Hi all...

Thanks for the kind words about the job situation. Todays update is that I was asked to move the meeting date to ensure that everyone would attend. I am refusing - the date is set - those unable to attend (well make that 2 out f 3) have prior commitments - the rest of the staff has already made child care arrangements in order to attend. They (the office) don't seem to want to realize that 9-5 is our personal time just like after 5pm is their personal time. I think I just want to get it over with.
Thanks for the offer Beth (Ms Acting Manager ma'am.) - about that commute.....I think not having a car may make that tricky.....unless you are sending a shuttle?? I will say that I spent many happy years in retail - not sure how willing I am go get yet another job that would involve nights and weekends....

It's been pouring here for 2 days - house is clean - guess it's just a "hang out day". I have 2 movies from Netflix...Doogal and New World.

Hi y'all... getting ready to go. And in a short while I will be going for Bo Bice tickets.

Tara, next time I'll bring the wine. I can't do any real other alcohol (save rum). If it is made with grain, I can't digest it well. I do get headaches from red wine, but do okay with white now. Though a white merlot I can handle.

Lily, I hope that something will improve a little more with the whole medical stuff. What a pain not to have that totally taken care of!

LOL, Suzanne, I think the new smilies are just a cover up. Though it has been a wee bit better in general for me. Not fast, but at least I get through more!

Bethie, congrats on the temp position! I know you will do great! Glad you like the door. I can hardly wait to get it. I really liked the look of those... should add a whole new personality to our house
I'm smiling with the Penzey's. I blame my brother, so any of you can blame me for anything beyond that I agree, I will never go back to McCormick again. Though I know I keep their seasoned salt around... if we are doing big cook outs, Luis prefers to use it than Penzey's. He hates "wasting good stuff" so he says

Paula, good for you for sticking to your guns with the meeting. Sounds like they are being weird about it though... trying to be tough and then giving in to let everyone attend. I'll be interested to see what happens.

Beth...glad the visit went well. At least the hours can be used better now!! I was at the exotic animal remark!! That is so true!!

Well, I have touched up paint this morning and have pulled all the tape down from the ceiling. So no more blue trim

I think for the baseboards instead of mitring the corners I think we are going to use the corner rosettes and do straight boards along the baseboard. This will not only save time but will save my sanitity. I can cut straight lines so that will be easier. i'm hoping to get that done the last weekend of june!!

The peanut butter sandwich I ended up eating sounded alot better than it tasted...oh well....

I had a rough half hour this morning. I thought the two hours I spent creating my email spreadsheet was lost-since outlook took that long to send me my email from the main store email. Ugh. I figured I needed to walk away from it and looked one last time-there was the email.

Nancy, is the Hershey's cake the one that uses mayo? If so, then I'm on that one-it is so moist!

Bethie, I hit scraptopia today and employee suggested trying automotive cling places. Other than that, I may see if Staples does the work. thanks for the info on the acryllic-I may do that and hold it up with a blank cling. Yay for more payroll-I've been in those shoes, sistah!

Evening y'all! Back from my cousins. Went to Cracker Barrel for supper and then Graeter's for dessert! Yummm... for some reason, the chicken and dumplin's sounded so good... fortunately I was right! Or actually Luis was... he picked for me

Anywho, uploading pictures of James. He is such a cutie and was even totally adorable as a newborn!

Yum... chocolate cake! Actually so far, the cake my family loves best is a "wacky" cake I've made. I keep saying I am going to make it into a yellow cake to see how it comes out.

This cracked me up!!! I think I just might add that to my resume!!

Well, I started out measuring for the baseboards and ended up pulling up the vinyl on the floor and we deicded to go with the wood looking laminate. I had no intentions of starting the floor but it happened accidently and I couldn't stop myself. I'm about to lay the first few pieces to see how it looks. I should have a great man resume after this....I don't cook, clean, or do windows...but I do paint, lay floors, and put in moulding!!

Elaine...what a cutie! makes me want another one...then when they turn two I would have to give them the local thrift store and see if they could sell them!! I will look it up in your profile and put it in my address book. I don't log on often but when I do I'm often disappointed that no one is there...but then again when you only have 3 people in your address book and they all have lives it does make for slim pickings!!

Lily...good luck with the retirement folks! How was Panera?

Groan......is it morning already?!! Not a very restful weekend here. I worked the crop on Friday nite, so didn't get home till 1:09AM. Couldn't get to sleep cuz Dave was snorin' in my ear Then had to work at 10:30 AM the next morning. Got some good down time yesterday afternoon and evening, although I spent most of it doing laundry. Got to bed at a decent hour too, knowing we had to get up early this morning cuz it's Choir Sunday and we have to be at church extra early. So, the phone wakes us up at 12:35 AM, this morning. Seems the girls are having trouble locking up after the Saturday night crop and the alarm keeps going off. The manager who closed last night is a new one, she is using our former SM's code to set the alarm because security hasn't called with HER code yet. She describes the problem to me, it's something I've never had a problem with and I advise her to call security, maybe they can help. So she calls them and they won't give her any information because she doesn't have a code of her own. Yet, SHE has been the one who security has called twice this week for the daggone alarm going off around 7:30 AM!! Not gonna work for me to call security and try to relay their instructions to poor Donna from here. Dave won't let me go over there alone, so here we are at 1 AM scrambling into clothes and flying over to the store! She had finally managed to get the back door to reset on her own so all I ended up doing was setting the main alarm with my own code and locking the front door behind us. Sheesh!!!! so, now I'm groggy as heck, gotta go ring and sing and then work till 7. I am REALLY looking forward to having Tuesday off!!!

Unfortunately, the transporter has been down ever since our beloved Scotty (James Doohan) passed on. If we can ever get it fixed, we'll beam all the Ya Yas to WDW, so we can have a real meet!! Promise!!!

Oh and you should've heard us joking about the ages we would give away children. Really fussy newborns go to people you don't like much. At three they go to someone you really love. At about 12 they go to the person you really HATE, and then about 17 or so, they go back to someone you like... though they have to have $$$ for college

Bethie, so sorry about your lack of sleep this weekend. I do hope you get to enjoy Tuesday to the fullest!!!! I hope you don't get too worn out today.

My answer to those hurricane shows is to not watch tv! Seriously, I watch whatever Ed's got on or food network. They blather on about the same stuff every year, you get to know the drill really quick! The only thing I really want to do is add the 3M film onto my windows-but that's not happening this year.
