Still no call back from the pulmonologist and he is only there this morning and will not be in the rest of the week. I am not a happy camper at this point. I have called the office twice stressing that this same type of thing put me in the hospital last year. This is the same doctor who told me I was to come in immediately if this ever happens again....uh yeah right....try to get an appointment. I've put it off this long hoping I wouldn't have to nor would I have to deal with trying to deal with his staff and get an appointment. They wont even put me with one of the other doctors in the practice that I have also been to because MY doctor has to authorize it. Is this not rediculous???Im just sick and tired of being sick and tired and I just want help getting over this. Im sorry I have been so whiney about it. I just dont seem to be getting anywhere with it no matter what I do or dont do.

I've read all but not gonna ketchup right now. I think Karen and Caroline did a great job.

Mom is still in pain, but goes to the doc tomorrow to get it checked out an see if they can do anythign.

I officially have carpal tunnel syndrome. told me to get wrist braces and take motrin for 3 weeks and if it is still not better then he will send me to a hand specialist. If I can't sign then I'm pretty much screwed at work...and unfortunately virginia won't let you claim a repetitive injury as workman's comp. guess I'm gonna have trip on the steps or get my lights knocked out by a kid before I can get them to pay for me to be off work!! hehehe

Glad everyone is doing better. All the sickies need to feel better quick like so that they can get back to the task of dising!

Pam...I got a cookbook for Christmas and one of the first lines in the books is "under no circumstance should roadkill be used as an ingredient"!! I lmao when I read that one! I thought of you too!

Well it looks like a two cup day for me. One coffee didn't do it. I'd hop on the treadmill but it's still buried under 1200 empty Christmas boxes. Must talk to hubby about that. I feel extremely blimpy this week. Waddle waddle...

Saying a prayer for you Karen. I hope that dr. contacts you before he leaves. Cheetos to the coworker that dumped on you. I imagine karma will see to it that she is duly rewarded sometime in the future. Cam is hanging in there today. All in all, he's good, but is tired of dealing with the sore throat thing. Mom is improving every day. Yay! It's about time!

Caroline... ferrets?! Oh my!! They are the cutest things!!! I wish we could keep them as pets here. They look like they would be so much fun!! LOTR swords! Well... not on purpose... at least... I didn't mean to... but... well... Ahem, er... yeah. It all started when my husband gave Cam Hadafang for his birthday last year. This year, we decided to give him Legolas' knives and scabbards, and what I wasn't aware of at the time, was that Tom and Cam had secured Anduril for me. Guess I might as well run with this newest hobby and collect the rest of them now. Do you collect them Caroline?

Been lazing around most of the day... coughing seems to have stopped, and drinking tons of water seems to be working as well. I would imagine I'll be good to go for the weekend

Sherry, I hope your headache goes away soon!!! I think it's interesting that you took Aleve since that stuff gives me nasty headaches. Amazing how same meds work differently for others.

Karen, have you thought to just walk into the doc office? I know most places hate that, but if it is an emergency, I know our doc said to do that. They can more easily squeeze someone in that way. Good luck and get well soon!

Tara, thanks for the reminder to put the brace back on me I know for me, even slight support really helps my wrist. It can get really painful sometimes, so I feel for you. I do hope the motrin and brace will help you!!!

Kimmie, glad y'all are feeling better! Stinks to be sick over holidays.
You just mentioned the one thing that I love flavoring with but cannot take in person... onions. Thank goodness for Penzey's minced onions, because if one is near me and freshly cut, my eyes burn and I get an awful headache.

I am home and in my jammies. The pulmonologist called and said IN THE HOSPITAL to which I promptly said NO. I am now at home with strict orders to do nothing, up the prednisone to double what Im currently taking, do breathing treatments and rest. Thankfully the doc I work for was understanding and let me go home. I have to go in for a short time tomorrow otherwise he will call in my coworker which I do NOT want him to do. I only have to type a few reports and get them out and then I will come right back home. Going to the hospital at this point would only make matters worse. I dont sleep plus I would be exposed to even more junk. We are hoping that upping the dose of Prednisone orally will do the job so I dont have to get IV steroids. I have to call my regular doctor back on Thursday so he can advise me on how to titrate it back down again and to let him know how Im doing. Having been through many bouts of this type of thing thankfully I have the equipment I need at home to do the non IV sort of stuff like the breathing treatments. The one thing on my side right now and the reason I wasnt demanded in the hospital is that my O2 saturations are still in a decent range for what I have. I can check that at work with the equipment we have and have been keeping a very close eye on it.

Well it is off to the couch with me and off to sleep and/or watch really bad daytime TV ROFL.

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone for your kind words and your prayers, thoughts, encouragement and for putting up with my whining. I can't tell you how much all your words have meant to me. HUGS my dear friends.

Dh just came home from Bath and Body Works and brought me home just the most wonderful things!!! He got me the sugar scrub, pillow spray, a candle, foam bath, and glycerine soap all in Lavender my very most favorite!!! Dh said the kids helped a lot and the girl at B&BW helped him imensely too. He said she managed to get everything he got for 50 cents less than the GC and cash he went with to buy the stuff. He is going to call the number for B&BW and commend this lady highly. He said she was wonderful and was all over the store trying to help him out. He did REALLY well. I told him it was exactly what I would have picked out for myself had I gone and it was just the most perfect gift. He can shop for me anytime there and I told him if he wants to get me gifts for things that those are the types of things I like so I gave him more ideas for me. Tonight Im gonna take a nice long hot bathy with my candle burning and then spray my pillow and fall fast asleep. I can't wait!!!

Well back to bed with me. Just had some lunch, took some more meds and I better get back to resting.

Karen, do take care of yourself now... if the doctor wants you in the hospital, I would guess this is serious. Don't worry about work, family or anything... just yourself. Sounds like your DH did well too though

I had a conversation with Beth and Liz this evening. They had a fun day at the Children's Museum with little Karen, Todd, Amanda, Cassie, and Mandy. They told stories of Todd doing naughty things with magnetic dolls with eyes. Bad Todd--corrupting the young 'uns at the Indianapolis Children's Museum.

Tonight, Beth and Liz are going to the Bulls game. No word if they are taking little Karen. If they do, I hope they get her some nachos. Little Karen enjoys nachos when she is watching a sporting event.

I called today and booked the first night for my Nov./Dec. trip to Disney World through DVC. I'm booking it day by day so I can get a standard studio to save points. I'm planning on going Nov. 27th through Dec. 3 or 4th (before my AP expires).

Karen, you better be resting. Or we'll have to start a 24/7 Yaya watch until you are better.

Just went through my closet to find clothes that I could give to charity. Well, after plucking out some of my old (yet really nice looking) clothes, I realize I have nearly nothing left They are getting 3 full garbage bags full of an array of clothing. I suppose I'll need to go shopping soon.

Sherry, I am pretty sure I keep forgetting to say that I am so sorry that Junior's arm is so sore from the MRI. If I did say it, then forget me saying it now How is he doing now?

Karen, I don't have the dates in front of me, but I will be there the week after Thanksgiving. Probably will arrive on Sunday and leave Saturday. I found out Mousefest (which I usually don't do much with) will be my "usual" week again (right after TG and much preferable to me) so most people will be there then as well. I will be renewing though, since my AP does expire a bit early Then again, I hope to do multiple trips in 2006 so that doesn't matter too much.

Tired yaya, but I needed to get clothes in the dryer, so I have 3 more minutes left-enough for a ketchup!

Tara, what kind of splint are you using? Does it restrict the thumb? If it doesn't, you'll still be compressing the carpal nerve...I've got the best neoprene splints that will allow you to still sign. It's called a CMC restriction splint, and I need to get the phone number off them for you. Also be careful when nursing Ethan, when he's resting his head on your arm(just below the elbow), you're also compressing the carpal nerve. Yep, lots of practice here-5 wrist surgeries for anything you can think of that you've heard can happen to the wrist. I survived the carpal surgery very well-and if I ever need more wrist surgery, I'm flying up to the doctor in Maryland (good and VERY cute).

JRKaren, to add insult to DC, they closed for a HURRICANE! Do you know how far inland the city is? LOL!! What a joke, closed for a bit of heavy rain!

Karen, rest up. Get DH to go to the library and get you some good books and you stay on the couch. Yay on him getting you the BBW goodies you like! BTW, take a nap for me from 1-3, I'll need it!

Well, washer's done, and I need some shut eye! I'll ketchup the rest tomorrow!

Morning All,

Was up early again today. Doing a little bit better today. Im going into the office for just a bit to get some reports typed and then I will come home again. I've been doing some searching online this morning looking for a new bed for our bedroom. If I find one I will just send dh to get it. Anything has to be better than sleeping on the couch which I don't think is helping what I have. Im just going to have to learn to deal with dh's snoring.

We have 3 vacas scheduled for this year already; with Jan and Sep being WDW/cruise trip. Adding a 4th migh just well break the bank.

Well, I am off to work today. PD for my Boss please. Her FIL was put in hospice over the Christmas holiday and she got a call yesterday afternoon that they did not expect him to make it through the night. I will probably be alone today as my coworker is on vaca this week. (I have the BESTEST Boss and feel sad for her and family right now)

We made it back from Indy....we had a great time. Although we did have moments that weren't so great. Liz and Beth were both well behaved, except I did hear that once they were out of my 'range' that changed. Not sure what I will do with these children.

Sherry...glad Junior's arm is feeling better.

Tara...sorry to hear about the carpal tunnel. I had it during my pregnancy with Cassie...definitely not a fun thing.

Elaine...have fun shopping for new clothes. Hope you are feeling better.
