Hello, all.

Cleopatra has small cell lung cancer-my sister got it out of her. Today's chemo was more draining on her, but I think this is the easy part.

Neil's med change is having an impact. He was given a reward at school for good behavior. His brother took it out at daycare (bad move). Kevin got tired of playing with said toy and asked to bring it back to Neil. The teacher on the playground had Kev leave it on a table, and another child promptly threw it over the fence. Spent twenty minutes out in the woods (wet, wearing flip flops) looking for said toy with no success. In the past, Neil would have been at Defcon 5. Today, it was enough for him to cry a little, but not too much.

After dinner, we're going to get a different reward. I felt it was worth it, since he handled it so much better than he has in the past.

Suzanne

Alan, that took me a while to get it... I must be slow today... best wishes tomorrow. I am sure you will do great :)

Suzanne, I am glad you finally know what she is up against. I hope the treatments will help her out. From what I remember with my mom, getting them weren't fun, but the after effects were harder. So I'll keep her in my thoughts!

That med change really does seem to be having a great impact on him! I am so glad to hear good news like that :)

I think I need ice cream... a wee bit hungry tonight :)

Hope all goes well....and smoothly for your mother, Suzanne

Yes, Elaine, Christmas shopping. I start early.....like January ;)
We got a few things done today. Mostly little things like stocking stuffers.
Christin got quite a bit done.....now she has to wait for more money.
We got some ideas too......well pursue them next time.
We went to Costco, Target and Toys "R US.

I still have cookies to do tonight and now I am not in the mood. Too tired.....but oh well.

Great picture.
I have a webmistress too ;)

Nancy - webmistress - hee,hee! :rotfl2:

I've started my Christmas shopping, too. Although the kids both want ski boots, etc. so I will have to take them along and let them pick the stuff out. DD's BF bought her the skis for her birthday, DS also needs skis.

Suzanne - :wizard: and prayers for your Mom, and you, too! :goodvibes

Tired puppy here, too. Making headway on the deadline stuff.
Mad love to one and all.

Okay, quick hi... kind of in pain (back) so I had better not stay long

Love that pic though Nancy :teeth:

Great, both Pam AND Nancy... I better get started!

See y'all in the morning!

hi gang!

Long day at work. My sup thinks I'm kidding when I say things about the person who will have my job next year! Boy I better find another reading position for next year or I'm up a creek!!

Suzanne, good luck to your mom. Lung cancer is a *****. My mom made my gma two buttons. One said "I'm having a good day" the other said "I'm having a bad day" That way people wouldn't ask her anything about how she felt. She refused to wear them, but they gave her a good laugh!

Wonderful how the meds are helping Neil. I think he deserves another reward too!!

Didn't make it to the gym this morning but I went this afternoon and I'm going to try and head over there tomorrow morning if I can get my lazy butt out of bed in the morning.

Only two more days until the mini yaya meet!! I'm so excited. Astrid can't leave school until after 430 so we probably won't be in until about 10 or so depending on traffic.

night night all!! hugs!
tara

Awww Tara, you'll be there quicker than that! I used to drive from Hagerstown to Virginia Beach in 4 1/2 hours!

I'm in a funk-gotta snap myself out of it. Just awful darn frustrating that my mom thinks we're not going to know and if she doesn't say anything, we won't figure it out.

I stole that phrase from Alan ;)

I'm so sorry about all your are....and will be going though, Suzanne. It is no fun....and parents can be as stubborn as kids.

Good morning, everyone!

Have a great day!

Good Rainy Thursday Morning, Ya Ya Sistahs and Bothers! :umbrella:

Everyone remember a jacket and don't forget your umbrellas!

Morning all.. haven't looked out a window yet, afraid to ;)

Tara, those buttons are pretty funny there! I am sure my mom would've laughed at them too! Wish I could join y'all at the meet... looks like due to Cleo we kind of scrapped going all together. Though we are *shudder* inviting his parents to visit for Christmas *shudder* ;)

Suzanne
I can't even begin to imagine how hard this is with her like that.

:wave2: Hi karen!

Pam, a bit shocked you didn't say rubbers instead of rain coats! Though I am a bit upset if it is raining (again all blinds are down) as I was hoping to run errands today.

