Just found out that Luis' aunt died of cancer. She had tumors in/around her spine and has been sufferent for quite some time. Luis' mom is on her way to Mayagüez, PR. She was one of the few family members of Luis' that I've actually been able meet. I believe the youngest is in HS currently too (probably just about the same age as I was when I lost my mom). So we've been hanging out quietly most of the evenining.

Lily, sadly it wasn't a troll... I wish, given the way the person is!!! I just had a simple question (what is the definition of a Christian since Catholics aren't Christians) and he couldn't answer

Yuck John, I've been there before... never makes for a fun trip! I had a big drunk guy next to me on a flight to Chicago... couldn't decide if it was him crowding me, the stench of the alcohol at 9 am or his head almost falling on me as he snored away...

TC..thanks for reminding me about my ressies for Thanksgiving week!! I forgot to call this am!

So here is how my food is looking (we have the dining package since we REALLY like to eat:

Saturday(Epcot day) dinner....LeCellier
Monday (not sure where to go) breakfast...Chef Mickey's
Tuesday (MK Day) Lunch...Cindy's Table
Tuesday (still MK) Dinner..Chef Mickey's

The sit down meals determine where we will spend the majority of our days. We still have 4 credits for sitdowns, so we will be able to do 4 more places...just can't decide which ones. The rest of our days will be counter service for lunch or breakfast since we will have the credits.

What night is everyone going to MVMCP??

Good morning, everyone! Happy Saturday!

I have nothing planned at all this weekend, and I am very excited about that. I've had such a busy summer, it's nice to have a couple days of nothingness. I'll probably do some stuff around the house, do some heavy duty reading (I'm reading the new Harry Potter book and Disneywar), and just loaf around Doesn't that sound devine?

Elaine, sorry to hear about Luis aunt. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

John, just because you were in St. Louis doesn't mean that you couldn't be in choots with Alan. Sorry you had a looooooong day at the airport. It's not fun being stuck in an airport.

Tara, you dining plans sound good. Did you consider Ohana (awesome food) or Whispering Canyon for one of your meals? Jarrod would probably get a kick out of Whispering Canyon.

Karen, hope that the weather passed you by quickly without any damage. I hope that Pong stays away from the phone for a while.

Morning All,

Not happy this morning. They are making dh go into work. Now I could see it if he worked for the electric company but not for the cable company. For pete sake there are over 422 thousand homes without electric. What in pete sake do they need cable for if they cant even power up their TV's?? Its putting dh at an unnecessary risk trying to drive in with all the traffic lights that are out and all the debis on the roadways. Dh tried to get to the store last night that is basically down the road from us and he said it was actually scary with all the power out and the people driving like maniacs. We are one of the few little pockets of people in our whole area with power. Its also not like we dont have things to do here to clean up from the storm. It rained most of yesterday so dh was not able to get rid of the shed thats laying upside down in our backyard.

Dh just called and he got to work okay. Whew. He said there is absolutely NO ONE in the office and the computers are completely down. He is going to call his boss and see if he really really has to be there since he cant really do anything at all.

Karen congrats on the loaf days. Arent they nice! I am so happy that you get some downtime. Enjoy it to the fullest sweetie.

We are doing well here with the weather now. It rained most of yesterday so we werent able to do any clean up but today is beautiful. Hopefully dh will be able to come home to get stuff done around here. Thankfully though we got hit pretty hard windwise there really is not much damage in our area with trees and all. Other areas of the city and county were not so lucky. We were extremely lucky and extremely blessed during all of this. God has gotten many prayers of thanks from me and dh the last couple of days.

Thanks all for the nice thoughts. I admit having most of Luis' family in PR means I don't know them very well. I have met her, but that's about it. Luis is okay, a bit quiet but not bad. We do have a corporate party to go to tonight so we are just lazing around today.

Lily, I like the way you said the cream of the oreo... that's a cute thought!!!!

So Tara, did you call this morning and get all you wanted? As for MVMCP... I don't think we are going this year. I like going, but it is a lot of money... so, we'll skip on it and just enjoy extra hours in the evening some night (I know they are doing it in Oct, so hopefully they will in Dec). I just don't get enough out of the parade or shows to go.

JRKaren, enjoy the weekend of nothingness! I so love ones like that.

Karen, sorry that your DH has to go in... though I suppose if they have a lot of lines down, I'd imagine they'd want those repaired asap. Good luck cleaning up. Yuckiest part after a storm.

Elaine I was upset about dh having to go in but after talking with dh on the pbone it really was the best thing for him to do. It showed how much he values the company and his job. No one else from his department (the techs who are set up to do field work, dh is a supervisor) showed up and his boss is FUMMING. Dh says there is gonna be blood on the moon come Monday. He may still get to come home as he is not set up to go sit on generator anywhere as he has a supervisors vehicle and doesnt have the equipment or meters to do it. He is just waiting for his boss to make a decision. The only thing running at the office are the lights and air conditioning. They have generators but only enough power to run those things and not the computers. So basically dh is sitting there doing nothing. At least he is getting paid to do nothing and it looks good on his part LOL!

The kids and I have busied ourselves spit cleaning the living room. Looks really nice in here. Dh asked me what I wanted for my birthday tomorrow and I told him I wanted the kitchen and dining room spit cleaned. Thats all I want. I dont want them going out and spending money on me. That would make me happiest of all because I would not have to do it. That means more to me than anything they could buy for me.

