Good Morning all!!!

Nancy RATS that your dh's boss wants the party at his house!! That is just too many people for that size house. Why couldnt he have just left a good thing alone and kept it at the winery. Im glad to hear Christin is doing better. Poor kiddo thats a long time to be sick. She is in my prayers that she gets all better very soon. Unfortunately from experience that naggy cough takes forever to go away. As gross as it is Robitussin DM really works for it though. I did see that you can now get Caplets that have Robitussin in them so that might be an option for her. At least she wouldnt have to taste that nasty stuff.

Sherry how are you and your crew feeling today? Better I hope. You are all still in my prayers kiddo.

Boss is back today from vacation...ARRRRGHHHHHH...........should be a wacko crazy day. He gets all spazzy when he gets back and wants everything that had to wait on him to get back.......done yesterday. Thankfully I have nothing to do today that was left over so I can just work on what he comes up with today.

Last night we did something that just makes my heart feel good. There were several reasons we did this, one is because this is the first year my eldest doesnt believe in Santa and wanted to create a special Christmas tradition. He wanted to be Santa for someone who might not have a Christmas, and two even though money is tight for us the thought of a child going without Christmas was bothering me greatly. Well, Dh has an angel tree at work and yesterday he got a name for us. The little one we got is five years old and he wanted a bike....that was his dream gift. Well dh and I and the kids will give him that dream gift. I found a great bike for 29.99 and a helmet for the bike for 9.99 so for 40.00 we will make this little man's christmas special. We had the BEST time shopping around for it. I'm going today to the dollar store and buying him about ten little things to go with it. I want him to have a few things to open. This was done through the Salvation Army and it just did my heart good that I could do something good for them since they were the only people who helped out my mom when my natural father died when I was tiny and my mom had four kids to try and take care of.

I came up with an idea for next Christmas for the extended family that dh said just would not fly with the rest of the family. I thought of instead of us all buying gifts for the neices and nephews that we each take that money that we would have spent and adopt a child from an angel tree and spend that money on that child. Our kids get gifts from not only us but from Grandma and Grandpa and in the case of my BILS and SILS from another set of Grandparents and aunts and uncles. I just thought this would be a special way to both help someone out and extol the real meaning of Christmas. Dh says it will never fly. I can tell you that my kids..especially the eldest would love this idea. My little one is begining to come around to realizing Christmas is just not about what we get and about want want want. He learned that last night when we bought the bike. He wanted that bike so badly but after talking with him he understood that a small child would not have a Christmas without it and it was about this little boy. We told him that we would get him a bike but when mom and dad were a little more healthy and could ride along with them....we would all buy bikes and ride together and we would get him one just as kewl as the one we bought last night.

Awwww my little one just got up and said he wishes it were Christmas today....not because he wants gifts but he wants it to be Jesus's Birthday!!! Too cute.

Welp I better get moving and get the eldest up for school.

HUGS to everyone!!

Just a quick good morning. Its time to start waking the boys. Will ketchup later!!

:wave2:

Hi Kids!

Just a quick post here. Only have a few minutes.

Had a wonderful day with the Yaya folk yesterday. It was so nice meeting everyone, and seeing those who I had met again. We all drank the Beverly and lived to tell about it. Some folks even went back for seconds. There are pictures to prove it, too :) I wish all of you could have been there :(

I just found out that my beloved Scotty and Ray will be playing the night of the Jellyrolls meet on Friday. I am soooooooooooo excited to share my love for my favorite piano players with the DIS folk. Should be a blast. I was bouncing off the walls when I confirmed with Scotty. He said when they realized that the Michigan trip was cancelled, he told Ray to make sure both of them were scheduled for Friday night :) Yay!

Today, I'm going to do the Backstage Magic Tour. Tonight, I think I'm going to Downtown Disney to get a sandwich at the Earl of Sandwich, and then on to Jellyrolls to see my guys :)

Well, that's all for now. Talk to you all later.

