Rise and shine Ya Yas! Sunny and cold day here. Sunshine always starts me with a good feeling, hope it continues.

Sherry sounds like you had a good time even that it wasn't at the concert. Harmonicas can be fun; tell them that it gets the best sound when played outdoors.

Todd what can I say; oh well at least you got to be out and played some? :sunny:

Elaine, we have the heat on too. :( I had the window open last night while sleeping. I love that.

Sunshine to you all today.

I love Hamsters. Had one when I was younger Quiche (after the B-52's song, lol) and one a few years back, Hammie (original huh :teeth: ). If you got the wire cage please tells the girls not to stick their fingers in through the wire bars, the hamster will bite them. I always put my hand in through the opening and let the hamster get a little sniff of my hand so as not to scare it. Matthew always tried to poke his fingers in on the side--even though he was warned not to, and got bit few times.

Oh and we are still waiting for that dang cold front :( Supposed to come through yesterday but its still hot here.

Good morning.

Todd nice to see you

And everyone else too ;)

Have a good Sunday :sunny:

Lily, I know many people who used to have windows open, now close them. Amazing how quickly the weather changes from summer to fall, isn't it?

Deena, I'll be more than happy to send you some of this cold weather your way so y'all cool off.

:wave2: Hi Nancy

Off to watch some football with Luis. Our pro teams are playing each other today... could get ugly here :p

hi all...not much of a ketchup as I have the coughing, aching, stuffy head, fever, and can't rest thing! ugh! I think I have the flu. yuck!

but I will say,
Nancy...if Mt. St. Helens has the hiccups, does that mean when she does blow we will say she "tossed her magama"? hehehe

I promise I'm not the walmart hussy...I wouldnt' know viggo if he walked up and bit me on my back side!!

Okay, going back to bed. Just got the 'puter to do my jury duty questionaire. Now, must rest so i can work tomorrow!

tara

Just popping in for a quick hello from work. I've been in the office since 7:00am (it is now 4:15 pm). I still have a few hours of work left (although I'll leave some of it for tomorrow), and I'm going to take some proofreading home tonight, so I'll probably put in another hour or two tonight. Remind me I like the money.

I did take an hour to run to the mall to buy a digital camera (Nikon Coolpix 4200), and have lunch (on the company).

Well, back to work. Hope everyone is well :)

JellyrollsKaren

Tara, sorry you aren't feeling well... take it easy and I do hope you are feeling much better soon

JRKaren, you like the money ;) Enjoy the new camera!

I am starting dinner for Luis. His team lost, so I am consoling him with his favorite dinner. Meat is browning so I had better get back and heat the oven for the garlic & cheese biscuits I am making

Quiet day today here in Yayaland.

Elaine...football ranks with me about where Survivor does with you :p But cute guys are nice to look at ;)

Tara....feel better.
:p Toss the magma......I would love to go get a closer look. Yep...my secret, I am a geology nerd ;)

Movie was good. Lunch was good.
Back to cleaning and dinner prepping I go :wave2:

I was thinking.... since it's so quiet here in YaYa land, maybe I should round up the cabana honeys and keep them company... ::yes:: Can't have idle cabana boys.

RM got a tattoo!! Woo hoo!! Still a chicken butt here.

My hamster was named Spike. He was big (he had visions of being a guinea pig someday) and he thought he was pretty tough. He would've made a good sumo wrestler in the hamster world. He was huuuuuge!

Viggo biting?!? Oh my! The visual!! :faint:

You like the money Karen. ;)

How you feeling today Tara?

Dinner sounds lovely Elaine! What's the story behind the new sig pic? It's cute!

Hi Nancy! Survivor and football. I have a hard time following either one. I don't do well with anything that lasts more than 30 minutes. How I can sit through the LOTR movies is a mystery. Hmmm... actually. Scratch that. I guess there's really no mystery there is there?

Nothing interesting going on here.

LOL, Nancy, yep Survivor is high up on my list ;) I can imagine how football would be for you though :p I still haven't looked at the site to see how cute your guys are!!

