Morning, all! We, too, are having a heatwave and its a beautiful Saturday! The sun is shining and it's 34º, headed for near 50!!! Whoo-hooo! I'm going to put in a day at my old job at the CPA doing some business license returns. The office is on the top floor of a small 3-story building and has the most amazing skylights. I may not be out in it, but I can still enjoy all the sunshine while I earn a little "fun money". Got a new toy to pay for---a little teeny iPod Shuffle! It's sooooooo cute--about the size of a 5-stick pack of gum and it holds something like 8 hours worth of music. I am loading it with all kinds of upbeat music to keep me going when I'm on the treadmill or go out walking. I found out that I can also load audio books which would be nice for flying or long car trips!

Jellybean, I'm so glad your DSL was still there this morning! Hope it continues, we would most certainly miss you and your Jellyrolls picture if your DSL made you :badpc: Weather improved any for ya up there, yet? I hope you notice, I haven't asked for any snow for a good 2 weeks now!!

Suzanne, it's too bad there are people out there who just don't understand that some of us actually DO know what we are talking about when it comes to drugs, esp. pain meds! Glad you at least have your Comfort!! LOL!! Hope your leg continues to improve quickly--that's so great that your limp is gone already! Don't overdo, now, or it will probably come back.

Karen, isn't that first hot cup of coffee extra good on those chilly mornings?! I just love it! Have a great time at the boys' games today! What's cookin' in the crockpot tonight?

Hey, there, Lily! So how does it feel to know you have inspired some of us to get up off our butts and start walking?! LOL!! That said, I love your little story about the remotes!! I am electronically challenged and it wouldn't matter if I had my own--I would be lucky to be able to do more than turn the TV on and off. I have all kinds of trouble trying to switch from the TV to the DVD player :confused3

Rose Mary is up and about early this morning, too! Good luck dealing with the crowds today. Hope you have a wonderful time, experience LOTS of celebrity sightings and find something really special at the BaB booth! And I know what you mean about the tinted windows on the limos! We have all kinds of famous people coming in and out of DC all the time and there are limos everywhere. I'm always peering at them from every angle, trying to see inside.

Hey, Todd! Sure hope you are able to book that dolphin excursion. Not just cuz it's something I would want to do, but I think it's something the girls will really get a kick out of. As much as they both love the pools and swimming, that should be great!

   Howdy, Pam!!!!

Stacy, I hope you were able to get some sleep last night. What's keeping you up? for whatever it is

Gotta get moving, I guess. Hope everyone has a great day! Isn't today Elaine & Luis meet Alan and Mrs. AA day? Whoo-hooo!!!!

I'm gonna ride on the coat tails of those that came before me :teeth: !!!

Stacy...I've only been visited once by the TF and that was 2 years ago. But i leave it!!

Someone asked about the superbowl party last night (I know who ever it is is nodding their head saying, "yeah that was me!") I meant that i was going to a party on Sunday. A bunch of the single girls I work with are going out to watch the game. I don't even know who is playing but I really feel the need to get out with some peer interaction. I used to work at TDS so I had adult interaction, then I was in Grad school so I had more peer interaction. Now its just mom and me and my board friends (see I didn't say "bored" friends!!!!) I don't like the smoke in the bars but hey I have to compromise!! hehehehe

and yes I talked to my admiin person(AP). AP didn't realize there was a problem with the other person(CD). And what makes it so hard is that I have known CD forever and she was once a mentor to me. But now I feel really frustrated with her and just don't know what to do. But I will tell you that I thought I was the only one and when I made a comment yesterday to the other girl(AW) I teach with AW said, "Well its time she freakin retired". I was :rotfl: and told her that I didn't think she felt that way. turns out we neither one have said anything b/c we didn't want to hurt the other ones feelings (AW was in the same sorority as the CD and her daughter and they have been friends for a number of years....are you totally confused now?) Suffice to say we are now suffering together and will hopefully be able to survive the remainder of the year without killing anyone!! I really love CD but I think I will love her more when she is gone!!! hehehe

Got all my tax stuff done and today or monday I'm going to take it to the girl that does my taxes. I think I should get enough of a refund to pay off some stuff and by airline tix to St. Louis!!

