Kristy, sounds like a good Doc appt. Sorry about the tetanus shot... I hate those with a passion! Enjoy the extra time too!!
Okay Nancy, that is true... yes y'all I got a speeding ticket this morning. I wasn't trying to speed and I honestly didn't even notice I was... that's the most embarassing part of it all :(

So there goes $100 of my bonus I just got today... oh well

It really wasn't that bad and I'm TERRIFIED of needles! Luckily I didn't have to give blood.

Don't feel bad. I got a parking ticket on school campus Tuesday evening.

Enjoy your movies and pizza :)

Kristy.....glad it went so well at the doctor's
No classes means more time here, right?
::yes:: like right now!! I'm lounging in bed DISing while watching tv and I have NO homework to do. :cheer2:

Now I have another baby question. How on earth did you all handle the HUGE daycare sticker shock?? I'm going to do my darnest to find a good in home daycare, but if I'm not able to we have to consider moving to a find a cheaper house....and that will be difficult considering we both love this house.

I won't be much help there....I became the day care provider :teeth:

I was lucky and my kids were never in daycare. My grandmother retired when Michael was born to stay home and take care of him. She took care of Matthew as well.
Once David and I got married and Evan was born Michael and Matthew were 12 and 10 and granny was much older, lol. So I talked him into letting me stay at home with Evan. Though losing my salary was a pretty big hit for us (I finally made enough worth missing, lol) it was really a great thing.
Do you have any family members who could watch your baby? Even paying them it would probably be less than daycare.

Yes, well Bonnie, in residential streets I am much much different than I am on the highway. Worlds apart actually... my little car likes to fly ;) If the speed limit wasn't 35, I wouldn't be so upset with myself for being careless.

btw, how long does it take you to get to Columbus ;)

Oh shut it woman!!!! You know you have no room to talk!!!! I do have an issue though... I have something to go your way and now I have no clue how I am going to send it...

Kristy, pizza was great. Wound up with Dominos... hadn't had them in a while and they deliver ;) I am positively terrified of needles. That's why it took me 10 years to get a tattoo and about that long for a belly button piercing. Even then I told them I could not look at the needle nor when they did it. I trusted him that all was sterile because they *normally* have you sign everything saying you saw that it was sterile... yadda yadda... oh well.

I would be no help either with any thoughts on day care... not only because we don't have kids, but because I won't work if we do have them. For my mom, she stayed home all the time... the cost of daycare washed out the pay she would've gotten.

Happy Friday night Ya Yas!

Hope everyone is planning something fun and exciting for their evening. I'm at work, which isn't particularly fun or amusing, but it's not bad. Just thought I'd pop by to say hello. I'm afraid I'm guilty of not having sent my Ya Ya exchange yet. I'll be taking care of that on Sunday (or Monday I suppose, since it would help if the post office was open when I went. ;) ). Don't worry, exchange buddy, it will be worth the wait!

Just skimmin' through the posts tonight since I should, in fact, be doing work (gasp! :teeth: ). Glad to hear your SIL gets to come home, Sherry. I'm keeping her in my thoughts. Sorry to hear about the tetanus shot Kristy! I hate those! Otherwise sounds like good news from the doc - yay!

Many :hug:s and love to all! Have a great night!

Deena now is when I wish I had family closer to us. My parents and available aunts are 45 minutes away from here...and in the wrong direction. I'm also going to look into church daycares. Of course we have to see if we're able to conceive first :teeth:

LOL, well Bonnie, I think whichever is closer to the main highway... that would be more fair to judge in my eyes

Caroline, shame on you... posting when you should be working ;) Eh, don't worry, I will have my exchange out tomorrow. I just finished boxing everything up for everyone. Four things are going out

Kristy, good attitude there... just have faith that everything will fall into place once it all happens :)

...'specially fer Todd! :teeth:

Just got back...a few hours ago! My DS got HIS hair cut at MK yesterday. Boy, oh boy, let me tell you some pixie dust was DEFINITELY sprinkled on US!!1 Here goes:

My DS wanted to have his hair cut at MK, so we decided to forego his much needed haircut BEFORE the trip. Wednesday was our scheduled MK day, so we were going to head there first thing in themorning. Unfortunately, we were running late, so we didn't arrive at MK until about 10:30. Needless to say, there was QUITE a line in front of us, so we decided to head on over to Tomorrowland for a ride on Space Mountain, Buzz, COP, and decided to try again later. We wound up leaving MK, only to return later that evening - RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF SPETRO MAGIC! Anyhoo, once the parade was over, we made a bee-line straight to the barbershop, but -DRAT- it was closed! Knowing we had only a day left to shop for souvies for our friends and relatives, we headed for DTD. Not realizing the time, my DS wailed out, We have to go to get my haircut!!! OMG, what to do? We were in "World of Memories" store (across from the Christmas store) and asked the CM if she knew what time the barbershop closed. She didn't know; no prob, she was on the phone in a flash, finding out. Okay, it closes 5PM - it's 3:22, so we have a few min to devour a sandwich at Earl of Sandwich, but now it's 4:10!! YIKES! My DS and I RAN to the bus depot. Out of breath, we searched for the bus stop which will take us to MK. ACK!! There IS NO bus that will take us to MK!! So, we decided to hop on the next bus to the Contemporary and hoof it to MK.
The precious minutes were ticking away, when we FINALLY arrived at CR. It's now 5:47PM. We ran (or rather, I walked REALLY, REALLY FAST towards the MK entrance. BTW, contrary to popular belief, it's NOT a simple hop, skip, and jump. It's 4:55 and, completely out of breath, I politely asked to the security guard at the exit, my dilemma, if he could please phone someone to see if the barber shop was still open [I didn't want to waste a day on our PH passes to go to the barber shop only to find it CLOSED!] He did and told me that it was still open, but you had to have arrived by 4:30, so he let me through, telling me to go to the Guest Services booth (with 8 people on line) to double-check. Insatead, I went to the entrance and stammered through the whole story again. The wonderful woman at the turnstile said that she couldn't leave her post, but she let me in anyway [sans the passes!] to see if it was still open.
Still hurrying [ and feeling a heart attack coming on!]we arrived at the LOCKED door of the barber shop! I guess I had such a pathetic look on my face, so the barber LET US IN!! My DS was the very LAST CUSTOMER - it really made his day, especially when he was sprinkled with Pixie Dust!! This experience is something, I know, he won't soon forget...... !

WOW Kimmar that's one heck of a story. Congrats to your son on getting his haircut at the Barbershop!!

...it was really awesome of the barber to let us in, although I'm SURE he had a LONG DAY on his feet! He even put Mickey stickers on my DS's mouth so that my DS couldn't talk! It was so funny! (I'll post some pix when I get the photos!)

Evening, folks. Got a few minutes to ketchup here.

Interviewees were both great, so I hired them both! Yippee, now I only need to hire one more day person...and I've got 4 scheduled for a Tuesday interview. I love doing the hiring, just hate figuring out when I'll interview!

Kim, Awwww! I keep meaning to take my kids for that haircut-haven't made it yet. You'll have to post those pics, I'm sure they're adorable!

Sherry, glad that your SIL is coming home. Being high risk isn't neccessarily a bad thing-just means she'll be monitored more closely. I was high risk with Kevin, and everything turned out fine.

Kristy, zip that lip. We kept our plans for Kevin a secret, and didn't tell until I was 13 weeks (that high risk thing). My family is a bunch of blabbermouths. I told ONE family member I was PG with Neil (after telling Mom first) at a b'day party, and by the time I drove the hour home, I'd had FOUR phone calls about the news!

Deena, I can relate to that "I don't want my child to be SpEd, but I want the best for him" thing. Had a little grieving period over it, but we just roll with the punches now.

Beth, congrats on 2000! Guess I must really be a mothy yaya then, but not nearly as mothy as some others here, lol!

Caroline, howdy. One of my employees was telling me her BIL brought our 'cold' weather down with him from Toronto! 60 is cold to these people!!!

Paula, I'll send some of this 'cold' weather up your way!

