmettos. HUGE, ugly, and QUICK little suckers.

DH had one crawl across his head about a month ago in bed. I haven't slept well since.

That is HORRIBLE Aimeedyan, I would never be able to sleep again!!! I've always had this mad childhood fear that an insect would crawl in my ear in the night and make a nest!!! Now I know it could be a possibility.

I'm going to stuff cotton wool in me ears tonight:faint:

Wheezie

Get a cat! Serious, my cat catches them all the time. And I have one of those cats that sleep all day and is awake at night. So I sleep better knowing that he is out bug watching. We have palm trees on the side of our apartment and right out the front door so we are stuck with them. But the cat helps.
