btw...where has she been today?

dinner's almost ready...gotta run...

Tara, I do think sleeping instead of working is a great idea! Whatcha makiing us for supper?

Todd, Luis just started taking up golf. Maybe you two should get together sometime and you can give him some tips :p I'm sure you'll like the movie whenever you get a chance to see it. If we hadn't wound up going last night, I doubt we would've made it this weekend. It's just crazy out there with that movie!

Okay, am I a dense one here... how do you two know each other Cindy?

Luis and I went for a walk. Found a couple cute shirts for me. I have to try one on here to see if I can find the rightthing to wear with it as a cover up on the shoulders. We'll see :)

psst...Elaine...they are sisters!! :teeth: I remember Kimmar posting a thread introducing her sister to the Dis. I'm sure if you search Kimmar's posts you can find it.

I made the kids fish sticks and mom made us chicken fried steaks, mashed taters, and fresh from my garden cucumbers in vinegar!! woohoo!!! I've had 4 cucumbers from my garden already!!

Okay, off to search for a recipe for wall paper remover. I think that will help get the paper backing off the floor from the linoleum. back tomorrow!!

hugs to all.
tara

Wait!!! Cindy - you are Kimmar's sister and you haven't posted a single photo on this thread???? :faint:

;)

Elaine, I liked The Devil Wears Prada. It wasn't exactly like the book - but it was still very good. Loved the clothes! :teeth: Meryl Streep was awesome, Anne Hathaway was also good. Stanley Tucci was funny, as always.

Oh - and how do you go for a walk and end up with a couple of shirts?? Be glad that you didn't stumble onto Shep's underwear on that walk!!

Shep - his Mom ironed his underwear??!! :rotfl2: My kids are lucky that I even wash theirs. :rotfl:

Paula - no car for DD today. She is alternating between :guilty: and :furious: That girl is 100% my daughter!! :teeth: The dealer swears it will be ready on Monday.

Did you enjoy your quiet afternoon/evening? Any update on your computer situation?

Tara - DH's garden is starting to flourish as well. He makes his own pickles - even won a blue ribbon at the fair!

I'm really tired so this will be quick

Thanks Tara, I just didn't make that connection... not always the brightest bulb here :p

And I'll take the chicken and the taters please ::yes::

Pam, we live about a block or two from a mall... pretty easy to go shopping when you go for a walk :p

I'd be PO'd too by now. Has she found any other VW Bugs around for sale that she could buy? I know 1998 was the first year they made them so a few of those are "buggier" than the next years' models. I just hope she gets one soon and if at that dealer, he better give her a really good deal now!!!

Thanks for the movie review, truthfully I didn't like the book that much. Stupid story why I read it though. We'll see if I am up for it on Monday before the hair or not ;)

good night y'all :wave2:

Elaine,
That's the problem - Bugs are in demand right now. And she can't afford a new one. This one has only 66,000 miles on it. It had a good price on it and we got even more knocked off - then we took DH back and he noticed that the back tires were bad, the serpentine belt needed replaced, as well as front brakes and rotors.

The dealer is doing all of that - plus when they checked the car over they realized it needed a new water pump and that took a couple of days to order and arrive. I honestly think the dealer is regretting cutting the price down for us and then agreeing to fix everything, too. I think he's dragging his feet, hoping we will get disgusted so he can sell the car to someone else at a higher price. Thankfully she put a deposit on the car and has all the prices written down from the dealer.

It would be so nice to live a couple of blocks from a mall! :faint:

Cindy! You sneated on me!! :teeth:

Good morning everyone :) I am a total Solitare junkie, so as soon as I loaded it on the PDA, I seem to play it a ton :teeth:

Pam, I totally understand about the Bugs then. They are all over here (for better or worse) and not all that hard to find. I am glad she got a good deal on hers then. They probably are dragging their bums because of all they are fixing.
Because I am curious, how much will she be paying for it?

Tara, whatcha doing for your mom's birthday? I hope she had a very happy birthday :bday: :cake:

Ooooh donuts... I would eat them, but I really shouldn't do that ;)

Rose Mary, I do hope you have a good time this weekend :) How I wish clothing and money grew on trees :p

Not sure what we are up to today. I don't have anything I really have planned.

Drive up to NE Ohio to see my vacation photos?
(You said you didn't have any plans)

good morning,

As for mom's birthday...my brother and his wife are taking all of us to dinner at a wonderful Japanese steak house! yummy!! I'm letting her sleep in today and trying to keep the boys away from her.

I need to run out some time today and buy a new paint scraper. I've been reading online how to get rid of this junk on my floor and I'm having a hard time. I started a thread about it and I'm afraid that it is going to cost me too much money to do it the way they are suggesting :( someone did give me some links to other places and I read that it can be done, so i just need to dig in and hope I don't get too many blisters.

gonna go sit on the couch for a bit and let my back straigten out....all the bending over the floor and my back feels like it must be a hundred years old!!

Elaine...if driving to NE Ohio doesn't suit you, then come to VB and help me scrap up flooring :teeth:

back later,
tara