Okay, gotta check the school email and then I need to do some deep vacuuming before i go shopping. Just wish I had more money to shop with! hehehe

lator tators!!

Hi again, everyone!

Had another glitch with my DSL this morning after I posted, but it was my fault. I wanted to jump onto my dialup to get my favorites, and I accidentally knocked the DSL line out of the plug. Oops. But we got it fixed :)

Ohhh. I forgot to share some exciting news. One of my cousins has been going through fertility treatments for a while, and she is now pregnant with twins! I don't know when she's due, though. My brother took the call, and men just don't ask questions. I'll have to call my aunt later.

Karen, according to weatherbug, it is now 38 degrees here. It's supposed to be in the mid-forties! Yay! The snow is starting to melt. Woofreakinghoo!

Lily, glad that you're starting to thaw out! Spring will be here before we know it!

Rose Mary, I'm assuming my boss has tickets to the game. Everyone says she is going to the Superbowl. I can't imagine she'd fly down there if she didn't have tickets.

Bethie, did you know that we had an inch of snow in Boston yesterday? And that it is now ice on my walkway? It's all your fault, just like the seven feet of snow we got a few weeks ago.

Tara, have fun at your superbowl party!

Well, that's all for now. I have about five billion errands to do today.

JellyrollsKaren

GOOD MORNING YA YAs

It was just about a month ago that I was walking from Bietergarden over to JELLYROLLS with my WISH pal TigerLily, when she mentioned I should stop by and say hi to the YA YAs. So, "Hi  Ya Yas"

JRKaren, I'm sure Lily told you about our Jellyrolls adventure. I had SUCH A GOOD TIME. And you are right, Scotty rocks! It goes on the 'must do every trip' list ::yes::

pfishgirl, wipe that chocolate off your mouth and come join us on a virtual trip to Magic Kingdom today. All are welcome, here's the link:
http://disboards.com/showthread.php?p=7554883#post7554883

Hi Lily.....thanks for the PM!

Hey Ya Yas!
Jackie!Hi girlfriend! Welcome!

JRKaren, sounds like a "Pearls of Wisdom" moment. We usually confess to each other with an announcment of Pearls of Wisdom then proceed with the thing we did. As, Pearls of Wisdom-in order for the DSL to work properly it must be plugged in.
:rotfl: :rotfl:
We always thank each other for their contribution, so Karen-Thank you for your Pearls of Wisdom.
:teeth:
Ooooh a SuperBowl Party in a bar. What fun you will have. We are going to a house party. It will be fun too.

Beth, I can't believe you think you are electronically challenged. You are loading stuff on an Ipod? I wish I had one and I wish I knew how to use it then. I didn't know you could put ebooks on them. ipod shuffle? I thought the smallest was a mini? Is that the same thing?

I would love something that I could learn to load stuff on and take with me for entertainment. As much as I get entertained with the beauty of the outdoors, that indoor TM just bores me to tears and maybe the entertainment would help. I have tried TV, but I must put it up too loud to hear over the TM so everyone screams. Well then tried headphones with an electronic transmitter, but that didn't work in the location tv and tm are in so had to return them. Also I'm thinking of increasing the length of my walks and might find entertainment to help me in some parts. Oh well, lots of wants.

Now, I am REALLY off to get some work done. Later...

Oh my....seems a number of you took some chatty pills. We are going to get Evans glasses today.
Todd I think a dolphin excursion would be great. Sorry no one on the cruise board is helping you out. Many if you see someones name over there that looks pretty familiar you could send them a pm.

:wave2:

Today is Jordan's bowling party. Gotta pick up the cake in a bit. Our friends from Cleveland are coming with their 3 boys and hanging out here before and after the party. :)

Heatwave is in full swing here, too. :sunny: is shining and it is supposed to hit near 50. :bounce: :bounce:

Wow...lots of talking this morning.

Karen...glad things are going well. Enjoy the games today. I miss that.

Suzanne.....hope the days at work get easier and easier....and congrats on the new laptop!!

RM...have fun. Hope you see someone that you recognize....and get a new sibling for Hope.

Todd.....go for the things that sound fun on the cruise. It is only money, right? ;)

JRKaren....yay for the DSL working. And that is great about your cousin.

