When is Mothy Elaine coming home to get us back on track?? ;)
Tomorrow night :(

I know y'all are happy, but I am not :guilty:

Found some good toppers (Nancy) So I will have a few things to send out as soon as I get home

Should be packing but I am not...

see y'all later :wave2:

Nancy, you were there, too...fogot to mention because you're so petite in size. I felt left out, my DIS pin is packed away, lol!

Those eggnog cookies sound yummy-gotta try that! It gives me an idea to make some eggnog smooties, though!

Naw...you can stay longer, Elaine!! :p
Ohhh...new toppers :hyper:

Glad I was there ::yes:: I thought for sure Elaine would take the opportunity to stick me in a drawer somewhere!! :teeth:

Nancy, don't worry-if you want me to go on topper scavenger hunts, I'm ready for the challenge, lol! My friend Heather was teasing me about the Christmas display in the car. She saw the Halloween toppers the last time she was here-and I've switched out to a quite festive array!

Suzanne

Thanks Suzanne.....just whenever you are there and there are any new ones...grab me one :teeth:

kimmie- it's good to see again too! I'm glad you like the pics :) my bro is a real trooper. He's gone through a lot ...thanks for the prayers

liz- thanks for the thoughts any prayers. I got to see my dad, he's seems in a better mood. lol , I'm not really able to concentrate on school...it's tough. :)

kimmar- glad you like my siggie pic :D

boo- thanks for the good thoughts :)...we're hoping that my dad will be home for Christmas, but it's too early to tell. If not, we'll probably be there with him at the hospital .

if I missed anyone (and i'm sorry if i did!) thank you all so much for the prayers and PD.

an update: my dad came through his surgery ok, but that last night he was in a HUGE amount of pain from it...he was saying that nothing worked as far as the medicine..I think he will be going back to the rehab Friday or Saturday...and hopefully I will visit him Sunday...
My brother met with the plastic surgeon on tuesday, and he said that the swelling in his cheek isn't very good. My bro needs to go back in January, to see if the cheek needs to be operated on.
My stepmom is recovering very well...it's hard for her to stay off her feet anyways, so that's good.

Welcome Mr. Incredible!

HI NANCY

:D

Oh nuts. She's comin' home!:( Pam, better untie Antonio and get that pink bunny outfit off of him! (no Pam, he DOESN'T need your HELP!:earseek: ) Can't wait to see you back Elaine.;)

Hiya Kristy!

Hey Manda-I'm glad your stepmom seems to be doing ok. I know things are going to look up for Dad and bro too!

Oh Nancy you are CRUEL! ;) I never even knew half of those cookies even existed! :wipingdroolfromkeyboard:

Good mini-TR Poohzanne-between you and Nancy's cookies I need to go run 5 or 10 miles.;)

I have been wrapping presents since very early this morning.....very glad to be done. Actually got paid to wrap ALL Greg's niece's presents.....and there were a bunch!!!! Mine have been done for a while now! Anyway it is ALL done now so yeah!! I just have to make some Christmas cookies and gookies too!!! (Pam got any good recipes?)

Now I can't remember who asked.....but On the Record was fabulous!!! It is truly a great show..definately a Disney lovers show though......not sure how well it will do on Broadway..........I think it is not going to fair well. I can only hope I am wrong.

Liz was there as the xrated mickey jingle bells beanie (he wants you to press a most inappropriate place to begin his song).

It was all Pam's fault!! You know how she is about tucking a buck!!!!

Whooo hoo!! Bethie taught me how to quote in multiples....now that is dedication! To think she selflessly took time out of her BUSY schedule to help me wiht this. Now I can be a quoting fool!! BEWARE!!! Bethie, promise now to quote you out of context!!!

Manda, glad to hear things seem to be getting a bit better!! More prayers for continued improvement. Good luck with the studying thing! I can only imagine how hard that must be.

Kristy, what a cute pic of the precious little girl!! So glad to see she is a prencess in the making! That just tickles my heart!! Good to see you!! Pop in often!!

Mr. Incredible, things are a bit tame around here as most of the rowdy YaYa's are in the world having fun on all of our behalves!! How thoughtful of them!! As you can see, there is LOTS going on in the Flrida neck of the woods!!! Keep stopping by! Nice to have you here! Oh, and BTW, count me as anither who has not seen your movie!! But take no offense, I have seen very few Disney movies......not just yours!! Haven't seen Cindy's, Alice's, Snow White's and Sleeping Beauty's to name just a few!!

Lainey, I would not want to come home either!! And to think there is going to be a cold front headed through this way!! Hope you make it home before the snow flies!!

Nancy, that is quite a cookie list you have going on there!! Need any tasters? Thought I would ask to be sure NOT to miss them before they all go away!!

OK, sorry to be so short, but I am pooped!!

Hugs to all that I have missed...but do know you are all in my heart!!

Mad, mad, mad love to you all!!!

Nighty night and sweet dreams too!!!

Dave made it home.....took a taxi from the airport to work  Glad work will pay for that one!!

Oh Jeannie, there are many, many more cookies that I'm sure you haven't heard of. When you get to feeling domestic I can send you a couple hundred :)

Sure Liz come on over. I always need testers for those new and unknown one. I've had some that have been pretty bad.