Speaking of which... have a shower to go to on Saturday (wedding)... would you buy off the registry (I don't know if there is anything she really wants more than Jonathan) or get her something nice and pampering from somewhere else?

Good morning YaYas

Today I have the honor of driving Cam to science class for a test. Think I'll catch up on my reading while he's in doing his thing.

Elaine the rose pictures are beautiful!! Those should be framed. Very nice!

Suzanne, I'm so sorry you, sis and mom are going through this. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Have a wonderful time at the mini meet Tara and all attending YaYas.

Bleh. Not awake yet.

From what Geoff and M'Cori said, I would buy off the registry....and I will always do that now ;)

Yep...rainy here today too :( Or course, we go to see the mountain tomorrow......we'll try to see if.

I get to stay home today :bounce: I really need to get started on that costume or it will never get done.

Crap! I am getting old!
:guilty: I never even thought of that one! Or maybe it was because I hadn't cracked open my Pepsi at that point.... :confused3

I agree with Nancy - I have started buying over the gift registry for showers. Wish they would have had that concept around when I got married. I got stuck with 4,378 fancy candy dishes, crystal bells, and cheese boards. We would have probably registered at the local bait shop and hunting store! :rotfl2:

Alan--Good Luck in Birmingham... :wave2:

Suzanne-- :wave2: :grouphug:

Elaine-- :duck:I seen rubbers & raincoats and was wondering what you were talking about.. :confused3 :rotfl2: ..Then as I read further back, you meant for the rain.. :rolleyes1

Nancy--Christmas shopping? Guess the way it gets nearer the holidays the madder it gets...Good idea..Mmmm..Cookies...

Pam--Christmas shopping too? Gotta be a woman thing...We(men) usually wait til at least the week before to go.. :rolleyes1

Tara-- :wave2:

JRKaren-- :wave2:

Kim-- :cool1: Awake yet? :cool1:

Quick hi... been running errands and realized I forgot to get milk while I was out

Kimmie, ahve fun catching up on reading! And ty, I liked those roses. Luis once said I ought to frame or  even try to sell what I've taken. He can be sweet sometimes ;)

Thanks Nancy! Registry it is!!! I know with Dawn I did a mix of the two, but used her registry for Christmas gift buying ;)

Pam, it's okay... blame it on you being tired :p And  I think a bait shop/hunting shop would be a great place!

Hi there Todd :duck:
Y'all only wait until the last week? I thought it was the last day and then you'd hit a 24/7 store and hope you found something!

I'm off again... will pick up lunch while I am out :)

It's another one of those days.......I no sooner put the phone down and try to go back to working and it rings again. Dork boss was supposed to go to Canada today, but he came here first. Now his plane is delayed indefinitely, so he's not going. Guess that means he'll be back here shortly. On top of all that, our gov't customers are going crazy, trying to spend the $$ left in their budget before the end of the fiscal year, which is tomorrow. Sniffle!! I wanna go home!!!

:grouphug:

edited to add: Almost forgot--Tara, I'll be at the store till midnite tomorrow if you want to come over and see the place or drop off your crop bag(s) when you get in. Do you need any directions?

But you are ALMOST outta there!! ::yes:: :hyper: It won't be long.

Back to sewing.

Oh...an IPod mini has entered the house. I need to decide what to do with it. I think it will be someone's Christmas present....and so, one more off the list ;)

Bethie... one more day... just tell yourself that. And who cares, tell him off if you want. You wont' ahve to deal with him again ;)

Nancy, good luck with sewing! I needed you today! I dropped almost $60 at Penzey's today  So easy to do when you sniff and all! And yay for another present! That will make a good one ::yes::

Well I have some sad (but not unexpected news). My choir director's nephew just died last night. He had been fighting cancer (brain) since he was 6 months old. A miracle happened and he lived to see his 10th birthday. Still so sad and so young
frown.gif

I need to run... take a shower and some other things. See y'all later!

Good afternoon gang!
No need for rubbers here.....no dating or raining around here!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Those first couple of lines were written at noon. It is now 4 and I'm just getting back to it. So I think I'll post it and come back tonight to do more ketchup!
