ok so off I go...not sure if I will make it here tomorrow night or not...we may go back to grandmas and grandpas and play cards after dinner..

have a wonderful day !!!

Evening, all! Thank you for all the well wishes!!!!!

I'm here, I"m fine. Surgery went well. I had the best team working on me, full of jokes-anesthesieologist took my info well, was cracking the jokes the whole time. At one point, he said "this injection in xanax to empty your stomach" and I replied "hopefully, not on the table". Got a laugh out of all of them. Later on, he said he was injecting Jaegermeister, and I said "I only want it fresh out of the freezer"...then I asked for the amaretto injection!

When my doctor (who oozes southern charm) came in, I told him I was gonna put a wal mart smiley sticker on the leg he was operating on and a mister yuck on the other, but thought better of it. I only remember counting back to 8 (from 10), and darn, the meds didn't mess me up so bad!

Ed dropped me off and brought the boys to school, then came back. By the time he got there, I'd already been in surgery for a few minutes. The team in surgery prep asked if I'm always this funny and relaxed (my bp is always close to 110/70 and I was within 5 each time, through surgery, then it dipped to 101/56 after).

The good part in all of this is that they didn't take the whole vein, just from the knee down. I'd told them I normally get as white as a sheet, so don't hold me in post op all day (I'm really fair skinned and avoid the sun). They listened. Got home and napped on the couch until 6, then we went to get my painkillers, dinner at Fridays and the supermarket for sodas (extremely thirsty today). Moving around pretty good, though it hurts to bend my knee, as it stretches the incision just below it quite a bit.

Nancy, the flip flops came in very handy today-I wasnt sure how low on the ankle the incision would be, so I wore those! Kinda weird to be able to do that, though! Kinda bummed that the next leg repair will be done by another team-this one was great, guess a lot has to do with it being a teaching hospital.

Karen, sounds like you're a candidate for a cpap machine there. Hope they get your oxygen levels up when you sleep. If they get your oxygen level stabilized, then the pulse won't race trying to get more into you in the morning (yes, I've got too much background with that stuff!) Okay, read your update-trust me, the machine isn't that bad-it worked great for Mom#2. She had levels like yours, too. Hang in there, you'll find that this is a GOOD THING, just doesn't look like it right now.

Lainey, smart wife, not evil! Every woman needs a LBD!

Amanda, I like the way you think! If you don't find your spoons, let me know-I have to buy Kevin pants and will hit the mall on Monday. The local mall has a really good cooking store that I MUST visit each time I'm there.

Caroline, I'd graciously accept it, and ignore any 'strings' that may be attached.

Those necklaces are soo pretty. The next sparkly I'm looking for comes for the 10 year-he knows it, and is prepared-even had me try one on at the jewelers when I had my engagement ring prepared. Got two years to save for it, lol!

Any :cold: yayas are welcome to Casa de Suzanne anytime. We love having company!

Tara, love that picture of the boys. Jar always has the same twinkle in his eyes as Kevin, as if he's about to do something!

Congrats, Paula! 500! You got there pretty quick, too! Yummy, hummus...oooh I actually have time to make that this week. When the Wegman's opened (that's like 2 miles from Bethie) they had a hummus bar...it was sooo nice to have.

Nancy, thanks for the heads up on the basket exchange...I think I've got some goodies that have been squirreled away for a while! I even picked up something in Gainesville, just in case I get one particular yaya. If not, she'll get it when she comes to visit next time!

Caroline, glad that you made your decision about the gift.

JRKaren, Sorry for you having to work. Had that happen before, too. Offer always stands to come down and thaw out. We've been pricing airfare for California, and geez, flights to/from Tampa are cheaper than Orlando-whodahthunkit?

Liz, bravo for training, girlfriend. Made the decision to start Curves once the doctor gives me the all clear. I need structured exersize. When I had classes at the Y, I was sooo good.

Stacey, yay, you've come this far and he doesn't know! Enjoy the weekend and spending time with the family!

Hi to all I missed, you'll see me around quite a bit the next week--if the vicodin keeps doing what it's been doing, I may take nap requests-but I'm holding off on that list right now.

Suzanne

Suzanne....glad to hear the surgery went well. Take it easy now.

Karen....c-pap's are wonderful!! It saved my marriage!!

Good night all......Christin came by today and took one of the cats with her. We'll see how that goes. I miss her already....the cat ;)

Quick mental note to self: DO NOT DRINK PEPSI AT 10:30 PM!! :faint:
Especially if you don't want to be     all oover the place at 2:00 am. :rolleyes2

Suzanne - glad to hear the surgery went well!! :)

It is currently -2º here. :cold:

Morning All,

Im in a crabby cranky sullen mood this morning so sorry if this is short. I'm being very very very good about not smoking and needless to say it's taking it's toll. No slipping up, no cheating. I can't, especially faced with those test results. They are suggesting just plain oxygen instead of a Bipap or CPap machine or at least thats what the pulmonologist said yesterday. I would give anything to stay home today and hide under the bed but I can't. I have typing to do and I know my boss is going to stress me out by giving it to me late again and expecting me to get it done by 2. He does this constantly causing me to lose my lunchtime to get it finished. I don't need the stress today. Im worried actually today I would be more inclined to snap at him about it. Gonna have to keep my mouth closed today.

Suzanne I am so glad the surgery went so well and that you are feeling so well after it!!!! YEA!!!!! I was praying for you all day yesterday. Try and take it easy though. You dont want to do too much. HUGS sweetie.

Good Morning!

Suzanne, so glad to hear surgery went so well.

Oldest DS has no school today. It is "shadowing" day and he is going to shadow my mom at work.

Good morning everyone!

Suzanne, glad to hear that the surgery went well, and you are already moving around. Very cool!

Pam, sorry you drank pepsi late and that you were     at 2:00 a.m. Did you try whacking yourself on the head with a sledgehammer. That would have put you to sleep ;) (Disclaimer: Don't try that at home. That is a stunt to be tried only by trained professionals).

Karen, Hoping everything turns out all right for you. Hang in there.

Well, I supposed I should finish getting ready for work. Today is going to be a better day because I'm going to make it a better day :)

Karen

Shaping up to be a lovely day. I just told dh if he couldnt stand the heat to go stay with his parents. I got crabby and instead of just realizing the source of it and dealing with it he yelled back at me. Oh that was oh so helpful. I can see he is gonna be a hinderance to me instead of a help. I warned him how cranky and crabby I get and that Im liable to yell. He was WARNED and told me he would understand and be helpful to me. Yeah right.

Morning Sherry. Morning Karen.

Karen do you mind having a good day for me too?? LOL!!!!

Morning all.....wish I was home in bed  Had a hard time getting up this morning.

Todd's Mom comes tonight and stays till Sunday. I really need to get to the grocery store...hope she eats well before she comes;)

Went to a retirement dinner last night. I was really nice. Although the restaurant was a bit on the pricey side for me. I scoop of Grater's ice cream was 4.95....I can get more than that if I go to Grater's myself. I have to say it was tempting since I picked one of the cheapest things off the menu.

Morning Sherry, Karen and JRKaren!

Suzanne...glad everything went well for you.

Pam...Soda does that to me also...Todd hides it;)

Nancy...brownies sound good. May have to try making them this weekend. How did the taste testing go?

Morning all! I had a really lousy day yesterday and wound up falling asleep with The OC was on... that was around 8:15... woke up at 9 to turn the computer off and fell asleep and stayed that way most of the night. I think I really needed that :p

Nancy, that toothbrush set is so cute!!!! Have fun planning everything for the summer. I think I am lucky and this year I won't have anywhere to go. The only thing on the agenda will be singing at a friend's wedding. I like free time like that! Oh and let me look at home for past exchange surveys... I probably have a couple left over somewhere you can look off of.

Karen, sorry that you had to rush on something you didn't need to. And good luck with the oxygen... hopefully you can be okay with your lungs in the future. Good luck today though!

Caroline, glad you figured out what to do. Yep, I agree that sending it back would be petty and playing into the game. I have some odd family members and as long as I remember to ignore half of what they do, I can deal with them okay.
I'll try to get pics of us all dressed up for the dinner... I think I am throwing in one or two pair of pants I might wear at work just in case. Only bad thing is if I do that, my shoe count goes up to 6 pairs... I might have to try out pants to make sure they won't drag (or at least too badly) when I wear shorter heels.

JRKaren, I will say that I am sorry you had to work, but at least your birthday didn't sound too bad. This is the first time I will be out of town on mine and not working. Kind of looking forward to it.

Liz, kick the computer... it might help!

Tara, good for you with going with the sleazy one ;) However, I never saw you as an old fart at all. Sorry it wasn't quite what you hoped it to be!

Stacy, sounds like you have a great weekend in store for you! Enjoy it!!!

Suzanne, so glad that everything went so well with your surgery. I was thinking about you all day! What a fun sounding team you had there working on you. I hope your recovery goes well. I agree, everyone needs a LBD... and since I gave my other one away, it feels good to have this one.

Pammy was  all night long? What I wouldn't give to see that one in person ;)

Sherry, I remember doing that shadowing when I was in middle school. I do hope he has fun there!

Amanda, that is expensive!!! You could have gotten a whole pint (well a hair more) for that price. Glad everything was nice though.

Need to get some things at work together for when I leave. Not much should be going on while I am gone, but I like it as together as possible before I take off.

Wow. I just realized we're at 300 pages. We talk too much. ;)

Hi Elaine. Hi Amanda.

JellyrollsKaren

Morning all! No :sunny: here today. Very windy, rain to come in about noon and just dreary for the next couple days. Nor'easters are not nice BUT, not as bad as the cold & snow would be :teeth: . I'm not complaining. Had the day scheduled off to go to Disney but, I think I'm stayin' home and recuperating some more. This bronchitis is kickin' my rear! BUT, I do think a trip to the mall with the BAB store may be in order. Hope needs some new clothes  of course, I may be able to find a little something for myself.

Elaine-Glad you got some rest I am sure it was much needed. Gotta be ready for all the fun of your cruise.

TARA YOU are not an old fart. If you were, then I would be an even OLDER fart and I don't wanna be SO THERE!

JRKaren-sorry you had to work on your b'day.
Suzanne-so glad to hear the surgery went well and is over. Now don't do too much!
Nancy-I love peanut butter and you would not believe how bad I've been craving brownies :lovestruc . Can't wait for the spring exchange. I have a little something that needs to be passed along for aother lucky YaYa to enjoy ;) .
Pam- Did ya at least get alot done when you were all  ?

Well, traffic mess ups have already started due to the Super Bowl stuff coming to town. ESPN tractor trailer jackknifed on one of the major bridges this morning. Hope we aren't in for a week of that kind of traffic mess ups :rolleyes2
:wave2: to everyone I didn't specifically address. Hope everyone has a great day.
 puckerup: :rose:

Mornin' - it's a balmy -4 degrees here right now. :cold:
We're on a 2 hour school delay. I looooove winter. :rolleyes2

Not a darn thing! All I did was      Dh had just gotten home from a business trip to Nashville - he wasn't real happy with me! :rolleyes1

Morning, all. Sleep was not the best, as I like to sleep on my side. Once the Vicodin wore off, I kept waking up. I think there's a nap on the couch in my future.

Rosemary, I'm offering the same deal to you...If you need to get outta Dodge next weekend... :)

Karen, sounds like you need an early lunch today! Hang in there, the first three to four weeks are rough. I grew up in a house full of smokers (that's why MY lungs are so damaged), and I've watched them all go through the quiting thing. We all gave them wide berths for almost a month. Unfortunately, most of them are still smoking. Watching my dad go through all that he did had NO EFFECT whatsoever. Stupid.

Lainey, I have an incentive LBD in my closet. Bought it at Old Navy for 10 bucks right before I had Kevin. Never got a chance to wear it before I stopped nursing (and gained a bunch of weight). I'll be a size 8 again, I know it. Enjoy that cruise and your Birthday!

Pam, I wish soda kept me up. Only things that work are Coffee and Jolt Soda. I took a bunch of NoDoz the first semester of college, and I still fell asleep!

Sherry, sounds like your son's going to have some fun today. Thanks for the well wishes.

Amanda, enjoy the time with Todd's mom...sounds like a pizza night to me! Good thing about my leg is that it might get Mom to come over here for a change. If she and my step dad come over, they'll be shocked at how far the house has come!

This is gonna be a dangerous week, I can see it now. I've bid on 4 Mary Poppins things so far-good thing the friends I've been picking stuff up for at WDW pay pal me money, so I've got the money to pay for most of it already stashed away! I've got to take pictures of the toppers and other stuff I want to auction. Thinking that the Mardi Gras masks are all going away, 'cept for the ones my dad bought me.

Naps, anyone?

Suzanne

Good morning everyone!! When I got up at 6:45 my outdoor thermometer and weatherbug said -17 - yes - that's negative 17 - 17 degrees below zero....

Thankfully no frozen pipes - off to take a hot shower and I'll check back later.

p.s. I thought the hummus was disgusting but I am known in my house as the fussiest eater of all times.

:goodvibes

Okay i'll confess I have heard of Hummus and Couscous but I dont have a clue what either of those are.
Suzanne--glad your surgery went well and sorry you didnt sleep that great. Vicodin can be your best friend sometime :teeth:
Karen--I have never smoked because I grew up in a house of smokers and I hated it. They had a hard time giving it up. My grandma finally did last year at age 75 because she had a really bad case of bronchitis and she couldnt breathe. She hasnt smoked one since and I can tell Im very suprised she didnt take it up again. Good Luck on quitting!!
JRKaren--oh surrrrrre come to Texas to see Krista or kathy but not me :confused3 Just because you would have 2 kids fighting right over your head, one hiding from you and yet another throwing things at you. I dont understand :rolleyes1
Sherry--Didnt mean to ignore you yesterday. After having a plumber our Tues to FIX my toilets yesterday the upstairs toilet overflowed, flooding that bathroom. So had to get their butts back out here. Ohhh the Apprentice is having auditions here,,,saw that on TV this am.
Hi Amanda, Elaine, Pam--who I just found out has been having problems expressing herself. Im kind of scared to think what she HADNT been able to express :hyper2:
Hi Nancy, DisneyfanRI  :grouphug:

300 pages? Oops I never did move us, did I? :o

Rose Mary, I hope you have fun at the mall and that you are feeling even better soon. And yep, I sure did need the rest!

Pammy, with all that energy one would have expected your husband to be happier :rolleyes1 Err... I mean... but stay warm!

Suzanne, I'll take a nap. Whenever you want. And I do bet some day you'll get into that LBD hanging in the closet. Once I started it wasn't too hard, it's a good incentive to get to as well. I have a black skirt that I am dying to get into... it buttons now, but still a wee bit tight. If I can ever get that to fit, it'll be something I wore in HS my junior year. I remember having to buy it for orchestra since I didn't own a lot of nice black items back then.

Pam, that's cold... we are "warm" today compared to you at 9° out... windchills put us below zero though.

Deena, hummus is kind of a spread/paste made out of chickpeas or garbanzo beans (usually one of those two). Some people put flavor with tons of garlic or other herbs. You spread it on bread or the like. Couscous is wonderful!!! It comes from smolina flour. It is a grain and kind of a good rice replacement. I have had it several times at Epcot in Morocco!