Good night all.

Morning all!

Nancy, I wanna be a taste-tester, too. :teeth: I think Junior would love those Egg Nog ones. :teeth:

Jeannie, I haven't heard of half those cookies either.

Elaine, I wouldn't wanna come home either. The weather is looking yucky for the next few days, too. :(

Nancy....the cookies sound wonderful. I am cutting back this year, even debating whether I will bake for the neighbors or not.

Kristy...if you don't mind, once you watch Clay, I would love to borrow your tape.

Elaine...get back here and suffer like the rest of us, jk. I wouldn't want to come back either.

Liz...paid to wrap gifts. I could do that.

Manda...prayers still coming your family's way.

The memorial service last night was really nice, not too sad, it was must the right combination. We all received a little red heart. Cassie wanted one then said "what is this for"...I explained that it is to remember how much her Nene loved her.

The weather here is yucky...rain, rain and more rain. We are suppose to have the city Christmas Walk tonight, I won't go if the weather remains this way.

Okay....sign up for Can't let go of stuffed animals Anonymous. I have no issue with letting them go, just ask Todd and the girls :earseek: By the way...Todd doesn't need to know there are others like him, you guys aren't helping me;)

So.....Christin's picks are Butter Cinnamon and lemon cut-outs.
Geoff's pick are Chocolate Covered Cherry and Sugar.
M'Cori wanted an oatmeal, so I decided on Disneyland's Oatmeal Raisin
Dave wants the Peanut Butter Blossoms (that's the peanut butter with kisses, Kristy)
I want Ghirardelli Brownies (might have to throw in Pecan Sandies too)
New ones: Gingerbread Cookies with Chocolate
Pepperkaker
Soft Christmas (looks like a sugar, but it is for Dave's work anyway ;) )
Eggnog Thumbprints
Honey-Nut Christmas
Minted Snowballs
And then the Fantasy Fudge
Berry Cobbler and No-Bake Chocolate Truffle Pie for Christmas dessert
How's that sound??

GREAT!! Where do I place my order??!?!

Good morning....
Okay cookie orders and cake testing are T-W....about noon...HERE!! ;)
Come one, come all.
I used to bake for all the neighbors too.....and Dave would make some kind of "container" or something to go along. We gave it up after a few years.

Amanda....sorry....Todd, you need to get rid of those animals....except for Frankie of course ;)

Glad the memorial was a nice one, Amanda.

Eggnog Thumbprints

Recipe By :Cookies for Christmas
Serving Size : 40 Preparation Time :0:00
Categories : Cookies Formed

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method
-------- ------------ --------------------------------
2/3 cup butter -- softened
1/2 cup sugar
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
2 egg yolks
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 egg whites -- slightly beaten
1 cup finely chopped walnuts
1 recipe Rum Filling
Ground nutmeg

Lightly grease cookie sheets.
In a large mixing bowl beat butter with an electric mixer on medium to high speed for 30 seconds. Add sugar and nutmeg. Beat until combined, scraping sides of bowl occasionally. Beat in egg yolks and vanilla . Beat in as much of the flour as you can with the mixer. Using a wooden spoon, stir in any remaining flour.
If necessary, cover and chill about 1 hour or until dough is easy to handle.
Shape dough into 1" balls. Roll balls in egg whites, then in chopped walnuts to coat.
Place balls about 1" apart on prepared cookie sheet. Press your thumb into the center of each ball.
Bake at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Transfer cookies to a wire rack. Cool.
When cookies are cool, pipe or spoon about 1/2 teaspoon Rum Filling into the center of each. Sprinkle with additional nutmeg.

Rum Filling: In a small mixing bowl beat 1/4 cup butter until softened. Add 1 cup sifted powdered sugar and beat until fluffy. Beat in 1 teaspoon rum or 1/4 teaspoon rum extract and enough milk (1-2 teaspoons) to make a filling of spreading consistency.

Morning... :)

Everybody in the whole world has the Clay Christmas CD but meeeeee.... whine whine. :charac2:

Sherry, the 60 Min. thing was cool. The primary theme of the story was focusing on how Christian rock is getting more and more popular and is crossing over into the secular stations, that Third Day is being played on the "mainstream" stations and how groups like Switchfoot and Evanescence have roots in the Christian music world. Who knew? I didn't know that. I knew Creed's music had definite Christian... ummm... influences, but didn't know that about Evanescence.

I loved reading Suzanne's Prime Time YaYa report! Sounds like ya'll had a great time!

Minted snowballs?!?! Oh my!! :cloud9:

Nancy, I'm glad to hear you didn't have to drive to the airport. That's no fun.

Manda, how is your dad doing? Wait! You met Sean??

Sherry, when will Jr. hear about the MRI results? I hope all goes well for him!

Today, my little Christmas village goes up! Yay!

Nancy, you're awesome!! Mint, eggnog, gingersnaps!! I'm in heaven! I'd tell ya'll that I'm thinking of making these for my neighbors, but... I don't want to put ya'll in a position of making you worry about my neighbors health and well being. Maybe I should just ask Tom to make them instead....

LOL.....maybe ;)
The gingersnaps are super easy......haven't tried the others yet...on my list. If someone gets to them before I do, a report would be most welcome ::yes::