JellyrollsKaren

Morning everyone.

Sherry....hope your house gets 'degermed' and everyone feels better. Beanie has 'your' ornaments in her signature with names on them. They look really cool.

Nancy...way too many people for that size of a house. Does he plan on putting people in his bedrooms :earseek:

We did St. Nick's night last night. We tried to give Cassie the little gifts she asked for that we hadn't planned on for Christmas, they were a Barbie in a pink dress and a purple ball. You know how difficult it is to find a 'normal' Barbie these days. Even the one I found still had pink legs. The Barbie was fine in Cassie's eyes...we failed on the ball. It was too big. She informed me that she told Santa she wanted a little purple ball  Wish she had told me that before I paid $6 for a ball. I may have been able to find a smaller one cheaper...although purple was hard to find, we could only find a scooby doo purple ball. I have to say being the toothfairy, St Nick and Santa Claus are not fun jobs at time. Where do I turn in my resignation?

Morning!

Jordan is still a bit wheezy and has a nasty cough. He feels a bit better, though. I'm feeling better, but have a tickly throat and a tickly, dry cough that is driving me nuts.

I'm watching my neighbor's 10-month old DD today. She started a new job and needs me to watch her today and tomorrow, and by Weds. she should start going to daycare.

JRKaren, sounds like your having a great time. :)

Amanda, I saw those ornaments in Beanie's sig and fell in love with them. :) I would like to put my boy's names on them. :) When you find out where to turn your resignation in, let me know....I'll send mine in, too. ;)

Karen, glad you had a good time at the party. What a wonderful thing you did for that little boy. I'm sure having that bike will make his whole year. :) And what a great lesson your teaching your boys. ::yes::

Nancy, hope Christin feels better soon. Junior and I want to see Finding Neverland while the boys are in school, but it doesn't start early enough. Only one theater around here has it, too. Can't believe your boss wants to have a party at his house.

...sounds like you ya-yas are having a grand 'ol time!

I have to say being the toothfairy, St Nick and Santa Claus are not fun jobs at time. Where do I turn in my resignation?

That would be to Todd, Amanda.... ;) I used to get so frustrated (not to mention exhausted!) being everything. My husband would nonchalantly stroll off to bed and I would be up until 3:00 am completing all the tasks! :guilty: But - you've guessed it - I miss all of that sooo much! I still go to bed late on Christmas Eve (actually Christmas morn) because we wait and put out all the gifts and fill the stockings. My kids love to talk about how they just can't believe that I was the TF, Santa, Cupid, E. Bunny, etc.

Sherry - I hope the Get Well Fairy visits your house and douses your abode with Lysol and germ killer.

KarenA - glad to hear the office party and "hehehehehehe" went so well! :smooth:

Nancy - boo hiss on the office party.

Hello to all the DISers whooping it up in the World!! It sounds as though you are skirting the edge on needing us to come and bail you out. :moped: There is one small problem, though - Liz absconded with the bail money and has holed up in a sleezy dive with Skye, the stripper...... She is trying to teach him to strip *AND* remove his socks during his performance. A difficult task but she assures me that she is the right woman for the job. puckerup:

I picked up DD at college on Friday - we hit the street vendors (well - we shopped at the street vendors, we didn't assault them!), the University bookstore, then the mall, then Costco's, then lunch, and then Barnes and Noble.

On Saturday I had the privilege of arising at 6:15 am and picking up my friend. We did a road trip of almost 3 hours one way to cover an event for the newspaper. One of our advertisers co-sponsored a fund raiser for underprivileged children at a car dealership. People paid money and got to meet and greet 4 NASCAR drivers as well as around 30 local race car drivers. I got back home 9 hours later - just in time to jump in the pick-up with DD and drive to a tree farm. We've always had artifical trees due to allergy issues with me and DS. Poor DD always laments the fact that her childhood was robbed of getting a real tree. So - I caved in. The men were out hunting (what else is new... ), so DD and went and got a tree. She picked out an 8 ft. Douglas Fir.

Sunday we spent the morning and afternoon decorating the tree and then had to go a couple of towns over to hear my DS perform with the HS Jazz Band at a Holiday Open House. DD then headed back to college. I stayed up until midnight to watch the Steelers beat the Jax by 1 point! :earseek:

Hope everyone has a great day! :flower1:

Amanda,
I forgot to say that Mandy and Cassie are absolutely lovely in the photos in your sig!!!! princess: princess:

I love their dresses! They are very photogenic! (I think you have 2 future models on your hands....)

Good morning.

Karen...we love doing "angel" trees.....we call them tree of giving. Always do at least one.....some years have done 4 or 5 and also always do one for the pet shelter.
It so nice that you could get the little boy exactly what he wants :)

Amanda and Sherry.....I'll take over the jobs of all the fairies and such. Love it!! :hyper: Probably why Santa is still so busy at our house.

Hope everyone gets to feeling better at your house Sherry.

Pam ...sounds like a busy weekend.

I'll be sure and let you all know how the Christmas party goes
Quite a change......I think they wanted to save money. They are arranging transportation for us, so we don't have to worry about driving into Seattle on a Friday night  I just have to get to the office
They asked for sweatshirt sizes for everyone too  Sounds like our days of semi formal are taking a break!

Now...I finally heard some news from Manda (depplyinluv), our long missing little Yaya sister......prayers and pixie dust are in order.
I told her I was copying this over. So this is her story :(

Hello everyone. I haven't been in for awhile, but I stopped in basically to explain why and wish everyone happy holidays and such.

anyways, I don't think I've been on since October, shame on me! But it's because the internet in my room won't work and the only working internet is in my brother's room, but he currently isn't using his room so that's why I'm here. I have also started to play Varsisty Ice Hockey, so that is extremely time consuming, and I'm taking guitar lessons now. And homework, can't forget about that :'(

but now I really need to ask for everyone's prayers.

Saturday (11/27), My dad, step-mom, and Brother were involved in a serious car accident. I suppose I can just post the article, and then I'll write what it left out.
http://www4.fosters.com/november_20...u_11.28.04e.asp
^^^ that's the first one..
the picture shown, that black car is actually what used to be my dad's pick up truck. As you can probably tell, the grand marquise hit right on the driver's side, where my dad was. In the article, it says that all 3 occupants of the pick-up truck were wearing seatbelts- that's actually not true. My dad and step-mom weren't wearing theres. If my brother wasn't , he may not be here right now.
alright well here's the second article:
http://www4.fosters.com/november_20...o_11.29.04c.asp

about that article, my dad did more than just breaking his leg, but i'll get to that. second, my brother is only 11 ..
and now for the third article (tons of mistakes...stupid newspaper)
http://www4.fosters.com/november_20...o_11.30.04c.asp

and now to break it down:
my dad, bro, and step-mom were driving to pick up some doors at Home Depot. They were probably 10 minutes from the store when they were hit. My dad said he saw the car in front of them pull off to the right, and then they were hit. The truck is totalled(sp?). But luckily my family made it out w/o fatal injuries. My prayers go out to the woman who died and her family.
My dad suffered a shattered knee and ankle on his left leg, and also a bone-deep cut. On his right leg, broken tibia and completely shattered ankle and heel. He face was a little banged up, but no head injuries thankfully. My brother (11 y/0) suffered broken bones in/under his left eye. He had a severe fraction in his left leg, and also a bone-deep cut. He also had internal stomach bleeding. My step-mom suffered a shattered forearm and wrist on her left arm, severe chest bruising, broken tooth, and bruising to her face.
My brother left Frisbee hospital to be transported to Maine probably about 4 hours after he got there. His eye at the time looked like a purple softball with blood oozing from it (sorry for the graphic-ness!) But I'm thankful that they got him out of that hospital when they did. He got pins put into his leg, and the bones in his eye will naturally heal back into place, so no plastic surgery, and the internal bleeding stopped around tuesday. He came home Friday 12/3, so he is occupying the family room downstairs. He is such a trooper, It wasn't more than 3 years ago he had meningitus for the 2cd time...

My dad was in Frisbee until Friday when they moved him to NorthEast rehab in Portland, so my brother go to see him. They did one surgery at Frisbee, that was on his knee/kneecap. I really wished he had gone sooner, the care he received at Frisbee was terrible. in his words: "I wouldn't even send my dog here."
From being in frisbee, he's gotten pneumonia, bowel problems, and a yeast infection in his mouth (sounds fun, huh?)

My step-mom was fortunate to be able to share a room with him while they were at Frisbee. She was released Wednesday to go home. She's doing really well, even with the 2 huge gashes on her legs..eww..i saw them being stitched up...but she's walking great, and she's doing fine

My dad is scheduled for his last surgery (hopefully) this Wednesday at Maine Medical Center. The doctors are going to reconstruct the bones in his heel and ankle.

phew. glad I got most of that out.
anyways, thanks for reading, I miss all of you so much!
peacefully yours,
depplyinluv

Now I just don't get this........Pam disappears for days, weeks, sometimes months or years and then starts talking trash about moi? Although it is a great story....I do believe I remember hearing her talk about this "incident" before.......Now I am all about living vicariously through others...but I do believe that Pam needs to be truthful about living her fantasy flings!! :earseek: But yes, I am the right girls for that job....but Pam is the perfect teacher!!! And about the bail money........Pam can really tuck a buck with her teeth!!!!!

I have spent a good part of the morning getting my Christmas cards out. Last call, if I don't have your address and you want a card...send me an
address. I can't believe Iactually found some Chirstmas spirit!!

Boo it is not just you! The posts ARE getting longer!! But we do have quite a job to keep this thread bumped with everybody being gone.....and of course we usually don't get this good of an opportunity to talk about so many of them all at once!! You don't really think they are going to come back and read all the trash we are talking about them...not to mention the fun we are having with all those cabanan boyz!!

Todd have fun with your lights!! Hope that you find that they all work once you are done!! Still enjoying Limewire? Enjoy getting ready for the holidays!!

Hi Jerry's Boys......what is new with you? Long time no talk!!!

Deena, I can't wait to see the spank fest.....Pam better come up with some more bail money huh? Have a great trip!!!

Kimmar :-0 How do you do that double post thingie...do tell!!!

Sherry, how is everybody feeling at your house. Sur hope everybody is feeling better! Beth and I had no idea the cell phone would be on...but figured it was worth a try!! We both giggled when Jr. answered the phone. We really did not expect it!! Glad she was able to find something for you! They sound VERY cute!!!

Nancy, thanks for the update on Manda. That sounds just awful. Poor family! They will be in my thoughts and prayers. BTW, there is a package headed your way....with a check! I even dated it with the right date this time......thought about dating it for next year...;-)

Manda, know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Alan, thanks for posting the pic! Great pic...but I have to agree witht the others....I am having a problem seeing that smile on Elaine's face!!! Love the captions!!! What fun! Thanks for sharing!! Now how about sharing some moonpies!!!!

Suzanne, hope you are not working too hard!! I hope you are able to find some time to play with the YaYa's. It sounds like they may be needing a little supervison!!!! :smooth:

HJ, what is up with you?

OK, I have lots to do and little time to get it all done!! So I better get my butt in gear and get going. Where has this day gone?

Words form Beth and Karen today.......Beth has shopped and is about ready to drop....at Alfredo's for their CL ressies. Beth and Dave are really looking forward to this! Karen went on a tour today and met lots of nice people! Her and Beth were gonna meet up and head to Alfredo's. Sounds like a perfect day with LOTS going on!!!

Anyway, that is what is new here and there.....at least what I know!!
