Popping in to say good morning before we leave.

Lily....best wishes for your niece
Join us in the BaB outfit exchange.
Those ladies are a fun group. They have been ebay rescuing BaBs. I think between them they have "saved" about 15 babies :rotfl:
I'm waiting for Cookie Monster!! ::yes::

Beth...Happy LAST DAY!!n :bounce:
Have a fun scrap meet. Still wish I was coming.

JRKaren, hope the meds resolve your problem.
:bounce: For DL soon. Wish I could go there too.......but I will be in CA, just a bit farther north.

Elaine.....I refuse to ever turn the heat on until Oct. 1 ;)
Haven't needed to here yet. Cold in the mornings, but it hasn't been lasting too long.
I just put my slipper socks on and am good to go.

Okay....need to get someone out of bed and get going.
See you tomorrow evening or Sunday :wave2:

Hey All,

Sorry I have been MIA but I have been dealing with some family issues and spending time with the kids and dh. Nothing horrible.....some things just needed my attention and the kids did too. Just popping in to say HOWDY. Busy day planned and I better get to it.

HUGS TO ALL!! :grouphug:

Nancy, it was Sept 30 :p I hated turning it on but it was in the low 60s this morning in the house. Problem was yesterday didn't even break 60 and so the heating up never happened. I just opened some windows to let the high 60s temps come in ::yes::

Karen good luck at home!

Hi everyone - I'm back!!!! We had a most wonderful trip - so very relaxig a d full of fun and good laughs.
What a treat the Wilderness Lodge was - so very beautiful!!

Didn't take many pick but I'll have a few to post.

I'll try to ketchup and post more later......

Yay, Paula's back! :) And we didn't even have to use any bail money!! ;)

And I see that your DD is home for the weekend! Antoher Yay!! :)

Elaine - I have socks and a sweater on! :rotfl: But I am too tight to crank the heat on - plus, we have to make sure everything is away from the electric baseboard heaters.... I am cringing at the thoughts of how much it will cost to heat DD's apartment - gas heat, 4 girls - new windows haven't been installed but are supposed to be within 2 weeks. Plus they need some weatherstripping and insulating around the doors.

Nancy - A Cookie Monster would be great for you!

HAPPY LAST DAY OF WORK FOR BOY GENUIS, BETHIE!!

Bethie, have a grand last day at work for the moron. Woot woot.

Paula, welcome home.

Pam,

Nancy and Elaine, we haven't had to put on the heat yet here. It is chilly here today, though, so we may have to for my dad. I have to take the ac out of the window and move the furniture around in the living room so that the vent isn't covered by the couch first, though.

Alan, loved the Webmistress thing, as I am sometimes referred to as one of them people.

Yeah, I've heard some shocking stories about you!

And if y'all don't mind forgiving a cross-over post...

I had a fun day yesterday filming a piece for the Rosa Parks Museum in Montgomery. The producer was from Washington DC but they cast it locally.

This will be for a children's exhibit where kids will see a film with an actress portraying Rosa Parks taking them on a time machine to see different historical events including Underground Railroad, Dred Scott, and the section I was in:

The arrest of Homer Plessy on a New Orleans railway car.

Plessy was technically a black man in Lousiana law since he had black heritage, however he appeared white (and was for all practical purposes).

He was chosen to challenge the "separate but equal" laws separating blacks and whites on railway cars. He purchased a first class ticket and sat in the whites only section. Naturally, they had notified the railway in advance so they would be prepared, and I portrayed a detective who was there to arrrest him.

What do you think of my new look? ;)

The suits that the actor portraying Plessy and I are wearing are actual period suits from the late 1800's. The conductor is wearing a costume leased from Warner Bros

It was a very long day. Even though it was a short piece, there were over 30 takes for different camera angles, re-takes, etc but still a lot of fun.

Welcome home Paula!!! Glad you had a great time! Can't wait to see the pics :)

Pam, I never thought heat was too bad here... for about 1600 sq ft plus basement (800-900 there) it only costs us about $100 to heat us in the winter. Same for summer cooling. Gas isn't always too bad. HOpefully won't be for them.