Lily...I am computer challenged. Yayas taught me how to post pictures a few years ago. And they were sorry for awhile(hum...maybe ya all still are ;) )......I posted SO many!! :teeth:
An IPod should enter this house sometime.....hopefully in the not too distant future. Dave's company does work for Apple and guess who gets "samples"? Not sure where Dave is on the list to get one though.

Deena.....have fun picking out glasses. I think I still have Geoff's first pair around here somewhere. They were so tiny!

Lots to do today.....inlcuding picking out carpet
Have a good one all.

Morning!!! Nice and :sunny: day here, but I am finding myself a litte bored!!! Greg made it to Tampa last night and said that it is :cold: there.....I was hoping it would be toasty warm and we would be up and moving next week :rotfl2: Guess not!!! But it sounds like he is going to have a nice time with Aunt Helen. Maybe I can put Suzanne in his path.....maybe she can convince him we need to move!!!

I am sitting here waiting for my iPod Shffle too!!! It is supposed to be FedExed here sometime today!!! Peals of Wisdom....If you find a really cool toy that you just have to have...Don't tell Bethie about it....cause she will beat you to the punch and run out and get one before you do!!! :teeth: She will also help you find one when there are none nowhere to be found!! :love2: Lily, an iPod shuffle is an MP3 player that is as small as a pack of gum....There are 2 models...one that holds 120 songs and the 1G that holds 240 songs! Great for those nice long walks and workouts! I can't wait to get mine!! I feel a LLLOOOONNNNNGGGGG walk in my near future!!

Sounds like the yaya's have busy days planned!! There is a DIS meet tonight in ROlling Meadows....haven't decided if I want to go. That is a couple of hours away from me.....but I am home alone, so ya never know! But Gino's pizza is sooooooo tempting!!

Karen, enjoy the day with your boys!

Deena, have a great time picking out thise glasses. I hope it is not too much of a challenge!! I am sure I would have drivne my parents nuts if I ever had to wear them!! Although as I get a little older...I am thinking it might be time to go see the eye doctor!! :earseek:

Bethie, don't work too hard...but make LOTS of extra $$$$$$$!! Hope your day isn't too hard!!! Enjoy the :sunny:

Suzanne, hope that you are feling better and you are able to make it through the day weightbearing!! I know that feeling all too well. Of course there is the Southern Comfort to look forward to at the end of a long hard day!!

Tara, sounds like you have a fun day planned for tomorow!! Hope you have a great time!!! It is always a good time to watch a bunch of guys in really tight pants grovel over a little ball and pat eachother on the butt for a good 3 hours!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

JRKaren, so glad your DSL is up and running!! I have had more than my shre of problems with mine this week. I know just how frustrating that can be!! Hope that it continues to behave. Have fun running your errands!!

Stacy, I gotta to agree with others.....finding a new tag is magical...once you get ine and it is a surprize, you will know what I am talking about. Just be patient. One day you will be very surprized to see something that you said in color under your name. Just takes time and a little patience!!

Hi IBounce!! Nice to have you drop in!! You will find this to be quite a welcominng place! Please make yourself at home and sit a spell!! Always room for one more!!!

Todd, any luck finding out about the dolphin thing? That sounds incredible. If I remeber correctly....Kristy LOVED doing the dolphin thing. I think she went to Discovery Cove. Anyway, I am sure if you PM her, she would tell you all about it. I am thinking about doing something similar in Hawaii!! Sounds like something you just gotta do!! A real lifetime memory!!

Pammykins, how are you there? Loved the Gunny story!! It is just too funny how those little guys become so attached. Barkley has not left the front window since Greg has been gone. Of couse when I am talking to Greg on the speaker phone he comes running with his ears perked. I think Barko is gonna have to go to the airport with me tomorrow. I don't know who misses who worst......I think Greg is missing Barkely more though.......he always does!

Lainey, are you hime yet? Hope you had a wonderful time!! Don't forget, we want to hear all about it!!

Nancy, how is that scrap room coming along? Can't wait to see what you have done with it!! Sounds like Lily is all set to help you with that too!! :teeth:

RoseMary, do tell....who did you see? What new BaB doyou have? Did you have a great time? Hope your day was splendid!!

OK, that is all I can get my brain to remember for now.....so I am going ot find the shower and get ready for the day....although I am thinking it will be a bit on the :rolleyes1 side.....until I get my new toy.....then I am off to upload and walk, walk, walk!! Oh,and I am down 2 more pounds this week!! Whoo hoo!!!

Have a good one!!!

:wave2: :wave2: :wave2: :wave2: Sherry and Nancy sneated!!!

Welcome IBounce!! :Pinkbounc I can bounce, too! (Especially when I have to run to catch the shuttle bus! ;))

Just got back with DS from an informational meeting on the Mission Trip he will be going on to an Indian Reservation in South Dakota this summer. Now we're getting ready to go to his Scout Order of the Arrow Lodge Banquet.

Liz and Bethie are groovin'....... :music: :music: Well, they are groovy chicks, ya know!

Smoochies and mad love to all!! :love2:

Hey all,

Went to littlest ds's basketball game this morning. He is sooooooo darned cute out there. He is starting to get the hang of what he is supposed to be doing. He and one of the kids from the other team were ummmmm chatting out on the court ROFL.

We just got back from selling the truck to the scrapyard. We only got 100.00 but better than nothing and it will also save us on our insurance. Now I have a carport to clean from all the stuff we had stored in the bed of the truck LOL.

Feeling a little more upbeat today. I think things just kinda spiraled in on me yesterday from the whole week. Got a decent nights sleep last night and now I feel a little more able to tackle the world.

Im on the phone now with the insurance company now. Im hoping it will be a good amount off per month. Woooooooohoooooooo just got off the phone with the insurance company. Our payment will be going down by 80.00 a month!!!!

Well gotta get dh moving on getting the carport cleaned out before the neighbors get cranky LOL. I will check back in and ketchup in a little while.

HUGS TO ALL!!!

Hi everyone!!

Happy Saturday....I wouke up with a monstrous headache- I think it's because my regular glasses (progressinve lenses) are horribly old and scratched - so bad that it's like looking out of fogged up widows - I think it's giving me a good case of eye strain - so - I am putting $$ aside very week for new glasses but in the meantime have been wearing my computer glasses - basically magnifiers - great for the computer - horrible for distance - hence more headaches!! We are ging out to dinner tonite wht DH family and then back to BIL house for cake to celebrate January/February family birthdays. My nephew turns 21 tomorrow - I bought him 21 $1 scratch lottery tickets. DD is in CT at her BF's house - DS is out and about - playing "pond hockey".

Thanks to Beth and everyone else that send me words of encouragement on DS grades -and yes - he did fail gym because he didn't change!!

lys eeyore - Karen - sending hugs to you!! :grouphug:

Pam - god luck with that computer!

Deena - it's good that they were able to catch Evan's eye problems now - good luck choosing glasses - my DD started wearing glasses in kindergarten - I'll never forget how big they looked on her little face.

TLinden - Karen - I'm keeping my fingers crossed for your new DSL - hurray and best wishes for your cousin - as I type it is 51 degrees here - woooopeeee!!

Lily - I was chuckling reading about you and DH using IM across the room - our family computer is in my office and my son IM's me all the time!! :earboy2:

Rosemary - I hope you had fun at BAB today - let us know what you got!!

Sherry - hope the bowling party goes well and everyone has a great time.

One last question before I sign off......We've been invited to DD's BF 18th birthday party next weekend - any suggestions for gifts?????

I'll check in later.

:sunny:

DH is sitting nearby and I am giving him the fine wine.
I want one!
What!? He asks? I tell him a BaB. He has already heard this one. AND an iPod shuffle I add. Where, he asks, might I find one and where will I find the songs I will put on it? Well, I don't know I tell him. I will just ask my Ya Ya friends! I figure if I persevere with this I might get one of the items anyway.
Sorry but, this is EOIP. Off I go to whine.

Paula I am so sorry you have such a bad headache. Progressive lenses are great...they want me to get them....but so pricey. I hope you can get the money saved very soon so that you can get them and the headaches will stop. Hmmmm gifts for an 18 year old. The only thing I can think of is a gift certificate. They love getting money too. Have fun at dinner tonight.

Well Im off to bball game number two for the day. I will checkin when I get back.

HUGS TO ALL!!!!

LOL!!!! Lily, pull this up and show your DH http://www.apple.com/ipodshuffle/ They are only just now coming out and are VERY hard to find. I got lucky, cuz my local Best Buy is what they call a "Lab" store--they get all the new stuff first so we can be guinea pigs. If you go to the Apple Store online, you'll see that it doesn't ship for 3-4 weeks. so ya just have to call around to all your local electronics stores to see if they have them in yet. I think Best Buy has the best deal, though, because they have a Replacement Plan (like a warranty) for only $19.99 that's good for 2 years. Same thing from Apple is $59.00!! As for music, do you own CDs? With the software that comes with the iPod Shuffle, you copy your CDs (the whole thing or just individual songs) to the computer and then from the computer to the Shuffle! It's WONDERFUL!! And even though I can't figure out how to use the TV remote properly, I can do my music all by myself! I got a different set of headphones for myself too, cuz I don't like the in-the-ear thingies. The music makes all the difference on the treadmill, too, cuz I walk to the beat! My Pearls of Wisdom for today, neither Wishes nor Illuminations are good walking songs. They are toooo slow. But if you pick out all kinds of upbeat music, it's a blast!!

 Hi, Ibounce!! Welcome to Ya Ya Club Med!! Have you scheduled a massage or mud bath yet? You'll be sooooooo glad you did!!

That's all I can manage for now--gotta do my Bible Study homework for tomorrow and dream up something brilliant for dinner. Catch ya'll later!! :grouphug:

Beth, :love2:  I just told DH and he just shighed. I think he is getting weak. I am using my Ya Ya influence! ::yes:: Thank you!

Paula, sorry about your headaches. Hope your $$$ jar fills up soon so you can get those glasses. Clever idea for a birthday present too.

Wow Pam what an experience your DS is having with the scouting program. Ny nephew just had his eagle ceremony this month.

Liz, what did you decide to do today then? It was so nice here, but I didn't make it outside to walk. I hope I can tomorrow. I spent most of the day working.

Sherry, hope the party and all went great.

Nancy, hope you found the carpet you wanted. Do tell.

Good evening, everyone!

I had a very productive day today. Went into Boston and did a boatload of errands. Had lunch at P.F. Changs, and was going to see a movie, but it was so beautiful up (the thermometer read 53 degrees) that I decided to walk all over Boston. Grabbed an ice cream at Cold Stone Creamery, and went to church at this little chapel in a shopping mall. It sure was a nice day. I did a ton of walking.

Jackie, welcome! Glad you had a blast at Jellyrolls! Scotty and Ray are my piano guys :) If you go again and see Scotty, make sure to tell him I sent you. It usually gets your song played faster (if he knows it).

Deena, you'll have to post a picture of Evan with his glasses when you get them. I bet he'll look cute in them :)

Sherry, hope that Jordan's party is a blast!

Nancy, hope you had luck carpet shopping.

Liz, so let me get this straight. Not only does Beth wish for 18 feet of snow to fall on Boston, she also steals all the Ipod Shuffles. I bet she also would wish for snow in Indiana so you can't get your Ipod Shuffle. That Beth.

Pam,   (aren't you glad that we figured out a way to talk in code using the dancing bananas so no one else would know what we were really saying?)

Paula, I'd probably just give the 18 year old money or a gift card--kids that age don't usually like what adults pick out for them.

Lily wants what everyone else has? A BaB? An Ipod Shuffle? I bet she even wants Paula's headache. That Lily.

Karen, hope you had fun at your son's bball games. I always enjoy watching my nieces and nephews play sports :)

Beth, are you getting a kickback from Apple for promoting the Ipod shuffle?

Well, that will do it for now.

JellyrollsKaren

P.S. Pam,

Just back from eldests bball game. I so love to watch the kids play. My eldest had a blast out there and is getting to be a really good player too. He went down court all by himself and made a basket!! His team can really razzle dazzle too. They are undefeated. It's been a busy but a really good day.

JRKaren it sounds like you had a wonderful day too!! I so love Boston. I would have loved to have taken that walking tour with you.

Bethie and Liz your ipodshufflers sound so neat. Maybe I will ask for one of those for my birthday in August. They should be much more available by then.

Lily I hope dh breaks down and gets you your BAB and your ipodshuffler. It would be so good for your walking.

Welp dinner is ready. Gotta go feed the troops. I will be back laters.

HUGS TO ALL!!!