Still a chicken butt here.
No arguments here ;)

Dinner wound up being really good! Next time I whip up some garlic & parmesean bread things, I'll make them into breadsticks. They tasted awesome (and trust me, I don't brag up my food much) so i will be happy to make it again.

The sig pic? Well I've been changing out some of my stuff lately since it's been there forever. So I thought I'd start messing with my sig pic. Well... that actually is a picture of a card we got while at the Grand Californian in July. I thought that little squirrel was so cute!!! So... there he is instead of the castle (which was highly photoshopped actually) ;)

Just dropping in. Work is busy. Homelife is busy and will be busier this week as we get ready to camp. Good things....Dr. has me taking magnesium oxide and my headaches are gone, feel better than I have in a long time. Bought a couple small items for Christmas this weekend. 5 day weekend coming up:tongue:

No heat on here yet....I like to have a reason to cuddle:p

Let me say...they caught me in a good mood, I am not pro-hampster. Didi is his name.

Sherry...we are thinking of taking the girls to see Shark Tale, possibly 2 weekends from now.

Where's Liz?

Gotta get the girls to bed...it is my bedtime.

So that's why you didn't answer your cellphone. We were visiting Sue's Uncle Ed at Doctor's Hospital West and called you when we were leaving on the off chance that you and Luis didn't have any dinner plans. We ended up at Quaker Steak & Lube at Polaris. Due to her uncle's condition, we may find ourselves back in your neighborhood in the not to distant future.

If you had answered your phone, I was going to ask "What's for dinner?" I guess that all I really had to do was check the Ya Ya thread. ::yes::

Amanda - I finally convinced Sue to let me turn on the furnace today, but only because we were going to be out of the house long enough to get that "first furnace use of the year" smell out of the system. It was nice to come home to a toasty house. But I still plan on cuddle time nonetheless. ::yes::

Oh dear... John, don't kill me for this, but I haven't added all the names to my new cell phone yet (not all the way through Js yet) so if you aren't in my cell phone, I have it set up to go straight to vibrate... long story short I didn't even hear the phone ring!! If I had heard, I would have made double the batch and invited y'all over for dinner ::yes:: Sorry I missed you though :o
Sorry about your Sue's uncle though. But if you are in the neighborhood, call again (I added your number to my cell so you will ring now if you call ;))

LOL, Amanda... we don't keep the house very warm even with the heating on. It was still in the mid 60s so cool enough to want to cuddle today ;)

Need to get some stuff ready for work... blech, weekend was too short

Evening, yayas!

Sitting and relaxing and waiting for the hot pack to get hot. Oy, sick of this propping and heating garbage. The vein is getting worse, and I'll probably have surgery the first week of November. At least the blood clot dissolved!

RM, Tattoo? It sounds really nice! Maybe I'll take the plunge someday, too. Hang in there, those hot parking lots can't be fun-but think of how much help you're providing.

Nancy, I'm a geology nerd, too! I was a cave guide way back when and love that stuff. Enjoying having Christin around?

Amanda and Todd, You caved on the hampster, huh? Now I have to watch out...at least Kevin is like me in that he wants a big dog.

Speaking of dogs, Kimmy, give that adorable furbaby lots of hugs. He looks like a love.

JRKaren, Enjoy that Coolpix. I have the 2500 and love it...came by another this week for 70 bucks, so now Ed has one, too.

John, how is Quaker Steak? There's one by mom's that beckons me with the wings...

Elaine, those bread thingys sound good. Obviously, your team won! Only thing we're watching sports wise is Nextel cup, and my driver keeps moving up (woohoo!).

Tara, Jury duty, ugh. Get some sleep, girl!

Hello to everyone else...gotta go check on some stuff.

Suzanne

Evening Ya Yas!

Deena, you don't want our cold fronts! They will be so fffffrozen you won't like it at all.

Heat is off here today. Window will still be open here tonight. I just love that cold air coming in.

Elaine, sounds like you had a perfect day. Interesting siggie pic.

TC, sorry you missed Elaine and Luis. Also sorry about Sue's uncle.

Nancy, hi there.

Tara, feel better. That start of school where all the kids spread things around is sure a tough time. Hope you don't stay sick too long.

JRKaren, have fun with your camera. Oh and yeah, you like the money!

Kimmie, good idea about the cabana men. You can have them after I'm done. You know that is my Job and what I have been doing as all others have been MIA. Help yerself...there's plenty to go around!
:teeth:

Amanda, No hamsters here. We did the gerbil thing as they were day time not night time creatures. It was a blessing when they passed to gerbil land. Oh and so glad those headaches are getting better.

Suzanne, big dog, yup, that was me. Had a couple of Great Danes along my way. Big dogs.

I didn't get to do anything I wanted or planned to this weekend. DH started the project of taking down the wall paper in my Mom's room to paint it. So the project became finished this weekend. Brother came over today and we were able to enjoy company as the job in the bedroom became completed. I even had to clean rugs again sooner than I expected because of all these projects going on. I am exhausted. I guess it is good as these jobs are off the honey-do list anyway.

Sleep well.

:wave2: Ya Ya Family! So nice that I can bring the laptop from work sometimes and keep up with ya'll.

Kimmie-it wasn't me! I'm a K-Mart hussy these days :teeth:
Hope puppers is doing ok.

Elaine-dinner sounded scrumptious! We went to a place tonight called Legal Seafood very yummy, but very expensive. Guess what? It was on RoseMary Street! How neat, huh?

Nancy- I'm game for tatoo and monster movie night. Already been thinking about the next one. LOL!

Tara-Hope you feel better soon.

Where's Lizzie Borden? Miss you :(

Todd-sorry you lost your game.

:wave2: Tina, another trip to DL sounds like fun.

Lily, how's Ted doing? Better I hope.

Hey Suzanne! Sorry to hear you might be having some surgery but, hopefully that will help.

Sherry, probably didn't miss much not getting to see Richard. Went to see him in concert some years ago. I was a big fan but, I thought he did a lousy concert. Not very personable and not audience friendly if you know what I mean. Oh and Cameron had a harmonica once. It got lost ;) .

JRKaren, You love the $$$$$. That's what I keep trying to tell myself.

Hi Amanda. Glad to see you check in.

Wish you guys with that cool weather would send some of it this way. Well, 5:00 a.m will be here way too soon.

 puckerup: :rose:

Morning all! Nice and chilly this morning (got my gloves out  ) and I am just hoping the frost stays away until I get the garage next week ::yes:: I should've just shut up and switched this week w/o telling Luis that he has one more left there (we switch the garage ever 6 months)

Suzanne, best of luck to you with that leg of yours. Will the surgery keep you "out of comission" for long?

Shhh... Lily, if we send them our cold, we can warm up here ;) Sorry you weren't able to get your stuff done though.

Rose Mary, that is too cool that the place you went to was on RoseMary :teeth: Take it easy down there and I do hope it cools off a little for you!!

:wave2: Hi Sherry!

Just a quick check-in....woke to sinus issues this morning. Mind is in a fog.

Have a great day everyone!

John, how is Quaker Steak? There's one by mom's that beckons me with the wings...

Suzanne - The wings (and ribs) are fantastic. So many choices of sauces. We ordered "medium" yesterday and were disappointed at how mild it was. We eat a lot of wings with traditional Buffalo sauce, so medium was not enough. Our waitress brought us a side of "hot" and that did the trick. We had a half rack of baby back ribs as an appetizer (with Louisiana Licker sauce). They were better than the ribs we usually get a Damons (which, up until yesterday, was my favorite place for ribs).

And even their desserts are great. We had an apple-cinnamon dessert with vanilla ice cream and fried pieces of pita bread. Dr. Atkins would have NOT approved of this one.

In the past I have not been overly impressed with Quaker Steak, possibly because their burgers are just so-so. Stick with the wings and ribs and I think that you will have a much more enjoyable culinary experience.
