Evening, all! Thank you for all the well wishes!!!!!
I'm here, I"m fine. Surgery went well. I had the best team working on me, full of jokes-anesthesieologist took my info well, was cracking the jokes the whole time. At one point, he said "this injection in xanax to empty your stomach" and I replied "hopefully, not on the table". Got a laugh out of all of them. Later on, he said he was injecting Jaegermeister, and I said "I only want it fresh out of the freezer"...then I asked for the amaretto injection!
When my doctor (who oozes southern charm) came in, I told him I was gonna put a wal mart smiley sticker on the leg he was operating on and a mister yuck on the other, but thought better of it. I only remember counting back to 8 (from 10), and darn, the meds didn't mess me up so bad!
Ed dropped me off and brought the boys to school, then came back. By the time he got there, I'd already been in surgery for a few minutes. The team in surgery prep asked if I'm always this funny and relaxed (my bp is always close to 110/70 and I was within 5 each time, through surgery, then it dipped to 101/56 after).
The good part in all of this is that they didn't take the whole vein, just from the knee down. I'd told them I normally get as white as a sheet, so don't hold me in post op all day (I'm really fair skinned and avoid the sun). They listened. Got home and napped on the couch until 6, then we went to get my painkillers, dinner at Fridays and the supermarket for sodas (extremely thirsty today). Moving around pretty good, though it hurts to bend my knee, as it stretches the incision just below it quite a bit.
Nancy, the flip flops came in very handy today-I wasnt sure how low on the ankle the incision would be, so I wore those! Kinda weird to be able to do that, though! Kinda bummed that the next leg repair will be done by another team-this one was great, guess a lot has to do with it being a teaching hospital.
Karen, sounds like you're a candidate for a cpap machine there. Hope they get your oxygen levels up when you sleep. If they get your oxygen level stabilized, then the pulse won't race trying to get more into you in the morning (yes, I've got too much background with that stuff!) Okay, read your update-trust me, the machine isn't that bad-it worked great for Mom#2. She had levels like yours, too. Hang in there, you'll find that this is a GOOD THING, just doesn't look like it right now.
Lainey, smart wife, not evil! Every woman needs a LBD!
Amanda, I like the way you think! If you don't find your spoons, let me know-I have to buy Kevin pants and will hit the mall on Monday. The local mall has a really good cooking store that I MUST visit each time I'm there.
Caroline, I'd graciously accept it, and ignore any 'strings' that may be attached.
Those necklaces are soo pretty. The next sparkly I'm looking for comes for the 10 year-he knows it, and is prepared-even had me try one on at the jewelers when I had my engagement ring prepared. Got two years to save for it, lol!
Any

yayas are welcome to Casa de Suzanne anytime. We love having company!
Tara, love that picture of the boys. Jar always has the same twinkle in his eyes as Kevin, as if he's about to do something!
Congrats, Paula! 500! You got there pretty quick, too! Yummy, hummus...oooh I actually have time to make that this week. When the Wegman's opened (that's like 2 miles from Bethie) they had a hummus bar...it was sooo nice to have.
Nancy, thanks for the heads up on the basket exchange...I think I've got some goodies that have been squirreled away for a while! I even picked up something in Gainesville, just in case I get one particular yaya. If not, she'll get it when she comes to visit next time!
Caroline, glad that you made your decision about the gift.
JRKaren, Sorry for you having to work. Had that happen before, too. Offer always stands to come down and thaw out. We've been pricing airfare for California, and geez, flights to/from Tampa are cheaper than Orlando-whodahthunkit?
Liz, bravo for training, girlfriend. Made the decision to start Curves once the doctor gives me the all clear. I need structured exersize. When I had classes at the Y, I was sooo good.
Stacey, yay, you've come this far and he doesn't know! Enjoy the weekend and spending time with the family!
Hi to all I missed, you'll see me around quite a bit the next week--if the vicodin keeps doing what it's been doing, I may take nap requests-but I'm holding off on that list right now.