But good luck with the moving of stuff to you Pam and you as well Karen. Fortunately here I just had to open the ducts downstairs for me to get it going. Ran it for less than an hour so the house temp would get to about 66 or so

Awww... look how cute Alan is ;)

Afternoon!

I'm home from work-love the early Fridays.

All is good for a trip to Epcot tonight-leaving after I catch up on all the online bills. Kansas plays tonight, and Ed is a very happy man. I'm hoping to score some Durban chicken and maybe a chocolate creme brulee. We didn't do IllumiNations last time, so that's probably a go for tonight.

I had the nicest guest today! She was telling us about her cruise a few weeks ago and I asked if she could get me a topper-and today she brought it to me! She refused to take any money for it-it was a real day brightener. I have the best guests (see how good a guest Bethie was-she brought me here!)

Work schedule has been coordinated. I'm off for round two and possibly all of round three (that goes into our vacation blackout dates). It made Mom very happy. I'm happy that my stepdad doesn't have to take her. She told him today he can't wait to do the hearing aids-he needs them NOW. (He finally admitted he can't hear about a month ago)

Have a good friday night!

Suzanne

Polar Express? Yay! Glad to hear that! :Pinkbounc

Elaine... enter them the next time opportunity arises. Ribbons and millions of dollars in your future I'm sure of it! :p

Nancy is going on a trip! Wooo! Yay! Have fun! Ya gone yet? Where'd ya go? Er... are going?

Lily, your neice is in my prayers!!

Karen, I hope the meds are helpful.

Hi Karen... I hope everyone is healthy and happy and all is well at home.

Paula is home! Welcome back!

Alan, excellent picture! All of you look great! What a wonderful thing to be a part of! :)

Yay for Beth's last day! How was the Chinese? Have a wonderful scrapping weekend Beth and Tara! :)

Rather dull sort of day today. Ho hum. Off to a PE class for Cam.

Have a good Friday everyone!

Oh gee Alan, you just quack me up

Suzanne, enjoy your evening at Epcot! I am jealous you get to go listen to all those people at those concerts if you want! And how sweet of her to give that to you! What a sweet guest!

Millions of dollars? I might do it for that :p

Kind of like you Kimmie, kind of dull today... at least I can relax and do nothing this weekend :)

hey gang..quick ketchup
I got the directions, good thoughts to Lily's neice, Karen hope the meds work, Karen hope things improve at home, nice outfit Alan, welcome back paula, Nancy enjoy the volcano, elaine I can't believe you all have to have heat!

Went and picked up more pics for the scraping. I hadn't done the christmas trip pictures yet. I got them. E is is 31.25 inches and 23# 15 oz. He is healthy as a horse. Got two shots and was only pissy for a bit!

I've already heard traffic is backed up to North Carolina!!! :rotfl: Hopefully we will arrive before midnight.....tomorrow night!!! i'm picking Astrid up at 615. Then gonna hit starbucks and then hit the road. I know beth isn't here to see it but maybe Dave will see it and let her know!

I'll be back sunday! Stay out of trouble and I've got elaine on speed dial if we need bail money!!!

hugs to all!
tara

No dice on Epcot. Kids are having so much fun playing with the gamecube that Ed didn't have the heart to take them out. He says he's 'meh' about going. That brings us to going somewhere during Oct 20-23 for him (Starship, blech) and Nov 5-7 for me (Rippingtons, to which Ed says blech).

Elaine, last year's food and wine resulted in us piling in the car on almost every one of my days off for a walk around Epcot and dinner in the cool evening air. Not sure this year will play out that often, but once a week, yep. I'm hoping one of my days off coincides with Ed's day off-now that we have daycare, it'd be nice for us to have a day over there and take in a seminar or two (or the Aussie wine walkabout) and head home around 4.

Tara, have fun! Scrap your little heart out!!! I've been instructed to go to a little place by me-afraid to go-they're supposed to have a Disney nook!

Check in later. Perhaps I need a run to the store for dinner fixings and a People mag. My honey was a little miffed last night that he didn't have any new bathroom reading :rotfl2: . That's the preferred junk food for the brain in this house!

Hi Ya Yas!
JRKaren, glad to hear of good news about Scotty. Hoping that the meds will work for you.

Karen, hoping you are doing well.

Elaine, we've got the young men here doing the annual furnace cleaning and checking sometime tomorrow. DH is going in the let them do it mode. He's taught them and they feel they can handle it. Discussions about the temperature for the season. I'm still thinking that it will be kind of warmer here during the day as Mom needs heat. I turn it down to 68 at night and open a window a bit sigh, I'm am not looking forward to this.

Paula, looking forward to hearing of your trip. Glad you are home safely and hope you had a great time!

Kimmie, hope you enjoyed your "dull" day.

Suzanne, sorry you didn't make it to the World tonight. I guess the consolation is that you can get there sometime since you are close. At least I hope so. Hope things go smoothly for your Mom, and that your Stepdad gets those ear aids soon. My Mom says they are really great to have as opposed to always missing the conversations.

Tara and Bethie, have a great weekend. Look forward to a good report and hope you all get many pages done.

Alan, I think there is some facial hairs that are missing from you no? I wouldn't recognize your pic as the only ones I have seen of you that I recall have more facial hairs I thought. Great filming opportunity.

Nothing else here just now.

Kimmie, hope you enjoyed your "dull" day.
Eh. It's okay I guess. I don't do dull very well, but hey, I 'spose it could be worse. :flower:

Yes millions! Maybe even movie rights! I'd look into it if I were you!

Anything good in People this week Suzanne? I always sneak peeks at those when at the salon. :p

Have a wonderful time Tara!

Got the Wicked sequel, Son of a Witch today! Wooooo!!!! Must read current book faster!!!

Tara, I do hope that you have a great time this weekend (though you are gone now). And you may be shocked, but remember, it snowed the day after I got married (Oct 7) here so turning the heat on now isn't that strange. It probably will warm up a little and I'll have to use the A/C again. Just the 40 low and 60 high screwed up the house for a little while. I think I need a little electric space heater.

Suzanne, you just made me more jealous of you :p Sorry though that you had to skip out on it tonight, though I bet the boys were happy :)

Lily, I am kind of concerned about the heat thing this winter. I used to have a lot more *ahem* insulation... I'm feeling the cold quicker. I doubt I will change our settings though. I believe it never gets higher than 67° in the house during the winter. I suppose I will be wearing LOTS of layers this winter ;)

Millions and movie rights... wow! What am I waiting for????? Maybe I could wind up becoming close and personal friends with Orli... you know once I get in his league he'll notice me ::yes::

Got my Jasmine costume today :rotfl: Sometimes I do wish adults could dress up at WDW :p

Honey, Orli will have to make an appt. to even get near you! You'll be so busy counting your millions, accepting Oscars, maybe even Tonys .... Orli will just have to be patient while he waits his turn. ;)

I need to read the Mitford books! Right now I'm reading Devil in the White City. It's more or less about the Chicago World's Fair.

Ah good series there, Lily! I have gone through all that are out there :) I kind of like the old priest quite a bit :)

LOL, Orli will have to wait in line??? Not sure I want to be that rich & famous!

Cleo did something really cute. My laptop is on my bed and she was sitting on that. The corner where the laptop is, is only about 6-8" from where I am sitting currently (chair is a lot closer to the bed than usual). Well Cleo did the classic "Cat stretch to new location that they really want to go even though she knows she shouldn't be there" and as she stretched her front paws onto my lap, the slick little laptop made her almost fall. Caught her mid fall before she hit the ground. She squaked at me kind of like "what did you do that for, I would've made it" Then she decided to place her paw on my keyboard (after she was situated and purring)... guess she's trying to say hi too :teeth:

Sometimes it amazes me how one creature can be so sweet and just steals our hearts... boy am I glad this one seems to be getting better. She goes in for a check up next week :)