JRKaren...I knew I forgot something...we always do "Ohana" I must add that one. I hadn't thought about whispering canyon but Jar would probably like that. Do you know if they have kid food (ie. chicken fingers)?

Elaine...I got all that I wanted. I actually called last night, TC is the one that reminded me and then I did it before I posted...sorry I wasn't very clear!! Or shall I say...clear as mud! Anyway, the only thing I had a definite time for was Thanksgiving Dinner!! As for MVMCP...I want Jarrod to see the "snow" and the shows. He and I might do it one night without grandma and baby. since it will be later at night. I just have to figure out which night it is happneing and when we wnat to do it!!

Finished working out today and now i'm ready to veg. SUpposed to rain all day, so I think it is a good day to stay and in and work on cross stitch!!!

WOOOOO HOOOOOO dh just called and he is on his way home! His boss told him to just fade away LOL. Dh did say that come Monday he expects every one of the techs that didnt come in will probably get written up and rightly so.

Tara Im glad you got your ressies for your meals. MVMCP is so neat. I am hoping that we can make it up there for the weekend you all are there. I wanna see my YaYa sistas and bothers that are there!

Busy weekend for me. Last night Sue tried to read email on "my" computer. She mentioned that it locked up on her. When I went to power on the PC, I heard a clicking sound. The dreaded click of death. One of my hard drives toasted itself. Fortunately for me, Best Buy has hard drives on sale this week and I picked up a new drive and plugged it into my Raid array. (Raid stands for redundant array of inexpensive disks - or something like that). Turns out that all my data is still present on the mirrored hard drive. So I dodged the bullet. This time. Sue's at work. The kids are out collecting money for the marching band. And I'm reconstructing my mirrored drive and moving Sue's email account to our newest (2 year old) Dell computer. Now I don't have to share my PC anymore.

Hi everyone! Luis and I ran some errands today. He needed a hair cut and I was sitting here thinking that my one dress is not going to hold me for the weekend... let alone dinner and wedding we have to go to later this year... so we went out and got me a new dress... on sale (of course, y'all know me!) so I got a $120 for $48 And we got me new shoes since a girl can never have enough pairs of black shoes

Nancy, nice to see you stop in, how is everythign at home?

Karen, at least the house will be getting cleaned. We were going to do some of that today, but maybe next week sometime. Sorry that your DH seemed to show up for "nothing" though.

Ah Tara, thanks... yep clear as mud for me. But then again I was a bit tired when I read it You give me hope though, we are trying for CRT on Monday for lunch (any day) 5 of us are calling and we have 6 days we are going to try for. We figure that we all will try for it and then we can pick our favorite of the times (if any) we can have. I am just worried I won't get my Cindy meal. Hopefully lunch will be easier to do.

As for the snow... I know we can see it at Osborne lights so I am not that disappointed. If I liked stage shows better, it would matter more to me about going. I do love the snow though

John, sorry about the hard drive... I've only lost one that way so far (knock on wood). I cringed for you when I heard about the dreaded clicking. I had a drive that did that and wouldn't boot, but fortunately I was able to get everything I wanted off of it by using a different drive as the main boot drive and the dying one as a secondary. Glad you didn't lose anything though.

I need to hop in the shower soon.. yucky rainy day... love it when they are like that for going out

At least dh's showing up for nothing got him brownie points. Im glad now that he did go in. He wont be one of the ones getting written up on Monday. I love the fact that dh and the kids are going to spit polish the kitchen and dining room for me. To me thats the best present they could give me. It means more to me than a store bought gift.

Well Rascal our ferret has decided that my BaB Opus is a threat to life and family and is currently up on the day bed bouncing around and pouncing on the poor defenseless BaB repeatedly ROFL!!!

JRKaren, how great to have a veg weekend. I have just started reading the HP book. I think I have 4 pages read. I was going to do more tonight, but headache right now so probably won't push it.

Sherry, I so suck at bowling. I love it, but I don't do well. No matter what I try it just doesn't seem to help...even with those bumpers in the gutters that they let the little kids use do not help me. Prayers for SIL and family. Hoping no news is good.

Tara, how fun that you have planned your WDW trip and such. I like hearing about those plans. We won't be there at that time this year.

We are going to to the Member's Cruise leaves next Sunday back in port Wednesday. Then it's the World til the 11th when we leave. No plans. I haven't had time to make any attempts to meet up with anyone.

Elaine, you are such a good shopper to be able to find a bargain like that.

Karen, you know I am with you about having the rooms cleaned for a nice prresent. I would love that my guys would do that. We do all work on them together, but it would be nice to be out of the loop for a change. Glad to hear that DH made the necessary appearance and it had a good outcome. PD for your safety and that of the others in that mad miss's way.

Susan, so I hope you managed to enjoy as much of the time off you were able to get and that your year this year is smooth sailing.

I spent the a.m. doing my 9 miles with my group, then started the loads of clothes and making of door magnets for the cruise. I made one, and Ted made one when he got home from work. His is better than mine, but that is because he is way better at doing craft things than me. I am challenged in oh so many ways.

My DSis is dropping by tomorrow so I am trying to do all the clothes washing and such that I can. Need to put stuff aside to pack in the suitcase. If we let it go too long something always comes up last minute in the week and makes it a mess to get everything done.