I'm watching Leno, and now that he's got a gag order on the Michael Jackson trial, he's brought out a guest comedian to tell his jokes! Too funny!

Elaine, it's okay, I have to admit I've had a couple of tickets. Hope the pizza evening helped improve the day.

Off to sleepyland, I'll check in tomorrow.

Suzanne

I've read and caught up. Glad all is well in yaya land.
going to bed soon. Nothing worth posting around here so just laying low!

I'll look in again tomorrow!!!

tara :teacher:

LOL...great story, kimmar.
Dave got his hair cut at the barbershop last time we were there. It was a lot of fun....blue hair, pixie dust and all.

Good night all.

That's a great story there Kimmar!!!

I think I am going to try to go to sleep now... keeping the laptop on my bed in case I can't sleep.

G'night all!

Glad you guys made it in Kimmar. Michel cut Evans hair on our last trip. I really like him. Maura cut Connor's hair--it was his first haircut so he got a certificate (which I scrapped like a good girl)and mouse ears.
Thanks Suzanne...its always nice to know someone else understands the feeling.

Morning all... had two really cuddly kitties last night... I should get moving though... I need to get off to the post office.

See y'all later :wave2:

Morning All,

Sherry Im so glad your SIL is coming home. I will continue to say prayers that everything goes smoothly for her from now on.

Kristy I have had my two in daycare and in aftercare. I started off with a regular daycare and then went to a church run daycare because it was much better and much safer for my kids. The regular daycare I had them in went downhill when it was sold. It does take a huge bite out of the paycheck especially when they are in daycare. Here it can be as much as 120.00 a week for a baby. Dh and I had to decide whether it was worth it for me to work and in the long run yes it was worth it. We did a lot of financial figuring and I still made a lot more than daycare cost. Thats your biggest figuring point is whether or not you would be working to pay daycare or whether what you made could pay daycare and some of the bills.

Elaine I am so sorry about the ticket. I havent ever gotten one....Ive been stopped but I get so shook up they just let me off with a warning LOL!

Kimmar what a wonderful story about your son.

Suzanne Im so glad you were able to hire two people right off the bat like that! Good luck with todays interviews. How are your hives doing? How is the house coming along?

Hi Caroline! Good to see you!

Beth congrats on 2000!

I have a lot of thinking to do this weekend about my job situation. The man from the group came in yesterday. Now they want to keep us so Im going to assume they will pay us what we were being paid. The job will be a bit easier than it was before BUT the man that would be taking over the practice is 69 years old. I cannot see him lasting too long before he either does what my other two bosses did or retires. Then Im left looking for a job again in the near future.

The job I have now is less money and less hours. I love the work and my boss is in his 50's so I have time with him. My coworkers are great. My boss is great and willing to teach me anything I want to learn.

Now I have to decide what Im going to do. I told the office manager of the old job that I couldnt possibly come back before the end of March if I did decide to work for this man because one of the girls in the office is going to be out with back surgery. Her answer to me shocked me to no end. She said "Just leave....you owe them nothing....Just quit and let them worry about getting someone to fill in". This was said by my 58 year old first late bosses wife! I just stood there with my mouth open. I cannot do that and I told her that. First off as a christian I could never do that. Secondly I cant leave them stuck like that. And thirdly there is going to come a day that I need to find another job....especially since the new boss is 69.....and he could really ruin me in the building for doing something like that to him.

I am not fretting or worring about this at all. I have a job right now. I'm just doing a lot of thinking about it, praying about it, and talking to dh about it. God knows whats best for me and he will lead me to the right decision. Im sure of that.

Today is my youngests last bball game. My eldests last game was last night. Im sorry to see it end in a way and Im glad to see it end in a way LOL. They had a blast doing it but now we have our Saturdays back and not so much running around during the week. The awards ceremony is tonight and we find out if my eldest won the White Star Award or not. We have stressed to him that even if he doesnt win it was an honor to be nominated for it.

Welp gotta get the boys up and fed before Bball this morning. I will checkin laters.

HUGS TO ALL!! :grouphug:
