Back from Ricks "viewing". I saw so many people I haven't seen in ages...it was nice seeing them...but sad. I talked to his mom and she told me again how she always told him he should have married me!! hehehe We were never anywhere close to that idea but it is nice to be remembered so fondly.

Turns out the ME said he had a 75% blockage of his heart and it just gave out on him. He was at home alone and it took a couple of days before anyone found him. It is so hard to believe that some one who never drank, smoked, or ate badly could have had something like this wrong with him. I just am floored that this could happen.

Rick will be cremated this evening and then at 3 tomorrow afternoon we are going to meet at the park where he used to run cross country. Some of his ashes will be put into the 32 balloons that will be released and then his parents will take the rest to the Outer Banks this summer to leave him where he always enjoyed being!!

sorry for the EIOP. I'm gonna call it a night. I'm pretty tired. I need to look for pictures to take with me tomorrow...we are celebrating...boy do we have a lot of Rick stories!! hehehe

Evening all, enjoying some yummy wine. I uploaded a bunch of pictures to the Image station account (I've had it for a long time, but the lack of broadband prevented uploading)

Anyway, I can actually post picture of those tables, since I went back and took some. The table is pretty new, so they don't have a pretty image on the store's website yet.

Nancy, next time we'll plan the girls trip around you ;)
[/font]

:hyper: That is an idea I like!!! But I will have a guy with me.....we will make some girl only time though....and when I go I will have an AP, so who knows....3, 4, 5 trips that year ;)

 Tara.

Beth...wow!! I'm impressed that was some ketchup job!!
Hope we see you around more often.

tired Yaya here....off to bed with a book. VERY busy weekend coming up.

Hello all my fellow Ya Yas... Hope all is well or at least getting better for all of you.. :grouphug:

This morning it was 70 degrees :umbrella: and by 2 pm it was snowing.. :earseek: I think Mother Nature was a little confused or hung over..either way..

Caroline -- DH's 35th Birthday is on the 28th and I am throwing him a surprise party on the 29th. But he is sooooo nosey it's getting harder to keep quiet.

which also then brings me down to Liz

Liz-- Nope, no work for me. I was actually out and about doing all the things for the party I can't do when DH gets home..and found out tonight DH may be getting home tomorrow instead of sunday.. :moped:

Dee-- why so quiet, I told you this is a Chatty Group, so kick it into high gear

Tara-- my ex sent my son home with a bandaid when he needed 5 stitches, so I kinda understand your frustrations with the ex....Thank goodness for me, DS hardly ever sees him now that he is older and really sees his "father" for what he is...My DH is my DS "Dad" ever since the adoption.. :cool1:

ok I think I had this day VERY easy for Ketchup...

Took this one a very long time ago, but this is for Pam! Found it on the back of a pickup truck in the Costco parking lot.

Liz--itinerary-- ..no comment..

Beth--snow? you guys are sure to get some yet this year... :umbrella:

Don't know if Amanda posted yet or not...The knot on Mandys throat is from Strep.. ..She has had this since her birthday..stupid doctor..she's not going to any doctor except for hers from now on...He gave her a shot and some antibiotics and Cassie got some medicine too just in case...
She was upset because she has to stay home with me tomorrow..
It'll be a day of complete goofing off... :cool1:

Beth & Liz..:worship: on those ketchups..

Everyone else..

And here are some yaya friends

Let me help you out Suzanne..

Never mind...you fixed it... :flower1: :badpc:

:grouphug: for you Tara.....hope you are able to celebrate Rick tomorrow. I am sure that must be incredibly bittersweet.

Suzanne, LOVE the pics!! The table is awesome. Love teh detail...and Ed's lime green shirt!!

Todd, sorry to hear about Mandy. That is AWFUL that she has been sick ofr so long. Hope she is feeling better soon, and that Cassie doesn't get it. Hopefully, after all this time she won't. Get busy on that itinerary!! You have some planning to do.........sure hope Amanda didn't hear that!!

WELCOME HOME LILY!!!!!! GREAT JOB!!! WAY TO GO!!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Pfish....good luck with your birthday party planning. I did a 40th surprize party for my SO.....that was the hardest secret I have EVER had to keep. Not easy....especially when you know they really don't want one. But I really do thing that he really did appreciate it when it was all said and done.

Well, I am going to call it a night. I guess I have read it all. Of course if I sleep in bit....there will be 100 more pages to read!!!

Nighty night!!

Liz--Thanks I'll need it. dh HATES surprises and he will probably kill me but his Grandparents are both in their 80's and Grandpa is slowly not doing so well so I figured his 40th may be too late to have almost the whole family together.

We are having a 2nd party here at the house for the other side of the family and the one's that can't make it Saturday.

so DH will be plenty surprised!!! :earseek:

ok so this one is about me

i just noticed my automatic tag just changed to Dis Cast Member, I guess because I am now over 500 posts..

:cheer2:

Hi Ya Yas! I'm home! I've been over on the WISH board trying to see what was posted about the Marathon this evening. It is so much later than I ever expected. Time does fly when you are on the computer. I will post tomorrow. It was a great experience and I was able to complete the 1/2 marathon.

Morning All,

Sorry I have been MIA but with the board moving so fast now Im finding it hard to find the time to keep up with it and post. I cannot read nor post from work anymore so I have to do it when I get home and there is just so much to do around here and then Im tired.

I have been getting some me time lately and that has been nice. Dh has been taking the boys to BBall practice and each wants to go when the other practices so that leaves mom home alone......hehehehehehehehehhee. It's been nice. I find little things to do, putter, and just relax. I have needed it.

Physically Im doing better. Today is my last Prednisone pill. Thank Heavens. Work has been difficult on this stuff since it makes me so hyper. I got in trouble with my boss last week because I am behind and for taking walks when I shouldnt.....but I just couldnt sit still. He said he understood but it had to change. Hopefully now that Im off this stuff I will calm down again and be able to get back on track the way I need to. This is also why I cant read or post from work. If I got caught OH NELLIE would there be trouble. This is the best job and best doctor I have ever worked for and I have been with the same practice for 18 years....though not the same doctor...this one bought the practice in 2001 when our original boss died. I don't want to risk this job in the least bit nor make this boss mad at me for any reason.

Ping and Pong got their report cards yesterday. Ping made Gold Honor Roll again this semester and I have been cordially invited to the awards ceremony next Wednesday. I am so very proud of him. He works so hard. He is smart but he also has to overcome his ADHD to get where he is so its especially sweet for him to get this award. Pong did very well on his report card too. They are still in the 1,2,3 stage of getting grades. He got a lot more 1's this time and on his social skills/study skills he didn't get any 3's this time!!!! Pong is also ADHD and this is just so sweet for him too. I'm just so proud of both of them

Crockpot cooking has been going wonderfully!!! I can't tell you how much of a difference it has made in our quality family time because dinner is ready when we get home and we can all just sit together and eat instead of someone being in the kitchen for an hour or more cooking and everyone else scattered through the house. It's actually also been great with our hectic schedules with BBall because we can sit and eat before practice quietly, nicely, calmly. There is no chaos of trying to prepare a dinner in a short amount of time. I wish I had discovered this much much sooner.

LILY WELCOME HOME!!!!!!!!! Congrats on the Marathon!!!!! I am soooooooo proud of you!!!!!! I can't wait to hear all about it!!!!!

Tara my heart goes out to you today sweetie. I know today is going to be hard but know that we are all with you in spirit. If you need a friend or a shoulder or anything call me okay?? Do you have my cellphone number?? If you don't PM me and I will give it to you.

Nancy congrats on finding an apt for Christian and on her getting that job!!!! I also vote for Legos go in Christians room. The room built should be for you and you alone as it was originally planned as. That room is just too small for two separate projects going on at the same time nor should you have to share YOUR room LOL!!!

Welcome to all the Newbies!!!! Glad to have you aboard!!!!

Amanda and Todd I am SO sorry Mandy was misdiagnosed for so long. Poor baby has had STREP all this time. Poor thing. Im glad your doc did come up with what it was and also gave you something for Cassie should she come down with it. Please give Mandy a hug for me.

Caroline YEA!!! on getting all that stuff into the schools and that you are starting to hear back from them. I wish Miami would treat you better. It's such a good school and I would love having you down here.

Kristy. I hope you are feeling better. Poor kiddo nothing worse than the stomach yucckies. Im glad school is going well. Thanks for checking into the Venison for me. I really appreciate it a lot. Never fear BAB obsessions will not end for me either. I have a bear I need to get some new duds for LOL.

Sherry YEA!!!!!!! WOOOOOO HOOOOOOOO on the good news about your SIL and the BABY!!!!! I am sooooooooo happy for you all!!!

Deena this may only be the tip of the iceburg if your little one has a nose "thing" like my eldest did. Mine has stuffed every imaginable thing up there. I can't tell you the countless times I had been called to remove things from his nose...beads, paper, styrofoam. The best one was the Penny up in Disneyworld. Dh had to remove that one and he was NINE at the time he did that!!!! You've got a long road ahead of you ROFL!!!!!

Suzanne I LOVE that dining room set. Is that at a local store or at a chain store?? I would love to get a new set for my dining room and that set would be just so kewl in there. When is your surgery sweetie?? I have been thinking about that and praying all week for you.

Bethie have a WONDERFUL weekend with your sweetie. Im glad you were able to get so much done that you can have just some you time together. Battlestar Galactica has been being watched religiously here also. Dh is enthralled with it and records it on the TIVO like thing we have from the cable company.

Elaine I might need to pick your brain next August when Ping starts with the international baccalauret program because he will have to take spanish. I can count to ten and that's about it ROFL. He has his choice of either spanish or french and I think living in South Florida spanish would be the better choice for him. We can always get him computer programs to learn the other languages he wants to learn....like german and french.

Kimmie how is homeschooling going?? Is Cam feeling better?? BTW if you ever need anything for the homeschooling we have an excellent store down here and I would be glad to check and see if they have or can get anything you need and have them ship it to you.

JRKaren Im sorry you had such a hard time last week with your birthday. Firsts are hard. Seconds arent a lot easier but it will come in time sweetie. HUGS to you and prayers of comfort.

Pammykins how goes things girlie??? Love having your baby home for the weekends from school?? I bet she is loving it!!!!

Liz how goes it on the job front? I have been saying prayers for you to find just the right thing. I just wanted to tell you that your posts always make me smile. You are so upbeat and so cute!!! I can't help but smile.

Tina come out come out wherever you are!!!!!! We miss you!!!!

SSB how is the back doing sweetie?? Taking it easy I hope!!!

Okay a little bio on me. I dont post real personal stuff on here so my kids names are not really Ping and Pong ROFL!!!!

Im original Karen to the thread not to be confused with JR Karen, TLinden. I am 42 years old and have been married to my sweetie for going on 22 years. We have two boys Ping who just turned 11 yesterday, and Pong 6.5. We live in South Florida about 3 hours south of Disney. We are Disney fans big time. We are very involved in our church and are currently doing Upwards Basketball, Team Kid, and Kids Church which keeps us very busy during the week and weekends LOL. Our only off days are Monday's and Friday's.

I hope hope hope I got everyone. I was trying. If I missed you it was totally unintentional and ya know I love ya.

ROFL that post only took 2.5 hours to write. I started it at 4 AM hehehehehehehe

BTW

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ALL THAT I MISSED THIS WEEK.

I did think of you all but didn't get a chance to post my best wishes that this year be everything you want it to be. Hope your birthday's were wonderful.

Good morning everyone!

Oh, just to set the record straight, my birthday isn't for another couple of weeks. My office does a birthday celebration once a month in the middle of the month. So, they had a cake for me on Wednesday.

Suzanne, I really like that table. It's very cool. I like that it's a table for eight, but it's square instead of rectangular. It seems a lot more cozy. Nice pictures from the Yaya meet. I was demonstrating how I could clean my nose with my tongue in that one :)

Lily, welcome home! Congrats on finishing the half marathon! I can't wait to hear about all the details of your trip.

Karen, good to see you back around here! Congrats to Ping on making gold honor roll! Yay Ping!

Stacy, congrats on making it to DIS cast member. I like the new automatic tags they have better than the old ones.

Todd, sorry to hear that Mandy has strep and it took so long to diagnosis it. I hope she is feeling better real soon. Give her  for us

I want to meet Nancy. I want to meet Nancy. When there is a Yaya Disney meet that Nancy's going to be at, I'll make sure I'm there too :)

Tara, I hope that today is a wonderful celebration of Rick's life with happy tears from all of the wonderful memories everyone has of him :)

Elaine, a Ghiardelli brownie sundae? Yummmmmmmm. I had a yummy caramel sundae there when I went there with Beth, Lily, and Ted last month :)

Well, kids, have a great day!

JellyrollsKaren

Happy Saturday morning! Hope most of you are still snuggled in bed!

I see our post rate hasn't slowed down any. We're out of control in here! :teeth: At least I'm at work today, so I have more time to keep an eye on things (heehee). It's going to be a looooong day today, I think. I woke up extra early, came into work about 1/2 an hour early, and am already starting to drag a bit. And it's quiet as a tomb in here. Ah well, I'll break out the headphones soon and all will be well. I'm back on the Ya Ya losin' weight band wagon as of today. I made myself a 'challenge' from now until Feb 15th, , so we'll see how that goes.

Nancy, what I did with my 10 boxes of stuffed animals was leave them at my parents' house until they moved. Mind you, I took 3 or 4 boxes with me, plus all the ones I've bought since then. Congratulations to Christin on the Science Center job. Even if she doesn't want to keep it long term, it will look nice on her resume when she's looking for something else. I'm going to check out Penzey's after ketchup, too.

Susie, ketchuping is my Ya Ya super-power, I guess. Look for me flying over the thread in red tights with a tomato on my cape. ;) I'm still only Ketchup Girl to Liz's Ketchup Woman, though, heh. Not to mention Beth's Ultra Ketchup Woman. Sounds like you had a great Friday night. I think my Sunday night will be like that, since I'm off Monday. Sounds like a plan.

Elaine, that's a fancy looking yurt. They have those that you can rent around here in some of the provincial parks, but they're just covered with tarps. I can't seem to get Scott interested for some reason. ("Wanna spend Hallowe'en in a Yurt?" "Umm ... no?" ;) ). Glad dinner was good. Hope you're in full relaxation mode now.

JRKaren, I mentioned to Scott about maybe going to not meet you in May. He seemed interested. Actually, he seemed confused. I think it was Elaine's yurt that threw him. Poor guy.

Liz, I managed to mop off the keyboard. It's sticky but functional. I'll have to see if LUSH has a keyboard conditioner next time I'm in there. ;)

Beth, I might be up for a Ya Ya invasion in May. Scott would sulk if he couldn't go though. If you see someone following around after JRKaren, you'll know we made it. :teeth: I think a keyboard cover may be in order (although I am looking forward to a carbonated sinus treatment). How was Battlestar Gallactica?

Tara, I'm glad the viewing went well. That must have been hard. I'm glad it jogged some good memories for you as well. Scary that he never seemed ill and had a 75% blockage. I guess you just never really know.

Suzanne, that's a really pretty table. What store is that from? I loved the Ya Ya pictures!

Amanda and Todd, I'm glad Mandy finally has the right diagnosis. Hope she's feeling better really soon!

Stacy, good luck with keeping the party quiet. I think I've managed to ruin every surprise party every planned for me. Hope your DH isn't as nosy as I am. ;)

Lily! Welcome home! Congratulations on finishing the half! :cheer2: I'm looking forward to hearing details.

Karen, that was a major ketchup, there! Glad to hear you're done with the pred and that you're not posting in the middle of the night anymore (well, I miss talkin' to ya, but you should be sleeping! heehee). Hope things at work settle down - definitely don't want DIS getting you in your boss's bad books. Congrats to your kiddos on their good grades. That's great!

Speaking of work, I should probably get down to some. Coming in early put me a 1/2 hour ahead though. I wish it meant I could leave a 1/2 hour early. ;) Have a good Saturday, Ya Yas. Talk to you all later.

Morning!

Not even gonna attempt a ketchup this morning. :earseek:

Movie was cute. Lots of funny parts. Loved the flies, they were hilarious.

Morning, all.

Yay, Lily's back! Bravo for completing the half marathon!!!

To all asking about it, surgery's on the 27th. Less than two weeks to go.

I'll be offline Moday through Wednesday. I have the laptop, but we need to upgrade windows to put my wireless card in it, so I can't surf. Guess I will have a few books with me. The nice thing is that I won't live in the store this time-last trip to help a store involved being there from open to close.

The table is at Haverty's. I'm pretty sure they're just a Florida chain, but they have a website www.havertys.com.

Karen, yes it's gotten mothy in here-I can imagine what kinds of Ketchup I'll have to do after three days! I'll probably get on before I leave Monday morning!

Liz, I'm the one in the house with the lime green shirts-Disney Store had a bunch of Mickey, then Tink shirts in lime green, lol! I'm on vacation next week, woo hoo!

I need a score card, because I haven't figured out everyone's names yet!

Have a fun weekend, don't be too mothy.

Suzanne
