Welcome to the WISH Biggest Loser 7 Challenge

I haven't checked in or been online for a couple weeks now......

So busy with friends here in town, and getting ready for my cruise.....then last week cruising.

I got sick the last night of the cruise, and I am still weak and having a few problems now, so I shouldn't send in my weight this week, even though I seem to have lost 7 lbs....the 5 I gained before the cruise and more since then.

I'll see what I am on Friday...

I REALLY want to start my exercise program this week! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

Vija - you have good mojo going! :woohoo:

How do I unwind? Tough one - uncontrolled eating of chips! :scared1: I did walk the pooches but that's off for a while b/c of my foot. I need to find a new way to do it.

I'd like some help to argue with myself.:rotfl: I read a few posts of people who read my mind - "I'm on vacation so I'll just eat this" and
"I deserve it" and other things like that. So what I need is when I think that, what can I say back to myself? The old "nothing tastes as good as skinny feels" doesn't do it for me. Any suggestions?

Let's look at week 10 - only two more weeks to go

Wish Biggest Loser 7 Week 10
week 9 cumulative net loss 603.4
less losses from those removed from challenge 66.9 pounds
2 late reported losses 5.1 pounds
weekly net loss 34.5 pounds
Cumulative net loss 576.1 pounds
week 9 average percentage of weight lost 0.35%

Before the disclaimers a gentle reminder -

When reporting you weight each week PLEASE state the number of pounds you weigh ie xxx or xxx.x.

Before the weekly superstar list come the disclaimers.

*1* I am human and I make mistakes. If you have any questions please contact me. For your reference the magic percentage of weight lost formula is (weight loss for the week divided by weight for last week) times 100.

*2* When reporting a concern please notify me as soon as possible. Then give me some to time to do the research necessary. I will get back to you with a response when I can.

*3* If you miss a week and return with a loss your percentage is adjusted to reflect missing one week.

*4* If you gain and then post a loss your percentage is adjusted. If your loss is less than last week's gain then you are not named a superstar because you are still working to lose the gain.

Since we are losing participants our superstar list also shrinks. Many losers have disclaimers #3 and #4 affecting their percentages. If you have a gain and it takes two weeks to work it off you are not a superstar for those two weeks even though you are losing. I am just trying to be consistent and fair to everyone.

Another fact to keep in mind is that these numbers are only as good as the data reported to me. Remember to report EVERY FRIDAY. If you are late report as soon as you can. I use all numbers reported to me before I post the official announcement. Today we had a new member join at 3:09 PM and I got a report from someone that missed last week at 4:16 PM. Even if you remember after the announcement is posted report anyway so your number for next week will be accurate. Also stating your progress on the thread does not count in the official results. You MUST report to me to be official and included in the challenge.

Now here is what you really want to see.

Stay tuned for information from Eeyores Butterfly, Jessi, about the continuation of our WISH Biggest Loser 7 challenge. It will conclude with the end of the NBC TV Biggest Loser season on May 12.

But this BL is not over until it is over. Our last weigh in is Friday March 27 and the official results will be revealed on Tuesday March 31. There is still time to do some serious losing. What can you do in the remaining two weeks? That is up to you my friend. You know what works for you. Just get to work and do it.

Congratulations Linda and all the other loser's. I haven't had much time to be on here as I'm getting ready to leave for Disney this Friday.

I'm looking foward to going, but man is my plate full right now, lol! I'll be glad when we leave.

I stayed the same this week, and was late getting my info to Brenda and then realized I didn't send her my 2.6 loss the week before. How can I not report that - I swear I did send it, but it wasn't in my sent items so I'm guessing I messed up sending somehow.

I did the food allergy testing today and that is not the culprit, so I have another Dr.'s appointment on Friday.

QOTD Tuesday/Wednesday: How do you stay inspired on your weight loss journey?

/
Thank you for the Biggest Loser title unfortunately I don't know how to add a clipie- notice my boring signature.People on here have tried to talk me through it and I can't do it,my DDs have tried and can't do it either and they are awesome with this stuff?????????

MelanieC- Thanks and have a great time, I ma jealous!

Vija- Great job!!!!!!!

Have a great day everyone

Linda

Congratulations, Linda! I've been really busy and forgot to send my weigh-in to Brenda. Darn! That's the first that I forgot. Oh well. RL is the weigh! I stayed the same, so it wouldn't have mattered, but.....

We're on break, and we took DD out to her favourite Chinese buffet yesterday. I ate a variety, enjoyed myself, got full but not stuffed! That is an accomplishment for me. Now a few days to get rid of the 'salt' retention, and we'll see how it goes on Friday.

Stay the course, Everyone! Just keep :fish: Just keep :fish: Just keep :fish:

Congrats Linda!! You are the biggest loser this week!! Whoo hoo!!
Congrats to the rest of our superstars!!!!!:cool1: Everyone is doing so great. :cheer2:

I am finally back on track for more than a day- this is day 7 that I've been journalling, and staying within my ww points, so I am happy. The awesome weather here is a big motivator this week to get out and move.

Congrats Vija- What a wonderful feeling that must be.

Melanie- Have a fantastic vacation! :tink: :smickey: Tell mickey I said hello.

QOTD Tuesday/Wednesday: How do you stay inspired on your weight loss journey?
It helps me to think back to how I felt when I was 30 pounds heavier, and remember how hard it was to bend down, and how short of breath I got when I chased my son, and how tight my clothes had become. It is so hard to stay inspired at times, but I can't go back to where I was ever again. It's taking me a long time, but I have come to the realization that no matter how long it takes me to lose the rest of the weight, it's ok. I'm happy, and healtier than I've been in 10 years, and am going to stay on this track. I also love this thread and coming here and being inspired by others successes and also by their struggles. Knowing I am not alone it this is a huge inspiration for me.

Congratulations to Linda and all the other losers! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

We should all be proud of our hardwork and sticking to this challenge.

MelanieC have a great time at the WDW -- we will want to hear all about your trip. I'll be there nine months from today -- yay -- wow! better get to work!

QOTD Tuesday/Wednesday: How do you stay inspired on your weight loss journey?

I have a tendency to tie goals to trips or events, i.e., I want to weigh a certain amount when I go on vacation in July. For example, I have a big WDW trip in December and I really want to be at my ideal weight for that trip. That means a lot of hard work in the mean time. My DS is also an inspiration to me because I don't want him to ever go down this path so I need to have healthy habits, teach him healthy habits, and I want to be around when he is older and have kids. Since I am already an older Mom as it is, this is really important to remember.

That said, I am tracking every bite on Sparkpeople and that is really helping me. If I have used a lot of calories at breakfast and lunch, I can be sure to eat a light dinner. Or I can say to myself "why eat breakfast at Starbucks when you could have had a much nicer breakfast at home?" I am realizing that I eat breakfast and lunch at work because it is convenient but it is not too enjoyable, even if I make good choices. I need to drive 3 miles and go home to eat! I'm the boss so I can do that and it would help to get away from the office for awhile.

Have a great day losers!

Wow - It's Wednesday -YEAH! I woke up being .2 below what I was the last two weeks. I'm hoping I can squeeze out a loss by Friday morning. I plan on WI right before I leave and hopefully I can send a message to Brenda from the airport.

I sure hope check-in and getting through security goes smoothly. There are 25 of us total, 14 of them being the girls. I just hope they pack properly and don't cause too big a scene going through security.

We have a party on Friday night, the girls compete Saturday morning and Sunday afternoon. Then Sunday evening there is a parade for all the winners (we compete against 10 other squads - so I'm pretty sure we won't end up doing this - but you never know). Then Sunday night we have a party at MGM after hours. Monday is the only day we get the whole day to play.

Keeping my fingers crossed I don't have too much trouble staying on track.

Hello everyone. I have not posted in quite a while. I think I have stayed away because I'm having a tough time staying on track and focused. I did read a few pages back and a big :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: to BL's this week. Way to go Linda.:cheer2:

Friday's QOTD: What is your biggest obstacle to losing weight and how do you overcome it?

I would say it is the mindless eating. I did see Vija mention how it is like someone else takes over. This is SO me. I can actually think to myself "I should not be eating this" but some how I still will eat it. I know I shouldn't, but I can't seem to stop myself.:sad2:
Saturday/Sunday QOTD: What would you like to see in the next part of the challenge?

This is the first time I have done the BL Challange, and I'm really happy with it. And I'm sending BIG THANK YOU's to everyone who helps make this challange happen. Way to go, you guys are AWESOME.

Monday QOTD: How do you unwind when you are feeling stressed out or overwhelmed?
I like to make a cup of my special coffee drink and read. It's is my escape. I read historical romance, so it's like being transported to another time.

Hey you guys, I am sooo happy!!!!:goodvibes Yesterday was testing for the next belt rank advancement in TaeKwonDo. I have to admit I was nervous. Not sure why, as I know my forms, and can do the technique, I guess I was nervous about maintaining the push up position and the board break. It usually takes me several tries to break the board. As it does for some others as well, but I have had a goal in mind since before the first testing that I wanted to break it on my first try... and guess what?????

I DID IT! I broke my board on the first try!!!!!!

That is great. You should be so proud of yourself.:cheer2:

Hi Connie, Welcome back from your cruise. Sorry you got sick though. I was one of those that got sick on the final day of the panama trip.
And how was your St. Patrick's dinner last night?

QOTD Tuesday/Wednesday: How do you stay inspired on your weight loss journey?

This is a great question, and sadly I really dont have an answer right now. I need to find the inspiration/motivation some how.

Thanks for posting this. I must remember that this is a journey and I did not put the weight on overnight and I won't lose it overnight. I will keep the mental reminder tape running through my head that I need to just keep :fish:

Congratulations everyone! I lost 2 pounds this past week and thought maybe I would get on the list somehow...but you guys must have really kicked some butt!!!

QOTD Tuesday/Wednesday: How do you stay inspired on your weight loss journey?

Right now it is a pair of Pooh embroidered overalls I couldn't fit into 20 pounds ago and am now in 'em but they are still slightly uncomfortable...Also we just got the bill for my physical therapy for my back and after insurance which paid 85%, it is still over $500. Not doing that route with my back ever again.

Right now I am very inspired by last night's Biggest Looser! I just watched the episode a little while ago, and if they can run a half marathon, then by golly, I can get my rear in gear and run too! My goal is to run a 5K locally here this fall. I started at the track last week. I found a schedule online that really works up to running slowly. Last week, I would walk for 6 min. then run for 1 min. Tonight I start the walk for 5 run for 2. I went to the track previously, but tonight I am gonna try around the neighborhood. I fear it may be much harder, because we have a few hills around our house. I think if my 2 min. runs happen when I'm at a hill, I may just turn around and go the other way! Wish me luck!

Good luck Angie! :) I just watched that too - I was thinking the same thing about them running the 1/2 - that was awesome!

Ok I did it! I even ran up one of the hills. It was a lot harder than the even road, but I made it!:cool1:
