I admit, one of my highlights of the exchanges is seeing what you send :teeth:
I cannot believe, though, that you are *STILL* having trouble with all that. Do we need to go cheeto a few people for you?

Amanda, very wise... in my house we each get to taste test what we make... after that hands off ;) Glad you are feeling better too! I hope this weekend will help you feel 100%. Oh and smart about the bcc

Yep, meetings... tons of meetings & e-mails being sent out lately. I have some work to do... not sure I feel like doing it with all this now. I think I need the weekend :p

Hello friends and family! I'm finally home at last. It's good :bounce: :Pinkbounc but, it's also very :sad1: .
After living and working with the same wonderful group of
people for 6 weeks I really miss our "family" dinners and after
work late night chat sessions. We also became fast friends with the group that was working "disaster relief" for the state. One in particular who would make a great cabana boy :o .

I feel like I missed the whole months of Sept. and Oct. One morning we were making our hourly drive in to work and we saw
Christmas lights  .

We were suppose to be home a week earlier and they decided to extend us. The rooms we were in couldn't be extended so they had to find us new accomodations. The hotel they put us up in was built in 1924, it was really a very unique place and supposedly haunted. Check out the website below.

http://www.ghosttracker.com/photos-03-04-29Gulfstream.html

Staying there was kind of a cross between The Haunted Mansion and The Shining.

Ok, must be off to do the 10 tons of laundry I brought home and run a gazillion errands. Then to a late meeting at work and happy hour with the work gang.

Sorry this was an "all about me" post. Hopefully, I'll have time to ketch up tonight.

 puckerup: :rose:

RM.... Glad you are home! Your little family here has missed you!!

Cookies.....they last here since Geoff isn't around ;) But he will be here this Christmas. Christin doesn't like very many kinds. Dave is low carbing.....so to resist temptation, I send them to his work as fast as I can....after a taste test of course.
I don't know if I have said this before, but I have been baking for his work places for 5 years (and did mine for 1 year) and very bake the same cookie. They are my guinea pigs :teeth: (excpet at holidays, I do sometimes do a repeat).

Glad names are getting picked up.....only a couple left. You guys are fast!
Pam's   Always fun!! Be carefully opening. They have been know to still be alive in there!

Sorry about that continuing label problem Pam. I do think we are due for a cheeto run......it's been awhile.

Glad you are feeling better Amanda.
I think I'm getting a cold! :( I have enough problems with my ears on planes, I don't need this!

Off to run some errands and do laundry and then maybe start packing :hyper:

Have a good day.

Good morning, all!! Well, the sunshine was short-lived and we are back to gloomy skies today. Had to laugh when I heard the forecast this morning, though. Expected high today is 60º with a low tonight of 55º and a high tomorrow of 77º!!!!! Like, where did the fall weather go??!!! Low 70s for Sunday, so the trick or treaters won't need to wear their parkas under their costumes this year!!

I'm feeling sooooo much better than I was earlier this week--like Amanda, I'd say I'm at about 95%! Unfortunately, DH is REALLY bad and actually called in sick to work today. I think it's the 2nd sick day he's taken in the 5+ years he's been there!!!

WELCOME HOME, ROSE MARY!!!! Love the haunted hotel you got to stay at!! Understand about the bonds you've formed with your coworkers, but that's good. Hopefully, it will make for a more familial atmosphere at the office! Glad you're home and hope to see you 'round the Ya Ya Spa more often!!

Todd, I can certainly sympathize with you on the rain. We've been mostly dry this week, but the overcast and heavy clouds sure do a number on my spirits. :-( Very depressing!! So, will the girls be trick or treating this weekend? Maybe they can feed you some chocolate to raise that endorphin level a bit!!

Amanda, I'm so glad to hear you are feeling better! Good enuff to make iced pumpkin sugar cookies, no less!!! What a lucky bunch of people to have you in their workgroup!! Hope you continue to improve and have a great day!

Pam, I take it you WON'T be sending out your exchange via UPS??!! I'm so sorry that is still giving you such problems. I can't imagine trying to work with a computer that keeps crashing like that. Have some roadkill stew and try to relax. In fact, why not take the next 2 days off?? Tell the boss I said it was OK!!

 for Laine, too. I know a bit about what it's like to have to work in a tension-filled atmosphere. Not the kind of thing you REALLY want to have to wake up for, right?! Is the tea working yet? ;) Hopefully, things will work out and it won't be as bad as you think. I know, I know.......pipe dreams.......

Tara, I'm with the others behind you. You really DID the right thing by making sure the "chain of command" was kept apprised of the situation. Of course, the AP is ticked off because you "told on her" and her trying to make it look like you did bad was probably her way of striking back at you. Sounds like she wants you to be an enabler and help her to keep her short-comings under the rug!! Stand your ground, girlfriend!

So, Sherry, how's that cleaning coming? I admit, I'm one who lets things go and then when there's company coming......look out!!! Good luck with all those hoydens in the house!! Hope you can find time to just enjoy your company while they're here.

Nancy, Nancy!! You are soooooo good!!! Thanks for getting the exchange names out and keeping tabs on all those surveys and such! And I'm heartbroken--no more pumpkin bars?! Good thing today is my payday and I can go grocery shopping for the ingredients to make some myself!

Deena, that is really sad that the school principal won't support your efforts to help motivate those kids! Been through it and I know for a fact that sometimes, those little rewards provide that little extra push that keeps the kids going and allows them to succeed. good luck with it! Good news on the car, though! Whoo-hooo!! What great service dept. to go to those lengths for you!!! They could certainly teach Liz's dealership a thing or two!!

Speaking of Liz..... Hey, girlie!!

  for the rest of ya'll who haven't checked in recently. Missing ya's!!

Hi Y'all-Y'alls :wave2:

I'm around, just very quiet and well behaved. My oldest daughter turns 7 tomorrow and we are having a luau.

And since that was only a shameless attempt to give me this opportunity

Here are the school pictures of my girls from this year. For explanation, these are only matching outfits, not school uniforms. :teeth:

Cute girls, Alan......thanks for sharing :)

Happy baking, Beth .....sorry we ran out so fast. I base the cookies success by how fast they go at the workplace ;)

Well, I need to get Christin up......yep still doing that

See ya all later.

Rose Mary!! Always good to see you!!! Glad you are home, but I can totally understand how it is different now. Would be hard to give up that kind of family feel.

Bethie, tea is definitely NOT working today ;) Sorry that Dave is so bad off. Oh and thanks... work will happen. There are some talking with lawyers saying it is possible they are full of it and we are not close enough to be forced into it... 2 months to figure it all out. We'll see.

Nancy, sounds like you have a perfect test group there :teeth: You ought to mail some out and we'll tell you what we think too ;)

Behaved??????? You've got to be joking

Hi Ya Yas!
:worship: What Beth said. I am totally riding in on her great ketchup! Whee!

Got a name!:teeth: Hope I can do a smile for someone.

Alan, you have adorable young ladies there! Thanks for sharing.

I took on another part time employment project that will hopefully assist in feeding DH's WDW fix just a bit. We'll have to see how this works.

Alan--What a cutie they are...must get their good looks from mom(like my kids):duck:
btw--how old is your youngest?

Beth--Girls will be trick or treating sunday--Mandy will be a cowgirl & Cassie a princess...

Rosemary--welcome home..:wave2:

ALAN!!!!! What doll babies you have!! They are postively beautiful!!! How did you and Todd luck out to have such adorable girls?!!

Todd, can't wait to see your girls in their costumes. You or Amanda WILL post a picture, won't you?!

In fact, I'd like to see everybody's kids (or themselves) in their costumes!!! I just love Halloween!! Disguises are such fun!!!!!

Hi, Lily!!! Up off your knees, girl!! I just had a little extra time this morning! We BOTH know that Liz is the ketchup master around here!! Going to try to fuel Ted's DH addictions, eh?! From what we've heard from JRKaren, we're going to need plenty of that "fuel" come December for tipping at her bar!!!

Laine, I'm sorry the tea isn't working. Not a bad idea to look into getting some legal advice on this predicament they are trying to put ya'll in at work! Maybe somebody can prevent a disaster from happening!

btw, Alan, cute girls you have there...

not commenting there Todd, but I will say in both of y'alls cases that some of the cuteness of the girls came from the Dads too :)

Lily, good luck with the project!! And I am sure you will bring a smile to someones face... you do it quite often as it is!

I second what Bethie says... pics of any kids who are dressing up for Halloween this year please :teeth:

Todd, Lela turns 7 tomorrow and Abigail will be 5 in March.

Since I am the bearded one, I think that makes me either the Mirror Universe Todd or the Anti-Shep. :p

Alan...your DDs are very close to our DDs ages. Mandy turns 7 in December and Cassie turns 5 in June. Wanted Mandy to go to 1/2 birthdays and have a party in the summer, luau was the plan. She doesn't have the patience to wait. I never try to dress the girls a like....but they tend to want to dress a like. Went shopping for first day of school clothes and they picked the same outfit. Oh well! Your DDs are very cute.

Elaine...Todd doesn't need a bigger head:rolleyes: Honestly Mandy Ellen is her Dad made over..except when it comes to her schooling;) My nephews even say when they are playing gamecube with her they feel like Uncle Todd is right there with them. Cassie is me, stubborness and all...except she may be more like her Dad when it comes to schooling:rolleyes:

Beth...We will post pictures some time next week. They dressed up this past weekend, but we didn't take the camera. Hope Dave gets to feeling better

Well thank you for the kind words, Lainey. I can't speak for Todd of course, but in our case the projects are done now. Still, I like to think I can bring a smile to her face and I'm not about to discuss frequency.

How's that for well behaved?

(Todd, take the high road and keep away from this. I'm being the bad guy)

***********
Okay, back to being nice guy.

Thanks Amanda; y'alls posts always hit home with me since they are so close to the same age. Let me know when y'all decide to camp in Alabama :teeth:

Pretty girls Alan. I guess you are ready to fend off the boys with your baseball bat once they are dating age. Same with Todd :)
Actually here at our house is the opposite my phone is ringing all the time with girls calling.
I voted today and the place was packed. I can only imagine what its going to be like on Tuesday. So glad mine is done.
Going cropping tonight and taking Matthew to Buzzfest tomorrow. Its a big concert with lots of groups. This year the ones I can think of are Breaking Benjamin, Velvet Revolver, Story of the Year, Papa Roach....and so on.
Evan goes to a church run preschool and the church is having a party for the kids on Sunday--an alt to Halloween so we are going there.

Crap.....I posted this morning, but my server went down once I hit submit, so it didn't go through.

The recital was good. Jordan did a really great job. :) The others did as well. I can't believe how well they did in 9 weeks. Jordan is signing up again next year, and we've decided we're going to get him a keyboard since he really wants one.

It POURED down the rain this afternoon, and of course, we got stuck in it.

House is nice and clean and now I'm exhausted. Our friends should be here in a few hours. We're heading to Steve & Barry's when they get here so she can get her boys some winter jackets. I got all 4 boys jackets last week for $38. :bounce: :bounce:

Welcome home, Rose Mary. :wave2:

Cute girls, Alan. :)

Sorry Amanda, I'll try not to encourage him or fill his head too much ;)

(sorry Todd :o)

Alan... sigh... you cant fool anyone :p

Deena, enjoy your evening!!! And I wish we could vote early... would make life on Tuesday a lot better for me!

Great deals there, Sherry!!!! We also had a pourdown at lunch time. Luis was saying that he got caught in it.

NOthing terribly exciting... went home a wee bit early. Went to look for a pair of jeans and found nothing in my size. Tonight we are going over to Dawn and Mark's to see his dad play on Jeopardy. Somewhere I will sleep.....

:wave2:

Ohhh...I wanna see Halloween costume pictures too ::yes::

We vote by absentee ballot. Done over a week ago.

If anyone is interested, and didn't see it out there, the Holiday Yankee Candle exchange sign-ups have started :)

Gotta go figure out what to pack

Have fun packing Nancy!

Actually I need to get ready to go to Dawn's soon. Awfully tired though :(

Catch y'all later :)

Everyonce in while, Alan, you remind me that I am not the only trekkie amongst us! If you are the Mirror Universe Todd, does that mean you are his evil twin?! I know Lainey says you don't fool anyone, but, I guess I'm just not anyone.......

Hi, Sherry!! Sorry about the computer problem this morning. I was wondering if you'd swept yourself out the door with the dust! Sounds like I need to check out this store--4 jackets for $38??!!!! :earseek: WOW!!!
